It just doesn't work for me. I can shoot a defined spot sort of okay but trying to trace a line just doesn't work. Maybe it's my ligmatism idk I can't focus on one part of a line.

I aimed for the nose of the top target to make sure I wasn't retarded, 9mm holes are offset down due to the ammo/zero of the gun plus 1 bitch flinch. The .22 was getting baffle strikes, ignore.

Middle target barely looks like something, taking my time with .22, but still shit. Optic offset is apparent.

Bottom 9mm, just forget it. ~9 yards btw. I notice nobody else has even tried. Or tried but didn't post targets because its quite discouraging at the distances suggested (25 [lol] then 10 then 7). Anyway I'm not trying anymore.

yeah it was too hard, at 15-20y I could do the riggs but that's just hits and not consistent

it's hard coming up with a challenge that is challenging

What if you do something like 3 different size bullseyes on one sheet of paper at 7, 10, and 15 feet. Split the paper in half, then split one of the halves in half. Use a standard sheet of paper so it’s easy for anons to print. In each box put a solid bullseye. Largest bullseye is 4 inch diameter, next one is 2 inch, last is 1 inch, or 3/4 if you want.. 1 point for each hit in the big one, 2 points for each hit in the medium, 4 points for each in the small. You get 10 shots at each range and we go for high score. The catch is if you miss the bullseye and catch a flyer in the white on any of the boxes then you get no score for any hits in that box. So it’s somewhat of a mix of aim and confidence with consistency….

Apologies, this is 1million hours in paint…
>>
>>64424899
Meant yards not feet, but whatever you think would be a good challenge. If you want a time limit it would be easy to add. Just don’t miss….
>>
>>64424899
>>64424902
Either 3 separate targets one at each range, or high stakes… 1 target starting at closest range, then move it back at each stage, still 10 rounds at each, but again, if you miss you lose all points from that block for all three stages…
>>
>>64424908
I was thinking of a challenge,
5 shots, 10 seconds, 15 yards, two hands
5 shots, 15 seconds, 7 yards, dominate hand
5 shots, 15 seconds, 5 yards, support hand
etc

>>
>>64425040
I know everyone starts somewhere, but seriously? First, subcompacts have a standard capacity of 10, where compact and full size pistols have a standard capacity of 15, 17 or 20+ rounds. Second, generally speaking, you sacrifice on ballistics when you go lower than ~4” barrel. Lastly, the point of subcompacts is so it more easily concealed or carried. If you are OWB carrying it, you might as well carry a larger gun. As a general rule, you want to carry the largest gun you can that’s still practical.

Just. Don’t.

I'm not sure if I'm going to go with the whole magical weapons angle (for the most part) as much as I'd leaning more on special ammunition and abilities of the individual users.
>who is the gun primarily used against, the normal person or the supernatural
Both, its starts off with more supernatural stuff, but as it goes on he's has to deal with more "normal" foes who are more experienced and powerful than him.
>maintain stealth in having it or no?
He does for the most part as he conceals it and lives in an urban environment, but he also mostly wears clothes that make it easier to conceal weapons, as he has the fashin sense of a guy who's main two boards are /k/ and /a/ with an M65 jacket being on of his usual pieces.
>You could even have different “buffs” to different guns depending on who used them
I'm considering it, even if it is pretty video game-y.
>>
>>64425183
Definitely don’t go with Glock. Especially now that they’re discontinuing their current models.
>>
>>64425187
Way ahead of you. They don't really appeal to me that much, anyway so I doubt that it'll affect my writing lol.
>>
>>64425187
So what's happening with glock? Now don't give me that internet inside all day explanation using the most retarded and convuluted way to explain something. Y'know as if you're trying to convince people to buy up your stock of glocks or some shit or trying to shill a whole bunch of glock killers that are mid at best and sub par when they're in the middle of the road.
>>
>>64425226
The only reason they still made 3rd gen Glocks was California. Ca banned Glocks effective next year. Glock has been attempting to downsize and recently discontinued a bunch of models. They say fuck it no more 3 no more 5 we only making gen v now. The hells a gen v who knows? Probably a 6. Though it could be a rebrand of 5.
>>
>>64425244
That's it?
>>
I heard a rumor that Cali law allows fixed guns to be put on roster, in which case it's easier to understand why Glock did it - they now will have gen 5 on roster instead of gen 3.
>>
>>64425295
Only if they abide by all the other requirements to be on the roster, namely today that would be a loaded chamber indicator and a magazine safety.
Two years ago they wanted micro stamping and biometric smart gun technology which doesn't actually exist, hence why some guns were finally added to the safe pistol list.
You also have to send in 40 something guns of each model every year to get retested.
>>
>>64424717
You didn't double up on spares, you "replaced worn out parts" which implies either you're a fucking retard and don't know what worn out gun parts means or you only still have 1 usable set of parts. You're a broken clock.
>>
The V Glocks won't be MOS-compatible which means they are doing a bunch of weird fuckery in the slide. Who knows how that will affect modularity and reliability. No civilian will buy this shit because optics ready is now expected.
>>
>>64425374

They won't for years since Glock likely has huge stockpiles of parts still. They said they're going to continue supporting the other models. People act like every Glock factory exploded

>>64425601
I haven't really been laying attention, but I thought they were going to completely stop production of most models of and then come out with the new versions of those
>>
>>64425603
Yes, but Glock isn't one guy making guns its entire factories making parts constantly. They will have a lot of parts lying around that are going to be losses if they can't sell them as parts.

>>
>>64425798

I get what is more practical. But let's say subcompact feels better in the hands. It feels better all around to you. For people to like owb it's not as bulky. So it also makes sense

There's no controversy. They're going to discontinue the models currently available with the cruciform trigger bar and replace them with a new gen that doesn't have that. That's it. They're changing the trigger mechanism because CA is banning all Glocks from the acceptable gun list. That's it.

I took that job, the one were I have to be in federal property.

Right now I'm leaving my gun in my locked car but there's two problems.

I can't transfer it from my person to the car, it's too risky I'll eventually be seen so I have it in the center console
1. It's only as secure at the door/windows
2. It's a really slow and shitty draw while I'm driving.

Anyone tried those custom fast draw car safes? Are they really worth it? I wouldn't mind the experience if it actually worked, but most of what I'm seeing online looks overpriced, slow to draw, electronically questionable, and not particularly theft resistant.
I can leave my shitty Ruger in the console for free.

How much do you care about said car? Would you be opposed to screw-on/adhesive under dash holster? That's faster to access. I don't personally have one at the moment because I don't want to put holes in any part of the interior of any of my cars because they are all classics, but I've used one in the past with a winter beater and they're out of sight and easy to use.

Personally, I think if your car's interior is completely empty, it is pretty unlikely to get broken into unless you're in the hood. Those fast draw car safes (pic related) are dumb imo because they're just a clearly visible indicator of valuables to the scum casing cars in a parking lot. My current favorite method is a holster that is clipped to one of the metal rods under my seat in one of my cars, and the others either have door pockets that will fit a gun or a space between the seat and center console. If you look in any car I own it's empty aside from a fire extinguisher and my dash cam.
>>
>>64427106
Maybe you should just rig up a holster under the steering wheel, cannot be seen looking in and with a Velcro strap should retain the handgun quite well.

Many seats have rods hanging down for adjustments or holding the upholstery, providing tension, or rails, etc. I just got lucky enough to find one that is toward the front of the seat and is a tight fit for a clip. You could also always cut up a piece of sheet metal and bolt it to the rail or seat mount, or something like that. Then screw or zip tie a holster to it. And if you want a little safe, there are plenty that can be attached to the seat rail via a cable and placed under it. I like the ones with the mechanical locks. I chose my small safes based on these playlists:
>>
>>64427106
Most of those car safes aren't even securely attached to the car. It is just an airbag between the seat and center consol that you pump up with a bulb like a blood pressure cuff. They can just find the bulb, deflate it and run off with your safe and your gun. Unless you get one bolted down into the car, none of them are very secure at all.

i dont like permanently modifying my firearms, I'll never alter the frame or the slide irreversibly unless i can secure a backup slide to do it on. it's just my personal 'autism' that i maintain the gun completely stock out of the box, with all my modifications relegated to a quick swapped slide and barrel, at least for my glocks. Now I'll admit that I'm curious about modding a beretta with the ltt trigger job in a bag and the np3 parts, but even then I'd also like to have a stock black m9 in addition to a modified version.

By my way of thinking a safe is going to be pointless then. I've been carrying in cargo pants while driving but if I do that sooner or later one of 2 things is going to happen. Either I'll get seen transferring the gun in the parking lot or I'll forget and take it with me.
The door pocket would be ideal if I could disguise the gun. I have one that matches the interior pretty close but it's not perfect, you'd be able to see it if you took a second.
Zip ties under the seat is probably the best way, but I'd want a decent retention holster in case of a collision. The gun I want to use is a security 9 as it's cheap and I'd miss it the least, but finding a high retention holster for it is unlikely.
It might be easier to buy a new gun, but what would be cheap enough and have enough after market support?

>>
>>64427281
It's ok. I shoot it fine, everything is within B zone at 10 yards rapid firing, probably 50% of that in the A zone. I have never tried to shoot it farther than that. I tried the CSXE (bought), Shield Plus, Reflex, G2C, Hellcat, and landed on the Hellcat. I still have the CSXE but I rarely carry it because it's a little bigger than the hellcat and all I gain is a better trigger. I really am min-maxing my hot weather carry for good concealment and capacity.

What I like:
>the sights are big and fast to use
>manual safety is good unlike the little tab bullshit on the shield plus
>it's pocket carryable with the flush mag end plate
>unsurpassed capacity for the size
>it was cheap with the promotion that gave me the extra mags and CT red dot free
>I have had zero malfunctions in the 2,000ish rounds I've put through it since I got it

What I don't like:
>trigger isn't great, it's gen 3 Glock tier
>I had to change to "floaty thumbs" when shooting it because I was riding the slide release
>grip texture does irritate the skin of my stomach or back a bit when carrying

The way I look at it, it's a micro 9, they aren't "fun to shoot", they aren't good range toys. They're a compromise you choose to get the most firepower out of a small and light gun and I think most complaints about most micro 9s are a reflection of idiots expecting them to shoot and feel like a compact or full size. The red dot is a cheapo, I don't have one on any other handgun so I figured I'd try the "free" one out and if I liked it get a nicer one. I'm sticking with it and in the process of selecting a nicer one now.
>>

Speaking of selling, I kind of hate most my guns. I hate the plow handle grip on my redhawk. My czp10s optics ready sucks but if you can believe it, it was the only non Glock optics ready compact at the time I bought it. If I waited a year or two I could have had just about anything. My lcp2 is good for what it is, but the max has more capacity and the bodyguard 2 probably has a better trigger, I haven't tried it. My first him was a Ruger security 9. I wanted a Beretta m9a3 but I couldn't justify the expense at the time and the Ruger was pretty cheap. The resale value on these is so low it's not worth selling them. How much could I get for a security 9 that's been beat to shit by someone carrying it and playing with it like one does ones first gun? Who would but a cz p10s that needs a plate for an optic thats wider than the slide and sits too high? The tritium sight it came with is dim as fuck now and you literally can't get co witness OEM sights because they moved the dovetail back to make room for the plate and the p10c ones don't fit. And you can get optic ready pistols cut and not fuck with a plate with better capacity for less now with inflation than what I paid in 2019. I should have sold the lot during COVID (except the lcp2, by giving up the max capacity I can have the gouge grip and it's much more pleasant to shoot.)
I really want something that's not shit, but I can't justify the expense right now. I came very close to buying the LT px4 you fags were shilling hard on here last year, but talked myself out of it.
Thing is, anything light enough to carry and cheap enough to get confiscated as evidence is going to be shit, so I might as well keep what I got. I think this is part of why Glock has been so successful. It's the perfect balance between serviceable and disposable and the mags are cheap.
Ah well. 99% of the time I just put the lcp2 in a pocket anyway.
Gud enuf.

>I feel like the 6" looks best, but I'm worried it may be too front-heavy

if you're gonna be shooting through several boxes in the span of a half hour the weight of the 6" might get tiresome pretty quick, but the real advantage is sight radius. If you've never shot long barreled revolvers before they are fucking tack drivers in single action. I'm talking like 1" group at 30 yards accurate with no prior shooting experience. It gets way harder to shoot like that once you step further and further down in barrel length. Snubbies are dogshit in my opinion. Good for bar brawls or home defense in a small apartment but terrible for anything else. Go with the 6" or just get a Python if you want a 4". The 4" pythons are gigasex looking.

>handgun to defend my house?
True that it would be outclassed by an AR-15 chambered in .300 Blackout with a 9-12 inch barrel and sound suppressor. Even better if you had an auto reset modification with a three-position selector. However, a pistol has its merits because because you can use your support hand for administrative purposes without necessarily holstering
>I'm talking about CCW
If you defend yourself from someone who assaulted you outside the home, why call law enforcement at all? EMT's are better equipped to treat your or the perpetrator's injuries and their arrival would actually be impeded by police in most circumstances. Unless there's a crowd of his ilk around to call the police on you for "shooting muh sweet baby chile who dindu nuffin"

>Buy my last Glock

>>
>>64429642
The "2A community" is led by youtube grifters who treat gun manufacturers like sportsball teams. Glock is retarded though for bending the knee so quickly when everyone knows the SCOTUS will shut Newscum down eventually. Glock is going to suffer the same fate of incompetency that Kalashnikov Concern did. Having your entire company helmed by a nonagenarian engineer never works out well once the old guy kicks the bucket with no one left to fill his shoes. The only reason other old brands like Colt and Smith & Wesson lasted for so long is because they bought the licenses to new designs from other people and diversified their catalogs. Kalashnikov really only started doing that after Misha passed away, and Glock still hasn't even tried branching out except for that vaporware AR-15 they made for some UK solicitation a few years ago.
>>
>>64429635
This. When you're holstering a $3,000 gun like in this pic >>64429631 a quality handcrafted leather holster that costs $200+ isn't a big deal, but good kydex holsters are expensive enough and holstering systems often trial and error, so it's understandable that most prioritize price and kydex is extremely popular.

No, they don't suffer a total failure to be clear, more so excess wear and tear that's concerning and would cause issues with wear on pants. It starts with deformation of the belt caused by the 6 o'clock belt loop on pants. Eventually the outer layer fails in this area partially exposing the core. Would probably still work fine for a while but that's when I replaced my last one and I can see the same issue on my current one is in progress. Also how most of my work pants eventually fail(6 o'clock belt loops wears through), probably partially due to how much sitting I do at work.

It has been keeping me back from buying a Model 20.
>>
>>64430987
My point was HK already released the half-measure CC9, they're not going to ALSO produce a second gun, made in another country, to compete with their domestically produced gun in exactly the same niche. Doesn't matter if it's better, they already fucked up by designing the CC9 from scratch. It's sunk cost fallacy, only they're sticking with it.

>>64430989
>>64430996
Now that's an innovation that could potentially matter in that saturated niche. Double feed would let them get 1-3 more rounds in the same length magazine, because most micro 9s have that 2-into-1 design. Not a taper like a normal double stack, but where it actually thins out into single stack near the top.

First of all, the skill issue was about handling the cops, not the actual shooting.
And second, money is still money. Would you use a pristine ss issue historical pistol worth tens of thousands of dollars? No, that would be too valuable to risk.
The only argument you could make is that a cheaper gun might be less accurate or reliable and with modern guns that are CCW weight I don't think that's the case. Even fucking Taurus is reliable and accurate these days. High end guns jam too.
Maybe in extreme cases you could need accuracy at range or something, but anything most people are going to regularly carry is going to be some plastic small thing that's not going to be much improved by throwing money at it. As much as I'd like a Beretta 92 or whatever, it's fucking heavy and big. At the end of the day you put the 380 in a pocket and forget about it, at least that's what I end up doing. SIG's major contribution to firearms is the locking mechanism where the barrel hood binds behind the front lip of the ejection port. They weren't the first to use barrel bushings that were integral to the slide, but they were the first to get it to bind really accurately. They also made pretty damn good triggers standard on utility pistols. It's a shame some litteral felon jew has dragged their good name through the mug.

They’re replacing essentially all of their SKUs with guns with redesigned trigger mechanisms that prevent switches (no cruciform sears). Nothing else with the guns is really changing. Some people imagine the new trigger system is going to be similar to the Glock Performance Trigger design, with a U or V shaped catch, hence the name V series.
>>
>>64432081
So they're just discontinuing everything to do that or is that it?
>>
>>64432092
What do you mean, exactly? They're discontinuing every gun that isn't a slimline model, and replacing them with V models that are essentially the same as the models they're replacing, except with a redesigned trigger mechanism. The 17 will become the 17V, the 19 will become the 19V, the 21 will become the 21V, etc.
