I was surprised to learn that the modern Swiss guard only came into being in the 20s or so, prior to thay it was all ceremonial staffed by volunteers from rome who happened to be Swiss or something.

>>64748660
"Mercenery" is such a broad term that you can find examples and counterexamples all through history. Even during the golden age of mercenaries in Africa you had wayward ww2 vets fighting alongside Vietnam vets and unemployed neverserved British men from deindustrializing towns.

These African guys seem more like impressed soldiers than any sort of experienced professional.

Ukraine just destroyed a power plant in Novocherkassk, rostov
2 replies omitted. Click here to view.
>>
>>64748869
Looks like a pretty small fire for a 'destroyed' facility of that size, although hitting infrastructure at all is good for Ukes.
Unless this fire is on something critically important or wound up spreading a lot more it's almost certainly fixable. Of course knowing Russians it'd be impossible for me to guess at how long it'd take.
>t. retard who works in manufacturing
>>
>Novocherkassk
where is that?

>that's burning transformer oil
afaik transformers are harder to replace than to destroy the actual boilers and such
>>
>>64748909
To be fair, transformers are their targets, since russia has no means of securing replacements (since ukraine already bought up any excess global supply for the next few years at least, lmao)
>>
>mfw we have a 36kV to 400V transformer at work sitting unused since they switched to 11kV
how would one go about smuggling such a thing out, and selling it while staying under the radar?
>>
>>64748927
Do it in the open by selling to Ukraine, they still need them because global manufacturing can't keep up with the demands of this war.

It doesn't matter when you stay inside the normal operating range (the linear portion of the transfer graph) for the amp. Tube amps are only interesting in the way they behave when overdriven.
There's this dude called Richard Clark who has a $10,000 challenge to spot a difference between a tube amp and a digital. No one has won yet.
>>
>>64748859
>There's this dude called Richard Clark who has a $10,000 challenge to spot a difference between a tube amp and a digital. No one has won yet.
That sounds a little suspect to me. Even if there was no difference, someone should have guessed correctly by random chance.
>>
>>64748920
It's not a 50/50 yes or no kind of thing. I hate statistics so someone else will have to explain it but it's probably something like ten randomized A/B comparisons and you have to guess correct more than random chance percentage.
>>
>>64748920
>Even if there was no difference, someone should have guessed correctly by random chance.
Of course. It is (or was) a double blind test where you have to get more than half comparisons correct out of a dozen or two, so the result is statistically significant. You can find the full rules on the net.

The issue is that most bags use zippers. Meanwhile the shit like OP uses Velcro and is specifically located in a spot where you can just slip your hand inside and grab the grip since it's intended for you to do that. Pretty much everything larger is zippers, with a large compartment and then smaller zippered ones inside. If you wanna Grey Man, you're throwing important time away on a pack you to swing around, unzip at least one compartment, and then fish for the pistol from probably a less than ideal orientation to get it to fit in there.
>>
>>64748561
>The issue is that most bags use zippers.
won't argue that, putting your carry gun behind a zipper is dumb. They make these bags with both zipper and velcro compartment.

I'll have to keep my eyes peeled then. Its a shame there aren't more bullpup bolties out there.

The length of pull was awful, the safety was shit, the trigger was just outright bad and the height over bore felt like it was treated like an understatement when talked about online.
>>
>>64747067
it does seem like they have to thicken up the receiver area to prevent a concussive effect to the user. they also typically have a 20+ inch steel barrel running through them, plus the trigger bar.
>>
>>64742399
Just get a bullpup chassis for a bolt action, I know they have some for the Remington 700. The FIMS straight pull .308 bullpups are neat too. Desert Tech has their head too far up their ass with those ridiculous prices for bolt actions.

I have both the M110 and SCAR. I prefer the SCAR. KNS discarder (13 pos gas selector) is a game changer for the weapons system. I can easily tune the gun to any silencer and any ammo type rapidly. The M110 looks sick but its a pig dipped in mud.
