Merry Christmas!
>>50491328Merry Christmas! Meet Mariel Anona Dolores, born December 24th. Obitsu 40cm body and a May head.Mariloli's getting her first present ever!
>>50492489Here.
>>50492497Cute! Is she your first doll?
>>50492497Cute! Welcome Mariel!
>>50492730Not quite, but sold smaller scale ones till setting on Mariel.>>50492804Thanks anon!
Okay anon are you going to share what those boxes under your tree were?
>>50492918Not much.I bought 2 Hot Wheels Tracksets for my nephews. And a New Laptop for my Parents. My Girls/Dolls did get a lot of stuff from my last japan trip.
>>50492497Cute tomboy!Congrats!>>50492918I opened and dressed up the first box. She is a one-off sd16 girl.
has anyone ever tied printing a BJD? if so whats your opinion on them and do you have any recommendations
>>50494001There's a lot of people who have done that, if you head to the /bjd subreddit there's a lot of posts by people who have with varying success.
Merry Christmas anons
Merry Christmas everyone. Meet Odds, the newest addition to my collection and the latest victim of my annual "wait way too long to start working on christmas outfits" tradition.>>50492497Cute! And those book nooks look nice, a coworker just got a cyberpunk themed one and I thought they would make a nice backdrop for smaller dolls.
And here's the gang all together. Miku also finally got some festive drip. Little horror story, I switched Alayne from a vinyl to a resin body about two month ago. I had planned to print a proper adapter for her head but lack of time and lazyness meant that she was still using an improvised piece of plastic to hold her head down and keep the elastics strung. Well that piece of plastic just broke while posing her. Without the adapter to hold the elastics her body instantly went limp in my hands, like she just died. Kinda felt horrifying...

hi guys and girls! does anyone here have experience with 1/3 scale dolls? are they too big? should I just get a 1/4 as my first instead? not sure exactly what to go for either but my budget is about 1000 including clothes
>>50495072Almost all of the dolls in this thread are either 1/3 or 1/4 scale dolls. They are bigger than you think, but too big is going to depend on your space. 1/3 girls are around 60cm tall, and 1/4 about 45cm. 1/4 girls tend to have a younger appearance, where 1/3 girls tend to be more mature in figure. This isn't something you need to rush into making a choice about, and you should pick the doll that appeals most to you. Check out the guide in the OP for more information, including more about clothes, and where to buy dolls from. Good luck on your doll journey!
>>50495072How big is too big is going to be up to you and what kind of space you have to have them in. Suigintou here is 60cm, but the doll next to her is only 27cm. For what it's worth, neither 1/3 nor 1/4 dolls fit well on your average shelves as they tend to be 12 inches at most between shelves most of the time.
>>50495072Hello anon! It really depends on what you personally are interested in. 1/4 (40cm) and 1/3 (60cm) are both very popular and well-supported sizes as far as clothing, accessories, and other option-parts are go. It can be harder to find props and furniture for 1/3-scale dolls; 1/4-scale tends to have more options available on that front because they are more likely to be in-scale to 18" doll (American Girl, et al) props -- but you can make it work either way. $1000 is also a very solid budget to start out with. Would you prefer an anime-style doll, or a more realistic one? Do you want a cute doll with a younger appearance, or a cooler, more mature doll? Once you decide on factors like that, you can narrow down which doll is the doll for you. Picrel is some dolls from 40-60cm wearing the same outfit and accessory to give an example of how they tend to differ aesthetically.
>>50495086thank you, as for appearances I guess I favour something that looks around mid to late 20s. do you think that would be more 1/3 scale? I might wait until I can see some in person or I'll give 3d printing a go first, but I do like the idea of just buying a ready to go doll.ty again
>>50495093And for further reference here is an old photo of a 60cm Obitsu hybrid (her name is Clover) sitting on my father's shoulder. I've found it's a good illustration of just how large 60cm really is.>>50495095If you want a more mature-looking doll, 60cm aesthetics will probably be more in-line with what you have in mind.
ah sorry I didn't see the extra replies>>50495092I would possibly looking at a custom display shelf. both your dolls are really pretty by the waymay I ask what model she is, I really like her face>>50495093I think I may go 1/3 because I would like just one doll. I will make her a nice display and I'm ok working with fabrics and whatnot to make such a display (not very good at miniature clothing however)as for between anime and realistic, it's a really hard choice. I think I like anime style that leans a little realistic, especially with blush and eyesmaturity around mid 20s look I thinkty>>50495101I like this image a lot
>>50495103Suingintou has the same head as Ringdoll's Alice01, but a different body.
It's still Christmas somewhere. Also free standing 8 dolls was the worst idea I've had in a while.
>>50495101this is huh wow
>>50495110ty, this is great to learn about
>>50495101Aw, I love seeing photos of your dad and the dolls. Thanks for posting.>>50495072Good budget! I think based on your tastes, I'd just bite the bullet and go with 1/3. Because it's your first doll, I would suggest you purchase a doll that already has the faceup (face paint and other facial customization) you like. Commissioning and/or DIYing that part is its own journey in this hobby. Wigs, clothes, and shoes are the easy part, especially with 1/3 dolls. The hard part is controlling yourself.
>>50495133ah I didn't consider the face paint. I'm guessing my skills of being able to apply makeup to myself don't translate at all to doll makeup
>>50495151Actually id say it definitely applies technique wise, just materials are completely different
I just got a new doll from Alice but I'm not thrilled with the free wig I got during the event, and it's been forever since I ordered a wig for any of my dolls, what are some good shops I can find 1/3 scale wigs at? I'm not sure how up to date the guide is but I figure it can't hurt to ask
get new computer parts (storage) or more dollies? any 1/4 makers have faces that ain't too babyish?
>>50495372The last two wigs I got were from Cotin Doll. They are a bit more expensive compared to chinese sellers but look amazing. They do tend to focus more on anime hairstyles and colors though, not sure if that's what your looking for for a resin doll.
>>50495372Cotin Doll, Licht, ACBJD (as with all things,) and LeekeWorld are all good shops I've gotten things from. You can check out Parabox/Obitsu as well -- they're not the best, but they've got standardized offerings in literally every fucking size imaginable and several I think they invented.>>50495133Thank you, that's very kind.
>>50495643I know this is the doll thread, but right now? Computer parts, the AI boom is only gonna make things worse in the hardware department come 2026.
>>50495643I need more storage and fuck me ssds are expensive. like 500 for an 6tb drive
A tad late but merry christmas
>>50495072If you have the space to pose one, 1/3 all the way.>>50495072Mariel here has the older proportions for an 1/4 body.>>50495643Parts, and pray they last for the next year. The yen is going downhill, so you can look at that like a long term discount.
>>50495103>I think I may go 1/3 because I would like just one doll.Good luck with that. How many people in this thread said the same thing and now have a small army?
>>50496900I ordered a fourth doll recently.
>>50496911I'm about to order that reimu by tinyfox most likely. Wallet, I'm sorry

Chelsea's smug aura is simply too powerful>>50498572We've already ordered for the year. There may be one left available; I'm waiting on responses from an anon that indicated interest but hasn't responded. Check back regularly in mid-January; if they haven't responded by then I'll make it available to the first anon to fill out a form I post.Otherwise, you're free to print out your own and go for a DIY approach. It's designed for 12x12 pages, but you could obviously resize and print on 11x17 or something like that and scale/trim to fit. the design files are available here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cv_i9JaxHAj3Azy05BsqA3ULWui1_gGD/view?usp=drive_linkAnd the finished calendar .pdf available here (huge file for print quality; like 900MB): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BQeNxtcW3hG-uI0GZ52BM9IywBRamUQ5/view?usp=sharingI also realized just now that I messed up the doll names on the back of the calendar; for some reason I didn't instantly realize the 3x3 name grid didn't match the 4x3 month preview grid. I'm sorry, Toobie, Lacy Anne, and Tiara.
>>50494267Such fantastic outfits, I'm impressed. Hope you had a merry christmas, and congrats on welcoming Odds. Calendar arrived! This community project is honestly a pretty big highlight of 2025 (and 2024). Thank you! forgot to tell other people that i had a package that's arriving with a nonsense name and that's how i learned the calendar came
I suppose I'll join in on calendar posting too! I've also got a new camera recently that I am both excited and intimidated to learn to use ahhhhh (I alreadly like how I'm not needing to wrangle focus anymore)

>>50499224
>>50499225I was so tempted to kidnap this cutie home
>>50499197This was the biggest culture shock when I attended a Japanese convention. People just left their dolls looking cute and expected them to be there when they finished browsing. Even if I knew and trusted all of the attendees, I'd still be so worried about venue staff.
>>50499197me as the floor where all the girls are stepping on
>>50499230That sounds cool actually. It must feel pretty good to go online after and see someone posting a photo of YOUR doll saying how cute she is.

Good news! Surgery was a great success and Alayne made a full recovery.>>50499183Man, that looks like fun. Wish we had a con like that around where I live.>>50499226Is it just the perspective screwing with me or is she way bigger than 1/3 scale?
>>50500771look at the dolls in the back, Idk but I think she's massive

I ran out of doll stands midway and had to improvise. I wanted the Xmas tree in the shot too but I didn't have enough space.>>50498785>>50498971Cute!>>50499183That is an awesome display. It must be a really big diorama! All those food props must have also cost a lot of money too.
Obligatory calendar posting, 2B and Momoko. Thanks again to the anon who organized and everyone’s contributions it came out lovely.
Miku would like to show off her new kimono! I have also learnt the process of putting one on, and I have a much higher appreciation for people who wear them. Its almost embarrassing how long it took me, and it still isn't perfect, but I'm happy she now has one to wear. Regardless, now I need to keep an eye out for a more fitting hair ornament and shoes that match a little bit better (I was not paying $60 for the Volks shoes.) Also, for people who are more knowledgeable than I am, what is the "adjustment pad" that came with the set? Its a thin pillow with elastic strapping sewed onto it. Is it for adding extra bulk around the waist for straighter silhouette? And, before you say anything, I've fixed the exposed corner at her feet and the obi covering the loose fold. Its funny all the errors you notice once you get the pictures off of your camera
>>50502377>>50502448Cute!!I think its for the waist. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjBMUqX-VYk
>>50502448>Is it for adding extra bulk around the waist for straighter silhouette? That's exactly what it's for. Traditional kimono are not intended to fit the form of the body; the torso down is more or less intended to be one big tube shape, not accentuating bust and hips.>I have also learnt the process of putting one onEveryone goes through this. Just wait until you have to learn how to tie a Hakama. It'll go a lot quicker but you'll go through similar struggles again. At any rate, your Miku looks quite cute and the shoes/ornament complement the hair and eyes so I wouldn't fret too much about those. Maybe adjust the ornament placement so it's not dangling right in front of her eye but overall good job. Fabric quality on the garment looks stellar, where'd it come from? You also got the left over right correct for which side folds over the body first, and she's not dressed as a corpse.>>50502377>>50498785>>50498971Cute!
So many cute dolls from everyone!! So many family pics!>>50499183I feel like I've already seen the blond MDD wearing a kimono. Is she yours?
>>50498102still so fuggin cute :DDD>>50498327>>50502179just amazing anon, such a lovely doll family!! i never realized you have some twins?! and Ribbon Knight Sapphire is adorable! >>50498573>>50498648cute! but what is she plotting?? oh no worries anon!! truly, thank you so much for all you do to make the calendar happen!>>50499183cuteness overload, thanks for sharing! >>50500771owo great news, cute pose! >>50502377cute 2B! i could have sworn the thread had more 2Bs once upon a time…
>>50502536Ah, thanks! In retrospect, looking up videos of the set specifically would have been a smarter thing to do than reading through kimono guides. I guess that means I'll have to take it all off and dress her up once again to see if I like how it looks... I will say that looking through all the different ways to tie an obi has got me interested in trying to tie one for her too instead of using the clip-on included with the set>>50502558Thanks. For what its worth, I adjusted her hair ornament afterwards too. It had been more out of the way when I put it on the first time, but I didn't clip in enough hair, so it had slowly slipped down as I kept moving her around.
Altering a faceup is scary. But I think I did it. Merida needed a better mouth line.
large chest mdds.
keeping super long hair neat is hard...
>>50507291Such a great picture! I think the glasses really fit Chelsea too.>interlocked fingerswhew>>50507462That's the rub, isn't it? Long hair is extremely pretty, but it really is a struggle sometimes. Like, I feel like I just need to think about it and it starts to puff up and get tangled. Maybe, one day, I'll think more about getting a short haired doll (my planned next one is going to have hair past her knees ahhhh)
>>50507462Styled long hair is my bane. my two with straight long hair is basically flawless. The two with wavy long hair are disasters
>>50507362cute smile! i’ve never done a faceup myself, and it may just be my display, but i wonder if layering a slightly lighter/warmer brown tone on your additions might help them to blend in a little bit more softly, plus maybe extending your lines a little bit further inwards towards the center? i really like the shape you’ve defined, but it looks a bit dark/grey to me as if the shadow is kind of harsh, if that makes sense!
>>50507645Yeah, I think you're probably right. I tried to bring the line in more into the mouth, but the sealant the original faceup artist used was not happy with my medium (watercolor pencil), so I couldn't get it to show. In person and at a normal focal length it's not as stark with the color, but a lighter tone would've been better. Oh well, I'm too damn nervous to go in with acetone and take it off to try again. she may just have this smirk for a while and then get sent back to her original artist for a better one
Is the only way to get a resin wig literally going to aidoll? Im so tired of hair
>>50508622if you sculpt it I'd gladly print it for you
>>50508210ah, makes sense that it’s not sticking to glossy sealant. all the same, very cute work anon!
>>50507462>>50507557Me three, I'm not using styling products yet, but maybe that's the trick. Have a better Mariel.
>>50507291Cute sisters together! I like the lighting here!>>50510328>>50507557Straight long hair isn't too bad. At least you can brush it and spray it. Lacy Anne's hair is still holding up with super 'strong' pomade but her curls always wants to get tangled on everything.
>>50507291seeing a progression hereprediction: your next doll will have closed eyes
>>50508981Thanks, here she is all put back together, I think it makes a huge difference.>>50507462Don't I know it...
>>50510532cute!!>super 'strong' pomadewow the curls hold up so well, i assumed they were saturated in some kind of glue or silicone caulking! >>50511052d’awww, it really does add so much warmth to her expression!!

I have ordered the Suiginto Dolk BJD.
you guys are too fakenice
>>50511559a-a-and I have just preordered Suiseiseki.Belated Christmas presents for me.
>>50511559Shit, did they do another round of orders for Suigintou? Oh well, not like I had the money for her anyways.
is this a fetish thing or do you guys just like playing with cute dolls?
I want to get the new Elianna full set from Xaga Doll but how do I know what size the clothes are? I don't want to order her with certain dimensions and have the clothes look strange...
>>50511590No, I bought it new from a reseller at a marked up price.

>>50511697>Dolk has the default body for her listed as narrow shoulder, chest B.Oh, that's so helpful thanks a ton anon! I checked a couple other sites and didn't see the details so I just assumed they wouldn't be listed on retail sites.
>no shortstack body type dollsI know making the clothes would be cancer but...
Anyone here good at shelling characters? I'm sure as hell not. Any ideas on what sculpt to use for Mamimi from FLCL? Resin or vinyl, whatever works.
>>50511052It looks good and I love that hair!I only wish that wig were easy to care for..
>>50511978Based. DDH03 (that is, Dollfie Dream Head #03) immediately comes to mind, picrel. It's a standard option and should be easy to acquire, too. DDH16 also comes to mind, but I don't think you can just buy that one -- someone more knowledgeable than me, can you confirm if that one is Dream Choice limited? (As an aside, did Volks really discontinue a bunch of their old head sculpts? Disappointing if so.)
>>50511978Honestly the DDH-31 that came out recently could be good too, what came to my mind firstNot sure if you wanting resin or vinyl though
>>50512213not that anon but I haven't seen that one, do we have a photo?
>>50512213>>50512167I'm more interested in "attempting to capture the spirit of the character" than necessarily caring if it is vinyl or resin, since I own both. I don't care if I have to turn an existing character into her either, so spare no expense, I think this will be harder to shell than other dolls due to the expression range of the series.03 is pretty close since the face seems more dour maybe?
>>50512231
>>50512213>>50512231Other anon here. Take a look. The DDH-31 head is Lovely
I think the 31 fits her better personally because of the DSL but 03 is more droopy so I think either would work tbqh
>>50512511screw you mobile posting.
>>50511572Man, I've been eyeing this for months, and didn't realize they already made 3 batches, and right now, as a non doll owner, I feel like she'll be cool to have, but at the same time, looking through the photos here, it feels like a big responsibility or something that I feel like I may not be able to do, such as, posing, taking pics etc. I don't think I'll be doing that. But maybe posing her and drawing? I don't know...Still not sure if I should buy her or not. Also, seems like for that site, you gotta be a resident, so I guess I have to use a proxy, but I haven't done that for a very long time.I don't know why I'm asking this, but do you think I should even buy it? I'd feel weird if they release her sister, then I'll have 2 dolls lol
>>50513289You can love your doll in whatever way you want anon, I just talk to my dolls and dress them, I don't really do the photos thing, I don't have the talent. I make things for them though and dote on them.Drawing her could be good too! Also I just placed an order on there for a wig using Amazon pay and there was no problem with thr shipping address or anything, but maybr it's different if you're buying a doll?
>>50511572
>>50513297Yea I tried making an account in dolk, but it says Japan residents only, and the Amazon thing is JP, not sure if they'd even ship it directly to the US. I've asked a friend there, but still undecided. I mean, I want to get her, but at the same time, I feel like, since I don't even come here that much, (but appreciate you Anons), that I might not be the right person? Maybe I won't know where to put her? It's such a duality. I mean, she is 40cm, and not sure what will happen in a couple of years, since the delivery is in November 2027Don't get me wrong, I wanna get one, at least a Rozen Maiden themed doll for my first, that is very cool, but man, I feel like for a week or a month, it would be nice. But following that, I wonder what might happen. I'll probably look at her, but might not interact with the doll after.Though, this kind of opens some doors for new hobbies, like learning to sew small dresses and such, and maybe customizing doll parts. I like working with resin (GKs etc), but I don't get to do it that much.
>>50513325>I might not be the right person?when you imagine that she is no longer available, do you feel more dread or relief?
>>50513687I knoow, that's the hard part, I know it will be sold out soon, but I'll see... Also, they haven't made any new runs of Shinku either, I don't think they will. It is surprising that they did a 4th run of Sui
>>50513325I think https://dolkbjd.com/pages/suiseiseki is the US page.
>>50513975Thanks, Anon!
>>50514268>>50513975>>50513687>>50513297Was out, I'd say I've always admired these dolls, image related is the first one I've seen around 20ish years ago, and liked em. I guess now I'll have one when it arrives.Since this is Suiseiseki related, I delivered a drawing for a certain Anon on /wsr/ a while back! I put it here, might as well, as thank you for encouraging me to get it, and that for that US sitehttps://archived.moe/wsr/thread/1505913/#1506242>inb4 Anon now has my info
>>50514644Cute!! But dat wig tho... tangles everywhere
>>50514655I never thought about that stuff, guess when I handle it after it arrives, I'll see. Here's some more of that doll
>>50513975Did some extra checks on this, seems like this one's sorted under "Korea" I wonder why it's not coming from Japan, perhaps their other place is in Korea, or the doll itself is being made there, but sold to Japan and the US via their different sites?
>>50514644Cute art, cute doll, cute anon!
I'm thinking of getting Dollfie Dream Karin as my first doll, what do people here think? Better options available or is she a good choice?
Greetings anons. Im passing by just to kindly ask if you guys are still interested in Shinku as the player that represents BJD in /jp/'s football team
>>50514827I hate the wig she comes with and her face has some bad angles, but she's very cute. I think at least a couple people from these threads have her.
>>50514869oh yeah I'd get her a different wig and maybe eyes. I've seen the bad angles you mean and for me that's like ah she's just like me in that regard
>>50514827Karin is cute, we have a few here. I did the same and I think it was worth doing for my first 1/3 scale doll. Some things to consider:Going with the pre-done faceup is going to be cheap relative to commissioning or figuring out auctions but obviously limits customization.Karin is flesh colored, a lot of aftermarket stuff is semi-white, if this matters to you.Consider eyes or wigs as customization options if that appeals to you. She comes with just a nightgown, so obviously get some clothes for her with your order too.Calculate out ordering from volks jp and ordering from volks usa. It's often cheaper (especially with the weak yen) from jp.Say goodbye to $1000, look forward to your photos
>>50514881omg I think you legitimately just saved me about $250 because I was going to order from the US store (I'm in Australia).as for flesh colour I don't mind too much. I don't plan to alter her heaps (maybe design and 3d print some parts for her)as for clothing I was thinking of trying to make some myself with my grandmother and mum because they're good at sewing (I'm just ok), but I may try and get her a set in the mean time
>>50514865It's tradition at this point, at least in my opinion.>>50514827Karin is very cute, in my opinion! If she appeals to you, anon, you should go for her!>>50512527She's stunning! I hope I can adopt one one day.
>>50514902Oh yeah lol definitely don't order from US then. The JP site works fine for international orders. Sewing its its own rabbit hole to go down. Sewing doll clothes is more difficult than regular work, on average due to the scale. Get one or two outfits to start while you build your wardrobe. And you may want to order a couple different hands to go with her if you think they'd be worth it. Warning: hands are stupid expensive for what they are, but I'm not aware of great alternatives if you want a variety of hand poses. I think some other anons have articulated hands from third party vendors.
>>50514929alright I think I will!>>50514951thank you, I really appreciate the insight. I may order a set of hands in that casecan I ask to all itt, what is the difference between these two?https://dollfie.ec.volks.co.jp/category/D_DD/4518992422138.htmlhttps://dollfie.ec.volks.co.jp/category/DOLLFIE/4518992416434.html
>>50514981The one that says DDf3 has a more recent, updated body design. They look functionally the same, but the internal skeleton is changed to pose more fluidly in the DDf3. The hip joint is also a sort of love-it-or-hate-it situation; it does have a better range of motion, but it can also be fiddly and hard to work with. It is up to the individual whether the extra cost is worthwhile for them!
>>50514865Hell yeah!
>>50514991ohhh I see, thank you so much for knowing this. would you be able to elaborate on the hip joint, is it like a set it and forget thing or is it like it comes undone easily?
>>50515006different anon, but i've not had issues with it. The DD-f3 2.0 however, I've had issues with coming apart. Most of the joints you can adjust with screwdrivers. P1 or P2, depending on the joint. If they give you trouble, look up disassembly videos on youtube or consult the manual (japanese, but has pictures). loctite thread locker or nylock nuts can help if you have trouble. For me, it was the shoulder joints that needed the most attention. Nylocks (M3 i think) were the soloution
>>50511052cute, love gingers.
>>50515084thank you heaps, I think I will go with the more expensive model of karin
>>50514715There's a backend distributor Borderless Co that is handling it. Regardless, the dolkbjd.com site does international shipping.
Looks like Souseiseki Dolk BJD is now confirmed, probably will have to wait another year though.
>>50511572taobao dolk page is selling this for like 600 bucks kangaroo dollars
>>50515295As long as the creators are the same, I guess. But I assume even if they are different, they will have the same process and molds>>50515301Oh yeah, I can't wait. Even though Sui is my first doll I'm getting, I can't just leave her alone. Darn dolls.
>>50492497Hello neighbor.
Has anyone tried summoning a Shikigami and binding it to a doll to act as a servitor?
>>50515792do NOT do this you will end up like the doll guy whos doll tulpa killed him
It's that time of year again.I might be addicted to gacha. But I love dolls and lucky bags.
>>50515811Alice can pull it off, surely others can.
>>50515936These always scare me because what if what I get doesnt fit my doll...
>>50515999Use it as an excuse to buy yourself a doll that's the right size for the clothes. Or Sell it.
>>50515960>evil bad bitch>has a cute doll she spoilscute
>>50515936>I get paid on FridayOh no. Oh no my money...
anyone going to get this smug dingdang?
Im glad resins are more accepted here now
>>50516164They should be the default way of thinking. Same with pirating any shit. Exclusivity and gacha-like thinking is a cancer. New girl is out? 3d scan her fucking head and upload that shit to pirate bay. Search for the make and model and source it from their chinese makers.
>>50516180Uh.. huh..? resins, not recasts...
>>50516208UV protected resin is also good as well. I still stand by my original point, recasts are OK.
It's time for the yearly update to bjd.arcesia.net! A new page for 2026 has been added and the one for 2025 will be frozen by the end of the day. I still haven't decided what photo should now grace the homepage, so please provide some suggestions, and I will pick one of them.
>>50516570>there's a website for the 4channel community>theres also a telegram community as wellholy kino, i love this general already, how can i contribute to this weirdo group?
>>50516164>>50516180>>50516208>>50516521As long as this thread doesn't implode from the resin fags, like in the /toy/ bjd thread
>>50514929>>50515001Tradition shall be maintained. Shinku stays in the team!
>>50516979It will, they cant help themselves, it's in a resin fags nature to drama bomb any thread or forum they're posting in. It's why the toy thread is still dead. Vinyl dolls are chill and resin dolls are drama magnets. Simple as.
>>50515936>>50516156I bought three lucky bags, except for one which sold out quickly. One Wig Lucky Bag with 5 random wigsOne 40cm Lucky Bag with 2 Clothing Sets and ShoesAnd One 60cm Lucky Bag with 5 random clothing pieces
>>50518531>randomIt's just stuff they can't sell.
>>50515792
>>50519738thats a beautiful time lapse!
Unfortunately after developing, I found that the red exposure of this trichrome had the top portion of its sheet exposed in its film holder. I did what I could in digital manipulations to recover it. Better than I expected I could get out of it, but still not ideal. I can just call it F I L M A E S T H E T I C, I guess.
>>50516164I really like my resin doll. I've had her for almost 2 years now and have had zero problems with staining. And the resin shows subtle detail very well. I didn't much care for them back in the day since they just weren't my style looks wise, but there's a ton of cute anime style sculpts now. I still prefer the more chill otaku focused vinyl crowd though over the resin harpies. I actually got to get into photography at some point and take some pics.
>>50520156Accidental Instagram Filter on filmIt's a vibe. The composition and posing are cute as heck though.
>>50517954It wasn't even the resinfags specifically, some dickhead kept intentionally starting drama over recasts.
Posting my face up here since someone asked for it. I don’t know that this is the optimal way to paint dolls, this is just what I do for garage kits. Started by sealing the head with Mr Color matte and sketched the design lightly in pencil. Sorry if it’s hard to see.
>>50520611I used gold enamel paint for the lashes using the enamel over lacquer technique. You can paint outside the lines and then clean up the excess with enamel thinner and it won’t affect the lacquer (Mr Hobby) underneath. Left is before, right is after.
>>50520626More details added. I apply the lacquer sealer each time before moving on to a new enamel color, so the top layers can be painted and removed without affecting anything underneath.
>>50520635Nice highlightsI was skeptical of the gold at first, now I'm sold
>>50520635Finally I applied pastel shading around the cheeks, eyes, chin, and forehead. Still waiting on the eyes to come in, I ordered some with the rest of the doll but I changed my mind on the color. I’ll post a completed pic after that
>>50520644Thanks! Straight gold looks a bit odd but once you add a matte top coat it really softens up
>>50520654damn she's really cute anon. Can't wait to see her complete with eyes and wig
>>50520156cute! i like it, kind of vintage meets vaporwave >>50520611cute, looking forward to seeing her completed! the gold and white are giving me kawaii she-ra vibes. thanks for sharing, anon!
>>50511572>>50514644Nice, congratulations! I managed to get my order through during the first wave too.Thank you again for the drawing! Happy New Year ~desu!>>50513856>It is surprising that they did a 4th run of SuiIs it? I don't remember Shinku trending in Japan after the release like Suiseiseki did.>>50515301Can't wait already.
Unfortunately due to a sudden housing issue I've had to delay ordering Karin. I know it's unlikely she'll be in stock in about a years time but I'm really hoping..
go into debt for dolls
>>50522476I was considering just getting a 1/6 or smaller but it feels wrong to do so
>>50514776>>50521960I seem to not be able to open that drawing, only the thumbnail, can you Anons see it? If not, I can upload it on catbox for the full image. And yea, kinda surprised it will arrive in 2026 instead of 2027. A bit nervous, but I'm ready!
>>50522490get a little blind box doll off aliex theyre cute and theres a bunch of different styles and stuff
>>50522529I do like them but I don't like hard hair. I just want a scaled down Dollfie type doll to get me through ;_;
>>50522537theres ones with normal hair too like this and oioi studio ones, both really cheap tooikwum though id like to get a tinyfox for an mdd like 1/6 some day but theyre a bit pricey for me
>>50522567ohh who is she? thank you for the suggestions I will investigate
>>50522685she comes up under 四季の喫茶物語 for me, theres a lot of different colors too
>>50522694thank you so much, I really appreciate you
>>50522118Karin is a standard model, so she's not likely to go anywhere anytime soon. Hang in there, anon. Make sure you're safe and sound before taking in a doll.
>>50522703you too sister make sure to post pics if you get one!
>>50522788it says on volks site that she was discontinued "The production of the long-loved Standard Model "DDS Karin (DD-f³)" will end in September 2025.From now on, sales will end once all stores are sold out."A new century"

That pic shows her hair with so much styling gel on.>>50522118>>50522943Sometimes they re-release a "renewal" version. It can always wait. You might even find one in the second hand market for slightly cheaper.
>get my first paycheck of the year>pay bills>nothing left for so much as a delivery sandwichI know it will get easier but I miss being able to buy things for fun. I'm not even a young person, this is one of many jobs in my life. It's just hard these days, I think. One day I will get new doll clothes. I hope all of you can get lots of nice things for your dolls -- or maybe even your first doll -- this year.
>>50524469it's too expensive a hobby for me at the moment, so i'm making virtual ones for vrchat instead
what's the best place to buy pure neemo 2 emotion bodies from in the us?
>>50525549Does Amiami have them? It's where I usually find Azone stuff, but it's also been a few years so someone else probably knows better than I do on that front.
