>>41223837Not fully planned yet, but the "where" is down to 2 spots - both of which we would be walking to. Either take a stroll to hang out at a nearby public park (but it closes at 9pm), or just take a walk out to the central lake in the roundabout that puts us off hotel property. I was under the impression this would be an event that happens during the con hours, so it would be an hour and a half or so ideally between panels, or maybe sometime during the concert where the set is a little slower? This kinda thing is much more play by ear than the other events being planned. At this point, literally anyone can suggest what they want and we can all figure it out.

>>41224302You could enter the convention at given time after paying the admission fee but before the closing ceremony.
>>41223842Thinking panel
>>41223842I had a dream a few nights back that there was an anon murder mystery event/panel at mare fair, where one anon was designated as the victim, and all the other anons had to figure out which anon was the killer in the three days of mare fair, ala Phoenix Wright style. Every anon looked identical though so we all kept getting our evidence mixed up about who was where and did what. Something like that would be cool to see although I have no idea how someone could pull it off

Repostin this to gauge interest.Hey YOU!Do you wanna be AWESOME?For just a handful of bits the iFly wind tunnel west of the convention can give YOU the opportunity to experience free-fall one minute at a time.>One minute? Two actually, or the equivalent of falling almost eleven thousand feet at terminal velocity, twice. All without the inconvenience of the sudden stop at the bottom!>Can I do more?I wouldn't recommend it, Keeping yourself stable in the wind tunnel requires balls of steel and the abs of a greek god. Push it too much and you won't be walking tomorrow.>What's it like?Loud, and a bit nerve-racking at first, There's an instructor in the tunnel with you at all times.>But I've been skydiving before! This will be a breeze!Oh man you're gonna have a fun time here. Unlike skydiving where you can just fall, you need to maintain a specific body position to control your altitude in the tunnel. Because of that, this is a lot more physical then a jump. For those anons interested you MUST:> Be over three (3) years old> Wear closed-toed lace up shoes> Be in decent health and physical condition> Weigh less than 260 lbs, OR weigh less than 300 lbs and be approved by the wind tunnel staff. Persons over 300 lbs may not fly. Persons over 260lbs are ineligible for the "High flight" where the instructor flings you to the top of the wind tunnel. As it stands, if we book during off peak hours (11-4:30, M-F) the going rate is $76 / person. However, if I can get 6 or more anons in a group we can apply for the group rate of $85/person that's good any time they're open during the weekend, and includes the pictures/video that you would typically be charged extra for. Also, some anons made this to help kind of plan when the extracurriculars will happen: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17CUfrC9hP_MndY1H3-cAR9gQ6VjW9lY0ksFIytSNkTk
>>41224472>> Be over three (3) years oldFuck.

>>41224652last thread said like 60 people going so farits probably going to be the best in person showing of the movie ever, going to make it a date with my lifesize
>>41224652Yes! We'll be having a private screening of the MLP Movie! There's a theater nearby that I've been in contact with. So far we have 69 (!!!) people interested. I've got it scheduled on Thursday at 10:30 PM.In case you weren't there at the the end of the last thread, I managed to restore the original opening to the film and that's the version we'll be seeing! Here's the signup form:https://forms.gle/UXsRxkGNtYbyyPdR8
>>41224710Also, Thursday is definitely set now. I think the people have spoken.
>>41224302We'll be selling tickets day of. But if you don't wanna pay more I'd get it before the con starts
any updates about nasa?
>>41224436>vrniggerSounds beyond retarded, just hold it in real life
>>41224756I agree with that. I think a lot of the appeal in that sort of thing, for me at least, would be searching around for evidence (maybe planted, maybe forged) to make a case for the defense or prosecution of the proposed killer. Also I think it would be interesting to see what kind of ass-pull crack-pot theory would get used to stall for time if that evidence gets discarded. It would definitely take some serious improv skills though, regardless
>>41224815Actually, thinking about it a little more, you would just need a few people. 3 for the two lawyers and a judge, and then 2 more for the defendant (on trial for the heinous crime of killing a mares snowpity) and the actual culprit (or maybe there never was a real culprit). The people attending the panel could be the jury, voting on whether they think the defendant actually did it based on the evidence. There could also be crime scene that the attendees could search, with both real and useless evidence planted by the organizers of the panel. They could then turn that evidence in to whichever side they want to win more, to help them build their case. It goes without saying, but one could also turn in purposefully misleading evidence in order to hurt their case, or to frame another.

>>41225451That's his eager face
>>41225451>is that the screening?Yes>how many seats are left available?Theater auditoriums range in size, so I'll need to give the final headcount to the theater to see what they can set us up with. We already blew past their smallest one that can hold 45 people. Their largest ones can seat hundreds. I think we'll peak at 100 viewers, but then again, my original estimate of 30 was way off.Anyway, I'll close signups two weeks before the con, because that's when I need to pay the theater. So don't worry about it until then!

>>41226167If you don't have a badge name, you can give whatever name you want. Just generally everyone likes to go by their alias if they can - so its preferred. All I need is a name associated with an email address so attendance can be kept track of.

Oh hey new thread, time for some updates and to post important information again.Okay KSC/Nasapone folks, KSC Group Sales got back to me and the Group Discount is a whole.... $2.00... So the current price in the sign up form would be the actual price basically. In regards to van hire I did look into the Hertz and they do have a 12-seater I know some local anons are attending too and have their own vehicles, which makes things a lot easier So the plan is to have several vehicles in a convoy. With anons chipping in for hire/gas/tipping the respective drivers. If I have done my math right it would be about $20pp for a return trip to KSC.Now the Space Center opens at 9am so it would need to be around an 8:00am or 8:30am departure on the 26th if we want to make the most of our time out there. SIGN UP FORM HERE: KSC/Nasapone Sign Up Form: forms (dot) gle/D9PTktzrLiK4SNvF9 Please do not sign up more than once as it is going to confuse the final number I need to give group sales. I will leave sign ups open for about another two or three weeks before sending emails to confirm sign ups and sending the final invoice.
>>41226913>two dollarsThat's not even tax. What group size do they expect to give more of a discount?
How good at drawing ponies can I get if I draw for 1-2 hours everyday up until the con? I just want serviceable art to put into people's sketchbooks.

>>41226972Doesn't the hotel have a shuttle to/from the airport? It's literally just on the other side of the freeway.Granted, that may not apply for folks who are not staying at the venue itself, so a van would be useful for them.

Hey anons, this will be my first time in America, just a couple questions. Will I be able to walk to get all basic amenities or should I budget for ubers? I've heard it is unwalkable. Also, are there many black people near the convention? We don't have many in my country and I'd like to avoid them if possible. Thanks!
>>41226999There’s some ziggers last year but they were chill. Also America not being walkable is a meme, there was the worlds biggest McDonald’s across the street last time and a wawa on the other side of the hotel, so you’re fine for nutrition. Everywhere else is walkable if you aren’t a bitch about it
>>41226947/bale/ is your friend, use it to learn what you can
>>41226972So far I do have a couple of drivers interested if I do need to get two vans. Though with the current convoy we are good for now. Also that van for KSC will be used purely for the Nasapone trip due to journey times and the itinerary. >>41228948That's actually really good.>"mission title"That's a difficult one. NASA used individual mission names for the Mercury series, then serialized it under the various programs using Greco-roman deities, APOLLO-9 , GEMINI-4, Once the shuttle happened everything became STS-#.Is there any lore for a pantheon in MLP? It'd seem kind of generic and cliche to name everything after Luna.

Maybe it could look better in a proper design.

Ok I know game nights have already been discussed, but, BUT:::::what about TrotMania?Imagine it. DDR with a bunch of brony nerds who can't dance competing wirh one another, all horribly flopping at songs written for 6-y/o's. It would be glorious.Only problem is I don't have the means to set up/host this sort of thing. Is anyone here into the idea and has some ideas? As an aside FNF gamers officially have my respect, I tried playing some TrotMania songs on keyboard for practice and I am being absolutely throttled by any difficulty 10+, I do not have the fucking finger coordination for playing like this and I don't know how people do it lmfao.I feel like it would be more natural on an actual dance pad (since the inputs are made for moving around a cross, rather than having your keyboard inputs in a line like on the display), but knowing me I would probably figure out how to be garbage in a completely different way :) Man I should visit my arcade...

Would both the cigar hangout and the fancy dinner be best scheduled for later Sunday? It makes the most sense to me seeing as both are good events to wrap up the official con days with, and Sunday will be an easier/less busy day so most people will have the free time to attend and enjoy without having to worry about panels or needing to stay until monday (cost them more money for hotel stay). Someone also mentioned that the cigar meet could be between the end of NASA trip and the movie screening, but that's looking to be a short window (about 2 hours), and there is the possibility of a little bit of a linecon to get through.
>>41230788The issue is there are a lot of folks leaving that Sunday night
>>41230788I'll be leaving monday morning, so Sunday fancy dinner would be best for me personally. It would also be fitting to be held on the last day of the convention, a way for those attending to say goodbye until the next year.
Pending the official schedule, I think Sunday evening is what's looking best for now.Tendie dinner was Friday last year, and Saturday evening would probably interfere with panels or other con activities.I would guess the dinner would take about 2-3 hours depending on traffic, and be something to cap the entire con off for this year. For the place, I'm leaning towards Sear + Sea, which is a Steakhouse, and has pretty decent reviews (and Mac and Cheese)It's a bit far away though (~20 mi, 30-50min drive)https://guide.michelin.com/en/florida/orlando/restaurant/sear-seahttps://ipoolside-media.s3.amazonaws.com/site/jwbonnetcreek/images/attachment/2024_Sear__Sea_Dinner_Menu.pdfhttps://ipoolside-media.s3.amazonaws.com/site/jwbonnetcreek/images/attachment/2024_Sear__Sea_Dessert_Menu.pdfThere was an anon suggesting a Brazilian Steakhouse near the old venue. I'm going to guess it's this onehttps://fogodechao.com/location/orlando/#menusIt's looks decent, but not quite "Fancy"For dress code: Business Casual or Smart Casual seem to be what the different places specify, so something like the Fancy Dinner at HarmonyCon will do fine, pic related
>>41229527We have an amazing amount of sponsor support Currently about 61% of all badges sold are sponsor badges Once sponsor badge sales end after tomorrow the ratio will probably start to change (as it did last year)
>>41231332Dude on the far left is power stanced up and built like a bouncer
>>41231412If I remember correctly from the last year, someone has mentioned that most of the con ticket sales happen like 8~4 weeks before the con happens.Whomever you ordering all the sponsors merch is going to be really happy.
>>41231552Yes, but that was just in general. Did that happen with Mare Fair last year?
>>41229539>its just sfx of big mac breathing and snorting really loudly
>>41231332Actually the one I recommended was Chima, looks a bit more "polished" than Fogo De Chao. That being said, you are correct it isn't "FANCY-Fancy", but I was making that suggestion based on making it more "affordable-fancy" for more people, but I would still absolutely be down for Sear + Sea if you are keeping it properly fancy.
>>41231636>>41231332>Fogo De ChaoSo this is basically a meat buffet. Expect all you can eat with fancy cuts of beef and lamb, $67 a head. They do standard tabeside service with a menu, but the churriscaria all-you-can-eat fillet / sirloin / barbecue / sausage / chicken is kind of their thing.
>>41231570It did. Don’t have time to look through the archives right now, but if I remember correctly there was a graph showing ticket sales shooting up exponentially in September.
>>41231681Been to a place like this before it was tidy dress and you wouldn't be out of place wearing a suit
My cash situation and time off is very floaty right nowIf I do a panel, but find out i cant attend mare, would that be an issue?
Wierdly specific and silly questionI have a bunch of 40k minatures I dont want.If I brought them to Mare, would anyone be willing to take them off my hands for donations/free?
>>41231811What factions? I'd for sure be interested
>>41231815Space marine mostly, 7th edition and before
>>41231811>freehell yeah brother
>>41231831well prefferably id prefer something in return, but I have a certain disvalue on them versus the space they take up
>>41231840Only taking the piss, I'll buy you a couple of pints if I don't have anything on me you want.
Sojuanon! I have made a breakthrough in finding some Blantons whiskey! Although it pains me to not drink it immediately, I will wait for when we meet up to share it with you
Can someone find me a bottle of Vat 69 if possible?
>>41231332Gee Bill, how come you get TWO airplane Alans
>>41229527just bought my mare supporter badge, can't wait
>>41231801would probably need to email them on that
I just had a dream where I was riding on a boat with a bunch of strangers from mare fair. But it was a speed boat and we were riding through flooded streets. It was kind of awkward but cool at the same time.
>>41229527Enjoyer here, debated if blowing $130 was worth the non-physical bonuses I likely won't really use beyond hopefully snagging the Flyer/Mimosa plushies, but I decided to go for broke because what the hell.>>41231811I'd be down to take a few home for a few bucks, I've always wanted to try painting WH40K minis even though I don't play the tabletop game.
>>41232287!!! so realistic!
>>41232287Peak mare, excellent workThose hooves almost make me think this is 3D. How’d you pull it off?
>>41232379i could tell its just lucksometimes, a small detail comes out soo good i question myself how did it happen too
>>41232287haha YES!
>>41223801>get fired from job>immediately sit down on the curb outside and spend 500$ on a ticket to MarefairI don’t care that I can’t afford a room right now, Nasapone isn’t missing this trip. See you glorious bastards there.
>>41232488not even other hotels right nextdoor that have rooms for less than the mariott?
>>41223801Will there be any Wild Manes panels?
>>41232531Yeah actually we just dropped all the current panels and rebranded to Mane FairNo refunds btw
>>41232533sounds cool, can't wait for all the pornget to work patreoniggers
>>41231552If that trend holds true this time around, its not unlikely we could see Mare Fair have over 50% increased attendance versus the first year (which would be incredible numbers considering how far out from the shows final run we are now). As it stands, it was mentioned that just based on current badge sales and hotel bookings would be over 700 people if the con was held tomorrow (MF2023 was 525). I hope that they will be able to be prepared for that eventuality if it comes to pass.I don't know why, but I am oddly invested and excited in seeing this con succeed as hard as it has for someone that isn't doing any panels or volunteering or anything.

>>41232674It's BECAUSE you haven't been involved that you want it to succeed, so you can bask in the fruits of other people's labor.
Should I get a rental car if I'm planning on staying long term? I feel like I should make a trip to get some groceries just to have something in the mini fridge.
>>41233133Why you such a bummer, dude?
>>41233135>mini fridgeanon...
>>41233191I mean I called them and they said they do have them in the rooms. That and I kinda want to save money on food to budget up ahead.
>>41230073Bumpann to see if anybody's into the concept?
>>41230073That would be fucking sweet.
Why cant I register the 26th?My plan is to drive down thursday and leave monday morning by 10am
>>41233258if I remember correctly, there where plans to have a game room set for MF2, like how Mare Gallery was, no idea what games they will have (or how many computers/consoles they will set up). Hopefully the Anons working on that project will see your post, because competitive TrotMania sounds pretty fun.
>>41233421we need time to install all the hidden cameras and listening devices.
>>41233463Well how do I get there?Am I SOL and just going to have to miss out?
>>41233421I didn’t even bother trying to book at Marriott. There are plenty of other hotels within walking distance
>>41233421I'm next door in the Mare-aton and will have a room from the 25th to the 1st. If you need to crash on the couch for one night (Its a suite, I have a couch) I can accommodate.
>>41233135I was gonna drive down, but I was gonna bring some stand-by food to keep in the hotel, probably not worth a whole ass rental. hell you could probably deliver the groceries anyway
>>41232103Aww shit Anon I'll be looking forward to trying some with ya. Still deciding how much Soju to bring, I think the best scenario is to bring 2 different variety boxes for a larger spread of flavors. I'll see what I can get my hands on.
>>41233634which hotel should i try for nearby?
>>41233858just search for the one with the best priced room. There are 3 or 4 other hotels in the same roundabout as the Marriott, with more just outside the roundabout (at most 10 minute walk) so you have a pretty good selection.I would imagine if the Mariott rooms are truly all booked up for Thursday-Monday, we will be hearing about it soon enough.
>>41233858Idunnolol try one. see pic.>>41233868That was the case last thread>>41203932
>>41223801didnt have the money to get the sponsor badge I wanted :(
>>41223801So is crotch grabbing gonna be socially acceptable at Marefair? Obviously not reaching into my pants or anything but this time when I see a cute mare at the con im gonna grab my crotch and say “muh dick”
>>41234145what
>>41234145post hand
>>41234145You better have a jewel encrusted glove
>>41234371This is the hand I do most of my crotch grabbing with, I’m gonna need the other to point at the mare with
>>41226019Small Update for the Gun-Range trip.Attendance currently at 22, with 18 thus far requiring transport. I think it makes sense to limit attendance to 28 total, as this would work out to an even 2 full transit van rentals for transport, as well as allowing the whole group to be on the rifle range at the same time, so that makes room for 6 more people. I am currently awaiting response from the range for setting up the event and any pricing info (I will be e-mailing this info to all attendees), and if we are splitting the transport costs evenly between everyone riding, it looks to be about $18-$20 per person. Also for the other events:>Indoor Skydiving >>41224472 (if happening)>Cigar Hangout (day and time still in the air)>Fancy Dinner >>41231332 (Sunday night slated but no official time decided yet)>Arcade Monster Trip (if happening)The Gun range Trip, NASA trip and Movie Screening are all pretty much decided on their timeslots, so they would need to be decided around those.
>>41233452I had only heard of individual room parties being discussed, but this would be perfect. I really hope so desu
>>41234463For the cigar trip I was thinking either after KSC or maybe Sunday afternoon after con wraps up. It just depends on the amount of people that need to leave on Sunday
>>41234550also really depends when you are arriving back from the NASA trip. Currently (and last I read) it was assumed to be around 8pm you'd be getting back. Then you have pre-reg as well. Should we slate it between the NASA trip and the movie for now?
>>41234659Sounds like a plan to me.
>>41234659How late does pre reg go on Thursday anyway?
>>41234798Not entirely sure how late, but it will certainly go on into the evening. That would be a question for actual con rep.
>>41234840Last year I picked my tickets up around 9:00pm
>>41232674I'm thinking our attendance will be realistically around 850 at the high end>>41233452There will be a game room >>41233491There are a lot of nearby hotels you could try Thursday night appears booked, you can always keep checking, people cancel their reservations >>41234798Schedule isn't finalized yet but I doubt it'll go much past 10pm, we might shut it down earlier thoI'm thinking we should be able to get it open pretty early afternoon
im getting a plane from georgia to flo rida. I wanted to tag along with these guys passing through georgia last time but my mom thought i was gonna get human trafficked so I couldn't. Last time I bought my plane ticket on the day of my departure, making it $500. tl;drsurely getting a round trip flight a month in advance will be much cheaper but by how much?
Are there going to be any sex or fetish parties?Like daki holding, gay orgy, colt crinklers?
>>41235031>"There will be a game room">No elaboration on what will be thereDarn u keeping me in suspense aaaaaaaa>XOWOYO

>>41235353Tell your mom to shove it up her arse. And it can be up to 90% cheaper. I looked at a NY -> Orlando flight a few weeks ago and it was starting at around $55.
>>41235636Hey, don't be rude to anon's mom, other-anon - she's rightfully worried for her 'lil boy. You're just jealous that she loves him so much.

>>41235700It's okay us old men can play Hero Quest in the corner
>>41235715You fucking faggot, Florida is a 250$ flight down for us. That’s nothing compared to what Eurobros and, god forgive me for uttering this phrase, Aussies have to pay

For KSC we have a total of 29 sign ups currently, a good amount of folks and I have decided that sign ups will close on the 6th of August, just to give time for invoices to go out and we have things all cleared up. >>41235700Oh sweet if that's the case I'll bring some Commander decks with me if people want to have a game or two>>41235715My suggestion is use Skyscanner for a flight like that>>41235973>>41235980I actually got a good deal, the price dropped about 500 so I picked it up

>>41234463Did you reply to emails? Or is there a way to check if I'm in?

I'll answer any questions anyone had while waiting for the event to be fully set up. I'll be waiting for any payment information to be final before sending an email informing you all of it.
>>41236005He comes from Middle Earth
>>41235715Fucking nigger, canada to orlando is only a few hundred bucks. Us cunts are shilling out thousands to go to mare fair. We haven't had a convention worth going to since 2013

>multitude of cool events being planned around the con>anyone can join, not just close-knit friend groups>on top of the con itselfIs this what conventions were like at the height of pony? I never got to experience any of those, but it seems different than what I have observed from most recent conventions. Kinda like there is more passion at this con compared to others?
>>41236814Usually the ones organizing these things are part of larger board things like /mlp/con or Secret Santa. Just want everyone to have as much >fun as possible. Pretty based ngl
>>41236814Seeing all the passion that was there last year compared to the things I heard about any other con is what drove me to grab a sponsor ticket as soon as they released. This'll be my first con and I'm excited as hell

>>41237443Alright, I said this before and I’ll say it again, spec was LITERALLY wearing a diaper under his skirt. How the fuck did nobody else see it?? Am I going nuts? Did I hallucinate it?

sex with fanny
>>41237674He's a troon who dresses like trixie, complete with skirt and, it seems, a diaper. He might be an alright guy, I've never met him ^:)
>>41237728talked to him at marefair, he’s a bit more autistic and than your average anon, and was kind of a dick while he manned the doors, but honestly, I can look past that. What I don’t like about him is the fact that around a year and a half ago he was caught selling handmade shit he got during /ss/ online. Couple that with the fact that he spams CyTube streams like a motherfucker and it’s no wonder why people hate him.If we see him at Marefair let’s all yell “faggot” and spit on him, maybe shove him around a bit.
>>41237738>If we see him at Marefair let’s all yell “faggot” and spit on him, maybe shove him around a bit.I cannot endorse this statement

What's the best way to quickly make friends at mare fair? Do I just go up to people and ask them who their favorite pony is? I want to find a group quick because things are more fun with friends and I can't bring any of my non-horsefucker friends to the con. Also I would like to go to a room party because I've never been to one before.
>>41237799Check the thread for breakfast/lunch/dinner get togethers (breakfast seems best for your case) and make friends with the people you sit with. Worked well enough for me. or you can come to the morning plush run(s)
>>41237801The morning plush run sounds fun if it's what it sounds like.
>>41237799Dude, you’ll be fine. First night I walk into the wrong room by mistake, and some anon just immediately hands me a beer and asks me if I want to shotgun with him. I ended up hanging with the OPGods for the rest of the con, everyone calls them faggots but they were the most socially well adjusted people there. For you, I’d recommend finding a door with loud sounds coming from it. Start pounding on it as hard as you can until anon opens the door for you. When that happens, introduce yourself and offer him a crisp, green handshake. After that, you need to clearly state your desire to get down and request entry inside. Unless you’re Spec or Brandon Hole there’s like a 95% chance they’ll let you inside. You’ll be fine, dude. Just don’t act like a shy autistic creep and you’ll be alright by me. Just be careful where you sit down, I sat on some guys chastity cage on night one.
>>41237810Exactly as it sounds, just keep an eye out in the thread
>>41237799Just let fate grab you by the dick and take you where to be. If you feel like you should be partying, just follow the sounds of happy anons. Let the beautiful mare voices be your guide.
Last night I had two separate Marefair nightmares.I'm starting to see why nopony liked Nightmare Moon.
>>41237840Wake up, you’re still having one.
>>41237821>>41237738Honestly, even Branhole I’d let in if he asked nicely. If I see Spec at my door, I’m slamming it in his face.

>>41227481>>41227631After thinking a bit more, I can just tell the theater I want every single seat in the auditorium and leave signups up until every seat is claimed. But the auditorium size will still depend on how many people sign up by the end of the month. Currently, the auditorium size quoted to me is 125 seats and we've got 95 people signed up. We'll see if we have to upgrade to a bigger one.

I don't expect that's going to happen (you guys are all pretty cool), but I should just lay down the ground rules just in case. I drove to trotcon on Saturday for M.A Larson and Spec and while I was happy to see them both. Spec told me he's not going to Mare fair this year due to declining mental health and anxiety issues so I don't see a point shitposting about him. Larson was cool though. Got his book signed.
>>41238932Wtf this actually gonna be us.

>>41223801A pony-themed game jam panel (bring your own laptop) might be cool. First 2.5 days for building them and then the last half of the last day for public judging.
>>41239499Make the jamming part a week before, otherwise you would spend the entire weekend programming and miss the whole con.
>>41239514maybe maybe In my own experience, I was able to take a day off to visit family and still have a functional program at the end for one 3-day jam. Several other team members were also engaging with it casually/with prior obligations. Of course when I say "functional program" I mean you could do one thing and it had a quit button and a fail state. So your concern is definitely real.
How are you guys able to see out of your green mask? I've got one that's fine when I'm in the house, but I can't see more than a few feet in me. Am I just buying the wrong brand or something? I'd rather not spend the entire con guessing where I was going. I could get one with eyeholes, but that seems a bit weird
>>41239743If you choose eyeholes, you could always wear shades over em.
>>41239743>>41239748Shades are an option, but then you HAVE to wear them and it kinda ruins the "Anon" look, especially if you don't have the glasses on. I made sure to pull mine as TIGHTLY as I could over and it stretches the fabric enough to see through well enough to see in front of me in well lit areas and outside. Seeing details (reading phone/text) is a bit difficult, but if I really need to read something or see something, I'm lifting it up or taking it off. Also don't try to drink whiskey through the mask - it doesn't end wellI'm going to be bringing a few extra masks to hand out to people that seem interested.
>>41239743Like with all things it takes practice, if you start wearing it around the house for long periods of time your eyes will become better at detecting things through the mask. You still won't be able to see much but you will run into things less. Alternatively I've found the ones labeled 'halloween' or 'cosplay' generally have better visibility than ones labeled 'greenscreen' or 'chroma key'
>>41239748True, and at least if I had the one with eyeholes built in, it wouldn't look jank if i had to take them off, unlike purps lmao
>>41239777>spoilerkek, it's not that bad but it's not a great idea overall

>>41239890I'm gonna be in the 2024 pic, so I can guarantee the fatness will be doubled
>>41239777Yo, question about the anon suit. I have a full body morph suit but when I put it on I feel incredibly uncomfortable and itchy, even when I wear it over gym shorts and a t shirt. Would it be worth cutting off the neck part so I can wear the head like a mask, while I cut off the sleeves to make gloves? I don’t want to ruin the elasticity or anything.
Do we have a confirmed list of vendors yet? I need to know how many are attending so I can budget my money.
>>41238879>>41238911>>41238940>>41238965>>41238972I don't know about you all, but I would prefer to not have my face filmed for an hour and a half. I'd like to retain some small level of anonymity, and I don't want to watch a whole movie wearing a green maskNow, filming the audience from the back, MST3K style? That would be fine. It would still capture the audience reactions, and let the homecon anons feel like they're in the back row watching the movie with everyone else
Is another 1/2 hour anon/Anonfilly meetup "panel" scheduled this year?>>41240024It may ruin the elasticity, and also cause threads to fray and unravel the mask/gloves. You might be better off just buying the mask and gloves separate.
>>41240063Seconding this, an after-show photo shoot would be kino though
>>41240063I would say this as well, I'm not keen on being filmed for the whole thing. If you guys framed it such that only the bottom 3 rows were being recorded though, I think we could all agree on that.
>>41240063>>41240086I wasn't really sold on the idea of a video recording anyway. Again, the theater would probably have an issue with it. But also, I'm not sure if that would actually be all that interesting to watch. Especially since the room would be dark. And yeah, I don't think most people would want to be recorded. HOWEVER, an audio recording would work better if you just want to capture audience reactions. You can sync it up with the movie and it would be a bit more like Rifftrax than MST3K. It would also be way easier to set up. I'm going to think about it some more, but I'd only really go for it if there was an consensus from you guys.>>41240082I'd love to get a group photo! I'd have to get some hapless usher to take it.
>>41239528I'm glad that it worked out for you and some other people, but not everybody is a fuckin wizard at doing that kind of thing
>>41239743anon that's the whole fucking point. well not the whole point, but you get what I'm saying, it's part of the whole experience.you don't have to go around as anon the whole time either, I only went as one during the anon/anonfilly meetup.
>>41229156>>41228090>>41230039Whipped up a few versions for what the text could look like based off current inputs for the mission name.
>>41240380looking good, I like them all
>>41240024I wore a full morphsuit for MF1 and it was horrible, making the switch to a mask and gloves was the best decision I've ever made. Also tried cutting up my morphsuit after Mare Fair but the elasticity of it all comes from it being in one piece so it all gets wrinkly when it's separated also don't know if this has happened for you but the face gets wrinkly just wearing it which was a huge pain
>>41240481>>41240076Alright, guess I’ll go buy a hood and gloves then, it might be expensive but I’m sure it->5$ mask and gloves combo“That sounds pretty good but it’s probably gonna rape me on shipping”>scroll down, shipping is freeFuck man, how do Chinese companies even turn a profit? I know that everything they make is made either by a slave or by an indentured servant, but this is like 3 bucks in burger dollars. They’re giving them away. I’m a bit worried about the neck length tho, that could definitely be a bit longer. I don’t want the base of my neck to be showing, that would suck.
>>41240574This has gotta be some shady data mining operation for the Chinese government. How is this profitable? They must be bleeding out shipping these across the ocean for nothing.

>>41230054Wanna talk about manned space exploitation?
>>41240708As fun as it would be to post the story where 60% of the words were nigger, it may cause some unwanted tension between the convention and the venue. >>41239787saved. I roomed with the anon in the white drive jacket, he was chill as fuck.
>>41240757Actually, there may be a way to work this out. If you have something thats too spicy to share out loud, we plan to have a segment where we apply ficwhoring in practice, such as tapping the shoulder of the person next to you, and giving them a chance to read whatever you have on your screen. This act is basically a condensed version of an elevator pitch that hinges on how well you can convince someone to give you 30 seconds of their attention, and that what you're bringing to the table is good enough to hook their interest. So half the panel would be readings (nothing that would get us kicked out of the venue), and the other half would be teaching proper techniques of ficwhoring, and practicing it on any anon in arms reach (go nuts). Plus a bit of standup comedy to smooth things along.

>>41240607As someone with importing experience this is pretty much correct, whatever loss they are getting on transport and production is billed out by their government because in the end of the day when someone has option to buy something 50$ USA made or 5$ chink shit they will always go for chink shit (making a loop of supply and demand of "nobody buys non-china crap so only china gets monopoly on production").Btw, does anybody have any experience in getting silicone fingerprints glued to gloves so they can stil be used with the phone screen?
>>41240731>have it be its own panel? It kind of was last year together with the Anonfilly meetup, Anon cosplays were voted on and awarded. The posted pic is from that event.>>41241208>they can stil be used with the phone screenMaybe it's just the specific gloves I got, but they kind of worked for touch through the gloves. I think the stretch of the gloves will make any touch dot you glue onto them fall off pretty quick.
>>41241240Yeah but the contest part wasn't advertised (at least to my knowledge) and the only guy going for something specific was Anondalf the Green over there. Making it it's own panel would inspire people to make more inspired Anons
>>41241323I did the contest part just because I wanted to. It wasn't actually part of the "panel". Would be cool to see a contest in some form again, but I won't be able to give out silver marecoins to the winners this time around. Definitely should be a fun prize awaiting the winner(s) to really incentivise anons to dress their best.
>>41241323there wasn't an announced contest, my wizard stuff was intended for the cult if mare panel, but it won me mare schizo of the year so I won't complain too much
>>41241186Anything you're passionate(autistic) enough to wax on about for hours about would be interesting. I didn't expect to watch as much of that keyboard panel at /mlp/con as I did, but it was interesting hearing everything he knew about it
>>41241434How would I be able to do a horrible fetishes panel?Like I want to go into vore, watersports, diapers, transformation, brain fucking and allBut Im not quite sure how to make it a pnel and not just a read of encyclopedia dramtica type thingIm just tired of people doing it wotrong like porn anatomy
>>41241434One of the best panels I went to started off as a discussion about different genres of metal, and quickly devolved into everyone showing off samples from their driving playlist. There was another panel regarding data analysis of fimfiction author popularity and readership - which was rather dry and technical, but had some interesting findings. Due to the many different genres of fiction, you could be one of the top ten authors on the site, and 50% of the readers may have never even heard of you.
>>41241449Something tells me that a half hour or more of discussing that stuff would be a bit much/poor taste, even for Mare Fair. But I also understand it wouldn't be entirely out of place for a late-night panels like last year that got lewd.

>>41240731maybe it could be an "Ask an Anon" panel, in which all the people who are cosplaying as anon go (as well as other people who want to attend), but you're the host and get to call anons up to the stage to ask them stupid questions about themselves/views on the board/randomass shit.>who is best pony?>who is worst pony?>what do you think of [insert controversial board/any topic]>how much of a newfag are you?>are you skub or anti-skub?>can you cook literally anything other than cereal and toast?>do you wear pony merch in public or are you a faggot?>triforce for us, right nowI dunno, I think it could be fun
>>41241681Could be a riff on those old dating shows but instead of a 3dpd it's a mare they're vying for. I can't remember the name of it but it's the guys answer questions while the date is hidden behind a screen
What would a good writing panel look like?I dont want to do so much a 101 as much as just post some of my critiques, like watch some porn before you try and violate the denizens of hell with your cringeorMake a roiugh map of your world, even if its as simple as putting things relative to a compass
>>41241681You could also at times ask more serious or insightful questions to see what a real anon's opinion on something might be. And if another anon wants to answer/counterargue, they would be free to share the stage with anon. It might be too complicated, but it would be cool to perhaps get some real, actual discussion going, too.
>>41240380Oh wow this is great >>41240721 does make a good point though. See how it looks with some resizing and the arrow not there. Thank you again for the hard work making this it brings me joy.>>41240733Was that last work a typo? I do enjoy space autism a lot and that would be neat

>>41240235It's really not wizardry. On that particular project, none of my teammates had ever touched the engine before. One poor sap couldn't even launch the editor, but still made some art assets. Modern game engines have half the features of your game already a lot of the time. Games are actually just easy to make and not "it's easy brooooo *writes ray tracer from scratch*". I still genuinely think a pony-themed game jam would be a fucking awesome event to have.
>>41241681I dare you to run a panel like this. You need to have at least a few anons on board though to ensure you actually have anons to question
>>41241681Seems you got the idea down better than me Anon, but if you're not keen on doing it I'll throw my hat into the ring

Where the fuck do you guys get your anon masks/gloves/morphsuits/whatever? Every listing I see online looks super shoddy even at higher price points
>>41242309I get mine on amazon though any online retailer carries them
>>41238851After talking some more with the theater, I learned that the price jumps up pretty significantly with the next auditorium size upgrade, because then we need to use their biggest one. That one holds 220, and I'm not sure of the likelihood of another 120 people signing up. So, I'm thinking about capping it at our current auditorium, with about 20 more seats available.

>>41241784I still think you should have it for sure, but just not with the time limit/restriction of it being over the con days. Perhaps have people make it in the week or two before the con, and if people want to challenge themselves, they can do it during, but I don't think it's right to potentially make people miss out on portions of the con just cuz they want to participate in another panel.
>>41241895I would, but I've done panels before and I know I suck at them. >>41243229>>41243230I'm actually disappointed that I couldn't find enough people at trot to help drink everything. Came home with a whole case that never got opened. There is another convention that does not have this problem. I had managed to print a few lethal company helmets, got the orange jumpsuit, stuck my bluetooth noisemaker into a blue foam boom box, and spray painted a milk crate red. With this red crate, I stuck about 30 bottles into it, and waltzed right through the convention center, down into the pool area, and exited through the door leading to the unofficial smoking/drinking area. Queued the music, donked the crate on the ground, and started shimmying.

>>41245022If you mean the Arcade and iFlyPossibly, I've just been busy moving this past week and haven't had time to sit down and plan this stuff outArcade Monsters is a barcade but one of the biggest in the state, they're open till 2AM, so this might be an alternative to the traditional roomparty and might be an evening weekend event or something, or we can plan an entirely separate trip.iFly is a bit more difficult. Depending on when people feel like going flying will depend on the cost, which will probably affect the attendance. There's a couple ways to do this, we either all agree on a time and book separately, or we try to get a group rate. If we book separately, then then we can either go for standard rate at $90 for two sessions in the wind tunnel, or we can aim for the discounted off-peak hours rate of $70 but that's only valid between 11:00 to 4:30 M-F. If we have 6 or more people I can apply for the group rate which is $85 / person. Now when you're in the tunnel with the instructor the tunnel operator is also working a camera. Normally you pay for those pictures, but those are included.Really I just need a rough idea of how many people want to do it and when so I can pick a slot.
>>41245266If you do get time to plan it all out, you should definitely bring it up early next thread to grab attention and see if anyone wants to do it. this thread is almost dead though.
>>41245394Okay, I'll mercy kill it.
>>41245399You maniac! You killed the thread! Damn you! Damn you straight to hell!!!
I hope there won’t be a week-long gap between threads like that one time
>>41245441Well we can't just have constant Marefair threads, can we?
>>41245441there probably will be, simply because there isnt much new news regarding the actual con, which is when they post the threads.
>>41245456like, a week or 2 before the con there might be a constant rolling thread. I kinda hope they sticky it.

>>41245546that's why all those kinds of events have been collecting emails so that contact can be made outside of the threads.

So you think there'll be an outsider "documentary" made on the con this time around? Maybe something along the lines of "4Chan's My Little Pony Convention"Has a nice ring to it yeah?
>>41245712I sure hope not
>>41245712Yeah it’ll air in the time slot right between My Strange Addicition and Hoarders to really drive it home
>>41245679I already procrastinated too long for the panel idea I was thinking of doing this year, so it'll have to wait for next year.
