>In Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that "Japan's leadership is attempting to accelerate militarization," with reference to increased defense spending under the Sanae Takaichi administration. Amid escalating Japan-China tensions, he expressed Russia's firm support for China's position on the Taiwan issue, inferred that Russia would provide China with military assistance in bringing Taiwan back under China's control, and made veiled threats about the consequences of Japan interfering.

>This appears to refer to Prime Minister Takaichi's parliamentary response regarding a Taiwan contingency potentially constituting a "survival-threatening situation," the Japanese government's proposal of a record-high defense budget for fiscal 2026, and considerations to revise the three non-nuclear principles. Lavrov pointed out that the "acceleration of militarization" under the Takaichi administration "will clearly have a negative impact on regional stability."

I am under no delusion that Russia's much-diminished military could provide any meaningful aid to a Chinese marine invasion of Taiwan. Nor am I deluded enough to believe that this is anything more than lip service from Russia to China--probably directly requested by China--in relation to China's crashout over the Japanese PM stating that Japan would defend Taiwan from invasion as a matter of national self-preservation.

However, I hope that statements like these from Russia convince Japanese that they have skin in the game, that it is better to kill Russians in Ukraine than in Hokkaido, and that Japan should start sending real military aid to Ukraine.

I know the population is going to go ape shit at the mere mention of us getting nukes but fuck do we need some, like sixty years ago we should of gotten them
>>

In my opinion what we specifically need is miniaturised hydrogen bombs capable of being fired from submarines, as this will allow us a survivable second strike capability without the enormous cost of big dick silo launched ICBMs and whatnot
Like you say though its the political issues that are the real problem here, I'm hoping trumps behaviour over the remaining 3 years of his term helps convince people to get over that particular hangup

>if it was they would be receiving sufficient aid
Aid ends when you have to pay real money or are forced to weaken yourself, decades of dismantling European military industrail complexes result in slow production and low stockpiles in first place. When it came to vehicles only USA and ex eastern block countries had some resoanble numbers to send.

In my mind, China has already won. It's only been 1 year of Trump 2 and Germany is talking about the end of American hegemony. Even if someone else tries to steer things back to normal in 2028, the damage is already done to America's allies. Nobody trusts or believes in America anymore. Japan might not be the only country looking for nooks.

Dumb motherfuckers had literally the whole world sewed up and you voted in the most retarded people for no reason.

In what world would Trump seriously defend Taiwan? He's a pussy who doesn't want to look weak.

Bhopal was partly caused, or at least severely worsened, by the jeets taking a coffee break while they were figuring out what was wrong.

>The decision was made to address the problem after a 12:15 a.m. tea break, and in the meantime, employees were instructed to continue looking for leaks. The problem was discussed by MIC area employees during the break.[24]

>When the tea break concluded at 12:40 a.m., the reaction in tank E610 escalated to a critical state at an alarming speed within five minutes

Tank E610 would release 40 tons of methyl isocyanate, killing thousands of villagers.

So they're now down to around 500 base model T-72s that are being refurbished, plus the 1k or so really worn out T-62s and T-55s?
AFVs are a bit less clear, they must have around 4k left. But at least a third of those are in the formations around Moscow and St. Petersburg, i.e. regime security.

>Norilisk and Mayak were so bad that during an ecological and pollution review in the early 2000s where Russia basically gave the rest of their industries a free pass to continue polluting, they forced both of them to make changes and clean up their act. It was THAT uniquely bad.
Karabash deserves to be up there with them, it probably went under the radar because its a pretty small city (that is literally dying out on top), and not only because it's on the same train line as Kyshtym
>While rural areas of Chelyabinsk suffer from the effects of radioactive contamination, the urban population is faced with the impact of the chemical and metallurgical industries

SFABs were considerably less stupid than they might appear to you. They were perfected GWOT fodder. Career soldiers granted a little coziness to go with their frontline service. A full NCO structure to chase tewwoists and train browns with more numbers than SF but without retarded one-term newbies to slow them down. They were also active duty reserve units. In event of peer war, just add privates fresh out of basic and you have a full infantry brigade, without the expense of maintaining all those one-term privates in peacetime.

Military equipment adoption is a cycle. We have to relearn the same lessons every generation or two and keep repeating what we've done prior. It won't take long for people to realize that having less ammo, even if less ballistically efficient, fucking sucks and people are going to move towards smaller caliber rounds still effective at ≤300 yards and let marksmen, artillery, or air handle anything further out.

In general I think the US is learning a lot of the wrong lessons from A-Stan and Ukraine. What the fuck did Hegseth mean by deciding that Polaris OHVs are better for survivability in drone-rich environments over actually armored vehicles? The fuck?

Right.
A fiber optic cable is basically a tunnel you shine a flashlight into. A tunnel so tiny, the light has no room to bounce around in the manner it does on our macro scale. So the light comes out the other end exactly as it entered. That won't work if there are holes in the tunnel. There is absolutely no crosstalk whatsoever between these SM fibers.

But he doesn't even NEEED to have them. All he has to do is pretend to have them. This is the most dramatic part.
And this is precisely why you don't elect someone that can be blatantly blackmailed, it's just so easy to make someone dance to your tune.

They will because the still need to protect shipping lanes. Both sides will attend to interdict enemy shipping while maintain their own. China won't be able to project naval power, so they'll do it with proxies. Every rogue state and third world shit hole aligned with China will be encouraged to prey upon Western shipping and if there's nobody there to actually engage in naval patrols it'll fucking work. What's more, is that the war isn't going to start over night. There will be a build up and thus concentration of US naval assets into the Pacific, and you'll still need people to fly the flag during the build up.
>The FF(X) can only patrol home waters if there are no sub threats.

Yeah, PDs can buy NIJ certified plates for cheap as fuck using DOJ BVP grants. The grants will cover up to 50% based on need, so your local Sheriff can buy Hesco 4601s for $405 a set (assuming 10% bulk / LE discount) but you pay $900.
You cannot NIJ certify a shield, because they fall under NIJ 0108.01 and not 0101.06, so PDs need to pay full price. Take a Hesco 4601, make it a 20x30 Level IV shield, you're at over $4.5k. Shields use expensive materials, and a lot of them, because weight is on a premium. Many ceramic shields use Silicon Carbide, which is very expensive from American sources but barely more expensive than Alumina from Chinese sources. Jinwudun sells big III+ SiC shields for only $1,200, and last I checked, they're still paying import charges for you. 20x35.5" windowed one here:
https://jinwudun.com/products/nij-iii-bulletproof-shield-silicon-carbide-ceramic-material-spray-polyurea-layer
Five monopoly bucks says they'll make a Level IV version if you ask, but it'll need to be wheeled unless you're the T-1000.

Cool, thanks. In your opinion, or anyone else who reads this, is there any reason to get the 3612 over the 3810? More or less the same weight, thickness, and price, but the 3810 offers slightly more protection being able to take a 7.62x63mm JSP round.
Also, generally speaking how much space is inside of plate carrier pockets thickness wise? Since these plates are light, I was wondering if I could put backers in for some more protection
>>
>>64689373
>is there any reason to get the 3612 over the 3810? More or less the same weight, thickness, and price
They're rather redundant. 3612 is slightly lighter and somewhat cheaper, but loses out on 7.62x54R LPS and .30-06 JSP. If those two aren't a problem then 3612 is the better buy. 3811 is much lighter but is significantly more expensive.
>generally speaking how much space is inside of plate carrier pockets thickness wise?
Rule of thumb is that you don't start running into fit issues until the plates are 1.15" and up, but that depends on the carrier. Plates thicker than 1.2" are iffy. My Protech 2230s for example need to be worked into my TT vest and they're 1.2" flat. Once in I can squeeze IIIA backers behind them.
>I was wondering if I could put backers in for some more protection
That will reduce BFD but not likely increase threat level by a substantial amount. At that combined weight you'd perhaps want to look at LTC 19513s or Hesco 3411s which add M855A1 protection.

I need a safe for muh gunz. It needs to be able to be wall stabilized or not a tipping hazard. Needs to be able to fix six rifles, and around a dozen pistols. Other room for bullshit like mags and ammo, and bullion would be ideal. It doesn't need to be high end, it's quite literally only being purchased so small children cannot access it with ease. Tucker and Fuentues will be calling for an end to the conflict, blaming the sitting president, fox news or CNN will be railing the administration 24/7 depending on which party is in office. America has no chance unless they have some super weapon that can cripple China instantly.
