It's a great addition to S1 and also explains why they changed designs between the two, and also lets Tsubasa shine with her experience (supposedly only someone with her experience could downgrade to that gear, or at least on the spot). Reusing the S1 song is also a fantastic touch, always an S tier trope but this was one of the best uses of it.

In S1 EP1 we see Hibiki lining up for Tsubasa and Kanade's concert alone, and apparently it was Miku who invited her. It's interesting because I don't remember Miku mentioning being a fan of either Tsubasa or Kanade but she cared enough to invite Hibiki to their concert. Maybe they did address this and I just forgot? I'll find out soon enough
