I couldn't get excited for Boonboomgers for the last little while. The first few episodes and introductions were really fun though. Mira's enthusiasm gave me genuine joy and excitement. MadRex and his rivalry with Taiya only lasted like 4 episodes. The Sanshitters are a joke (and not a very funny one at that) while Cannonborg is just there. This show has no fucking characters of the week, it's just a nameless crowd that gets attacked every single time. Honestly I love both Donbrothers and King-Ohger but Kiji/Inubrother looked like shit. King-Oh's CG backgrounds were also rough at times. It's just that those shows were also really strong otherwise that most people didn't mind the poor CG that much. If a story is engaging enough, the audience's imagination fills in for any defficiencies in props and effects, and even the shittiest effects are easy enough to treat as real.

That said, one day I will become a billionaire so I can buy King-Ohger and remake the backgrounds with state of the art tech.

I always feel these two having ongoing plot that has nothing to do with Don Clan etc is because it's a way to compensate having them transform all the time. By the time they actually fighting each other it's just a short scene.

yes from the very beginning in mmpr. that costume supervisor lady for operation overdrive as "more wearable". Apparently it's more accomodating of a greater variance in height and body shape.

Consistently it had much duller colors than sentai's and sort of hugged the figure in a less flattering way at that. kinda fat looking and you can see every bit of muscle underneath including abs sometimes. See white ranger's abs in the pic. pretty sure the same material was used for the In space civilian outfits where you could always see Selwyn Ward's abs straight through his shirt.

Not at all, some of us actually figured out his inspiration when he was revealed, and Ninja Captor was unofficially considered a Sentai by some people during the late 70s/early 80s. Plus, Donbrothers later did the same thing with Noutos being based on other old Toei shows.

it's interchangeable. the japanese use kenpo to mean all chinese martial arts in general the same way westerners use kung fu. even though that's not how the chinese themselves do it. Additionally japs say "martial arts" to mean western martial arts in general the same way.
