in fact i tend to prefer novels in which emotional/character development occurs during h-scenes (whether it's various stages of 快楽落ち or just something purely emotional like two girls who previously hated each other's guts kissing like they're in love and playing nice as they get fucked) rather than just endless ああん. much more fun that way

The last /djt/ discussion not devolving into a slapfight for once got me curious about the state of MTL EOPs or at least N5s that are either regulars or just browse without posting.
So a few questions:
>First series found with an adaptation then decided to learn the WN/LN source material in english.
>First series you got into, then couldn't wait for translations and MTLd the novel raws (yomichan and hover dictionaries count as MTL for this).
>First series you actually took the plunge read (or are reading) raw without MTL, even if you had to check the dictionary on literally every other word.

A "proper" dictionary is more effort than a hover one and makes words stick better.
Especially if you only look up the kanji and not the conjugation with it, effectively cheating further.
