Some of the later bosses are brutally difficult. The final boss in particular took me a long time to knock over in her true form just because of how fast and punishing everything was. But the flow state from everything locking into place was just so so good to me.Im a fan of harder games in general, mind. I consider stuff like Dark Souls and Bloodborne to be kinda mid as far as difficulty goes. If put Nine Sols in line with FromSoft games like those in terms of difficulty overall - with the final boss herself far exceeding any of the challenges from those games (I kinda suck at parries, lol)
