Its a bot dont acknowledge it. Neat gun op

It's a good thing we don't live in the timeline where China rescued my favorite gun from being slavshit or I'd have to call them my spiritual brethren during the next war.

It is interesting that they even looked into the concept enough to make a distinct prototype, but quickly landed at the same conclusion. Shit is just way too complicated and not worth it.

I still think Russia only ever "adopted" the AN-94 as a clever scheme to steal money while not really adopting anything. Looks impressive, sounds revolutionary, costs a fortune, money is paid up front but the new rifle never shows up and the AK-74 remains in service instead. It was the 1990s, that money never got to Izhevsk and what little did only bought a small production run.

Cool good find op

Anyone here actually use D-Lead products, or any leadremovers in general?
I am currently looking at wipes, hand soap, body wash & shampoo, laundry detergent, and a lot more but theres too many to name...How many should I buy, and should I just buy all of them to be safe?
I shoot a fair amount and I’m going to be shooting way more this year than I ever have, and I'm starting to wonder how paranoid I should be about lead exposure...Because I’ve heard horror stories about young dudes who shot their whole lives, never wore gloves, never washed right, ate at the range, reloaded bare-handed and endedup with fcknCANCER or straight up DEAD a few decades later from lead poisoning.

>Is this a legit concern, or am I turning into a schizo?
>What precautions actually matter (ventilation, washing hands, changing clothes), and what’s overkill?
>I also have Pets, and I don't want them getting sick either.

As I thought, wearing a ffp2 or ffp3 (use one with a ventilator) would be a good way to protect yourself against aerosolized lead, which should be pretty high in an indoor range. Some kind of particle safe glasses would be good too. You can wash ffp2/3 masks with lead removing whatever and recycle them but they cant be used before they are completely dry which will take a while in room temperature.

Most of this lead should be from primers so its aerosolized very hot fine particles. You cant really dodge this if you are indoors. BTW, I read a study that claimed that lead poisoning first leads to negative personality changes (recklessness and selfishness), before it starts to affect IQ. The boomers huffed enormous amounts of aerosolized _organic_ lead and metallic lead from gasoline additives, as a generation, they are all lead poisoned. So were the greatest and the silents before them. First generation that had a reduced lead exposure are mid to late gen X, depending on where in the world you live. First lead free generation is millenials, again, depending on where you live.

So yeah, lead poisoning is bad because it turns people into boomers. I think thats enough reason to completely ban lead primers.
Oh. I found the study. This is for kids, but they are affected at lower level than adults, so this should translate over to adults as well.

"Of key importance for policy makers (and parents) choosing between remediating
investments following early lead exposure, we also present evidence shedding some
light on the impact on the inputs through which low levels of lead exposure affects adult
outcomes. We find that low levels of early lead exposure do primarily seem to influence

Wear gloves, use d lead, dont eat/drink when cleaning guns or reloading.
>>

>For adult level exposure, you have to be pretty careless for it to be a problem.

Even low levels of lead exposure should be avoided because it leads to negative personality changes. And when you get older, your brain starts to decline, and the last thing you want is to combine this brain decline with lead poisoning. You can offset this decline with peptides, medications and supplements but very very few people do this because they dont understand whats happening to them. Eventually the combination of lead poisoning and brain ageing will turn you into the boomer walrus that somehow seems to be stuck in 40 years ago.

Lead is a psychoactive drug, just like LSD, pot, hallucinogenics etc. People completely ignore this because they are not intentionally consuming lead to get high or whatever.
>>
>>64755641
It's not like it flies around on its own, and it's not as hazardous as some people seem to think. All you need to do is avoid eating it, and that's pretty damn simple. Throw dirty patches in the trash. Black powder fouling contains little lead, it's mostly soot and other byproducts from the inefficient detonation of black powder. Dump it on the ground, pour it down the drain, it's fine. We're not talking organic lead here.

>>64755645
>organic lead is dangerous
>therefore we should ban all lead
brilliant logic there socrates
>>
>>64754353
>Anyone here actually use D-Lead products, or any leadremovers in general?
Yes. I used a lead test and my entire house was contaminated. Light switches, door knobs, etc.
Since then ive been using a lot of lead remediation cleaner throughout my home, vehicles and in my workshop

I like your rig, easy to put on, not too deep, can easily attach hydration on the back or a backpack, all you'd really gain from the caf is an extra row of grenade size pouches on the mags and the small gp on the utility pouches. Probably not worth, maybe you could ghetto rig an extra pouch on your current setup.

I'm mostly Irish though. My family came to America during the famine. The Irish people, especially the diaspora, deserve more hate than they get. Some of the Palestinian/Libyan operations were bankrolled by wealthy Irishmen living in America. This is to say nothing about the natives that threw all that effort away in the last 30 years

That's why you need the vertical silos and shallow water. A sub's vertical silos basically ram the missile out with a mass of air.
>>64754647
Yeah, that's basically what I was going for. Unfortunately, we don't have the supertechnology for Valks.
>>
>>64754231
About when we get to 7th gen fighters & the like ... maybe? Current designs would probably be impossible to retrofit, but no telling what alien tech will be around come 22nd century. Even some kind of rudimentary "force field" (maybe with some kind of super magnetic fields) combined with a more streamline manta ray like or saucer shape would seem to put it into the realm of theoretical possibility. If people started playing with drone designs now it might even be possible in some form right now on a small scale, or perhaps a micro scale. No real need to have living pilots when drone tech is evolving so fast right now. Think in terms of something the size of a hubcap, and a sub mothership that can launch several thousand of them.
>>
>>64754231
yeah
>>
>>64754595
>counter productive because part of the value of a carrier battle group is being a big fucking stick that stands out and exerts pressure just by sitting off the coast of some country we're unhappy with. Having it be secret spoils all that.
Not necessarily. Have a surface carrier group for show & intimidation, have half a dozen subs underwater so when you do launch there's suddenly ten times more force in the air than previously imagined. Plus, subs can launch cruise missile, also, in support of all the aircraft.

A surface carrier group is vulnerable to nukes &/or MOAB. But from the burning wreckage floating on the surface suddenly a few hundred drones, planes, and missiles burst forth. Bit of a plot twist.

nigger, every ham radio boomer within your state will tattle and have an FCC agent at your door
>>
>>64755608
Only if it's somewhere that'll bother a random passersby. You could probably get away with it if the area affected is entirely on your property since it's not inherently dangerous and if someone loses a drone you can ask why they were flying a drone over your property without permission.
>>
>>64755632
yeah but you would probably be jamming yourself if you don't know enough about frequencies
>>
>>64755637
If it's a drone jammer it would only jam drone frequencies. Turn it off before flying any drones and you're golden.
>>
>>64755632
People don't need your permission to fly over your property. You don't own the airspace. The only time they might run into legal issues is if they're recording or loitering over your yard or house. Power company inspection drones fly over my property at least once per month and spend more time over my my boomer neighbor's larger lot and it pisses him off but he has contacted all manner of agency and they've all told him fuck off it's legal.

Two questions, what would be the first steps to take to join the US military as a Brit? Ours is appallingly bad in morale, funding, structure and reputation. Secondly, this might sound retarded but can you choose to join the cavalry? Air cav "We Were Soldiers" stuff, fly in rather then ride in.

Can you guys please help understand what the post-service employment landscape is like for officers who join at an older age? I posted here a while back asking if it would be a mistake to join the army as an officer at 33 as I’m working at a university and struggling to advance. I see veterans with otherwise similar backgrounds to me getting accelerated career tracks because they are veterans but they all served right after college or right before. I’m really having a hard time figuring out if I can still get the same boost at this point or if that ship has sailed for me. FWIW I’m working in research, no PhD, a lot of this stuff is DoD funded. All of the department heads and supervisors are vets. All of the super high wage high skill employees under them are vets. All the people on the path to high level university leadership from here are vets.

Perfect. Found Finnish M05 Snow that is a one-off reproduction jacket that seems my size. Might just get that to start with. No idea what I'll do for pants but I wish you didn't have to be a soldier to legally own clothes that cheap and that good. It's just not fair.

There is nearly always a camo/uniform/milsurp thread up on /k/ on any given day, just post there unless you're opening a big topic that isn't covered.

M84 hasn't been in active service for years, and wearing it sterile is unlikely to get any frowns, let alone fines. Wearing the desert M01 under any circumstance is autistically frowned on by the vets unless you got it issued
IIRC, fines are only issued if you can reasonably be thought to be impersonating a soldier (so presumably full uniform with insignia). I've never heard of anyone getting fined for wearing a pair of M84 pants while hiking or his Arktis jacket off duty or whatever.
