What's the best brand of skateboard tape for wrapping grips with? I don't know anything about skateboarding but I'm guessing there's a difference in what's good for gripping rubber soles and gripping hands.

I got some Mob brand clear griptape and it's pretty good, doesn't peel off, but it gets pretty gross within two weeks or so. Maybe this is just normal life for skateboard tape?

I just got my gen 5 glock brand glock 19 milled for an EPS. I will be taking it to a competition soon. /k/, please validate my decisions again. Thank you.

I hope you got a generic 407k cut so you can run other optics, since the EPS has been out pretty long. It's a good optic but there's always something new on the horizon.
>>

just looking at it and the description made me physically sick, I need to leave

My brain is trying to convince me that the co existing irons with red dots of the 92XI is a better investment instead of the steel frame of the 92x performance.
Other than that what else is there difference between those two?

Why not get both? Just save up for the second one
>>
>>65137450
Well NOW you tell me
>>65137458
Had a K footprint done. Which according to wager machine works will work with an EPS.
>>
>>65137462
the 92X performance is a boat anchor of a gun. there's also optic cut versions for the 92x performance

I think if you're looking for a general purpose gun the 92Xi is better. You can get a comp for it which will make up for the lack of a steel frame, I have never shot a compensated 92X Performance but the stock one wasn't something to right home about, I kind of did not like it and preferred a compensated 92 instead.

>>65137470
it's a little known fact but the EPS has it's own proprietary footprint while it works with 407k cuts and plates, it has an extra 2 posts for it's RMR to EPS adapter plate (which only works with the EPS). I made the mistake of buying an EPS plate once and realized it would not work with my RMSC optic.

For the dot I'm thinking of trying the defender enclosed st since it's 100 bucks cheaper than an eps
>>
>>65137548
Just get a glock 19 or 43x or something. Don't even worry about an optic yet. Just buy ammo and sponge info off youtube videos and what you see ppl doing at the range
>>
>>65137548
92Xi is a way better first gun.

defender enclosed is good. I would look around at the aftermarket 92X plates since some of them are lower than the OEM Beretta plate.

It can be converted to DA/SA with a different trigger shoe, literally just the trigger piece is what makes it SAO. Or you can grind off the nub to make it DA/SA again, I've done it.

Glawk is the epitome of "gud 'nuff"
It's plain and simple. It just werks. It does what it's supposed to. No more, no less.
That's why cops and militaries love these things, also they're stupid cheap when solid in bulk contracts to govs and other large organizations.

The vast aftermarket only exists because 80-IQ semi-'tards want "the best gun" so they buy what the cops and government agents use, only to later realize that governments and agencies give very few fucks, such organizations simply buy whatever works well enough at the lowest cost.
These semi-'tards exist in vast numbers, which means they're a lucrative market for predatory businesses.
When the semi-'tards realize that the $350-500 plastic pistols they bought are just plain and mediocre, they turn to the predatory aftermarket for "upgrades" that usually just end up fucking up the reliability of their guns, or causing P320-tier safety issues.
>>
>>65137666

You could try one of those and see if you like it.
As a gen-Xer raised on polymer-framed striker slop, was genuinely shocked at how much I like these old irons pigs after getting a bit of hands-on time with them.
Still firmly in the 1911-hater camp though, so I'm not a true fudd. At least that's what I try to tell myself.
>>
>>65137507
>noooooo dude dont ask a question in the handgun general!!

It's a perfectly valid question someone knows the answer to. Skateboard tape varies a lot between manufacturers, some of it flakes off the backer, some of them have poor adhesive backers.

>>
>>65137738
>would you really recommend rxm or the ech as first gun?
Yes
>>
>>65137780
The simplest explanation I can offer is just personal preference.
There are lots and lots of small things I dislike about 1911s that stack up to a mountain of things I just don't like.
Most of these things aren't objectively wrong or bad, they're just not to my taste.

Ever pick up a pistol that immediately just feels plain wrong in the hand? For me that's 1911s.
>>
>>65137738
RXM? Yes. Ech? No
>>
>>65137800
I guess. The only gun I had a very negative reaction to was the USP's DA trigger and also the HK CC9's grip. The guys at my LGS asked if I wanted to send the USP back just from the look on my face.
>>
>>65137624
>how the fuck do you even do that?

>>65137789
How does it attach? Literally looks like it clamps and squeezes the frame to death.
>>
>>65137790
>How old school are you talking with those revolvers you're eyeballing?
Honestly, everything from "modern" mid-20th century DA/SA magnums with swing-out cylinders to early single action gate-loaders and top-breaks built for black powder cartridges.
I'm aware that they're nowhere near "good" compared to modern handguns when it comes to cold hard numbers. But I personally just think they're neat, and I've found that I shoot better with them than I shoot with most autoloaders, regardless of if I shoot DA or SA.
>>
>>65137800
>Ever pick up a pistol that immediately just feels plain wrong in the hand? For me that's 1911s.

I know competition shooting features have always trickled down into duty guns, but the extended mag releases are beyond retarded. Has anyone who puts one on their duty/carry pistol ever even done a reload on a shot timer to see how little it matters?

>Bitch hands detected.
I suspect it's the other way around.
I'm a big guy (4U), with unusually large hands and long fingers.
My main complaint about the 1911s ergos is that the trigger is waaaay too far back for me, presumably that was changed on the A1 model to accommodate use by the hordes of swarthy malnourished aye'talian midgets invading the US at the time.
Ancient pre-A1 1911s and Kongsberg Colts fit my hands better, but I still wouldn't describe them as "good" in terms of ergonomics.
>>
>>65137848
it's supposed to be your POV after saying that.

yes it's very weird. double action as a safety isn't really needed in 2026 with trigger, sear, firing pin block safeties. The gun not having the mechanical energy stored to pop a primer isn't needed.

I used to give a shit about being able to reach the mag release with my dominant hand thumb, but I eventually gave up on that. Now, I hit the release with my support hand thumb. It hardly matters what gun I'm using, if it has a button mag release, it's going to be right above the last knuckle on my middle finger. Maybe it's .5-.7 seconds slower, and if that ever gets me killed you can piss on my grave, but leaving the dominant hand solidly on the pistol while the support hand does the whole reload has made reloads feel a lot more automatic to me. Bonus points for being in position to manually pull out or retain a mag easily.

It was much more of a pain in the ass than it should have been to get this P228 to hit where I wanted it with 147 grain bullets. I hated how it hit 2-3 inches low and I didn't want to give Sig any money, so I looked at aftermarket adjustable rear sights. The best one came from a company called MMC, but I ended up buying one with the company being out of business, so I had to work to get my money back. Then I got a suppressor-height rear sight and I got to filing. This is the result, and I think it looks decent.

Parts maintenance to roundcount with CZs is unacceptable for a 'modern' piece. 92 will have all the aftermarket you want for the right price. Consider trying the Beretta PX4 Storm for a striker fire DA/SA; rotary barrel's recoil reduction is palpable (will be even cheaper used than LE trade in 92s); passed similar round count torture trials as HKs.

Not trying to open up a can of worms but I see no real reason to choose 10mm over .45.
10mm obviously has more energy (and recoil) but I’m of the opinion that the way handgun wounding mechanics work make .45 really quite close to 10mm in terms of tissue damage. The other benefits would be availability/price of ammo and recoil that’s not quite such a big step over 9mm.

This is too real. There are really good hammers for the Beretta which delete all the slop in the single action and I no longer like them after having given my M9 with one of those hammers in single action to a new shooter. These days I keep either the stock hammer or the skeleton Beretta ones that have the geometry for the single action slop in there because everything is the same but you get just that little extra safety measure in there that you won't even feel while shooting the gun

No one should the APX here, we still the PX4 compact. All strikerslops are the same.

Except the P99
>>
>>65139668
The APX is a great Glock clone if you can get it for 350 or less with the tactical package

Pastebin will simultaneously say you cheated with a red dot while posting a Stoeger quote that dots dont matter at 7 yards to cope with his lack of optic.

Yeah .45 ACP, target on the right is from the draw and left was slowfire but I think I was trying to use target focus with irons per Ben Stoeger’s video

Pastebin that's better than your groups.

Do I buy a DJI Nano or similar to record my shots just for the sole purpose of dunking on pastebin or do I just buy more ammo?

how the FUCK do I stack shots when slow firing. I literally canNOT stack shots if I take longer than a second between shots. RSOs always yell at me (1 shot per 2 seconds rule) but they kind of allow it since I'm not the most retarded rule breaker in that range.

>>65139694
Unfortunately here guns cost 4x more than in the USA so I can’t afford to fuck up or buy multiple guns. I grew up in a cuck country so I haven’t handled guns much before but when I picked up the 92fs I felt a sensation in my genitals I didn’t get with the others.
There’s just something soulless about the modern striker polymer 9mms although plenty of people have told me to just buy a glock 19

This may be a dumb question but isn't it far easier to dry fire with a hammer gun than a striker gun because I can keep pulling the trigger without breaking my grip or having to rack the slide?
>>
>>65139896
With a double action you don’t need to reset since it does it for you. With a SAO you’d need to cock the hammer which isn’t hard.

I recommend dry firing with the dead/unreset trigger instead
>>
>>65139871

>>
>>65139899

>>
>>65139985
You pull the trigger as if it wasn’t dead

You need to do this once you’re dry firing more complex drills like multiple targets, Mozambique, bill drill.
>>
>>65139384
>I train for self defense
No you don't. If you did you would shut up and do it not post about it.

Just apply pressure? At some point trigger rebound springs were optimized out of handguns.

If you can't see them, how do you know they're a threat BEFORE you point a wml at them?

If you see them in the dark, they're a threat. If someone is there in the dark you don't know about, they're a threat.

He's talking about HD, because there's zero instances where you would be justified in using one outside of your own house. Any time this subject gets brought up, WML proponents never produce a scenario where you'd actually need one and be justified in using one.

If those are the aluminium grips I think those are good, especially for carry. I don't really like LOK's g10 or veloce or whatever it is but their aluminium/brass palmswell grips are pretty sweet if you want to do competitions.
