Lately I'm a bit depressed that my dollies will forever be stuck in my crappy apartment in a crappy city, getting a new outfit every now and then, never going cool places. I'm not poor but, yeah.I never gave a shit about the lives other people flaunted on social media, but with dolls it's starting to get under my skin.Worst of all, my feelings of inadequacy are starting to get in the way of the fun. I start thinking I need a better day, or a better place, or something better to do than what I can do at the moment, and then the day ends. I regret it.I've got this feeling in the back of my head that to be in this hobby you have to be much richer than what's needed to buy dolls and clothes, so I'll be forever half-assing it. Even the smallest things take a little bit of that energy -- cooking, cleaning, getting out of bed, some days, on top of life, bills, work. Winter, especially, is a time when we tend to be low on energy, drive, and mood. It isn't wallowing to feel those things, and it isn't letting anyone down... it's simply being alive. Let yourself rest, and take stock on what you do each day, what you want to do, and what keeps you from getting there -- and then, when the days warm up and the sun comes back, you can start making plans on how to get there. Don't make time limits -- just make goals, and let yourself get there in your own time. There are enough deadlines and time limits in the working world: let this be your time to just Be.You are doing just fine, anon. We are all doing the best we can, and that includes you. Other people's social media posts display a tiny, polished sliver of the reality they're really living. What you are doing is just fine, too. And what you want to do, you'll get there -- maybe not in the way you expected, but in a way where you will find contentment all the same. And no matter what, your dolls will wait for you. I'm happy to see every single post someone makes here, whether it's a fuzzy phone photo or something that took three hours to set up. There's just so much quality. I think the community is really passionate and I know people who put a ton of effort into what they do, but I just don't have the means or energy to match that kind of output at the moment. It's usually late at night when I get some time with them and I'm just sleepy. I've skipped days lately, and I hate leaving them in a box. I've got a sewing project stalled forever.But like the other anon said they're going to be there during the highs and lows and I think I'm going to appreciate that more instead of taking them as yet another responsibility. Maybe that's what's been doing me in.

Do you guys remove their wigs when travellings with dolls in bags or luggage? Is it really necessary or will the wig and doll be fine getting shaken around a bit?

I usually travel with my dolls outside of my luggage and carry them on their own, tuck their hair into their clothes, or use a hair tie around the neck and/or body to keep everything from tangling. Your mileage may vary but I usually have to brush their hair anyway.

>>48658033I think Dream Valley and some smaller creators have done dragon heads. Does Cuarto still sell her work? Spirit Imprint did "She is a Dragon", picrel, which is probably exactly what you want, but finding one will be tricky due to small run-size, and also, the global trade situation. Hellwis also has one, but it's similarly incredibly small-run and painfully pricey on the aftermarket. My recommendation is put a WTB/ISO listing in doll spaces -- it's rather antithetical to the spirit of anonymous imageboards like this, but places like facebook groups, forums like Den of Angels (for resin, which this is,) and even r/BJD are the best place to find extremely small-scale dolls such as this one. Instagram destroyed their tagging system as far as I know, but the #bjdsale(s) tags used to be the best way to buy and sell things. Things also come up once in a blue moon on ebay and mercari, but you run the risk of getting fleeced with a bootleg, or scammed outright (only dispute I ever had to file was over a doll head that never got shipped out.) You could have some luck trying to track down the head from an bjd animal/pet and stealing the head for your oc. It's year of the dragon, so Dream Valley, Fatemoons, Dollzone, Whale Tower, Miracle Doll, and Eve Studio all have some form of dragon they've released this year. The scale will vary, and smaller ones are more common. Once you have a head, you can hybrid it onto many different bodies... even if they aren't made to go together, you can make it work. If the head is a weird color, DM ResinSoul and ask about something custom -- their poseability and engineering isn't the best, but for unusual hybrids they have the goods. Finally, trying to get something 3D printed is always an option, and then you will have more control over the scale you want, and so on. I personally recommend getting one premade or paying someone to print and finish it for you; working with resin can be toxic, so better to pay someone with the correct PPE to do it right, in my personal opinion.
