Would going to an Appleseed course be worth it? I've never had any instruction in shooting and there's a few coming up within driving distance so the cost would be low. I'd use a 10/22 with an LVPO.It kind of seems like it's all old people and kids in the basic courses, though admittedly, that's probably better than getting there and finding a bunch of spergs my own age trying to look cool. I doubt I'll find a more accessible form of training but I'm not sure if this is the best format. Like how much is shooting and how much is just listening to the instructors give a history lesson?I also understand they put a lot of emphasis on sling use but the USGI sling they use seems pretty clunky from some of the videos I've seen so I may never swap to it but I do think having someone actually watching and give me feedback might help, especially if it's assumed I have no knowledge upon arrival.Anyone that's been to one want to give your impressions?
>>64756990>I've been mentally tallying the cost of stuff like rain gear (the class is in April and it'll almost certainly be raining) and cases/bags/electronic earpro and I'm looking more than that in gear alone if I want to be decently prepared. You're gonna need most of that to go shooting anyway, man. That's not class prep, that's general touching-grass prep. All you need to do to pay it off is go hiking or find some BLM land nearby to practice the principles you learn in the class.
>>64753932I thought it was worth it enough to go to a second one but not a third. History parts were alright, well delivered by the volunteers at the ones I went to. Felt like about 1/3 shooting, 1/3 instruction, 1/3 history and lunch was included. There are slings other than the USGI that can be used for loop-style support (Rifle-Craft RS-2 pictured) or you can use a modern two-point around your back just fine. Magnification would have made it way easier. Bring water or gatorade, eyesight is the first thing to suffer when dehydrated.
>>64756990>flipping the gun over or clamping it between your legs to adjust the strapThis means the strap was installed incorrectly. It is adjustable with one hand if installed correctly.
>>64753932>Would going to an Appleseed course be worth it?yeah it's pretty fun >It kind of seems like it's all old people and kids in the basic courses, yeah when I went to it about half were boomers. no kids but a lot of olds> Like how much is shooting and how much is just listening to the instructors give a history lesson?you do a lot of shooting. it's 2 days I think they give you an estimate on how many rounds you are going to shoot, it's a lot>I also understand they put a lot of emphasis on sling use but the USGI sling they use seems pretty clunkythey're like $10 or $20 so it's not that big of a deal if you use it for the class and then never again
>>64756990>Some of the videos I've seen have you flipping the gun over or clamping it between your legs to adjust the strap and it seems inconvenient. I might put it on my 10/22 or a sporter but I like front carry for my AR and it looks like the USGI is over the shoulder onlyit takes like 2 seconds, you just need to turn the loop sideways and then stick your arm through. the only thing that sucks is if your gun isn't free floated it fucked with your PoI
Could this realistically work?

>>64754231The whole point of being stealthy is to be able to get closer to the enemy without detection, and if you're closer you might as well just stick rockets to the bombs the aircraft would be carrying and cut out the middle man.

>>64754622@grok you stupid clown. You are fund by Pakistan. I gave you order but why you did not listen to me
>20 years ago>People constantly felate the F22, claiming its the plane version of jesus.>Constantly disparage the F35 saying its a an expensive boondongle that can't fight and is shit and is worse in every way to the f22 and they should have just made more f22s instead of axing the program>Today>People lament that the f22 is underutilized as it never gets any engagements>Still question the value of F35 despite its multiple successes in infiltrating enemy held airspace and leading ground attack missions in heavily defended adversary airspace. Its time you admit that F35 is the superior aircraft.
>>64758921You absolutely are seething
>>64757477Why does /k/ constantly spam this? This isn't true. The RCS is greater, the top speed is lower, the acceleration is lower, the flight ceiling is lower, the range is lower, the payload capacity is smaller, its radar is made of identical materials but is smaller and has less electrical power. What you get in exchange is strike capability independent of supporting assets, which is important but in no way whatsoever makes the plane "better". They do different jobs. If a squadron of F-22s vs a squadron of F-35s actually fought each other, the F-22s would win every time.
>>64754260the F22 is an air superiority fighter the f35 is an attack craft/missile bus. the issue is we haven't had to fight any country that would require an air superiority fighter
>>64761240Except this isn't true for strategic reasons. If country A invests in air superiority and country B is forced to respond by investing in ground based defense, such as SAMs, then country B is permanently debilitated. If country A's air force didn't exist, country B could not spend the money on SAMs and could instead build a larger air force of their own. In networks of alliances where there are many countries, not just two, this changes strategy. Therefore, country A's air force is strategically dominant, even if it never sees combat.

>>64718737retarded advice. It's all about bolt carrier mass. the trigger spring weight doesn't matter. If you have a lot of mass and gas forcing that finger back you have sufficient forced reset.Bunch of guys here running H1s and shit without knowing it are bitching about light triggers but the SSA-E springs run fine.I personally run a SSA but that's because I like light take up and a strong firm wall to break, same with my 2011.The no two stage is a stupid meme by people who don't understand how a FRT works, much like the old AR15 "it shits where it eats" meme.If you want SUPER-DUPER-RELIABILITY run a H3 buffer & lightweight bolt carrier.
>>64741902Reminder that FRT/SS devices and mechanisms which require feathering or light trigger finger pressure to function "reliably" are not actually reliable, and are no more than gimmick range toys. Such designs and products are not "complete" nor "finished", and we as consumers should articulate as much to producers.FWIW In my experience the Arc-fire from ASD is 99% agnostic to trigger finger pressure within reasonable biomechanical limit. It does modify the RoF, but the gun doesn't lock up. Going on 1500rnds FRT/SS mode, one malfunction, and 500rnds semi. No signs of wear or cracking like Atrius.Still waiting on Atrius to beef up their lever."IF you need to feather, it's an issue with your cycling system, not the FRT/SS because the FRT/SS's cycling is dependent on your cycling system's velocity, not anything else with the FRT/SS.But you wouldn't understand that because you are a retarded tripfag who doesn't understand basic physics.Give your fucking fail hard builds more gas and mass and you will see everything but the atrius cycle reliably.Go back to your stupid retarded faggotry WGWS, can't wait till people stop listening to retards like you who spew retardation in here like you used to in /ARG/ until you finally got found out.
>>64761263atrius will not cycle reliably because the pencil dicked lever will break under pressure. But seriously, if any of you take WGWS or A2GRIP's (is that faggot still around) advice seriously, you are doing stupid shit. >>64760725For the new MRCA procurement plan, Malaysia may get SU-57 fighter jets from Russia and KF-21 from South Korea or even KAAN from Turkey because they have already offered it to Malaysia. Russia has already offered the SU57 package along with the S400 to Malaysia. The US gives too many conditions and no freedom to repair or upgrade the aircraft made in the United States. Most recently, Malaysia has held discussions with the Russian authorities to obtain the Mig-35 as well as the 5th generation Sukhoi Su-57 aircraft because Russia guarantees technology exchange and aircraft upgrades in the future.Eventhough the US bribing Malaysia not to join BRICS with sale of F-35, it wont be easy for them if the US Congress keep trying to meddle in and trying to approve it only with terms. Although both countries are friends, Malaysia is not that close with US, unlike Singapore , which the US gave much favour too. Also, Putrajaya (Malaysia) did not recognized Israel and dont have any Diplomatic relationship with Tel Aviv. Unlike Singapore which is the strongest supporters of Israel's war against the Palestinian people. So, you can do the math why Malaysian prefer to get 2nd hand F-18 from Kuwait as a temporary "stop-gap measure" only, as a temporary filling in the procurement of fifth or sixth generation fighter jets that will begin in the 14th Malaysia Plan (RM14 & RM15) 2030-2040.
>>64761175Many seething Australians on /k/ have already been sounding the alarm since the US decided to sell the F-35 to Singapore as they believe it compromises Australia's air defense to China. While the US can afford to replace the F-35 with something new in 20 years Australians are going to be stuck with them for at least 50.
>>64761179>ManyCan we see them?
>>64761175It's dangerous if the weaponry leans more towards the west, especially America, the strangest policy is, the fighter jets have been purchased but their use requires permission from them. For F-18D Malaysia, the Malaysian technician was not given the source code for the settings when there was a mission, they had to report to America first. After that the RMAF showing high-interest on American F-18 only to be blocked by the Congress and Singaporean lobbyist claiming "to prevent arms race in S.E. Asia" (In the same time authorize the selling of F-16 and F-15 to Singapore. Fucking hypocrites). After the Malaysian shocking decision to buying the Russian MiG-29N (Malaysia was the first in S.E Asia officially to use modern Russian fighter after the Cold War), President Clinton allowed the sale of little 8 unit of Hornet to save face and "to prevent Russian influence". Clinton administration also trying to persuade Malaysian government by selling second hand F-16 only to be bluntly rejected. (One of main criteria for RMAF fighters is to have enough range to reach either Malaysia peninsula and Borneo. Which mean most single-engine fighter like F-16 will fail.) >Malaysia wanted more F/A-18>Malaysia looking for second hand USN/USMC F/A-18>Uncle Sam said no. Instead offered up F/A-18F>Malaysia tempted to buy F/A-18F but didn't want to surrender their existing F/A-18D as part of buyback option>Deal went dead>Suddenly US came back and "hinted" that they may export F-35 for Malaysia if they could permanently stationed their F-15/F-16 in Malaysia because reasons.>Malaysia said "take that F-35 of yours and shove it up your ass" subtlyTil now American suffering loses because Malaysian opened the market gate for Russian and European arms sales on SE Asia and destroying the American arms sales monopoly.

>>64757523The Rossi LWC, but it's a top-break revolver with a 20" barrel and a blast shield, chambered in 45-70.
Why aren't there more guns that have a secondary barrel for firing a more powerful caliber if the situation changes suddenly? The only example I can think of is the LeMat Revolver. It would throw the caliber wars for a loop and make for a fun range toy.https://www.youtube.com/shorts/c1ySenl_OQo
>>64757523>top break>9 shot>327 magnum>3 inch barrel>bobbed hammer>optic/light readyMy idea for the ultimate EDC revolver in places where they limit magazines to 10 rounds. You get nearly the same capacity/reload speed as a semi-auto with near .357 stoppin' powah. Shooped together a shitty mockup using the protoype Detonics top-break that never saw the light of day.
Benelli M1014 that uses a helical mag that goes the length of the barrel. Picrel is a shitty thing I made on my phone in like 3 minutes but you get the idea.I was thinking that I could remove the elevator and just have the bolt push shells out of the magazine into the chamber but it would probably be super fucking unreliable and removing the magazine tube and a portion of the receiver to fit the magazine would make the whole gun fragile. With enough work and some 3D printing I could probably make one. Maybe.

>>64750963I'd get the 10mm Witness. Always wanted one of those.
>>64760865The Steel-framed one, of course. The polymer-framed one is so ugly it hurts to look at it.
>>64750963Almost all of these listed are guns more for fun than serious usage. The SFAR has some reliability issues, the Witness in 10mm is adequate but it's an old and overly heavy gun that is not particularly great in build quality and not super easy to get parts for. The M&P is decent enough in reliability and doesn't have the parts issue at least. The RDB is known for also having meh reliability and for being somewhat flimsy. The KSG is definitely known for flimsiness as well, which is an overall theme for Kel Tec it seems. The stockless shotgun is a meme in that it's incredibly difficult to hit anything beyond handgun self defense scenario distances more than once without taking 5 seconds to fire between aimed shots. The "sniper" category is fine, though it's questionable whether spending $6000 on a gun makes sense compared to $1000 for a Bergara or something similar.
