Kind of looks like the only noticeable differences are that v1 Mokou has slightly arched lines just over the eyes vs. v1.5's straight lines, and maybe the placement of the ofuda on the pants. Maybe v1.5 has slightly lighter hair but that could be wear on v1.

I'm not the biggest fan of them, but they've been around for awhile, so it's not really fair to say that Fumo is just a Touhou related thing. That said some of them just look kinda weird to me when a certain character is made in the style. The other Vocaloids look fine to me, and I even plan on getting the Senbonzakura Miku, but the regular Miku looks really off to me, which is why I didn't get her. I don't know what it is about her.

Hey, nothing wrong with bootlegs either per se. Some of the original designs are great for characters that don't have anything yet, and I like using bootlegs as bases for custom stuff.

I got a 3d printer as a present during christmas
made a small fumo stand for fumo photography, there's a small slab that keeps them upright and I made a hole depression in the middle to help center them.
If I was smarter, I would have made the slab foldable or something but it's my first actual print. It is removable though in case I need to put it in a bag.

Chart maker here. This is something I haven't written on the chart (I guess I could add it to the next version), but the first few "modern" fumos did still have a paper badge instead of a tin one, and only got a tin badge with a later release. The shape of the early releases was also close to "classic" fumos as seen on >>48577422, and later re-releases made them more similar to the rest of the modern fumos.
The reason why they're still considered "modern" is that their later releases weren't considered "new releases" unlike the V1.5s the classic fumos got, and the slight change in shape is simply the same thing that happened to classic fumos themselves (they got slightly more shapely re-releases in the few years following their initial releases and before they were discontinued for a long period).

In short, you can unofficially call those two V1 and V1.5 if you want, but officially they're just "Mokou".

Imagine what a fumofumo v2.0 would look like... The year is 2025, I think we're ready

I'm pretty iffy on them, personally. Instinctively I want to say "fumos are only touhou", but then I look at the Saya one and I think that one alright. I could just be biased because I really like Saya no Uta, but I wonder if there is something more that I'm picking up on. I definitely draw the line at the new eyes, though. The duotone and the cheek stitching is definitely a step in the wrong direction

I have 2 of her, one from when you still had to fight to get an order from AmiAmi, and another I got overstock from the made-to-order batch from just a few months ago. My first Sanae is softer than the first, but I don't think either of them would compare to an original V1.

While Sanae V2 is only "version 2" in name, she's only called so because of how drastic of an improvement the new plushie is. Matter of fact, Angeltype (now Royalcat) has been responsible for some Azur Lane artwork within the game for over 5 years, using those exact two-tone eyes seen in picrel. It's effectively Fumofumo 2.0 with his revised artstyle.

If i were to believe Amiami and other sellers archives. 2011 release of Mokou and Kaguya are V1 with paper badges and 2023 ones got tin badges.

Now it makes a lot more sense why they'd have the plushes featured in boat slut PVs.

So I bought a Pippa plushie (I guess it's not a fumo since it's not Touhou related, but I don't know where else to ask), and I like cuddling it to sleep. Thing is that it's gotten quite dirty in a short time (a bit over six months). I haven't done anything other than just hug it, what could be the cause of this? Is it just because I'm some sort of dirty NEET? How often should a plushie of this kind be washed? Can it be damaged by washing it too often? Thanks!

TL;DR if she's very soiled you can use detergent for delicates and a soft toothbrush, don't use hot water and don't submerge her completely. For regular dusting use a microfiber cloth.
Hygiene-wise, take your showers before bed so you're not putting all your dead skin and skin oils into your bedding and plush.

Yes anon, six months is actually a perfectly reasonable time for a plush to get dirty by hugging them daily while sleeping.

Everything that's made of fabric will slightly deteriorate every time it gets washed, but that's still much better than keeping them dirty. Washing them twice a year is a good middle ground.

I would like to give away some of my old fumos for (mostly) free. I used to post here around 2018 or something like that, but I'm washed up. I'm not sure if any of what I have is valuable, but I'd like to give away. I'm trying to get rid of the stuff I have - if of this stuff could make you happy, that's infinitely more than what it means to me. These are all genuine, no bootlegs.
