It's Tippmann Sports/Tippmann Pneumatics that does paintball, Tippmann Arms pumps out ARs, and Tippmann Ordnance makes Gatling Guns and now this 380 "Pirate Pistol." They're all separate businesses, but all were started and are owned and operated by members of the same Tippmann family.

>>
Got one of those feyachi hl-20 lights for free, will it handle live fire if mounted correctly or is it a cr123 paperweight?
>>
>>65029763
>I don't know how it breaks down because there are at least two Tippmanns
It is 3 total. The original was Tippmann the maker of scale replica MGs, which became Tippmann Pneumatics the paintball gun company, it was sold in 2004 but the name is still in use. One of the family went off on a tangent and formed Tippmann Ordnance to produce replicas they could still sell: gatling guns. In 2016, one of the sons/grandsons or some shit of Tippmann decided to revive the original company, calling it Tippmann Arms and pumping out rimfire ARs. So OG Tippmann was guns and became paintball, first offshoot is Tippmann Ordnance, then new Tippmann Arms is a revival of the original company. All founded by people from the same family, but the original is no longer part of the family, whereas Tippmann Ordnance and Arms both are.

Threaded barrel was a good idea, but a can will block sights, there is no optic mount, there is no bipod mount. Would be a nice "charger" style pistol suppressed, if it had both, but utility wasn't taken into consideration during design. Still looks fun. Maybe could be a good host for odessa.
>>
>>65029792
If I recall correctly the original Tippmann and Tippmann Ordnance were both founded by Sr. and the new Tippmann Arms revival is Jr.? I think that's right. Either way, all 3 produce very fun and very high quality toys. I wish they still sold the rolling blocks, surely they'd have introduced smaller ones by now. I'd love a brand new rolling block rifle in 22/380/9/45.

>>
>>65029875
Not that anon, but a lot of jhp ammo have problems properly expanding when fired out of snub barrels, so wadcutters are seen as a step above fmj at least
>>
>>65029875
Penetration and consistency for the most part. Snub nose 38s are like 380s. You need to use really soft lead to get hollow points to expand consistently and while I can do that, it's easier to to just use a solid with as wide a meplate as possible since that is what actually crushes tissue. Full wadcutter 38s actually have a larger meplate than an unexpanded 45. If a hollow point clogs or doesn't expand it is much worse than a full wadcutter. If they do expand, they win out, but again, snubbies don't get the velocity to reliably expand without specific bullets.
As far as why not XDs or External Hollows, those bullets require high velocity to work correctly and you aren't getting that in a 38 snub. Even if you did, I don't trust super light for caliber bullets to penetrate autoglass or car doors in a straight line. It is also very likely that those super light, high velocity loads wouldn't align with my non-adjustable sights. So even if they worked perfectly, I dont want to have to do Kentucky windage during a self defense encounter if they are furtheraway than bad breath distance. They're also really expensive and even if they did work AND aligned with my sights, they aren't enough better than my hard cast bullets to be worth the price difference.

>>65029720
It's crazy that this went through an entire design process. Someone somewhere should have said no.

Thanks.
The selection here is quite limited because it depends entirely on what weapon shops import since the whole firearm law system is extremely strict.
In very broad terms I have the following options:
>S&W pistols and some revolvers
>Glock (don't like it as a whole, it feels like the most normalfag of pistols)
>some Colt pistols (namely, very select and few 1911 models)
>some Taurus stuff but to me those have always seemed like subpar imitations of other brands
>a few Ruger, Springfield Armory and BUL Armory pistols
>Sig (not touching that garbage after the P320 fiasco)
>a couple new-ish CZ models recently imported
What we DON'T have:
>H&K (this one hurts the most since a stainless USP is my dream pistol)
>Beretta
>FN
>many other big brands I'm probably forgetting

>>65029966
If it serves as consolation, we also have to renew our permits every two years and it's only valid for one weapon. We don't have a per-weapon exam, but we can only legally own 2 firearms at any given time.
>>
>>65030034
Eurocuck or south america?
>>
>>65029875
Gigabrain answer is to use wadcutters and powderpuff loads. Getting reliable expansion and penetration out of a snubbie means excessive recoil for a gun that size. Meanwhile a lightly loaded wadcutter will perform very consistently and penetrate adequately while having much less recoil
>>
>>65030034
>we also have to renew our permits every two years and it's only valid for one weapon. We don't have a per-weapon exam, but we can only legally own 2 firearms at any given time.

Im starting to appreciate polish law more and more, the only limits are no full auto, up to 12mm caliber and 50 guns max (can get more if you have proper safe room)

Close-ish. Latin America but closer to the center, not the south.
Full auto anything is also fully illegal here. The 2 firearm limit certainly sucks, but it barely even matters when recreational shooting is a comically and almost prohibitively expensive hobby anyway.
Example: that same CZ P-10C Ported goes for about 500-600 shekels in burgerland afaik, while it goes for 1000 shekels here. And that's considering we don't have beefy US wages to begin with, so it's even more of an inflated markup for us.

>>65030092
It's not that I'm going for the ported one specifically, it's that that's literally the only variant here. The port just so happens to be a nice bonus.

picked up a DS Warrior in 9mm, saw that my LGS got one in and had to jump on it before it was gone
disclaimer: I've never owned, held, or shot a 1911/2011 before, so take these first impressions for what they're worth
nothing about the pistol feels cheap. by that I mean nothing rattles when I shake it, nothing feels loose or poorly attached, etc.
trigger pull has a little pretravel, a solid wall and a crisp break with almost non-existent post travel. reset is incredibly short. not really any side to side play in the trigger
safety has very positive clicks when engaging or disenging. it takes more force to engage the safety than to disengage it, and the saftey is large enough to make a good perch for my thumb when gripping the gun
the gun has a strong lockup and takes a fair amount of force to break the lock but then the slide itself feels smooth once loose, though I can feel the recoil spring push around if I work the slide slowly
grip has good texture though I wouldn't mind if it was a bit more aggressive
I haven't shot it yet so I'll update after I go to the range

The 9mm warrior is aluminum framed, so it’s a little bit lighter than most 2011s. The rest of the line up is steel framed.

It sounds like it has the same level of trigger as the 2k11, which was very good.

I like everything about it except how they rounded the trigger guard on the grip module.

>does it have anything it does better than other clones?
The whole thing is a fractal of good decisions, unexpected from ruger. It accepts any glock gen 3 slide. But, the slide it comes with is already cut for both rmr and dpp. The lower contains serialized fcu, so you can swap the grip module. But, it already comes with a magpul brand grip.
>ridiculous aftermarket parts
Icarus module >>65014031

Timney trigger, maybe someone else makes it, RXM is not directly compatible
>>
>>65030715
it's the only clone worth considering. I will not stop shilling for it. Watch this:
https://youtu.be/DuszBVt4hSk

Lets just assume that the gun's "selling point," the grips being $40 and hot swappable, is a gimmick and not relevant. You still get
>really good factory irons with a lower 1/5th RMR/407/507 cowitness
>flush, direct optic mount with any common footprint
>95% gen 3 parts compatibility. glock mags and holsters.
>REALLY GOOD grip texture and ergonomics. Magpul knows how to do polymer. the slab sides built into the 45 degree points on the grip give you a shit ton of torque advantage (watch the video)
>actually reliable (the only important thing). mine has ran for a few thousand rounds, no issues no cleaning.
>for $350 OTD
If you're fully informed, you would have to have brain damage to buy a gen 1-5 Glock at this point. Gen 6 manages to come up to par with the RXM and the one I held felt REALLY good (better than RXM, or even PDP) so I give it a pass

Do you think that upcoming new gun owners are going to miss out on seeing that one gun, in real life or visual media, that really ignites their passion for firearms? My initial interest in handguns came from seeing them in movies and games, and I knew exactly which ones I wanted by the time I could buy them, but I don't get how anyone can be excited by most of what's on the market now.

It's all just the same, generic "gun". I get that they work and the action is the end stage of handgun design, but none of these could be McClane's/Riggs' M9 or Misato's/Vincent's USP. Do new gun buyers recognize and get excited about the specific models of polymer striker-fired 9?

Did he tell why? I can think of a few reasons straight off the bat, some stupid, some reasonable. SS is actually a glock clone and part of "the platform", so it will be compatible with glock magazines, glock barrels, triggers, etc.
Maybe he wants glock magazines for some reason (many pcc are compatible, none for echelon). Maybe he wants spiral fluted barrel coated with rainbow pvd finish. Maybe he wants a radian brand ramjet. Maybe he wants a slide with weird holes, serrations on top, and rgb lighting. Maybe he wants a beautiful horse hide holster made by obscure craftsman in Arizona that doesn't have an echelon shaped molding prop.

This is so weirdly appropriate that I'm wondering if you're the guy I'm talking about. But I concur that personal preferences alone are a good enough reason for an upgrade.

I just bought a MK IV 22/45 and so filled the .22lr handgun gap in my collection. I've tried to avoid duplicating purposes with each one.

I'm done buying guns for a bit, but next I think would be some sort of budget 2011/steel frame handgun, or if I want to get fancy, a .44 magnum revolver (which would be a loading gate single action) while getting into reloading for it, since shooting .357 mag is already pretty fun. pls explain to someone who's never owned a Glock how/if the Ruger RXM is better than a Glock
>>
>>65032094
If you want to be able to change the grip frame its better. Otherwise, it is just a less expensive Glock and is just as good so long as you use glock brand glock mags and not cheapo shit. They are all optics ready so you don't have to pay more for a MOS version and it has some design improvements over Gen 5, but its pretty on par with Gen 6. I wouldn't get a Glock if I were in the market for something in that category.
>>
>>65032094
you can get a rxm pretty cheap and it has interchangeability with 90% ish usually of glock parts and accessories. taking glock mags is nice. just shop around and find a deal best for your price point. shot one a few days back and it was pleasant while bone stock, not even a bad trigger.

A lot of people like the Px4's but I have no experience with them
As for the HKs, there's no point in the VP9 since it's already optic cut and it's strikerslop anyway, and a GG short reset trigger kit will take a P30 to the theoretical best possible trigger it can have
My "LTT + Field Ethos" Mark 23 is completely identical to my bone stock HK MK23, just with an optic cut. Like, if I were buying it for whatever "trigger job" they did, I'd be pissed.

The 92 is a special animal because of the trigger system, in the sense that there's a higher theoretical ceiling for how "good" you can make the trigger, but like everything, put enough rounds through it and all of the parts will burnish together. Short resets are nice though.
>>
>>65032245
>>65032328
I'm gonna be honest, while LTTs are the BEST a 92 trigger can get rn, I don't have a problem with the Xtreme S trigger kits that Beretta puts in all their 92s now sans the budget models
