I first saw this movie while studying in Japan, and while I loved it 3 years of Japanese can only get you so far. Watching it with English subtitles was amazing, but the emotion from the Soundtrack, and certain scenes hit hard even through the language barrier. Why do you draw Fujino-san, makes you think about any creative/academic/life goal you may have and why you might be doing it. This movie will make you love that passion in a way you’ve never thought before, and love the people that motivate you to keep going. Another under appreciated part of this movie is the subtle references to artists before and after both Kyomoto and Fujimoto. References to the drawings of Toriyama and Matsumoto hammer home the theme of why we draw and who we draw for. This movie is gorgeous and knowing the fact that human error was left in this movie to make it feel alive makes this feel like a one of a kind animation project.

So I fell for the wanikani meme a while ago. I feel some sort of retarded sunk cost fallacy towards it since I'm already on level 35 and it feels like it's better to just finish it, the problem isn't so much the amount of flashcards, I like studying however wanikani really eats up a lot of my time and focus which isn't good right now since I'm in uni and it negatively affects my grades.
