>>22985023I still don't know if that laser shotgun is good or not. Are you meant to only u@e it in charged mode?
>>22985028NTA but it's decent, you use both. The charge is great for stunning an opponent out of a melee attack or boost kick and it does good damage. I personally prefer the other laser shotgun though.
>>22985023It works really well in all in melee builds.
This game has the worst netcode I've ever seen in 20 years of gaming. I've seen games with bad netcode but this is something else.
>>22985095This isn't even remotely as bad as other FROM games, including past AC games and all Souls games, so I have to assume you've never played them.
>>22985095warframe had a worst netcode for years
>>22985097In Dark Souls you could dodge preemptively. In AC6 you physically cannot dodge attacks with a warning if you have more than 20 ping.
I think I finally figured out what RaD was thinking when they made the mule booster, it’s supposed to turn heavy bipedals into a discount version of hover tank ac's that just gently float by tapping the trigger. clearly the person who made it was still high on coral with it’s horrific stats in every other category but at least it kinda makes sense now.
>>22985023trying to make laser pistol work for a lower-level arquebus pilot ACi've been getting pretty good games with it and i think i made EPHEMERA fit pretty well aesthetics-wise
>>22985099Sounds like a skill issue, I don't have this problem.
>>22985138Nice tits bro. Also the 3 cell plasma missile is better than the 6 cell.
>>22985099Because dark souls iframes are defender sided. Also, past AC had worse netcode, BUT those games are designed for a certain playstyle (using cover and staying out of your opponent's lock box instead of trying to dodge projectiles in the last second.
>>22985149the director called it "minmaxxing your hitrates"
>>22985157I mean, it's absolutely true. It was a deliberate creative choice in AC4/A because the gameplay was modelled after the impersonal and detached experience of modern air combat. You were supposed to feel like you were flying a fighter jet with legs, where the technology was doing most of the work for you. It wasn't accidental that they extended engagement ranges so much compared to prior games that you could genuinely spend whole matches fighting a target too distant to actually see as anything but a blip on your lockon UI.Part of my problem with AC6 is that while they clearly chose to distance themselves from that direction, the gameplay really does just boil back down to minmaxing hitrates in the same detached and impersonal way that AC4 did, but with movement that's less free and interesting to compensate for it. There's really nothing to serve as skill expression in 6 beyond looping the optimal movement pattern for your loadout/matchup or mastering parry timing (which more or less breaks the game). For the most part any given multiplayer match between players that have at least mastered the basic controls is more determined by build optimization, matchup and latency than anything those two players actually do during the fight.
>>22985146is it a reload speed thing or a tracking thing? i'm just gonna syncfire it with the plasma verts so i don't really need it to reload fast. it only adds 3 boost speed, too.
>>22985162reload speed and it does the same damage, the only thing the six cell offers is multi-lock and it’s slightly harder to dodge. if I were to use a six cell I would combine it with a three cell for the best of both worlds while unleashing a unavoidable storm of plasma.
>>22985162It's about reload, but there's more to it. Plasma missiles are awkward in that an enemy will never get hit by more than one explosion. Meaning the extra missiles on the 6 cell are almost always just wasted. Even if you're sync firing it (why tho) you're just paying extra weight and drain tax.>>229851913 cell can multi-lock too.
Any model-kit enthusiasts here? What brand of colour do you recommend? I used Revell for this one, since it was available but I kinda dislike the silver, now.
>>22985277I suggest to ask the gunpla thread. If they shitpost around go to /toy/.
>>22985277Lacquers are ez mode, cure fast, have very good hardness after curing and have the best metallics. Mr color, gaianotes and tamiya are the most common ones. There's also many chink brands, the most known ones are usually good. There's more to be said depending on where you live; availability, where to buy if you can't get it locally etc. Like the other anon said go ask either /gpg/
>>22985277Second for Mr. Color. Their GX and Crystal lines are great for mechs.
Why are there two /acg/s right now?
>>22985099just play the old games faggot stop expecting the game "based on the concept of armored core" to be worth your time4 and FA have defender netcode and you can dodge. Oldgen is delay based and you can dodge. VD is attacker sided but the game doesn't aim for you so it sucks less. All of them emulate well and work on rpcn.
>>22985407three, there's the old thread, there's the new thread, and there's a shitpost thread from the other day a bunch of retards keep bumping
>>22985414Sooo...Who IS the biggest hunk in AC and why is it Walter?
>>22985426Walter is in his fucking 70s and walks with a cane.
>>22985428I am already smitten, no need to convince me further.
>>22985408>VD is attacker sided but the game doesn't aim for youMaps have cover to hide in and you are expected to flank people with GB and walljumps.
>>22985487I feel like VD had a ton of really good ideas. The movement feels extremely nice, and the chonky aesthetic works really well with the gritty setting. Plus, walljunping instead of just OBing into the sky is really fun. If they make a new game that's literally 5th gen mechanics without scan mode and the defense triangle retardation I'd be super happy
>>22985435That's pretty gay dude.
>>22985095AC6's net code is so bad it literally gimps an entire class of builds. Quick boosting lightweight builds would be dominating if the net code didn't suck and guarantee you were gonna get hit. Lasers are an example of something massively boosted by shit netcode. You can visibly dodge every laser and still have half hour AC's health get carved away
>>22985022nice, I'm severely backlogged but they are the next kits I'm planning on getting. How were they to build?
>>22985547its very simple but detailed
>>22985160>the impersonal and detached experience of modern air combat>fighting a target too distant to actually see as anything but a blip on your lockon UII've lost count of how many times I failed a mission because I rammed into a target.
>>22985494>without scan mode and the defense triangle retardationLet me guess, you mainly played single player and duels. Those mechanics enable bulid variety, team comps, target prioritization and strategies in conquest battles.
>>22985557Nta but I want a single player game, couldn't care less about playing with other people.
>>22985560ac6 is for you.
>>22985023thanks for pointing out the sea spider elevator /acg/, it fucking rules for screenshots
>>22985494>>22985557The defense triangle was fine and wasn't the problem, the issue was the dumb as fuck armor breakpoints.>Oh you have exactly one point less damage than their kinetic defense? Lol enjoy doing no damage retard. It actually THROTTLED build variety because it made all guns except the highest power ones viable and forced everyone to build around the breakpoints which meant a lot of main AC parts just got ignored by everyone due to having dog shit defense. I hated lack of flight and scan mode shit in gen 5 too, but the major issue plaguing the gen was this horse shit.
>>22985580>made all guns except the highest power ones viableI meant non-viable, obviously.
>>22985580this anon gets it. VD hit the sweet spot for energy regen without needing constant scan mode too
>>22985586Yeah VD did a lot to correct the sins of ACV. Unfortunately it did fuck all to fix the armor breakpoint issue though so it remains the single greatest sin of the entire gen.
>>22985580>>Oh you have exactly one point less damage than their kinetic defense? Lol enjoy doing no damage retard.Armor break.

On the one hand, good because Souls PVP is dogshit. On the other, preset characters sounds really gay unless they have really refined movesets.
>>22985755Which is ridiculously ironic given AC would make more sense for that game mode.
>>22985757Ds2 pvp was kino though.

>>22985748It's a gacha coop survival (there are set characters and you have to survive 3 nights with 2, or 3?, other players to fight the final boss)
>>22985748That fire wall closing in is a really bleak omen, they better not do it. Worst part is that the gameplay and character designs actually look fucking killer>Nameless kingI laughed out loud, they're not even reskinning him. At least they pretended to care with the asset reuse in ER before. Really weird they'd show him in the trailer considering all the cool original designs they showed like three headed wolf of radagon and basilisk meditation man
>more soulslop>co-op/multiplayer only tooI don't know what to be mad about, the shitty reveal itself or the fact that normalfags will devour this fantasy-flavoured sludge like feral animals anyways.
>>22985780>no coop AC gameIt's joever.
>>22985779They also showed off Centipede Demon and Duke's Dear Freja, which is making me think that this is a big stupid crossover game where you fight bosses from across the Souls series. Hell a couple characters look like they're wearing the Black Witch set from Dark Souls and Maria's set from Bloodborne.
Borderlands 4? More like Boringlands Snore!
>>22985791They also show the fire keeper from DS3 prominently, so it's definitely some multiverse boss rush slop. I just hope they don't murder the lore of their games along with murderinf their credibility

>>22985803erm... actually, the most important part of a game is if it's a battle-royal hero game...
>>22985795I don't know how anyone has faith in that franchise at this point.>>22985797I'm expecting a bare minimum excuse plot and potentially all in le head shenanigans to explain it, connecting this to the main lore of the games would be extreme retard energy.>>22985806Oh boy do I have the perfect game for you, it even has giant robots and just got annoucned for beta!

>>22985995>add a few dozen parts and some new mapsAC parts are more difficult to model and animate, otherwise AC6 would have as many frame parts as Elden Ring has armor pieces
>>22985995>AC sequels are the easiest games to make period.I mean yeah, that's why we had so many in the PS2 days. The problem is if they want money, an AC sequel DLC is unlikely to get it. They'd be better off just making an entirely new AC game if that's the goal, which is probably what they're doing. This is also why Nightreign isn't an ER DLC even though it probably could be, a standalone spin-off will get WAYYYYY more purchases.
>>22985995I'd rather not have more AC games like Ninebreaker or Another Age anon. Not every game needs to have a sweeping narrative 6 does, but I want more than an excuse plot.
>>22986020Do people actually play ac for the plot??
Huh, the Trainer AC is surprisingly good.
>>22986022Not specifically but I like having something to make the world I'm in feel more immersive. 1's story is really basic but it does let you choose which corpo to back at the end. 2's story is more fleshed out by the emails you get and it makes Klein feel like a genuine threat to mankind as a whole.
>>22986022NTA but I do. I refuse to ever replay NB or FF due to complete lack of plot. I've replayed every game in the series except those many times. Haven't touched those since they came out.
>>22986041It's literally just a basic bitch MELANDER frame.
>>22986059Sure but that's why I am surprised. Trying to clear the game with preset loadouts, I thought Trainer would be worse.
>>22986062No there's very few builds you can't beat the game with if you try hard enough. Honestly worst build off the top of my head out of the premades is Mad Stomp, but even that can beat the game fine if you're good enough to land the chainsaw.
So, what was the point of the secret ac level?Fucking PACMAN had a new game.
>>22986068something tells me they were supposed to make an elden ring episode...
>>22986068>>22986076>"Well you see we tried to make an Elden Ring episode instead, but Keanu kept saying "fuck" and "god damn" which didn't really fit so we changed it to armored core at the last minute."
>>22986041It's unironically one of the best presets. Great sustained damage, good frame and internals.
>>22985907Yeah, I'm not really mad about it. It's just some throwaway standalone title and there's no way they're not milking Elden Ring after everything. Still prefer AC6 expansion though.
What's with the overreaction? It's being made by their b-team so it's very likely something for ac is in the works at the same time.
>>22986096As I said earlier, Miyazaki isn't working on Nightreign. Couple that with the fact that he voiced interest in directing an AC game after the success of AC6 and it's incredibly likely AC7 is currently in the works. That being said, AC6 is almost certainly abandoned. No DLC, gen 6 is stopping here.
>>22986109>No DLC, gen 6 is stopping here.I guess people won't care if they release it next year or something, a bit too late and all that.
>>22986110Honestly once we hit September/October we should've written it off then that the DLC wasn't coming. SOTE got announced a year after ER almost on the dot. AC6 takes much less work, once we blew past the anniversary that was a fairly glaring sign. Another smoking gun here is the patch we got a while back with a bunch of parts in it completely free. My guess? DLC was initially planned so they saved those for it, but Miyazaki or someone else then pushed to scrap it and just start AC7. They didn't wanna waste the parts so, they gave them to us for free. Were I a betting man, I'd be throwing my life savings on DLC being canned and AC7 currently baking. With any luck, it'll be big, as that'd justify Nightreign being a B team asset flip to tide people over. They wanna drop the most kino AC ever made. Also keep in mind, Miyazaki first joined FROM during the AC days, he might be viewing this as his magnum opus as a result. This could be good or bad though, depends how Soulsy he gets with it.
>>22986114>depends how Soulsy he gets with it.How do you get more soulsy than 6? >>22985157
>>22986116
>>22986116Easy, adding I-frames. That'd be a nail in the coffin for AC. Ever watch a Soulsbabby stream AC6 as their first AC game? Their first major complaint every fucking time is the lack of I-frames so they can't just quickboost like a monkey and get free dodges like in Souls where you can panic roll your way through nearly every game save for some high end bosses.
>>22986119>adding I-framesOh god. Please no.
>>22986068Concord would get a character drop today too.
>>22986119>Panic roll your way through nearly every gameDoesn't work. Shit behaves almost identically to the QBs in 6 already. The only difference is that QBs in 6 require you to move "instantaneously" from the warning whereas rolling has a slight delay on the action itself.Think of it like, AC6 has you press the button the instant the attack happens, Souls has you try to press the button miliseconds before the attack connects.6 is already a AC-Souls bastard child
>>22986126I'm sure all of the 7 Concord fans would've been happy about that.
>>22986127Don't tell me it "doesn't work". I've played and beaten every Souls title. You can, in fact, beat most of the bosses by just panic rolling. Shit dude all you have to do to confirm it is go watch some dipshit vtuber or whatever play a Souls game. The only real exception to this is Elden Ring because FROM finally wised up and made a lot of bosses punish panic rolling, but even then it still works on like half the damn game.
>>22986130Ah that'd be it. I've only done Sekiro and Elden Ring. My experience with souls is those and the only places panic rolling will even slightly work is on the weakest possible mooks or trying to flee.
>>22986131Yeah go play DS1 or something, you'll be floored at how easy it is because you can just smash roll the second the boss does -anything- and be fine like 80% of the time.
>>22986133I've been planning to but obviously I've been out here doing some more AC games after ER's dlc. I thought ER was surprisingly easy. I can only imagine how DS1-3 will go if this is the case for them all
>>22986134Yeah none of them are particularly hard but ER is by far the hardest in the series provided you avoid shit like summons. If you wanna have fun, go play Bloodborne. It's easily the most engaging in the series. People fellate Bloodborne a lot but it's for good reason, it's easily the best Souls mechanically. DeS, DS1, and DS2 are all incredibly clunky and DS3 plays a lot like ER but easier. Bloodborne though? That's a good time and a fresh change of pace.
>>22986136Fuck yes. That excites me. I already love the aesthetic choices they went for so it's really good to hear that. Will probably do it after the other souls games so I can enjoy the contrast. Don't think I'll be touching Demon's Souls tho, unless I really, really want more Souls stuff and can't convince myself to play grandpa shit like King's Field.
>>22986136>>22986138You guys got me wanting to replay Bloodborne. Fuck it, I'ma do it. Not like we are getting new AC shit anytime soon.
>>22986138Despite the meme status Dark Souls (the game) isn't special because of its difficulty, it's the game design. There is nothing quite like finding your first shortcut in Dark Souls, it will make you say oh shit that's cool out loud.
>>22986138>grandpa shit like King's Field.Don't play King's Field, I wouldn't wish that shit on my worst enemy.
At least now I can freely commission art of my main AC in AC6 since we aren't getting DLC I guess.
>>22986164do you know anyone who has good prices?
>>22986165Nope, I just know an artist I really like. Money is no object so I don't really care what he charges, besides it's gonna be in yen anyway since he lives in weebland.
>>22986166oh, nicei've been looking into this guy who does really insane stuff for cheap but i haven't checked if he's okay with camo patterns
>>22986169Eh at most I would just expect camo to cost extra, that's a lot of shading.
>>22986119It's funny, pre-nerf Balteus actually did a good job teaching people who are more used to Souls that the game doesn't gave i-frames. Once they realize that their gameplay gets immediately better. It's great honestly.
>>22986172I really miss pre-nerf Balteus, I just found him incredibly fun to fight. Unlike Snailteus which is about as enjoyable as a dentist appointment. The death scream in JP is still absolute kino though.
>>22986174I never did beat him before the nerf, if I didn't have work in the morning I would have beaten him the night before the need happened.>spoilerIt's like they actually shot him with a particle cannon lol.
>>22986181>Only ever played a pirated unpatched version>Never experienced the nerfed bossesWhich bosses got hit? Was the nerf significant?
>>22986293The automated bosses besides Worm got hit in that patch IIRC. So Balteus, Sea Spider and Qubeley.
>>22986297But those were the best ones... did they lobotomize them like Radahn?
>>22986293for balteus i think it was mostly a missile tracking nerfthere were also c-spider and ibis nerfsibis had the tracking on some of its attacks significantly weakened iirc. if you know that one attack it does where it flies up into the sky and charges up a spooky AoE laser blast, it used to practically snap to a specific angle to you regardless of wether you jumped or QB'd
>>22986299I think Balteus's missiles' tracking got nerfed (hard), I don't remember what happened to the Spider maybe they made it squishier or something. Also don't remember what they did to Qubeley.
>>22986300I don't think the nerf for Ibis even matters, it is very much if you know how to beat its ass you'll beat its ass and vice versa. Balteus was the only one that really got affected by the patch.
What was his deal? Autism?
>>22986451>>22986451That AC archetype is guaranteed mental problems

>>22986116>How do you get more soulsy than 6?Magitech mecha.
>>22986311Besides missile tracking getting nerfed, Balteus also had a nasty bug with it's cannon fixed, where it would hit you even if you stood beside him.
>>22986164I am thinking of buying a custom t-shirt with my emblem on it.
>>22986451>>22986458Bros? My default build looks like that
>>22986500Have you ever been called a sub or bottom? Have you ever felt jealous/slighty attracted to more dominant Ravens? Do you have an inferiority complex?
>>22986133It's not just the rolling, Dark1 in general has a shitzillion defense-favoring options, between Endurance enabling roll/guard tanking and the fact you can roll up to a fight with 20 chugs of Sunny E, or you can snort humanity if you're into that too, it's honestly impressive how much bullshit you can deal with in between YOU DIED screens.
>>22986534The Soulsborne franchise "suffers" (heavy air quotes here" from gradual speed up and tightening of response times as it progresses, which if you grew up along with the franchise was aweslme as you felt yourself improving, likel leveling up IRL. But it also means going back to older games makes them baby easy. A modern soulsborne player can likely do no death runs of DS1 without any real effort. The hardest boss in DS1 is easier than most of the ER bosses. Which also makes me wonder how the fuck they're going to port them to Nightreign. Centipede Demon has like 2 moves ad is liss easy in an arena that's 90% lava. An ER caharacter fresh off the turorial can dumpster it, let alkne the super agile heroes from NR. And being the lazy asset flip this is I doubt they're givign the old bosses all new fights, since it also defeats the purpose of bringkng back old bosses
>>22986297 (me)Actually Enforcer never got touched I believe. I really like the design and intro, don't know why that slipped my mind.
>>22986556It's a lot like going to AC3 after playing a bit too much Last Raven, you find yourself kinda running circles around the older game thanks to how much more LR was inclined to tear you apart for sloppy play.

After testing, Mind Alpha arms can reliably control the recoil of Ludlow and the following weapons while maintaining perfect accuracy>weapons that can be spammed with Ludlow with no recoilRansetsu-RFVP-66 Laser ShotgunVvc-760 Plasma RifleNebula Redshift>Weapons that require a half second of trigger discipline but otherwise remain accurate, ordered from easiest to hardestWLT 011 Coral RifleNebula Plasma Rifle (try firing in 2 shot bursts)WUERGER/66E Laser Shotgun (Mind Alpha just barely controls this weapon)When it comes to adding missiles to the mix, most missiles require less than a second of trigger discipline on the Ludlow when fired along side your arm weapons. However the longer your missiles firing cycle is the harder it is to control your recoil. The only two missile launchers I don’t recommend are the 10 cell missile launcher and the G2/P08DUO missile launcher. Do with this information as you will, personally I’m a fan of Ransetsu Ludlow.
>>22986821That's cool I suppose but honestly full-auto weapons like MGs are pretty mediocre in AC6. In a stagger heavy game like this weapons who's only purpose is to keep the meter from decaying aren't great, better to use shit that adds to the meter instead in my experience. Besides even as far as MGs go I'd rather use the ATTACHE for the range or ETSUJIN for the burstfire than grab a LUDLOW.
About to start Master of Arena. Does it support analog-sticks? No? Good.

>>22986802i get that they're powerful for plot reasons but i do wish there were more LC/HC tier enemies

Since Nightreign had stuff from many FS game it be funny for a AC secret bossIf an AC is too big it can be a MT
>>22986976IIRC your average AC is the size of the Fire Giant. Of courde it'd have to b a crippled AC that can't fly or boost around to be even remotely doable
>>22986976>>22986979They're barely just over Radahn sized, fire giant is huge compared to an AC.
Armored core should be used for sport, not war
>>22986994Formula Front?
>>22986994We tried that, see: >>22987001 it was SHIT.
>>22986988Then it's doable, at least scale-wise. Of course there's the problems of mobility an range. I don't see a tarnished catching up to an AC just walking without even boosting, and even the dhortest range weapons in the game outrange most bosses in ER
>>22987004the extended version and PS2 version were nice. Only the original version was bad, fuck you warmonger
Armored core but the team had no budget and were not very skilled
>>22986994War is cooler though
>>22987007it's gonna be pic related with damaged boosters
>>22987008All of it was bad. Shit even. Hot fucking garbage.>warmongerIf you don't like the mercenary aspect of AC, you don't like AC. These are literally fucking war machines, not race cars.

>>22987033I don't know, Tarnished are pretty tough and can survive a fucking demigod meteor from orbit
>>22987040Fair I suppose.
Where is Walter in the game? Is he with us inside the helicopter? I assume he is on Rubicon otherwise AC6 would have some pretty severe radio technology. He is later brought into reeducation by Snail but a different camp from ours. Where?
>>22987053He presumably has an office in our garage, during cutscenes where it shows you a door and we hear his conversations it's strongly hinting at that. The location of those cutscenes isn't random, it's 621 walking around.
>>22987053He's likely not always in the heli, but visits from time to time. Also, I don't think our garage is the same as the heli, it's too big. So maybe he's never in the heli and only in the garage
>>22987053I always thought that THIS was the helicopter. I thought the helicopter is like a miniature aircraft carrier for a small number of ACs.
>>22987058I am almost certain the garage is inside a Heli. I mean that's from where we sortie in many cutscenes plus it's cylindrical Maybe it's a bigger model than the ones shown.
>>22987073My guess is that the rotating section our AC slots into can be moved inside a heli
>>22987053he 100% is in the heli, remember that cutscene where we get interrupted by our heli and he is talking to us
>>22986138Demon's souls isn't that clunky, I played it for the first time after DaS3 and it was incredibly fun. The world is really cool
>>22986994War could've been sport if not for certain fiscally minded individuals.
>>22987074I always wondered how we get into our garage after Ocean Crossing. I think that was the givaway for the garage being mobile. On a related note: Since Crossing the ocean was such a kerfuffle, requiring an experimental leap of faith with the cargo launcher, how do we later switch between locales so quickly?Like, to protect the missiles for Carla at watchpoint Alpha we had to get back, right? And then we had to cross again to beat the Ice Worm.Does that mean we do these suicidal launches multiple times and that there is an implied counterpart on the other side?It was mentioned Balam crossed the same way as us after we beat the Sea Spider. But how did Arquebus get there? Is there actually an easy and safe way to cross the Ocean we use later? Then why did Carla make us take that Catapult? She knew we were with Walter, right? Did she fucking try to murder Walter's Hound? She knew people have died using it in such a way.
>"621, I'm going to the store. Do you want anything?">...Raven, ask him to pick up some Skit-->"And no more Skittles, things are rotting your teeth.">...Nevermind, Raven.
>>22987110If I'm not mistaken it's Ayre that pushed you to do this. Walter orders you to rest up and then Ayre suggests you do some digging on your own so you meet Carla and use the catapult and get to the ice fields faster than most. But then everyone catches up. I assume Walter eventually secures a corp-aligned method of transportation
>>22987117You are probably right. That could also be the business Walter had to attend to. BUT that would mean Ayre was hyper retarded to make us take that route. Since she's really good at gathering info I would have assumed she could have scouted out a safer method to cross or we could have just shat around until Walter got back.Ayre risked killing Raven multiple times just to spend some time with him and "enjoy the routine".So Ayre IS deceitful. I rest my case.
>>22987123nothing bad about wanting to be with your human husband
>>22987170I guess, but she could have been with him inside the garage. She made him sortie. Maybe to seperate him from his Handler. And this always bugged the shit out of me. How is there no child-safety-lock on the AC? I know Walter is kinda a good guy, but old-gen is known to be mentally unstable and they are bought, right? So they are not with Walter voluntarily. Imagine if 621 spazzed out and just went on a rampage or if he just decided to join the RLF.
>>22987176I wouldn't call Walter a good guy, sure he has human moments but ultimately he's kind of a scum who experiment on people too and sacrificed all morals for his goal.621 was nothing more than another test to be thrown away at first, Walter just ended up being attached to him.
>>22987179Walter didn't aug us, he bought us after the fact. We were backstock from his usual supplier. That said, you're correct we were just another number to him. That's evident by the fact he only addresses us as 621 and when asked about our predecessors just coldly states they did their jobs. He views it as a greater good and it might leave a bad taste in his mouth but the fact remains he would've been indifferent to our death.
>>22987179yeah, I get it. But that makes it even weirder he just let's the AC sit there for us to enter whenever. If I were a merc with a fried brain who was sold as a slave-soldier, I would hop into the AC first chance I got and blow up the garage (wherever it is) and my Handler with it. Then I'd ride into the sunset and become a Dozer.
>>22987187621 literally has a cerebral coral control device installed in his brain. If we did that shit Walter could fry us back into compliance.
>>22987185>>22987179The guy is trying to save humanity. What do you expect him to do? Treat 621 like his own child? He treats 621 with as much respect as he deserves, and his promises about 621 earning enough to undo his augmentations seem genuine, or at least they're something Walter himself believes
>>22987192>What do you expect him to do?No, I expect him to stop sending mercs to fight his battles for him. Allmind herself stated Walter is a very capable pilot in his own right and he apparently always had access to the HAL. He should be doing this shit himself.
>>22987195Walter and Carla are the brains of the operation and they need more manpower and more firepower than just the two of them.
>>22987195That's actually a good point.
>>22987196Then Walter should have taken the same route as Carla rather than forcing literal slaves to die for him.>>22987197Yeah it's a glaring flaw with siding with Walter. Dude is legitimately engaging in slave labor to save his own skin. At least Carla founded RaD as a side hustle and has legitimate comrades and employees she can call on for help, we have no choice in the matter at all until Walter is taken out of the picture.
>>22987198My guess is that Walter is terrified of dying since he's in his mind the last remnant of his group.Carla is probably lying and isn't the original Carla. Just someone who took back the name.
>Are you a dog? Or a raven? This is the ultimate question of the story. If you side with Walter, you're an obedient dog and content with being a faithful slave to the very end even if it results in genocide and your own death. If you side with Ayre, you're free. You become the symbol the raven was meant to be and are now the hero of Rubicon. I don't even know why anyone would pick siding with Walter given how obvious this is.
>>22987201>your own death621 survives in the fire of raven ending. it's why Waltuh tells us to be free and live our own life.
damn I wish this played in the walter boss fight even if his theme is already good https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-asdoJBSvxg
>>22987198Maybe Walter can't actually Pilot for most of the game? Perhaps he is only capable after being forcefully augmented in reeducation? I know he pilots the HAL in the ALLMIND-route but maybe he still got captured by Arquebus after we lose contact with him, was augmented but escaped most branwashing, fleeing in his AC due to ALLMIND'S coup d'etat. He then caught up with Carla, later. At least that could be why he isn't just doing it himself.
>>22987205That message could easily be played before we ultimately die. The ending directly states Raven is never seen again.
>>22987205that's really fucking unlikely. I mean, it's intentionally left open to interpretaion, but also you're on ground Zero of the explosion and you clearly don't outrun the blast wave. Even if you somehow did, where the fuck are you goign to go? Rubicon likely doesn't even have an atmosphere left since the fires literally burnt the entire star system. The only chance is that you somehow end up using the same method the original survivors did. Which I can only imagine would be hiding out in the underground city until the fires are over
>>22987208>I know he pilots the HAL in the ALLMIND-route but maybe he still got captured by Arquebus after we lose contact with himNo, he clearly didn't. You can overhear the coms and he doesn't sound like he does in the liberator ending at all. We went AWOL so he called Carla up with a code red and went and dug out the HAL because he figured it out himself.
>>22986994It doesn't fit Armored Core but I'd like a game where you're part of a military at war instead of a freelancer
>>22987208This is next level jumping through hoops. The most obvious explanation is he simply got in the HAL and took off to dodge and confront Allmind with Carla. He HAD to know the HAL existed, several of its parts are fucking named after him for crying out loud (WLT series). There's absolutely zero evidence to back up the fact that he was maybe brainwashed or augmented in the Allmind ending.
>>22987208the HAL units were meant to be unmanned, and he has insider Institute knowledge so maybe he can get it working on some level of autopilot or assisted piloting. Or maybe his piloting skills are average/sub-par but HAL is so OP it carries him. He wouldn't risk his life before he was sure there was no other choice though, he needs to ensure the plant succeeds at all costs
>>22987212>The ending directly states Raven is never seen againWell the obvious implication is that he got the surgery Walter was promising and retired/went into hiding.
>>22987246>>22987216I am arguing he was augmented but ALLMIND struck at just the right time for him to escape reeducation. Which is why his voice is normal in that route.I know this is far fetched and I doubt the developers thought of this. I just like to theorize and while there obviously isn't evidence for this there also is no contradiction other than the conditions being very specific. The caturing of Walter was obviously set up beforehand and carried out in sync with capturing 621 after Ibis, since Walter's mic cuts out right there. Maybe whoever was responsible for capturing Walter decided to go through with it after the Comms were cut by ALLMIND. I could kinda see the point of ALLMIND, who has essentially limitless intel, not letting the chance of Walter getting coocked going to waste, since she knows about him and his organisation for very long. But maybe she just had to strike because Arquebus was about to carry of the first batch of Coral.
I always thought that after Waltuh got that special Arquebus treatment, it was them who deployed him in an Arquebus altered/restored HAL as an experiment or something and the WLT naming was just there as a descriptor for the player.
>>22987265You don't need augments to pilot an AC and I don't know why you're harping on this. Something else for your consideration, the HAL was built before human augmentation even existed. It was literally designed with the idea that the pilot would be a normal human.>>22987268They did. The difference here between the two endings is that in Liberator Arquebus forces him to use the HAL against you while in the Coral Release ending he pilots it of his own volition to stop Allmind. There's zero reason to suspect the serial numbers for the parts aren't the true ones though, AC parts likely have their numbers inscribed on them somewhere or coded within them for when they're talking to other parts and/or need repairs.
>>22987280I am harping on this because it could be a reason Walter needs a hound and can't just get shit done by himself. The point is he could only pilot later after surgery.Another possible explanation is that Walter without surgery is actually ass as a pilot.Okay, so he wasn't captured by Arquebus, but we also never see him fight in that route. The only thing we have is ALLMIND's statement of him being "rather capable". The same AI that has trouble taking down five helicopters for her super important release project. She also uses the dark colored decoys who die in two hits. And Walter and Carla get rekt as soon as Iguazu shows up who appears unscathed. So Walter didn't manage to land a single hit on an actual pilot. ALLMIND's statement is therefore just her excuse for sucking against equally incompetent Walter.
Balteus is totally going to be in Nightreign
>>22987309You're just making shit up to defend your headcanon at this point man. The game blatantly shows us that Walter is a very capable pilot and had access to the HAL without Arquebus intervention. Also as I said, the HAL was built with a non-augmented pilot in mind.
>Game LITERALLY calls you a monster for siding with Walter and causing the Fires of Raven>Like it uses the ACTUAL WORDS "monster that burned the stars">Retards will still try and claim Walter's route is the morally correct one and he's actually a super cool and nice cinnamon roll that takes 621 for walks in the park on weekendsI'll never understand Walter simps.
>>22987333Sometimes people who do the right thing go unrecognized or are even painted as evil by history. Nobody other than Overseer and ALLMIND knew of the dangers Coral posed if exposed to vacuum, everyone just thought you were some terrorist who blew up a star system for the lulz.
>>22987333B-BUT HE STOOD UP FOR ME AGAINST SNAIL AND SAID I WAS GOOD AT EXPLORING!!!! I AM NOT A MONSTER YOU ARE THE MONSTER FUCK YOU!!!
>>22987339>All this cope to defend committing literal genocide of a sentient alien species and killing every innocent human caught in the crossfireYikes.
can we just agree Walter, Ayre and Allmind are asses and 621 should have just joined Carla gaining a harem of Coral waifus through dozing?
>>22987348There's quite literally nothing wrong with Ayre. There isn't a single thing she did wrong.
>>22987351I pointed out above how unnecessary the entire Grid infiltration in Walter's absence was, since there would have been easier ways to cross the ocean than the suicide catapult that no one ever survived. She tried to seperate you from your Handler.
>>22987355>She tried to seperate you from your Handler.Walter actually commends us for making our way there when he comes back you moron. She never once tried to "separate" us from him, she just wanted to get to the other Coral ASAP.
>>22985022Hell yeah
>>22987356Yeah getting to it ASAP, even if it risked death. Very noble Coral-girl does her best. Leave her alone, guys.
>>22987344liberator is only delaying the inevitable and probably an even bigger conflictthird ending is way too dangerous for humanity. The potential it has could very well lead to something extremely wrong.Fire ending at least finally resolve everything, there won't be any conflict here anymore.
>>22987355>the suicide catapult that no one ever survivedAyre didn't know it was a suicide catapult you fucking idiot.
>>22987364>Complete genocide of an entire sentient species and every human in the star system is okay because it means there won't be anymore conflict thereHoly shit you're stupid.
>>22987333No one is claiming that Walter is some cinnamon. Game gives you clear evidence that Coral is dangerous as fuck and it spreading across whole universe might not be the best idea, Dr. Nagai notes, O'Keefe dialogue, AllMind scheming, Sera scaring Dolmayan. The whole point is that the game puts you into moral dilemma between doing the bad thing to protect the status quo for humanity or doing risky thing to bring uncertain but possibly positive change and it's up to you to decide whatever choice is the lesser evil. It's literally FA endings all over again, I don't get why it's so hard to understand for some people.
>>22987369It's a fucking cargo launcher. That's it's designation. How would she not know this but know where it shoots and it's location. Very irresponsible parasite if you ask me.Also: Holy shit Ayre-simps are fucking emotional. Calm your tits. If she leaves just take some pops and sizzles and you have a new one.
>>22987377>Holy shit Ayre-simps are fucking emotionaI remember you from the /v/ threads... what is your major malfunction, buddy?
>>22987377Nta but wasn't the cargo catapult thing Carla's idea? I don't remember exactly.

>>22987362See >>22987369Cite one fucking ingame source that says Ayre knew nobody ever survived launching themselves with it. You can't.
>>22987377You're in a fucking AC. What possible reason did she suspect you wouldn't survive a cargo catapult? Note that 621 themselves never once says "hey maybe this is a bad idea" either. Besides this seems more Carla's fault than anyone's. First she tries to kill you several times for just passing through her turf, then she doesn't tell you it's a suicide catapult until you're already being loaded on the fucking thing. And yet you dumb Carla simps still pick her over Ayre, seems pretty stupid if you ask me.
>>22987312Only if it's Snailbalt and he's yelling at me the whole time.
>>22987386Best-case she doesn't know how it works, which is unlikely, since she is otherwise well-informed. You know her being a wave thingy that's good at gathering intel. Still irresponsible treatment. Don't get me wrong. I condemn Walter, too. He is a prick.I think the moral of the story is: Don't trust your boss OR the voices in your head.

>>22987390>621 themselves never once says "hey maybe this is a bad idea"To be fair 621 never says anything. Then again 621 is a type that would try to punch Ice Worm to death with bare hands, probably doesn't care either way if it's suicidal or not.
>>22987405They'll obviously shrink him.Balteus, at his core, is just a robot in a hoola hoop with a big backpack.

>>22987419why does the balteus look so cool bros?it's unfair that only Snail got to pilot it, they should've at least given us hidden AC parts based off of it's design
>>22986827if you dedicate yourself to the art of kiting then rifles and sustained damage weapons can pay off really well. You'll probably never stun your opponent, but as long as you stay just out of reach you can chip away at them and they will start to notice once their health drops down to halfway they realize it's to late and start panicking. Kinda funny to watch a guy lose his composer and start trying to melee without a stun and getting out of position
>>22987431It's the tasteful over-the-top aesthetic. It's excessive in a calculated way. Even if you strip away all the addons, the base frame is an excellent design. It's definitely in the running for best design of the series

I can't believe the joke thread is still around. STOP BUMPING THAT SHIT! We already know Walter's the uncontested king of hunks.
>>22987390Only ones worthy simping to are tester AC pilot and Rummy. Everyone else is TRASH.
>>22987431AC6 Armoury has Baltheus parts, amongst the others.
>>22987494do they look good? Isn't that the mod that adds insane part bloat with 10 versions of each part each 1% different from the others?
>>22987501>do they look good? They're alright, don't expect custom decals to work though.>insane part bloat with 10 versions of each part each 1% different from the othersYou can filter variants. I learned that too late.
So, the chances of a DLC are now pretty low, but do you think From will go from 6th gen straight to AC7? I figured From wouldn't backpedal on game design choices, like the free-aim/target assist, no strafe, no turn-speed, and stagger, but now would be a good time if any. But it does make me kinda sad AC6 is the only one in the series that might possibly be the only game without a followup.
>Get idea after fighting a guy in PvP that keeps assault boosting and trying to double melee me>Make bright yellow AC>Name it "BACK OFF">Put caution triangle on the left arm>Put pile bunker on said left arm>Long range weapons otherwise like laser rifle>People do not, as the name demands, back off>They get bunked
>>22987527AC6.5 could be a "fixed" game like VD mind youalso if it's miyazaki it wouldn't be the first time AC changed directors and/or producers mid-generation like with 3rd gen and late 3rd genthe real loss from 6 being a single game generation would be all the rather solid mecha designs in it. it's got a unique place there as a combination of every gen's aesthetic so it could be perfect after a game or two's worth of more parts in that vein
>>22987527The release window for a DLC is slimming. No way people will buy an expansion for an Armored Core game 2-3 years after the base game, not in this day and age. From is probably planning for AC7 with better graphics and shit at this point.
>>22987482>tester AC pilot>worth simping forWhy? He was a whiny bitch.

>>22987195I figure the HAL was in some hangar in Institute City for the last 50 years. We only ever see Walter using it after Chapter 4 in the routes it does appear. In Liberator, Arquebus finds it and decide to stick brainwashed Walter in it since he still has the muscle memory to pilot it. Snail probably would've claimed it for himself at some point, but he was busy with Balteus and died before he could get that far. In the ALLMIND route, I figure after 621 goes AWOL, Carla and Chatty manage to take out CEL 240 in his stead (it is pretty vulnerable to missile spam), granting Walter access to HAL. Does still beg the question of why he can't procure another spare AC for his own use until then.

>>22987819Hey what is that ? How can you play MTs? I wanna play MTs

>>22987808>He's a lost gundam protagonistNo he isn't. He's a little bitch greenhorn who bit off way more than he could chew.
>>22987819In lore, who would even pilot MTs anyway ? They pretty much are walking coffin. At least the two light ones by BAWS offers some use against infantries or for recon, or swarm attacks. The worst contender still is the heavy one. It’s basically a mass produced worst AC, which can’t do the mission of a regular MT or an AC. All it can do it potentially slightly slowing down an enemy AC. Who would pilot this ? Unless they just get guys in prisons and tell them «pilot this and we clean your sentence»
>>22987985>They pretty much are walking coffin. You don't know the half of it. In the old PS2 days of AC when all we had were message boards the entire community joked that MT stood for "moving targets". Lorewise something to consider is that ACs are insanely expensive to field, regardless of if it's a merc or an in-house one. Most battles are fought with MTs as a result and our perception is skewed as an AC pilot. In older games and even in AC6 missions like the early ones you can hear the MT pilots panic because an AC showed up and they clearly didn't expect it. If you pissed someone off enough to shell out for an AC, you ROYALLY pissed them off. It's the nuclear option.
>>22987527I don't thing I've ever been more disappointed than AC6 getting no announcement at the TGAs while Elden Slop gets a hyped up asset flip.
>>22988059If that thing actually sells, and it will, I think soulsdrones can safely be labelled as total cattle.
>>22987985I don't know about the pricing but I think you can afford an entire squadron of MTs for the price of a single AC. So I assume most battles were MT vs MT and the only time we, or any AC, is called upon is when there is a specific and very important task that needs specific tools. Notice we barely take part in territorial gains and when we do it's usually a special type of operation. I think most of the wars in these games are not shown and to be honest most of us have died to a barrage of MTs before, proving they are not completely hopeless. And in older games even if you succeed, the maintanance cost of an AC is so huge lots of Raven go into debt. So in the long run the MT approach is more cost efficient.
>>22987985In oast gens, corpd owned entire cities and everyone whl lived in them. Given the scale of gen 6's setting, they likely own planets. So if you were born on planet Arquebus, your parents work at the Arquebus factory, you went to Arquebus school and get paid in Arquebucks, when the company says "you've been assigned to the MT pilot program" you don't conplain. Hell, it might even pay good enough to send some money back to ma and pa to get them out of the Arquebus Ghetto and into a nicer part of town
>>22987985Belius Applied Weapons Systems' Heavy Tetrapod Muscle Tracers seem like the big dog on the block when there's no ACs around though. Personally, I think they're neat.
>>22988118I'd rather it sells well so that From may get some breathing room and creative freedom to actually get to make more mecha games, regardless of whether or not the Armored Core franchise continues.

Back then I had some hope because the community pushed back against it. But slowly but surely it moved from wanting an experimental fantasy rpg with rewarding combat to wanting a generic hach'n slash with tight controls and slight rpg sprinkled on top. Yes, BB, DS3 and forward were good at what they wanted to do, but conceptually the games were more and more the same. With ER they even started doing the ubiquitous map, teleportation, questmarker shit. When you look back at old videos from the community, DaS and DeS were praised for avoiding these designs. Now you get called a faggot for saying respeccing and fast traveling takes the immersion away.I just hope AC never becomes popular enough to attract this locust-swarm of people who support more and more homogenization; that it remains complementary to other games instead of copy pasting what works in Souls.tl;dr pseudo-intellectual bullshit. Honestly I'm okay with no DLC for AC6 if it means AC7 is up after Nightreign. All AC6 was really missing for me was some form of co-op PvE and more parts and I probably wasn't going to get the former on that anyway. Plus I like my AC as is so I'm content to call it done. >>22989609What about my pile bunker ?
>>22989613Eh I'm of the mind that Nightreign was just a really easily slapped together experiment due to all the recycled assets. We already know Miyazaki isn't touching it, meaning he's probably working on AC7 since he voiced interest in directing a new AC game after 6 dropped. This was just an easy snack to hold people over. If it takes off? Could mean cool things in the future, but if it doesn't? I sincerely doubt they'll lose money on it. They clearly aren't spending much to produce it.
>>22989615That's for phase 2 when once he's spent, it's your turn to be the top.
>>22989613>FromSoft is trying to improve multiplayer componentsIt doesn't have pvp and its only 3 players or solo, no duos.I can't believe this is the same company that came up with conquest a decade ago.
>>22989618Yeah I'm floored FROM hasn't improved their multiplayer framework/stability when it's a pretty big chunk of every single one of their games since the PS3 save for Sekiro. I wonder why they don't bother, surely they can afford it. It can't be "you'll buy it anyway" mentality either because they don't exactly have Pokemon tier notoriety.
>>22989591AC7 mean new gen that play differently than AC6I still want more AC6 gameplay before moving on
>>22989621I suspect they have gotten complacent over the years with Souls games being what it is with its multiplayer framework and they accepted how things are. Only that they wanted to make something different again finally they had to re-learn things. As a result, they're back in this growing pain of trying to get that lost knowledge of multiplayer development as evident with AC6 PvP barrenness.
>>22989656I would like more from AC6 don't get me wrong, it's just a sequence of events I'm okay with provided AC7 is as big as I'm hoping.

>>22989712>>22989754I'm meh on overed weapons, but I do want gen 5 style weapon arms back. The HEAT Cannon arms in VD looked so god damn cool and were so fun to use, as soon as I got them I beat the entire game with them. Honestly wish I could replay VD to reminisce but I don't have anything capable of emulating it at the moment and even if I did I'd want to play ACV first and ACV was SHIT.
>>22989731the rick dom ii?
>>22989731>APPETIZER head>MELANDER core>heavyweight bipedHello stagger bait, looks cool tho.
>>22989656>>22989723I mean you can argue gens 1, 2, AND 3 play exactly the same. That said they seem to have moved beyond that style for AC. That said however, I'd expect gen 7 to play much like gen 6. Even if Miyazaki is directing, I don't see him changing the formula too much on the combat, if at all. Keep in mind Souls games have been playing the same since the fucking beginning with only Bloodborne and Sekiro getting a little wacky here and there, modern FROM seems to largely have a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it, just make it look and feel nicer" mentality when it comes to new entries. AC6 was a hit, so AC7 might change a small bit here and there but I largely believe it'll be very similar to AC6 combat-wise but with a bit more smoothness.
When it comes to AC7 I'd just like the story to start out a bit more casual. No, I don't mean difficulty, I mean narratively. It's heavy straight out of the fucking gate and only gets heavier as the plot goes. This works well enough and I loved AC6 don't get me wrong, but something I missed from earlier entries was the "average every day merc" work vibe the first part of the games always had as it slowly ramped up to something more serious. Gens 1-3 had this in every game except Project Phantasma, Formula Front, Ninebreaker, and Last Raven (PP is just kind of a mess, NB and FF aren't typical AC games, and LR is one of the worst offenders here what with the entire game transpiring over 24 hours). Gen 4 also had this a bit at the start but it vanishes pretty quick as the campaigns are short. Gen 5? Well AC5 just has a nonsensical bad plot in general, but VD is like the PERFECT example of what I'm talking about. That fucking opening cutscene in the first mission where we're flying in? Fatman telling Maggie he wants to quit but is saving it for a nice day? Dirty Worker blasting in the background? That shit got me hyped it was so comfy. There's even another mission in VD that comes to mind, when Maggie straight holds our client by the balls for more money or else we are leaving. I want more shit like that. I want the heavy plot too of course, as lack of that at all ends up with literal trash like Another Age, but lemme do some comfy merc shit first.
>>22989782gen 2 has overboost bro
>>22989828Adding a new feature doesn't completely change how the gen plays bro. If you're gonna split hairs like that then gen 2 and 3 don't play the same either because gen 2 has limiter release and gen 3 doesn't. Also gen 3 has EO and gen 2 doesn't. See how retarded that sounds? They still control exactly the same and have the same core gameplay, skill in gen 1/2/3 will translate almost entirely to any other of those 3 gens. >>22989908>>22989916Honestly I'll never understand being against piracy for old out of print games anyway. If say for example FROM dropped a legacy AC collection for $60 on Steam and the Sony store or even just released individual games for $5-$20 a pop, I could see them argument, but they aren't. If I go to ebay and buy a copy of Silent Line that money sure as fuck isn't going to FROM, it's going to some dick head scalper. Why do you give a fuck if I pirate it at that point? Why does ANYONE give a fuck if I pirate it at that point? Nintendo for example is HUGELY against piracy even for ancient games they themselves refuse to put in their fucking store. If I wanna play some old Pokémon game they want me to pay some random asshole in China $200 for a fake copy instead of selling me it themselves, it's insanity.
After almost a year of playing a rushdown build I finally decided to throw together my attempt at the cheesiest, most salty lamspiderrat build just to see how it plays. Double pulse rifles, double coral missile launchers. LAMERGAYER core and legs with EPHEMERA arms. Holy fuck, I finally understand the appeal. Kind of. Everyone is moving in slow motion while wildly flailing to catch up with me. I don't think I'm even doing it right because I play on PC and only have one finger to gently tilt right while I'm charging everything, and they still can't kill me in time.
>>22989948Congratulations on coming out of the closet man.
>>22989948I actually love the EPHEMERA arms on a ton of builds, I feel like they get slept on. Sky fucking high defenses and astounding AP at absurdly low weight. They get overshadowed by the BASHO a lot as the BASHO are the king of weight:AP ratio, but the BASHO have DOG SHIT defenses and the EPHEMERA actually have average firing stats while the BASHO don't. IMO BASHO are only best-in-class if your build is REALLY strapped for EN and weight to an absurd margin or you're doing double melee shenanigans. For most other shit? EPHEMERA all day baby. Unless you have specific recoil needs, anyway, then you'll probably end up with MIND ALPHA.
>>22989953Thanks, feels okay to be gay. Also got immediately rushdowned by a twink with the Redshift sword so probably not going to stick to this gimmick.>>22989986Totally agreed. I feel the only reason they're underrated is because PvP and to an extent the main game encourages specialisation to overwhelm opponents with a single busted gimmick instead of all rounder advantages. So in most players' mind the shotgunner or rat can just plink away at you any way of your build isn't designed to counter that. I actually used to use EPHEMERA all the time when I was starting PvP at the lower ranks, but it fell off over time as I got more into rushdown builds. I don't use BASHO for my preferred one though even though I really like the Redshift sword, I also like the WLT 011 Coral Rifle even though it's heavy as fuck and making that thing work requires firearm spec.
>>22989908>>22989916Lmao. Guess japs are the closest to average AC corpo slaves, only they don't understand that it's not meant to be a good thing.
>>22990129They love rules. Or more precisely, they LOVE keeping up appearances. You see this a lot with games. If a game forbids modding or something, Japs will vehemently deny they ever as much as looked in a mod's direction, publicly profess to block anyone who mods, all while doing the same shit in private.
>>22990163>they LOVE keeping up appearancesi was working as an IT admin, one of our client used a jap software, we had to deal with them whenever there was an issue with it, they put more effort into keeping face than actually fixing things because "someone had to take responsibility", once they made a huge fuckup with an update and we waited a few month to have it even acknowledged because they had to hire an intern and pin it onto himapparently tokyo want to force a 4 day workweek citywide and they have to pretend it's for the birthrate when microsoft japan published the actual survey for it more than a decade agoi had a glimpse through work of how it's like to live in japan, it's fucking grim
>>22989802Very based, anon. I found myself nodding while reading this, which rarely happens.I haven't played Verdict Day yet, but I am now looking forward to it.
>>22990278Verdict Day is kino. Sometimes some missions can be a drag, and there's like 80 of them, but it's a good time. I want to find my old 360's power cord and so I can boot it up and play it again
>>22989660More like they don't care because it works just fine for Japs.
https://www.forbes.com/sites/olliebarder/2024/12/15/peter-watts-discusses-original-armored-core-story-for-secret-level/>It’s clear he’s not really a mecha gamer or even interested in mecha, and that’s entirely fine. He clearly tried to do right by the source material and I respect that. While he may not dig modern mecha combat, that wasn’t his remit, and the team at Blur managed that well, I thought.
>>22990540>It’s also fun to see that Watts has been reading Reddit, specifically the Armored Core subredditoh dear god no

>>22990547>oh dear god nois it that bad? considering this general is among the most bearable on this god forsaken website i would have expected a similar tendency on other platforms
>>22990574It's reddit, it's bad by default.
>>22990574Reddit is the polar opposite of 4chan. Here moderation is so lax that sometimed you have problems with spammers or trolls shitting up discussion. On reddit, moderation is so strict that anyone even remotely straying from the general consensus gets banned and their posts deleted
>>22990577Don't use Reddit, but what you said about here at least is only partially true, there are places on the site with a pocket janny/mod that are absolutely unusable because he will delete things he doesn't like.
