Hung over tourist civillian psyfag here. I'm going to reframe this question.

There's "notify ncis that flags for future gun sales".
This is somewhat state specific and also depends on active duty status. But we're talking about in the class of "involuntary psychological hold". Even that is not necessarily a block, but may be a delay.

The standard there also varies somewhat by state, and is something like "Threat to yourself,/others, Immediate threat. Has a specific target. Has a specific plan".

There's also Psychological competence.

Beyond that, the "get a judge to sign off on something seizing your shit", and "get the police to enforce that" are extraordinary standards that I've personally never seen without felonies for violent convictions, which is it's own standard. Even then, you could mittigate that, by having a lawyer ready, and a trusted friend you could transfer your guns to in an emergency.

So, whatever stress and problems you have, you have an objective of staying on top of your shit at LEAST enough to stay the fuck away from

>THREAT TO YOURSELF. AVOID SELF HARM. AVOID SUICIDE.

There's a huge gap between say, partial psychological disability enough to count as disabled by government standards, and being so fucked that you require a 3 or 14 day stay in a psych facility for them to check to make sure you arent' fucked. That's a very, very high standard to hit. Your average street bum in in the subway generally isn't hitting that level.

Again, this one can be mitigated with a lawyer. If you have your shit together enough to pay for your own lawyer, and particularly your own psy second opinion that says you're ok, then who the fuck is the state to say otherwise?

So, you get the vibe? Don't fuck up enough that you get your own brain relieved of command for a few days. Work on any problems you have, with drinking, with drugs. Work on making sure any violent thoughts and actions are properly in check. Manage stress levels BEFORE blowups. Remove yourself from potential conflicts BEFORE blowups, even if they're not your fault.

See a psychological professional if you need it, and change the ones you see if the ones you have aren't working for you, as there's a huge range of techniques and competence.

And artillery.
Jeep willys vs vw kubblewagon.
>>
the k wagon was a staff car pushed into the combat role, they're not really comparable as combat vehicles. Its was probably nicer to drive than the jeep because of its shocks and seats, but the loss of 4wd and about half its horsepower would not be worthwhile.
>>
>>64704068
The kubo wagon was more fuel efficient and 4wd was not an issue because it was transaxle.
The sheer mechanical simplicity hives it the edge over the jeep the fact that an engine swap can be sone in minutes is practical.
>>
>>64704106
Fuel efficiency matters to poverty stricken armies like the Wehrmacht, the jeep was the more practical, useful and adaptable vehicle.

The protection of the Leo 1 was its superior mobility and firepower through better sensors and firecontrol systems. Having 70mm of steel armour or 140mm wont make a difference if you get hit but the chances of you getting hit are smaller if you move faster and dont get stuck so easily.

Pistol related but last question thread died a while ago. Are all 1911 .45 barrels interchangeable with all other 1911 models? I've got a Kimber and want a threaded barrel for it and I'm wondering if I should just get a Kimber barrel for it.

What gun? You can't physically get your head low enough to do that on an AR for example, but bolt actions place the comb at such a height that it's expected to mount the scope as low as possible and have the eyebox line up with nominal physiology

Its on an ACR. desu when shouldering it, it doesn't seem bad at all. Guess I'll have to take it to the range to see if I like it this way or not. Might just be me since I'm a small person.
>>
>>64704712
All that matters is that it's comfortable for you, and that you can place your eye into the eyebox while in the shooting positions you use most
>>
>>64704712
Is the end of the scope touching the rail or is it just stupid close?
>>
What happens if you fire a SA revolver after only drawing the hammer through three clicks?
I was able to find on Google that what makes the third click is apparently "the bolt leg slipping off of the cam and the bolt engaging the cylinder" but what is the difference between the third and fourth? Is there any? I have to imagine there's some difference, or else why have the fourth click at all?
The two stages are so close together that realistically it's unlikely that someone would draw only to the third click completely by accident, but I'm still curious. Unlike the first and second clicks, on the third one, the trigger is able to drop the hammer seemingly as normal.

What went wrong?

I've considered trying my hand at babby's first gunsmithing project and converting my shotgun to semi/pump, maybe I'm missing something but wouldn't it be significantly easier to just do something like this for a manual pump option?
>But what if it attempts to fire with the pump back?
I may be overlooking something simple, but the bolt release button should be physically blocked with this design until the pump is far enough forward the charging handle can't hit the pump action anyway.

The SPAS-12 is gas operated, and the pump-slide simply pulls the piston back when you use it in manual mode.
>>
>>64704934
Yeah that silly thing isn't so much a pump/semi as a semi (but you can pump), I had the idea since I was having issues with some low power shells cycling and thought it would be convenient. As retarded as that idea is it's just a chunk of plastic/metal/whatever you can slap on an unmodified gun, I'm not so sure if I'd want to risk putting a homemade gas cutoff on a perfectly serviceable semi auto shotgun.
>>
>>64701388
>Based autoloader enjoyer. Be it an AR15 or any shotgun, it just feels so fucking good, so fucking right, to hit that bolt release and let that fucker slam home and load a cartridge.

doubling on a suppressor+earpro would also make it hearing safe when earpro or the can alone wouldn't
>>
>>64704959
I refuse to shoot indoors nowadays because literally no combo of ears and silencer can prevent damage via bone transmission for some guns...
>>
>>64704789
My biggest hope is that 4473s go away, or at least suppressors aren't treated as firearms, sometime this year.
And, of course, the death of the nfa and atf.

>>64704970
as an enlightened centrist, I think we need a -stronger- background check, BUT once like you have a few guns and have had em for a long time, it makes zero sense to do another check *if you still have those original guns*.

Dramatically increase the number of anti-tank weapons available per company (preferably per platoon). That or train them in improvised ways of destroying AT-ATs that don't consist of CIRCLING THE FUCKING THING WITH A CABLE.

Seriously, just about any one of those Rebs could have, with proper timing, replicated Luke Skywalker's stunt with a grappling gun, a plasma torch, and a thermal detonator. Even the fucking Ewoks were stacking AT-STs with logs.
