The outer shell is 3/4in hardened steel, there is a fireproof layer (I assume asbestos batting, the safe was made in the 50s for a jewelry store in Kansas, apparently it routinely held $25mil+ in diamonds and cash), and the inner wall is 1/4in hardened steel. My guns are safer than anything else a I own.
