Soldier of Fortune Edition #21Hope my homie Pastebin shows upOld:>>62688426
Just broke up with my first girlfriend, i'm 34 btw and I think i'm going to blow off some steam at the range with my AR
>>62696859Gooning is cheaper
The greatest ever Christmas album "Christmas Portrait" turns 46 today. Make sure to give it a listen
>>62696859Forgot to mention she’s 2D
>>62696891>fumbles the bag even when the 2d girl calls you mastergrim.
>>62696860no, all I caught was shark, we were targeting red drum
State of the collection
>>62696846what a coincidence, i actually just found a link this morning to pdf copies of every Soldier of Fortune from 1975 to 2000https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/sqopldpdlbvjidhwkkg9w/AMrvkuL5KzzsJsnUUvoM0W4?rlkey=h32rdei5m278bed49da4gp236&e=1&dl=0
>>62696962you need to start shooting the super duty
>>62696972They were all on the Internet Archive but that's down right now
>>62696978Yeah it's kinda retarded I haven't done anything with it. Griffin finally restocked the Dual Lok flash hider that was OoS for months so I ordered one and it should hopefully show up this week. Still undecided on optic. Maybe after the Athlon gets warrantied I'll throw that on there
>>62696962get an H&R 14.5 pencil barrel for that carry handle and make it a proper 723. Do something with the super duty
>>62696992You're going to put the athlon on the g$? What will you do with the block 2 then? I'd leave it on the dd but I still don't know what I would do with the super duty.
>>62696992get an ACOG for the Guyselly
>>62697063>make it a proper 723But it's a Bushmaster. Shorter barrel would be cool though. Some day I may do something with it
>>62697088>What will you do with the block 2 thenThought about selling it but idk>>62697097I've been wanting a TA02 for a while now. May make more sense on the Block II though
>>62697125I've been thinking about a ta02 on my SD as well. Isn't there another anon running that setup?
>>62697125>Thought about selling it but idkYeah it would be redundant then. You could do like you said and put an acog on the block 2 then have a very lightweight spr with your geissele which would be nice. But that doesn't necessarily warrant keeping the dd. I would keep it because I like them but that's just me.
>>62697151>Isn't there another anon running that setup?Yeah. We're cloning his rifle
>>62696962Honest thots on the athlon?
>>62697194Well, I killed it by using it on a .350 Legend bolt action rifle, so that's a strike against it. I haven't mailed it back to Athlon yet. It seemed fine though before that, no real complaints. It's baby's first magnified optic so I can't really compare it to anything until now. Used it up to 300 yards fine
>>62697187>We're cloning his rifleSo it turns out my colt upper HAS in fact turned me into a clooner
Is there any reason to get a muzzle brake other than the A2? I wanna start upgrading stuff
>>62697234Yeah if you plan on using a suppressor that goes with it or you're pinning/welding a 14.5
>>62697234The one that fits your can.
>>62697234the only reason to swap out a birdcage is if it's for mounting a suppressor. its literally perfect
>>62697212kek. Good way to test their customer service. I think i’m gonna gunsoom one if i can find it for 350 or so
>>62697264>if i can find it for 350 or soDo they get that cheap? I think I paid $400 for mine on sale. A2 still recommends them as the poorfag SPR scope if that means anything to you.
>>62697244birdcage can mount a suppressor too.
>>62696870bruh just stop
>>62697244>long distance rangelast 2 times, schmoes with their shit stick ARs and stupid comps were blowing unburnt powder into the sides of my eyes. very gay
Best AR trigger for the money? I am making a 20in DMR build and usually go with a Geissele trigger but I'd rather not use a trigger that costs 25% of the build.
>>62697402larue mbt2s
>>62697402LaRue or blemished Geissele later this month
>>62696978>>62696992just sell the noodle and do everyone a favor
>>62697402mbt2s or just wait 2 weeks and get a gman for cheap
>>62697367We both know I can't do that
Do I prioritize 1x performance and compromise magnification? Or prioritize magnification and compromise 1x performance? (no, LPVOs do not do both and I will not be buying one)
>>62697405>>62697408Ok, I'll give it a shot. One more thing - since I'm buying a trigger already does the LaRue ACOG mount work for the newer 3.5x35 LED ACOGs or is it specific to the older 4x32? I assume it's the same mounting pattern but if it's not I still have this RCO I could use it with just in case.>>62697440What's coming in two weeks? Some sale event?
>>62697456>Some sale event? The synagogue of savings opens its blemished doors once again
>>62697456it's the one day of the year worth gunsooming g$. i paid $60 for a tano lower and around 145 for the SSAE (pic related)
>>62697486The real sale of the year was hurricane relief SSA's for $100 last week
>>62697461>>62697486>>62697493I'll hold off, then. It's going to take at least a couple of weeks for all the parts and optic to arrive, I've got time to burn. Thanks, dudes.
>>62697486>it's the one day of the yearIt's open a few times a year though
>>62697455Dot + mag now and build an SPR later.
>>62697455Usually a good idea to just get a T2 and G33 and go from there since it’s more useable in a HD / chimp out situation whereas while you can definitely make use of a 2-10 in those situations it’s just easier with a dot,
>>62697408>picWhich LaRue trigger is SS compatible?
Are 9mm AR's really as bad as portrayed?
>>62697652Bruh
>>62697652I have one of the psa ones and it's pretty fucking fun, never had any issues with it. Just sucks that there's no last round hold open
>>62697652Shut up bunni
>>62697108Is there a cooler rollmark
>>62697652Worse, actually.>hello, yes, give me more recoil than a 5.56, and make it awful to suppress.Words uttered by the utterly deranged.MP5 is what you seek.
>>62697750Thats bunni dont reply to him. He doesn't deserve help.
>>62696846Finally picked up an ar, I'm thinking about getting an 18" barrel to swap out the existing 16" for heckin epic spr memes, but are there any practical differences outside of a small velocity bump?
>>62697766>>62697743Who?>>62697750I don't mean the actual shooting dynamics, just the reliability and parts breakages, mostly the latter.
>>62697768No. The velocity bump isn't worth it either and the longer barrel is going to whip more making it inherently (slightly) less accurate. Just get a heavier 14.5 or 16".
>>62697771just buy your anime waifu gun anon
>>62697768Don't do that, just shoot your rifle. Your 16'' is plenty long enough for spr work.
>>62697108my Bushmaster upper got converted into a 733 upper, the lower ironically has a Colt upper receiver on it now with an H&R 14.5 as a 723 clone>>62697125no put it on your SD, just clone me completely at this point desu
>>62697787>>62697861that about matches what I was reading. Longer heavier boltgun barrels work because they're stiff, but in smaller guns it's more of a liability because of harmonics. Got a bunch of 75gr bthp going to take this thing out to the range wml
Only ever used curved triggers. Should I try the flat?
Does Larue have some personal beef with Geissele?
>>62697988flat good for precision
>>62698010Mark has a problem with anyone happily married
>>62697988The standard MBT already has an improved (straighter) trigger bow, so the flat seems unnecessary
Also>M.I.M.'dWtf is this?
>>62698055google it>>62698010Mark can instantly identify semites and redditors, so him and Bill can't get along.
>>62698055It's the key to Bill's 200% markup
>>62698066>google itNot sure if it's metal injection molding or made in malaysia
>>62698010yes, because triggers are just polished tool steel, Bendy Bill takes advantage of you more than LaRue's still acceptable profit margin.
>>62698038>>62698066I have an MBT-2S and a SSA-E. The Geissele is slightly better but all these Larue social media posts just come off as an inferiority complex.

Does OAL matter for bullpups to not be considered SBRs despite their barrel lengths? Is that why they all have fuck long LOPs to skirt that law? Huge gay if true.

Does anybody make a slick side a1 upper with m4 feed ramps? Pic rel is the first thing I found but it has rifle feed ramps, and its probably going to be more money than its worth having feed ramps milled in

They are by far my favorite triggers but my normal one is very negligent discharge death trigger tier and my blemula one is a little heavier but perfect safety wise. >>62699597Milspec hammers have a cut plate disconnector, not a mim disconnector. When overgassed your bolt is going to go faster and slam that hammer into the disconnector much faster. >>62699683256 sensor kinda dogshit, doubly so with a tiny objectiveEspecially at night when it becomes a thermal only optic.Just a bunch of jagged lines and false positives from hot terrain/edges.

>>62699795Ok, any other cans to look at other than the mini k printx? Saker k?
>>62699795I need to figure out a way to compile a list of what suppressors are worth buying or considering for purchase. The data i find about suppressors is all over the place with "reviews" being heavily skewed towards one arbitrary metric. Weight is a massive deal to me i know you say it doesn't' matter but i lift weights regularly and am fairly strong but holding a heavy gun up for long periods of time is very hard. Ok you are usually resting on gun on something but its still something that should be considered at least a little bit. You aren't putting 5 pound suppressors on rifles right. Flash/ spark is very important noise reduction is probably the least given the least weight by me personally but the more the better ceteris paribusdurability/longevity matters but on semi auto rifles i don't know how much it matters in practice or what weight to give this. as far as i can see the rc2 is good kac cans are good but can get heavy and are very expensive. The b&t cans have very good performance and are very cheap so they seem to be what i am leaning towards these days. I know you mentioned the saker 556k before and some other random cans. Is there anything else that should be added to the list? What specific b&t models are worth looking at for the rifles you suggest in these threads?
>>62699795>roscoe shit talk detectedActually, roscoe is untested. There’s a possibility that they’re okay (for button rifled chrome lined barrels)Once they get the equipment to hammer forge, it’s ogre for you Mr. GripsBtw they make medium profile barrels, now. Expo Arms is the brand of the (fiscally irresponsible) people
>>62699795Mr grips what evidence do you have that PSA isn't buying their FN barrels done and dusted and is allowing their monkeys to finish them in house
>>62699805 There is no universal wear constant, it depends on cadance. barrel material, ammo etc. When you shoot out a barrel from just sustained semi auto decent cadance fire, not some torture test shit you want to pay attention to muzzle and throat erosion. Throat erosion from the chamber end will decrease accuracy as time goes but if you are just blasting steel/cardboard you likely wont notice it fall off that dramatically. Becomes a question of what your definition of shot out is.In a precision rifle this will likely occur first and will result in you noticing the barrel is less accurate when shooting groups. This might yield less than acceptable accuracy and meet the criteria for "shot out" for that precision gun.Muzzle erosion on the other hand will gradually get worse in terms of accuracy until you lose muzzle stability and the projectiles are tumbling at like 10yd. At that point the rifle is probably fairly unsafe to shoot and is shot out regardless of the type of shooting you do. One of my BCM CHF CL barrels for example has about 5" of rifling from the chamber and then 6.5" of smooth bore until the muzzle. This is extreme muzzle erosion and resulted in pic rel. That keyholing happened because the bullet was being gripped and spun unevenly by rifling that was eroding eccentrically toward the muzzle end and after passing through 6.5" of that it had destabilized and ultimately keyholed. Now if you have a longer barrel there is more rifling (duh) so there is an argument to be made that you will get marginally more stability before it enters that muzzle erosion area of destabilization. But none the less a 14.5 with 6" of eroded rifling is going to be fucked up like an 11.5" with 6" of rifling. That 3" is going to make such a slim margin of improved lifespan imho that I dont think you will be able to quantify it due to material variances and cadence variances.1/2
>>62699867>>626998052/2Longer barrels with longer gas systems do suffer less gas port erosion which is nice for longevity but ultimately effects accuracy minimally.Pic rel, the minimally rifled BCM CHF CL.>>62699809For dedicated 16" usage? You could always OCM5 if your rifle supports that>>62699829Suppressor reviews are going to greatly accelerate in numbers and devalue in terms of utility now with 48hr form 4s. I just got a G45 Eotech 5x magnifier that I'm still trying out, but I watched some random youtube video where this guy said something that makes sense to me which is that one would rather have a good close range optic up close, and a bad long range optic up far, than a good long range optic up far, and a bad close range optic up close. Also one should have an SPR or something to grab if one knows that they're dealing with longer ranges and sightlines. >>62697787Nice. What reticle on the NX8? That is going to happen regardless of can. I don't know for sure but I'm confident with better powder and ammo if performs acceptably (near zero flash). Ask A2 he also might know. >>62701141I actually agree with this we are citizens not civilians. You don't get to justify killing us like dogs.

>>62701196>Why would I be using a rifle to intimidate people or crowd control lmfaoYeah thankfully we didnt have a summer of riots where people did exactly that or anything.>>62701208Yes based
>>62701215>summer of riots where people did exactly that or anything. And not one single time was a rifle needed because only actual subhuman retards were at any of these protests and they only happened in shit hole areas inhabited exclusively by morons.
>>62701168>>62701194Are tripods not heavy? I kind of assumed they would have to be in order to be functional. I need some hands on experience before I buy in. What I'm having a hard time with is understanding how you would set it up and employ it. What is the situation where you find someone to shoot and have time to get your tripod out before they move to cover or simply walk out of your field of view? Is it for ambushing a static target?
>>62701265Some are some are not it's mostly the ball heard or the arca thing that weighs but cheap ones are obviously heavier too, you can get a lightweight tripod that has a hook and hang a pack off it to weight it down.
