What you want is to use them for self-propelled artillery.If the advantage of mech legs is that they could reach places that treads can't, it doesn't make sense to bring them to locations where wheeled/treaded vehicles already are.Instead, you might use a mech up at high alpine elevations, on a canyon floor, etc. to hold your MLRS/field gun.
