About half my department on the west coast are transfems who pass to varying degrees and most of them have some sort of college education that isn't relevant. You can also self teach stuff like Excel or SQL or Quickbooks and use that to get your foot in the door for an office job. Certain trades like being a locksmith you can teach yourself a bit and then get an entry level job in a shop and learn more (at least in my state the exam is open book too). You've already got a history degree so you're very capable of learning, and you're not too old to shift career gears by far.And from one burger to another, this won't be forever.

Sometimes I can't help but feel that being born the female sex is this terribly limiting thing. On the bell curve, female IQ is shown to cluster in the middle, as opposed to male IQ which is far more spread out. I figure that sort of "normalization" must apply to other facets in what makes up the female biology too. You never see women with the strange fetishes men have, like doorknobs or giants. Sometimes my own sexuality bores me because it's so rigid and typical of my sex. This sort of belief is only reinforced when I look at transgender individuals. There's a great number of MTF individuals that I take to be quite feminine, as in they were likely feminine even before transitioning. But it's rare that I see an FTM that truly acts masculine in my eyes. Their speech patterns, hobbies, fashion choices are all so terribly femalebrained. It feels like the female sex is a prison you can never fully break away from.
