So... the Chinese Navy is definitely ahead of the US Navy now? Am I hearing this right? Given that the future of Naval combat is likely going to be centred around missile saturation, and US is rapidly falling behind the already in-production Chinese Type 55's and just cancelled it's planned equivalent for this retarded, inefficient Trump thing, is it safe to say that the US Navy would straight up lose to China is ~10 years time?

Insecure cope of burger mutts on /k/ as really reached toxic levels.
Proper moderation would dish out bans for this shit and clean up the threads.
The only moderation I notice on /k/ is constant deletion and bans for anything even that could even be remotely interpreted as positive about chinese systems.
Meanwhile redneck mutts spam implessive and unrelated racist insults totally unbothered.

The US has nothing even remotely close to a 055.
The TICOs have half the VLS volume, and they're 30 years older with 3x the crew requirement and manual systems.
Read the Gettysburg report, they're tired old ships.

Gonna be real funny if China actually aims for 6 Type 004 carriers by 2035 considering the first 004 will be their first nuclear powered carrier and they are apparently aiming for 4-5 EMALS on the deck.

For comparison the Type 003 was laid down somewhere between March 2015 and Feb 2016 and was commissioned 2 months ago.
As of 3 months it looks like they've actually started building the 004. So if everything goes well China will have 1 by 2035 maybe
>>
>The US has badly mismanaged its future fleet replacement programs and the current administration is gearing up to do something extra retarded
>The chinese navy is not some unstoppable juggernaut and heavily relies on swarms of shorter range vessels and converted civilian shipping

Both of these can be true

Pistol related but last question thread died a while ago. Are all 1911 .45 barrels interchangeable with all other 1911 models? I've got a Kimber and want a threaded barrel for it and I'm wondering if I should just get a Kimber barrel for it.

I got a Leupold scope (4.5-14x40) but not a good mount for it. Originally it was on a bolt gun but I want it for another gun. Is there necessarily anything wrong with the scope being flat against the top rail?

What gun? You can't physically get your head low enough to do that on an AR for example, but bolt actions place the comb at such a height that it's expected to mount the scope as low as possible and have the eyebox line up with nominal physiology

He succeeded at Inchon because the Norks were certain that nobody could be dumb enough bet all their chips on such a risky place to land. Their Russian advisors tried to tell them that he *was* that dumb, but they wouldn't listen, and left Inchon without sufficient defenses.

On the other hand, there are indications hidden throughout his HQ's files that *after* goofing up the Philippines, *after* making lots of noise demanding a fresh army so he could throw it away against the IJA, he settled down and quietly struck some sort of Faustian bargain with key members of his staff, whereupon he let them do whatever they felt was necessary, while he took all the credit for it (and hid the details of what they were doing from the Pentagon, so nobody would be the wiser). There are scattered reports filed away that survived the war and are occasionally found by researchers suggesting that his team was ahead of almost everybody on the planet in terms of sophisticated planning for things like EW and operational-level maneuver.

So, yeah, he's a very mixed bag. Flashes of brilliance (mostly in finding good subordinates and giving them free reign), together with absolute incompetence and boundless arrogance.

i heard there were some laws against "training" with gear and shit in Canada
>>
>>64704616
Only if you do it with other people. And only if you are doing a combination of things (tactics, pt, shooting) Then it becomes "militia" training.
>>
>>64704616
you can get your anus investigated for "MILITARY AND MILITIA STYLE DRILLS AND TRAINING" which is arbitrary enough to mean almost anything, you can claim airsoft most of the time but again they can try to fuck you if they don't like the look of your penis after inspection
if you're "militia training" while also posting your little funny hitler memes and other retardation on telegram you are absolutely going to get fucked because now you're a political problem

armour is PPE like your shooting glasses and earpro as long as your area of the country isn't gay and retarded (the east) you can wear it no problem and you only need your gun license to legally own it
I want around the woods in full body armour and camo, no one says shit, neighbours are chill, never had a fish cop finger my anus, but I'm up north on the coast so your experience may vary

Someone in this country sure seems paranoid about being overthrown violently, huh? Wonder why they'd be so scared of that...

It's also retarded but at least the man is open about their intentions, versus the states where literally every single 'militia' group is a honeypot. All of them. No hyperbole.

I have a big boar 50 that is a nice gun (I bought it because of tremors and jurassic park). I have wanted to get one of their 1911s but prices went stupid on them around covid and even a beat to shit 45 win mag was around $1500, and i'd rather not have a 45 win mag just because that's a pain to find evaporate.

I was told freedom group bought out grizzly for their equipment and then sat on them because they were cancer. Not sure if that's true but fuck them anyway.

If it's under 2500 i'd probably do a 50 or 44. No idea what the price will be if it isn't vaporware.

>>

It’s not AI. you have no idea what kind of firearm horrors exist.

My mom got scared in 2020 and decided she wants to buy a gun. She unwisely consulted her boomer Facebook friend for suggestions, and he recommended something called a circuit judge. It’s a stocked revolver rifle in 357. They’re real and there are real people who like these guns and think they’re useful, and maybe even optimal for home defense.

How effective were these things? Obsidian is said to be extremely sharp and multiple edges instead of one straight blade might be extremely painful.

>ACKCHYUALLY stone weapons are really good
Bullshit contrarian take. People often get dewy eyed over history's losers, and it results in overly romantic and positive assessments of things that have been lost.
>>
>>64658840
I don’t even wanna know why whoever took that picture had to be pantsless to do so…
>>
>>64703435
Wouldn't really make any sense. This weapon is what it is because of what they had available to them and what they knew how to make, and it's extremely clever, but ONLY within that context.
If you had access to the resources, tools, and knowhow, to make steel, then you could just make a conventional sword instead, which is just plain better.

>>64703447
I'd say that they're good for what they are, it's impressive that they developed a workable sword substitute without any good metal or metalworking. But ultimately, it's just refined caveman technology, and it has too many drawbacks.
I'd love to own a good replica just because I think it's an interesting historical weapon, but if I was forced into a sword fight and got to pick my weapon, I would pick some cutlass, saber, or dao of some sort.
>>
>>64703435
>>64703814
A steel macuahuitl would pretty much just be a normal sword, as people have pointed out, most Macuahuitl didn't have big gaps between the blades or anything, apparently

I’m pretty used to heavy recoil, just not in that light a platform. I do enjoy some stupid recoil though.

Honestly I didn’t think they were this cheap.. but I’m tempted to get the 50 ae version. Oddly I picked up a 50 ae RCBS die set today for 100$ off of a Facebook marketplace sale because it also came with 200 Speer 325gn jhp’s and 50 300 gn Speer gold dots.. which is enough 500 magnum food to get me through about 2 years of shooting for a bit less than half the factory price.. pretty sure I can’t really use those in 500 bushwacker without risking it ripping the jackets off, but I’ll probably try some test loads…. So Im already set to load for it minus some 50 ae brass… on the other hand I’ve wanted to get a 45-70 something for a pretty long while… between 444 marlin, 460 xvr and 500 mag/bushwacker I’ve got it surrounded…

Seems like one would be fun, and it’s gonna be a while before any of my other gun projects get to the shooting stage..

all submarines face the same forces (water pressure) and threats (sonar)

when one submarine gets it right and is a real improvement in hull shape everyone quickly copies it for the next few decades

if I had to guess the teardrop gives better internal volume and maybe the slab side is less sonar reflective than a tube, like stealth aircraft

Canada does not even use its current subs. Canada also constantly lies, double deals, cancels programs, despite the same retards in office.
