It would be a shame if that's what it was. I'm hoping for something that at least ties in stuff that's currently open ended like Yuuya post-Ouka and the master, and also progresses the world a little, even if it has to backpedal and put humanity on the backfoot again. Some of those CGs showed BETA in new york and some kind of thing where people were phased in walls so who knows what it could be. Since they bill it as the "sequel" to Alternative, I imagine the multiverse is made relevant again in some way.

>Cruise missiles can fly at low altitudes to stay below enemy radar and, in some cases, hide behind terrain features.
>Newer missiles are incorporating stealth features to make them even less visible to radars and infrared detectors.
>Modern cruise missiles also can be programmed to approach and attack a target in the most efficient manner.
>For example, multiple missiles can attack a target simultaneously from different directions, overwhelming air defenses at their weakest points

They have bombs. The problem is that literally destroying the world wouldn't be enough bombs. The bombs are described as being effective against laser class. The problem is not unit-counters, but that humanity is playing 1v7 brutal AIs set to turtle mode. Even Yuuko says the military overfocuses on the threat of lasers against the sheer number of BETA.

>US Army logistics laughs in the face of the very concept
Episode from "Defense of Kyoto" when Japanese TSFs run out of ammo and are reloading at supply containers... when they are attacked by BETAs that broke through and devoured. Octopus-bugs don't need "muh, logistics!" and they win.

>>22897024
>My point is objecting to your idea of discarding useful material, and the F4 having desirable qualities for new pilots and the high-low mix.
Once again - F5 does the same but better and all subsequent generations and models of TSF are based on its "maneuverable" concept. F-4 exists only because of the inertia of thinking and the limited imagination of the ML authors - hell, even in the "Regenerative" magazines half of the technical information is devoted to variations of F-4 that do not give anything breakthrough.

>>22897220
You wrote nonsense after all...

>Tanks are simpler machines compared to TSFs
They are not effective in direct combat against BETA compared to TSF. At best, the role of tanks in MD is mobile artillery and a "distraction maneuver" against BETA. In general, the evolution of armored vehicles in the ML world should have assumed a transition from large-caliber guns to autocannons + missiles, but this is not observed.

>Soviet/Russian tank doctrine
Dude, I know without your useless observation that the ML authors don't know a damn thing and don't understand a damn thing about the Soviet Union and what they showed in TE is their Japanese fantasy. No matter what nonsense you write, weighed down with contempt and hatred for Russians, try to "analyze" the scene with the battle of "tanks against BETA" on the European front (outside of Schwarzesmarken, of course, because there are terrible commies there).

>Sounds like the URSS in 1941
Did you mean like France in 1940? In general, the Japanese did develop new TSFs, at least... And they saw the true "value" of friendship with the Yankees.

>your silver girls goes berzerk, razing everything on their path
Are you seriously arguing against the concept of an "improved pilot" in the fight against BETA "human factor"? And you do not accept any possibility of improving a system that has proven its effectiveness? Are you really an idiot?

Okay, in Yukon terrorists were able to gain access to the remote control systems of the TSF and hacked the entire base security system - according to your idiot logic, we should abandon the use of the TSF?

>can´t be serious...
There is no space elevator, but there is a war on the Moon and a large-scale orbital defense system and a space fleet of orbital divers. Go to hell.

>>22899547

Tanks are useless as anti-BETA units in the ML world. End of story.

>>22897338
>gap between generations are closer than depicted
Well, how can I say, the best (at that time) version of the F-4 aka Zuikaku was able to defeat the F-15 (2nd generation) in close combat during training, but this is considered an outstanding achievement of the famous pilot. The design limitations are still difficult to overcome.

>>
>>22901383
By the way, Yashiro Kasumi aka Trista Shestina (actually, in normal Russian it should look like Trista Shestaya (306ya), but Kouki is a lazy asshole), creates a certain idiocy of the situation with her presence at the Yokohama base.

The thing is that she is a high-level esper from the advanced Soviet weapons and technology development program, connected with both "Alternative 3" and the "Total Eclipse" project. At the same time, she was sent to Yuko completely alone, without an escort from the Russian military/special services and contacts with Red Russia at least at the level of reports and reports. In addition, she was not even given a normal name, only a numbered designation, which would have been bound to hit the reputation of the USSR in the framework of international cooperation and no one in the political leadership would have allowed it. And yes. why was she sent completely alone to participate in a project that can strengthen Japanese-Soviet cooperation if it would have been wiser to send a group of espers?

In short, the character is cool, but the situation with her is absurd.

>A good counter-offensive will destroy the Hives
Anon, you gotta remember what happened at Sadogashima. The entire attack started off perfectly, it was completely organized, and they ultimately destroyed the Hive. But it wasn't enough. Michiru and Kashiwagi, much of the forward forces were destroyed by the BETA, and even after the 00 Unit exploded the Hive, the stragglers alone almost overwhelmed Yokohama base.
You CAN do a good offensive or counteroffensive but it pure and simply won't matter. The BETA are just too many. First wave was completely crushed by a first attack after careful planning and strategy? Too bad, wave 2 out of 435 will come, ambush the spent forces with sheer numbers then push the frontline anyways. Respond with a counteroffensive and crush them again? Too bad, wave 3 out of 435 will show up and, again, crush the spent forces then push the frontline again.
If you know 40k, then picture the BETA as Tyranids. There is a very real (and dare I say even likely) chance of there being more BETA on the Solar System alone than Earth has TSFs, military and supply vehicles, bombs, missiles, shells, guns or even bullets, all combined, and they very definitely outnumber humans by orders upon orders of magnitude as well.

Good question. (also checked)
Pic Related.

Lasers have a disadvantage: they are LINEAR.
(if the could "bend" their rays, humanity was FUBAR since 1974)
On the other side, bullets, rockets and missiles travels like a CURVE on the planet´s horizon.
The closer to the ground it goes, the less time gets exposed, and the chances of being intercepted gets lower.

Once the Laser classes has been cleared (on a big area, of course), you can attack with the "conventional artillery" without worrying about "wasting ammo" in a suppressive fire.

>Okay, in Yukon terrorists were able to gain access to the remote control systems of the TSF and hacked the entire base security system - according to your idiot logic, we should abandon the use of the TSF?
Fuck no. Never implied to that extreme.
TSFs can be useful to assaulting Hives.
But having your "precious" robbottos getting SO MANY ways to get sabotaged, unnecesary risks needs to be avoided.
"Drug Enhancers" were questionable from the start.
"Rat Labs mixed with human DNA" that CAN be fucked up mentally, and fuck you up telepathically, by their own will, or the "Party´s Will™"... Naaah m8.
And BOTH shits can be remotely activated?

>Okay, you're just a brainless tank wanker.
No? its a "Heavy" SPG. not an MBT. Learn2diferentiate.
>This thing is useless due to its size and everything.
its still shorter (8 to 10 mts) than a TSF (18 to 20 mts), a bit wider (not a serious problem in a flat desert, huh?) and probably a little bit heavier (4 threads can handle better than 2, so...)
And that "everything"? wdym?

>Perfect BETA fodder.
>Armor thick enough for the smaller strains to toy around , before being shotgunned or coaxial-ed from the second line ("bug off")
>Weapons that can destroy or fuck up any bigger strain before it reaches nearby
>Internal space enough to store for long fights
you are starting to see it?

>impossible to transport
if its assembled in the same continent, there should´t be any serious problem.
>impossible to use
Come again?

>Tanks *(MBTs) are useless as anti-BETA units in the ML world. End of story.
Of course. MBTs they have short weapon range (6 kilometers, max) , crap armor against BETAs, and slighty slower than its main enemy , Tank Classes.

>Anon, you gotta remember what happened at Sadogashima.
Its more an exception than the rule. but, ok...

>The BETA are just too many.
How Many? there is a physical limit. After Phase 5 , Hives tend to stabilize their numbers or even decrease... which could be the "best" moment to attack...
>First wave was completely crushed by a first attack after careful planning and strategy? Too bad, wave 2 out of 435 will come [...]

OK, ok... time to stop the presses.
Pic Related.
those are the "canon" numbers.
from 450.000 to 880.000 BETAs in the Invasion of Japan (1998).
using the porcentage distribution, it results:
Fort: 4.500 to 8.800 (1%)
Heavy Laser: 4.500 to 8.800 (1%)
Laser: 4.500 to 8.800 (1%)
Destroyer: 31.500 to 56.000 (7%)
Grappler: 67.500 to 120.000 (15%)
Warrior: 67.500 to 120.000 (15%)
Soldier: 67.500 to 120.000 (15%)
Tank: 202.500 to 396.000(45%)

if some anon (/tg/,/k/ or /m/en) speculates the numbers on the human side to contain o eradicate those bugs, feel free to reply...
for me, going to bed.

...I dare to say that, it reminds me of the Eastern Front, or the entire WW2...

> Too bad, wave 3 out of 435 will show up and, again, crush the spent forces then push the frontline again.
Even if you can get a "second or third, or n wave assault", BETAs arent THAT fast. Satellites can predict days, even WEEKS when a "concentration" group reaches its critical mass and start moving. That happens on Evensk Hive, for example...

>that comparison to Tyranids
Yeah, and nah.
BETA infests a planet, and then, creates "carriers" that goes to other planets.
If BETA could "transport" the troops from the Moon (or Mars), THAT would be closer to the Tyranids.
"BETA can´t fly, and Charlie don´t surf"...

>F4
That's incorrect. TSFs are described as roughly separated into light and heavy types, with the heavy type better at fire support and protracted battles. The F15 is a heavy type just like the F4. The way muvluv describes and depicts how this works for TSFs compared to real world aircraft is a bit vague but that's the situation. The Japanese needed a light TSF designed for their specific needs so they wanted to build it themselves, so they imported the heavy types. Using only short-battle TSFs would create periodic holes in their defense so it makes more sense to use only heavy types if they can't have both, so the F4 makes perfect sense as their initial choice. It remains as a trainer TSF for the F15 and sees combat in emergencies.
Besides that the A10 is said to be incredibly effective so there's precedent to argue light types aren't the be all end all.
>of armored vehicles in the ML world should have assumed a transition from large-caliber guns to autocannons + missiles
This is also wrong. Mankind employs the 35mm autocannon tank, with infantry composed of 35auto and 120cannon tanks. They have low profiles and fewer computer systems than a TSF so the BETA can't detect them as easily. They're good at containment battles and ambushes. MLRS also seem fairly common.

more kurogane suffering would be kino though. if they want to make it a happy one then send meiya with him too. That way there's two Takerus that end up each with Meiya and Sumika. Meiya end in Extra has Takeru stepping up to run Mitsurugi and TDA03's end had him set up to step into the hero role so I'm sure they could write him into some leadership role alongside her. I think that would be the "least" bullshit way to bring the two of them back. This would at least have some grounds in stuff that is already established, I don't think there's any possible way to bring back the rest of the girls or regular Takeru without it being total bullshit.

I'm mostly just going off of what I saw in the VNs, so I can't contest specific unit numbers, but what is essentially what happened in them. Sadogashima, for instance, was where the UN forces had, during the first hour, completely dominated the field and pushed back the BETA until the Susano'o arrived, and it blasted the hive's monument.
All was well until the 00 glitched out, the Susano'o fell down, and suddenly yet another massive BETA wave came out of the ground, wrecking everyone's shit and forcing a total retreat. And even after wiping Sadogashima completely off the map with the Susano'o self-destructing, merely the survivors of the attack were still enough to almost completely wreck Yokohama. And that's not mentioning that other scene in the Original Hive invasion where a literal wave of BETA almost fall over the Susano'o Mk2.
I will admit that the Tyranid comparison was a bit faulty, since the BETA don't have any flyers or equivalents to Genestealers, but the core point of them VASTLY outnumbering humanity still remains, and like it happens in the VN itself, no amount of strategy and forward planning is truly enough against an enemy that doesn't need to worry about logistics, supply networks, morale, ammo and maintenance which also outnumbers them like 8:1

>So, you are comparing the yankees, who tend to be armed to the teeth™, to the "Imperial" Japan, one of the WORST planned defense ever devised.
As an example of how "logistics" does not save. The only thing the Yankees could offer during the BETA invasion of Japan was not "to victoriously use the brilliant logistical doctrine of bang-bang", but to burn everything down with nukes. When they were asked "Are you crazy?" they preferred to flee overseas rather than fight. Everything you need to know about the "magnificence" of Washington's strategy.

>>22903127
>TSFs are described as roughly separated into light and heavy types, with the heavy type better at fire support and protracted battles.
Well, that's the thing, the F-4 and F-5 weren't the founders of this "dual" use. The Phantom was simply ineffective. And, it seems, the difference between "heavy" and "light" TSFs is the range and duration of combat operations. But, the Europeans, for example, don't bother with this and use the Typhoon/Rafale for all tasks, as well as the A-5-based models before that.

>They have low profiles and fewer computer systems than a TSF so the BETA can't detect them as easily.
But if armored vehicles are not capable of quickly and in large numbers destroying BETA, then this does nothing. Tank guns have too little lethality against a large number of enemies and shoot too slowly... It would be better to do it like in "Phantom Brigade" - a tank turret is a mount for mecha weapons. Imagine a tank from ML with a TSF gun instead of a standard turret...

>Fuck no. Never implied to that extreme.
But that's exactly what you're proposing, you fucking idiot. The Scarlet Twins, alone, with a low level of "mental enhancement", cut down 1,500 BETA strains on their own in a slightly upgraded Su-37. Shiranui, with the latest experimental railgun, took out 3,000 BETA. Tarisa even threw a fit at Sandek, like, "There's no way ONE TSF can be THAT effective!" So, the use of esper pilots has proven to be extremely effective, and only an idiot like you could demand that this practice be abandoned based on one negative incident and the hypothetical possibility of an analogy in some future time.

>No? its a "Heavy" SPG. not an MBT
It doesn't matter what kind of garbage it is. The BETA will cut it off from the rest of the troops and surround it, then gnaw on its chassis and deprive it of mobility, and then eat it up despite the losses from fire, crushing the doctrine of using these coffins on tracks with numbers.

>Of course.
Tanks screwed up and became artillery support - that's canon. That's why TSF became the "main heroes".

>>22903099
>there is a physical limit.
Like "Yes". But usually, even the most thoughtful human operation often turns into a massacre and retreat due to the fact that the BETA manage to deceive the calculations and "at this particular moment, in this particular place" quickly concentrate a huge amount of biomass that simply sweeps away scattered forces and individual detachments of people, causing interruptions in communication and supply, as well as sharply zeroing out morale and determination to continue the battle.

Espers for the USSR are a key element in the development and use of new TSFs - Su-37UB and Su-47 Berkut - to return the native territories of Eurasia - "Plan Total Eclipse". Since the USSR did not disintegrate in the very shitty conditions of the total war with BETA in ML and/or the leadership did not sell it to the West before the events of TE and Alternative, then no one in the Russian leadership will agree to transfer a critically important asset to a potential enemy.

The UN is certainly not pro-Soviet (Japan and Australia are new members of the Security Council), the Japanese were allies of Washington until recently, and Prime Minister Sakaki caused an attempted coup with his pro-UN/USA policy "to the detriment of the interests of Japan", so to speak. Alternative 4 is a Japanese project and it is supervised at the UN by a Japanese woman with a dubious reputation...

So, why the hell would the Reds hand over a representative of their most important project to a lady who, for the sake of her/alt 4" interests, can hand him over to the Yankees? And why would the Soviets help the Japanese project if the Tokyo government is more interested in relations with Washington than in creating a united front in the Far East?

The UN demands are, of course, important for humanity, but "the Union needs these resources more, so we'll help with something else," for example. You can always politely send such requests far away.

And even if by some miracle of fate Kasumi ended up in Yokohama, this does not affect the fact that she is an esper and represents Russia in an international project, which means she could not have been ALONE. Other espers, doctors and esper specialists, soldiers and security guards from the escort + officers and civilian representatives. They ALL had to be present, simply because of the importance of espers to the USSR.

There is a good, but unfortunately unfinished and, apparently, abandoned fanfic-crossover on Code Geass x Muv-Luv TDA - Changing Plans, in which people from the world of ML learned to make interworld portals based on G-elements... >F4, tank
You had me at the point of exasperation a while ago. The tanks have the same weapons as TSFs you fucking loon, they can autoload straight from the ammo box until they run dry, have longer barrels, and a more stable platform. They can also drive backward while shooting while the TSFs need to consume propellant for surfacing.
>F-4 and F-5 weren't the founders of this "dual" use
This statement is pure sophistry. The F15 was meant to be a heavily armored ground attack plane and look at where it ended up. The dual use idea you're talking about wasn't built in to aircraft designs, it was discovered when the military realized they didn't need to modernize their weapons because 10F22s + 20F16s would beat 20F22s. That's what you can't wrap your head around. Operating a single aircraft as a multirole is generally not ideal and no one really knows what the fuck a multirole is anyways.
I don't see why Japan would be better off without a trainer for the F15, or why you're so adamant about this when real world aircraft procurement is pants-on-head retarded.

oh I found the shower scene that I thought I remembered seeing. I thought I was going schizo when I couldn't find any mention of it. what was the context even? I'm assuming it's from the shitty gacha game.
>>
>>22911696
the gacha lore is a private military company found a way to observe the multiverse and they're using that to create memory imprints of all your favourite characters which they then put into clone bodies that at are used as disposable tsf pilots. When one of them dies they just make a new clone so that said character can continue to dress like a whore in comedy events(as demonstrated by Yui)
They pretty much tried to copy Servants from Fate/ but made it even more soulless
>>
>>22911824
yeah but did takeru finally get to flop his cock out in front of the girls like starship troopers?
>>
>>22911833
Takeru isn't the main character of the game, you play a faceless and nameless commander character. They introduced Takeru in a comedy event and now every time he would be relevant to the events of the main story some character just goes "He isn't around right now"
>>
>>22911844

Meant "Akane has the mad-on for both Takayuki and Mitsuki".
>>
>>22913767
PC: Takayuki and Haruka try to fuck in her room but they stop when he tries to penetrate her because she seems uncomfortable and in pain, he ensures here it's okay and they can try another time (then the incident happens and Takayuki fucks Mitsuki during the timeskip)

Console: They're still on her bed but the whole scene reads like a 4kids edit where both of them remain fully clothed and they stop because he hugs/embraces her too hard (you're supposed to imagine the cut content and cgs).

2024: Console version but they made it even shorter without telling anyone because someone was scared of steam

>The tanks have the same weapons as TSFs you ...they can
No, and they can't. Tanks are too limited in ammunition (50+/- shells + 2500+/- rounds (7-12 mm) for Type-90 versus 32,000 rounds (36 mm) and 48 rounds for Shiranui) and can't match the TSF in speed and 3D maneuverability. In addition, tanks require more people for the crew.

> it was discovered when the military realized they didn't need to modernize their weapons because 10F22s + 20F16s would beat 20F22s.
Well, the high-low MiG/Su and the American-Soviet Jiang are purely political decisions, and the Europeans use the main TSFs of one "light" type... So it's doubtful.
As for the F-22 - in the TSFIA its results against the F-15/16 are almost 100 to 1, and against the Shiranui 7 to 1. Roughly speaking, in your example the F-16 does not play a role except as scrap metal with corpses.

>that means that you need 200 to 400 TSFs with THOSE kind of psychos going "Chainsaw Moscow". LMAO.
This means, idiot, that in a standard "CODEX-like" combined arms anti-BETA operation, significantly fewer TSFs with espers will be needed, and will reduce losses in such valuable combat vehicles. Roughly speaking, the Soviets will need significantly fewer TSFs to liberate a larger territory, which makes sense.

>It wasnt their original purpose.
If it's "stupid" but it works, then it's not "stupid". Esper pilots are extremely effective.

>welp, dunno if the USSR are still producing new ESPe-... nope
Are you so stupid that you can't read?
"With the Alternative III plan now over, the Barchenowa espers have had their primary directive changed often, going wherever Soviet High Command require them. Due in part to their high maintenance, the Barchenowa espers are often used in experimental missions that are considered high-risk."
"Since they were not ready before the end of Alternative III, the hundreds of Sestina created have since been used in a variety of both Soviet and UN-led operations and are still considered very useful despite their original purpose being deprecated. Some are used as pilots whereas others are maintained as support personnel due to their special mind-reading abilities."
The Union still uses espers in various fields and quite effectively, so there is no REAL reason to abandon them. Besides, the new Su-47 was created with esper pilots in mind. And yes, "perhaps the last generation" in an article on ML-Wiki without a reference to the source does not qualify as proof of the thesis.

>WAAAAGH-tier in tactics
You worthless tank-wanker, you still can't accept that tanks screwed up in ML? Keep crying.

>the moment you guys show the first signs of failing your task
Even in the anti-Soviet context of the Total Eclipse, the Russians are not going to lose and have developed a very interesting combination of espers + TSFs in preparation for the reconquest of the Motherland. In addition, although the Reds are leasing Alaska, they retain the ability to supply their TSF models to other countries and conduct research on G-elements, so they have potential brush off the Yankees.

>why the soviets let THE ENEMY test their "wonderful weapons" in their own territory?
Enemy? A strange word. For some reason, even those whose countries have never had conflicts with Russia can't stand Russians in TE, but it doesn't seem to come to direct hostility.
Again, judging by the VN, the Japanese themselves decided to conduct visual tests of the railgun on Soviet territory at the highest level under the murky justification of demonstrating "technological superiority" and demonstrating something there.
And yes, you didn't answer the question.

>maybe the yankees would get easier ways to "get" albino pussy.
Well, considering that the Yankees in the lore have no connection whatsoever with the espers, then apparently not.

>and you want all that important personnel out of the front?
From Alaska, actually, because both espers and related projects are under the direct control of the USSR's top brass through the strategic reserve unit. And for such especially valuable personnel, the appropriate specialists will always be found.

>Inia wanders around without any escort or guard...the policy Yukon Base has
This girl doesn't recognize any rules and regulations, and she also enjoys concessions from Sandek and is constantly being sought, so it's a strange argument. Kasumi, for example, has a completely different personality. We're talking about a matter of national importance for the USSR, so Yashiro being left to her own devices at a UN base is sheer nonsense.

>how Takeru became of the Hero of Operation 21st
Interesting point, by the way, what eventually happened to the Valkyries in TDA and the cadet platoon? Considering Shirogane's "dead eyes", one can only assume that there were casualties among the main staff, but who?

Marimo and Meiya are alive, but their presence in TDA means that it was not their route. So one of the girls flew into space with Yuuko and Kasumi. And the rest? Ayamine and Sakaki were never mentioned in connection with politics and the army, as were the names of their daughters, although Sagiri and Komaki are present. Yoroi was never mentioned in connection with intelligence and secret affairs, as was Mikoto. Marimo and Meiya do not remember them at all either.

So, any ideas?

All based on facts. Yuuko is perceived as some kind of "evil" with whom they are forced to cooperate and this is considered extremely risky and raises many questions in TE. Prime Minister Sakaki managed to "please" the UN/USA so much that the troops rebelled against his policies, and this in a frontline country.

A context is needed here. Japan always had rebellions in their political system until WW2.
in war or peace, revolts and coup d´ etats was common for them. even if the Prime Minister was doing in a different manner, someone will start shitting up because didn´t like it.

3: 8000 36mm rounds weigh >12 tons. Your mysterious 32000 figure is two TSF's weight in bullets. An aircraft cannot carry more ammunition than a ground vehicle.
4: Stealth is useless against the BETA and you're literally falling for in-universe PvP autism propaganda.
5: That's how the USAF does it in the real world and that was their real rationale.
6: You can't seriously ignore the maintenance crew when talking about personnel requirements.
7: You can just extend the back of tank's turret to double or triple its ammo load.
8: The Schwarzesmarken did it in modified F4s so nothing you've said means anything and later pilots are all just weak or something. Like fucking Ace Combat Zero or something.

You're fixating on really weird things and trying to draw a contradiction from an appeal to realism without even using consistent logic. If the europeans's choice of TSF makes sense when it's based on a real world half-measure then Japan's choice of TSF makes as much sense.
Anyways this is a full on autism resonance cascade and I can't fucking stand Ivan's writing anymore.

>Marimo and Meiya are alive, but their presence in TDA means that it was not their route.
Unlimited has 2 routes per heroine retard

NTA, that second route of the heroine is just the same end.

>Marimo and Meiya are alive, but their presence in TDA means that it was not their route
Anon...
Takeru's expression changes in annoyance when Meiya is insulted
He calls out her name during the explosion at the hive
Meiya clearly is still emotionally attached to him in her conversation with Maya
and there's specifically artwork that shows him holding the Minaru Kamui's handguard
it's obvious that TDA is Meiya's normal Unlimited ending where Takeru doesn't convince her to go to space

Rumbling Hearts status?

Yeah. You could see Makabe and Ikaruga constantly probing him for any sign of ambition. Even let French! Beatrice escape
