My boomer dad (who I love dearly) has his primary rifle with an unzeroed PEQ, ACOG, and micro EOsnek. Gotta get them sorted. My brother, who is an engineer and a college professor and a former scout but somehow knows nothing about how an AR works, has an AR that is now choking because he put a suppressor on it. I got him a silent captured spring so hopefully that does the trick.

I wouldn't recommend a Kar98, personally. Everyone has them and yet they're so sought after that they still routinely go for 900-1200USD. If you want my advice, go with a Yugoslav Mauser or a Greek FN Mauser. They're ridiculously similar but you'll pay far less. Plus, they're not as ubiquitous.

My suggestion is that you go to a range and rent a bunch of wonder 9s that aren't made in Brazil or Turkey. Settle on something that you could carry that isn't a dinky pocket gun.

The Glock 48 (with PSA mags), the Sig P365XL (with magguts springs), the new H&K, and the bigger Hellcat are a good place to start. As they say in Japan, good ruck.

Oh yeah it is boarded up. I'm not sure if it will be refurbished or something like that. The location is great and only part of it burned. It really is too bad, I liked going there. The next closest range is the one where my ex wife worked so I don't go there and I ended up getting a membership to Range USA, which has actually been great desu.

I don't really do those so I can't say. I shoot pistol drills weekly with my competition gun, my CC gun, my 1911, and then I bring something else to the range as well.
