There are specific things I'd like to change about my appearance if I ever have the money and the luck, but at the broadest level I love being a tranny like I always dreamed of being as a kid. A hugely important thing is learning to meet the feelings that arise in you with compassion. You have to imagine yourself as a dear friend. If they were distressed you wouldn't tell them "Stop it, that's stupid or whatever." It seems small and unimportant but once you start meeting these emotions with care and safety, and you practice that every day, even the days you feel good; you eventually stop externalising all your worth. It's a long road to recovery. And you will need to practice these things deliberately probably for the rest of your life (that's where I'm at at the moment) but over time the 0-100 freak out stuff and the painful attachment stuff goes away and your world will get a lot bigger.
