The way I'm writing it (or trying to write it) is that she sees him as beneath her, but then it turns out she's actually struggling for the first time in her life and he's really kind and helpful even after she was rude to him. They get to know each other better, and work together for a bit, and then he asks her out on a date; her family sends a chaperone with them. So there shouldn't be any sense of coercion to any of it, but I'll keep an eye out during editing.

Now to be brief, the overriding issue most people could have is that he's got a two year age difference over her and he's 17, almost 18, while she's 15. Audiences are weird like that, especially if as you said they've been following him for some time already only to see him go AWOOGA for the first fat tits he's seen in his life.

As for tips on how to describe her chest when she's a 15 year old and you're attempting to publish on royalroad which takes an extremely dim view to anime romcom shenanigans in the first place, they don't exist. Actually yes. Basically all descriptions of her are going to highlight her unusual beauty, with descriptions of her breasts/chest/shirt/etc being there to draw the MC's eyes and put him at a conversational disadvantage. She does this at first because she is annoyed he stops acting so flustered around her. Later she does it to flirt with him, and as she grows older, she wears clothes that show off her bust simply because the man she likes likes it (obviously kept PG at its worst, and only escalating to this point after she's 18 and they're married). None of this is stated in the text overtly, but it's the underlying motivation for why she wears tight or low cut shirts, although it's not out of place in the setting fashion-wise. Her butt/hips are also generous but the fashion has her lower half mostly covered by long robes, skirts, dresses, etc.

The MC is deeply flawed at a fundamental, foundational level, and the heroine he meets here is his first real, unconditionally loyal partner. A true waifu, if you will. I think it's an integral part of her character, so unless it would get my story taken down, I do intend to keep it. Here's a part from the prior chapter, which is actually heroine's first appearance in the story.
She's talking to an elder of the Guild who's pretending to be a doorman to take the measure of new students given this is the first day of class. She doesn't know who he is.
Basically this is the start of heroine's arc, and she gets a lot of character development from now on which reflects the developments MC already went through and his own mistakes.


It was nearly one o’clock when the final expected student arrived. There was an odd air about her, [Elder] felt. Polite, but it felt forced, like she was used to being superior and unsure how to handle being in the inferior social position. Still, effort made up for her lack of grace.
She took the rod, and it lit up entirely, though dimly. There was some sign of training, though not much, but her total mana pool was the second largest he’d seen this morning.
She thrust out her chest proudly and stood tall as she could as she made the rod light up. Her dark, nearly black eyes sparkled innocently, and she tossed her long, glossy black hair back as she preened.
Ah, that was it, [Elder] thought to himself.
“Child,” he said gently, “have you not [turned 15] yet?”
“No, not yet, sir,” she answered. “But it’s only twelve days away. I’ll be able to finish the course,” she assured him.
“Hmmm,” [Elder] rubbed his chin as he looked down at the short young girl. “And you’re certain you want to be an [title]?”
“Yes!—sir,” she hastened to add. “I’m going to establish my own workshop under my father’s company.” She gave her father’s name, and [Elder] nodded in recognition. Still, they weren’t a family to be trifled with, not when they controlled such large shares of so many markets and industries.
“I see. Yes, the [Redacted] Trading Company has been a valued business partner of the [guild] for many years. Do give your father [title] [Elder]’s regards.”
The girl nodded, and [Elder] beckoned one of the maids over from the back wall. “Please escort Mistress [heroine] up to the classroom for the basic course.”
He watched the girl as she went, striding confidently behind the maid. It was unusual to have an [not 15] child take the course, but not as much as having a Knight’s foreign retainer.
He began to regret passing on the opportunity to teach this season’s basic course.

1. No
2. I had no idea that the narrative structure issues I have in this story would be such a problem. For all the reading I've done, this writing business is more complicated than I expected.
3. I'm specifically writing my simplest, least-emotionally-attached story first to get rapid feedback from RR readers. This is going really well and I'm learning a ton very quickly while building an initial fanbase that I can point towards future, better releases.
4. I didn't expect this to be a trilogy, but pacing issues led to the amount of words I have. So I split the story into three volumes. The second volume in particular is the worst with these issues, and I'm afraid it'll need a heavy rewrite before I put together an ebook and manuscript for amazon.

Potions is an exception but divine intervention is played for laughs rather than used to actually solve any problems, and the cheat in Potions is so busted that stakes are generally low anyway: it's more in the "cozy fantasy" subgenre.

I really think that's not necessary. As long as you stick to a schedule that's half of your output (eg, if you can write two chapters a week, post one per week), you can start posting immediately. There are things you can do to get a better chance of hitting Rising Stars, but if you just want to write and have some readers you'll eventually get there just by posting chapters regularly.

If you're going to write the entire thing ahead of time, you have two problems:
1. Why serialize? Just self-pub outright.
2. If you start serializing and readers discover a problem with your story (seen it happen many times), there's nothing the author can really do at that point without last minute rewrites that don't jive with the initial vision.

Managing burnout is a different kind of issue: some people just don't have the free time in their life or the mental bandwidth to write a story on top of video games, anime, netflix, gacha games, a part time job, community college classes, and mom yelling at them to do household chores. It's hard. One has to know when they have the mental energy to write a webnovel, or if they need to just get that extra hour of sleep.

I was. I had worked my way up to 2k/day, then started doing nearly 3k. So I forced myself yesterday and today to write until I hit 4k but I drank too much caffeine today and my eyes have felt like there's sand in them for hours. I've decided to skip the gym and take a half-sick day now.

That said I got 2 full chapters written both days and the feedback I got from my beta readers was roughly what I was looking for, so yeah overall pretty good. Just need to do a little more outlining work once my eyes stop hurting.

The idea its that i write an outline of events and dialogue so i have an idea of what its going to happen, like a squeleton chapter, then rewrite it to flesh it out and polish it

I'm trying to think of stories where I got hooked in. I think it's always been a mystery element for me. The "how did this happen? What's going on?" thing. The stories that I bore me at the start are the ones that give me lengthy explanations for it.

I liked Project Hail Mary and it started with a mystery about what is going on. The harem fantasy novel that I'm reading right now hooked me in with a similar mystery. Max level archmage has such a mystery at the start too, He Who Fights With Monsters as well.
