Good episode, lots of stakes and I liked showing the transformation from behind when Arc when off to fight Guilebaku.
The only real downside for me is that Guilebaku is pretty silly looking, and I’m going to be disappointed if it’s our final boss Kaiju. Both Trigelos and Zadime had way stronger designs. Especially since it looks like the Guilebaku suit actor won’t be able to throw a punch or do much physical combat, and it’s just gonna be a CGI-fest.

Show and early Heisei Ultra did a lot of wacky, ridiculous, or just plain silly stuff as well as a bunch of marketing for the transformation ships and such in much the same way New Gen does now. On top of that, they were made during a time where we could get 50 episode series, which means concepts that the New Gen relies more heavily on the toyetic stuff to sell to people could be more reliably developed over a longer period. A lot of the flaws with Decker, Blazar, Z and even Arc would likely be solved by them having 50 episodes to tell everything they want to, for example.

I feel putting it this low is somewhat mean since it wasn't doing much wrong, but it's the only entry I can say was to e deaf. It wanted to be cheery but after the first clipshow it went very melancholy and had a sorrowful tone, the team up episode was jarring, and that situation with the super nova energy going to Earth went unsolved. Also Arctic beat his final boss pretty easily. At least Ultra Q a d Dark Fantasy were anthologies and the Fights and Nice were short. I'm giving the franchise a rest after I watch the epilogue.
