Reposting since last thread ended.Looking to get into Super Sentai, as it's the only major Toku series I haven't really gotten involved with.Debating between Ryusoulger or King-Ohger. Like the effects I've seen from the former, but really dig the costumes and themes from the latter.Is one better than the other as someone's first Super Sentai series? Are there better options?

I'd probably recommend Ryusoulger if you're interested in what the series is like more commonly. It's a pretty decent little show that's a good watch on an episode by episode basis with a pretty well executed ending. King-Ohger's generally more well thought of, but it's very different from the vast majority of Super Sentai. Some detractors do not care for the second half of King-Ohger, but lots of people like it too. Your choice if those are the options you're giving yourself.

I love rangers with slight color variations on their suit due to being black like Dynaman or white like Gaoranger and I love mythical animals so I love the Unicorn suit. Does anyone else feel that Sentai selling poorly isn't the fault of the shows themselves but rather the toys just continously being shit? Every season since Kiramager has been really popular and constantly trending in Japan but the only kind of step up toy-wise since Kyoryuger was Donbrothers main mech, otherwise the roleplay and mech toys are kinda trash compared to the competition.

>>22960386It's hard to say because every take in Shinobi basically did its own thing aside from the tokusatsu ninja aesthetic and keeping the cast going.Original Zi-O episodes hinted at a series where the theme was protecting the powerless (with Another Shinobi being a corrupted version of it, abusing power to bring wrong "justice").Shinobi mini-series on the other hand, introduces the whole "protecting the princess/love triangle plot", rather than focusing on protecting people in general, but ends setting up Shinobi's master being a traitor who was setting up a Rider battle-like conflict from the shadows.Shinobi vs Tycoon completely skipped over any of the cliffhanger from the mini-series, with Shinobi's master still being a good guy and with him, not one word about the Rider battle, with the true enemy being a new group introduced here which is led by Shinobi's own father.

King-Ohger and Gokaiger are pretty much the only shows that you shouldn't start with because of said crossover aspects, otherwise everything is standalone and returning characters from previous shows don't acknowledge their show much.
