If you want to make friends, sometimes you need to respect boundaries and leave something alone. Again, similar character analysis going on here. We're seeing the thread woven in party of one (pinkie has a need to feel useful by serving other and being their friend) get tested and shown as being unhelpful and counterintuitive to her goal.
