>Be Anon.>Wake up in the middle of the night.>Not that night means much when it's eternal.>Nightmare's stolen all the blankets again.>The fireplace has been reduced to blue magic cinders, your back and legs are freezing.>The only noises are Nightmare's steady breathing and the ticking of the grandfather clock in the corner.>It was your gift for your 150th birthday.>Every inch of it was covered in hoof carved and painted space iconography, from the Shuttle to the Apollo missions, Earth's constellations as best you can remember them, the face being completed with Earth and Equestria as seen from their respective Moons.>She was downright giddy when she unveiled it to you in private, you could tell she had to restrain herself from prancing around you as she studied your reaction, to make sure you were sufficiently awed, which, of course you were.>You hate it.>The rumbling of the gears, the heavy tock, tock, the way every image on it glowed, made it almost impossible to fall back asleep whenever you woke up.>It's a secret you've decided you'll just have to take to your grave, for speaking it might send you to it.>If she ever allowed you to die.>You shift one arm out of its position between her horsie shoulder and wing to reach for the blanket.>"Nnn!" Nightmare squirms in her sleep, her wing swooping forward to snatch you in her feathery embrace, pulling you against her.>"Mmm…mine…" she murmurs.>Wait.>Feathery?!>Your eyes snap open. >The mare poking out from the blanket pile, wrapped in your arms, is half the size of Nightmare.>You had just grown touch-blind to her.>Who the ever-loving fuck?!>Her mane is actually physical instead of some nebulous star cloud.>But that forelock.>The smell.>Her face, body, they're all the same…>But her fur is blue.>Her wings have feathers."Moonlight…? Is that you?">You lift your one free arm and poke repeatedly at her snout.>"Nnnn! No squirming…stop it, I'm the night…" >It's her voice…but about half an octave higher pitched.>You snatch your other arm back from underneath her neck and sit straight up, looking this strange mare over.>She's still an alicorn?>From what you can see poking out of Mount Comforter, she looks just like your wife, just…blue-er and smaller.>More like a normal pony, albeit skinny as a rail.>It's like looking at your wife through a funhouse mirror.>Everything about her is almost Nightmare Moon, almost the living eldritch abomination you know and love but more…normal.>Her snout scrunches and she paws at the air, searching for you.>"Minion, where'd you gooo…?">She cracks a sleep-caked eye open, revealing a decidedly round pupil and white sclera.>In a stronger, more coherent voice, she growls, "Either somepony's dead or you're about to be. Now get back down here before I make you.">That's either her or the worst Changeling you've ever seen.>You remember your shibboleth."You're a big mare.">"For you," she replied automatically.>It's her.
>>41447940"Nightmare, are you ok?">"Of course I am, now if you…don't…" she trails off as she gets a good look at her own foreleg.>Her eyes snap open, a pair of terrified dinner plates.>She lets out a yelp and hits you square in the hip with her hoof, knocking you back, off the bed.>You land with a thud and a cry of pain.>Getting back up, you watch her flail against the blankets she's now ensnared in, indigo feathers and hooves flying in her panic.>She soon lands on the other side of the bed with a thud.>You hear the sound of her magic before the room is bathed in moonlight.>A moment later the light fades and Nightmare stands back up, blanket wrapped around her now bat-like wings, her face a deep crimson under her jet-black fur."Moonshine? What even was that?">"It was…I…" She fought for a coherent explanation, "You…I gave you the wrong dream…">You look down at the bed and pick up one of the blue Secondaries she had lost in the scramble."I dunno. Usually the dreams you give aren't that cute…">You try to ignore the throbbing pain of the growing bruise on your hip.>"You thought that she was…that I…cute?" She squeaked, "I…but…why?!">You furrow your brow."Should I not think you're cute?">"No! I-yes! No, that's…Luna's short, and ugly, and stupid and you're not supposed to like me…her…">THAT was Luna?>There have been bits and pieces here and there.>An old tapestry, a page from a burned book, confessions from a Solarist's lips…rumors, but nothing concrete until now.>You grin."Well that's a shame, cause I like her as much as I do you.">Her blush grows until it reaches her pointed eartips, "You…really?">You approach her, your arms wide for a hug."Of course I do. I love you no matter what flavor you come in.">She accepts the hug, burying her face in your shoulder as her wings and forelegs wrap around you.>"You truly mean that?" Her voice muffled, her head buried against your chest."Would I ever lie to you?">The grandfather clock towers behind her, an astronaut's visored helmet glaring accusatorily into your very soul.>She must never know.Couldn't sleep, I blame the discussion last thread for this. Hope you guys like it.
>>41447946Wholesome, it's a big step forward for Moona to know you accept (in her eyes) her "inferior" self, the one she hides behind her gigachad ideal form. Even if she takes off the mask, the love will stay genuine, and not just another illusion, just two hearts.

>>41455076That depends. If I'm one of her only real friends or her lover and she's very clingy she could be devastated due to her whole trope about not being loved as equally. However, if I was friends with Princess Luna, I would make time for her regardless of anything. Anything.

Some words for the virtual side of moon, particularly when part of love for her might be manifesting in real world instead, during this weekend.Post a personal thought about her you had, anon.
>>41460779not really a thought I had about her, but the other night, I caught myself simply staring at the moon, there was something about it that night that captivated me, during that time I didn't have any thoughts about Luna, but I simply thought OF herI wasn't really thinking of how she'd act or react to something or what I liked about her, but just scenes of her from the show ran through my head, voice and allso that was nice
>>41460779I love stuff like this. I wish there was more detailed charts similar to this
>>41447670based
>>41460779>>41460944Interesting, I've had similar experiences.I drive for a living, yesterday running at night heading down from Fairbanks to Whitehorse. The moon was exactly at the phase of her cutie mark, it's already in the minus temps and the sky is absolutely clear, fields of stars and beautiful aurora. I could feel her presence, a peaceful serene kind of love. Images of her flashed in my mind, from frolicking in moonlit fields to simply laying there contently. I also imagined she'd be laying in the sleeper, or climbing into the pass seat, gazing up with me. One eye on the road, one in the sky, and tears out of both my eyes. It's been awhile since I've had to go north, I'm usually close enough to the cities that light pollution or clouds/smog just block out her nights splendor. It was one of the happiest nights I've had in a while. She's real to me, and I love her
Do you love her enough?
>>41460779my thoughts of her, as well of her sister, have been of admiration lately as opposed to anything romantic. i really feel the need to live up to their example, and that they'd want better for me than what i currently have going on. not due to their status, but just because i know they'd want me to bring out the best of myself. my love for her and her sister has really taken on a different form as i've grown, and i really appreciate their continued presence in my life
>>41463740Based, I've lately pondered what would they do in situations I find myself in. like a what would jesus do moment but less gay and acting on it. They are amazing role models.

>>41468655personally, this pic is giving me 'Eris from Sinbad' vibes, it seems to me more like she's laying in the cosmos itself, watching it all drift byor maybe that's just her mane

>At Mare Fair 2024>1am venue "Luna Love and Appreciation Panel">Go there, and it starts of amazing>Give speeches about her, we sperg out, have fun and good laughs>Random 40 minute section where we have to listen to one autistic trucker play geo-guesser for the Pacific North West only>Lose half the audience>???It was still pretty fun
>>41472657write more about the mooniest parts of the panel, anon! were those moonfags of the cool autists variety or were they branded by the scary serious autism?
>>41472669Probably the best part was when we got to give speeches about her. A few people had some interesting things to say, sperg out about how we love her etcOne guy started an argument saying that you can't like NMM and Luna because they are opposite and we were arguing back that she was the same mare.He had a bunch of slides just talking about her, nothing too spicy but there was a picture of her with lingerie on and people started falling to the floor. We were all laughing and having a good time. The host asked "Alright, so we all know why we're here. You guys are sexually attracted to her right" and we all did the sarcastic "Nahhhh" and similar stuffAnother good thing I'm proud of was a slide asking if we associated her with any degenerate fetishes and we all boo'd (proud of you guys)Also there was a huge Nightmare Moon plush sitting at the table, and at the end (around 3am 2 hours past closing) the owner came and picked her up and revealed to everyone that the plush did indeed, have a pussy. Some touched, I did not because I wasn't about to risk thatIt was all in good faith and fun. Minus the geo guesser part that was strange. I won a bottle of real horse shampoo
>>41472795That sounds fun and wholesome, wish I could attend.>>41472657didn't know there where other moonfags doing this stupid job, of course the one driver who could actually attend had to go full autismo. We of the teamsters union apologize, our tard wrangling department is severely underfunded.
>>41472657As the autistic trucker, that's the only part of the panel I feel sorry about hijacking. I was really hoping for more than just the PNW. I have pics of her from all over, I would have loved to have shown them off.>>41472795>Some touched, I did not because I wasn't about to risk that For what it's worth, that has been kept totally pure. Her puffy purple pony pussy is for display only.>>41472865I'd post a pic of her in the sleeper if this shitty plane wifi would let me :)
>>41472795Glad you had fun.>One guy started an argument saying that you can't like NMM and Luna because they are opposite and we were arguing back that she was the same mare.Did your group managed to convince him to your point of view?
>>41473041I don't think we were. But true Lunatics know that Luna and Nightmare Moon are the same pony, only difference being the name. So I don't love "both of them", I love HER
>>41473274Nothing but true statements here
>>41472657I was there too, and desu we definitely could have been doing something a little more engaging for the rest of the crowd, but I'm not gonna complain. I got to hang out with some moonbros talking about Moon late into the night. Definitely had fun overall.

>>41472669i fucking missed
>>41473760That's the best spot on her snout.
>>41474174>implying there ARE bad placesherecy
>>41474189Not quite, anon.>the best spotvs>the good spotPay attention to the difference. The former wants to hold pretty blushing blue pony's head in his hands, running thumbs in circles on her cheeks, putting his nose and/or lips all around the snoof, gazing into those mesmerizing eyes. The other is what a certain cereal boopist's mouse cursor would say. Pixel perfect accuracy comes with the tradeoff of not having a way to apply palms on greater surface of the pony. Well, this still doesn't imply bad places on the pony.
How would Luna respond to being given all the moon's of Jupiter? I sincerely seek (your) opinion since that is what I am thinking of getting her for her birthday. I was going to wrap three of the four biggest with different color sparkly wrapping paper. The other one, Io, I was simply going to put a bow on (because otherwise the sulfer volcanos would ruin the wrapping paper).Captch: TR0N

>>41476069>look who's finally left her room
>>41476069Poor girl looks absolutely exhausted. What was she doing the night before?
>>41476335Sadly, she just did her job as usually. That's just what she's like by the time he sun is up.
>>41476397Honestly not a fan of what we've seen of their lives in that one episode. Both sisters are practically dead asleep by the time they finish their respective duties. It would be near impossible for us or sunfags to share our lives with them if things were that way. I much more prefer what the fanbase usually portray their lives as (see pic related as an example). Leave the soul grinding style of work for the real world and don't put it in my fantasy happy ever after.
>>41476489Unfortunately, it's pretty damn accurate to reality. Most people who run any sort of organization, business, yes, even country, spend each and every day working from the minute they get up to the end of the day, constantly putting out fires, dealing with crisises, and wrangling idiots who can't think for themselves. That's what (You) are for, Anon. (You) can help take some of that burden off of her, to give her a chance to look up and realize that holy shit, everything is running smoothly for a change, come on Anon, we have an hour or two, let me teleport us to Rainbow Falls and we can have a fun time.
>>41476489Because habershit is soulless and made out of spite.>>41476528Only a demonic kike like Haber would poison a beautiful fairytale with irl human cancer.
>Heh. You like moon, don't you, Anon?
>>41476689Yes
>>41476489This just let's you reinforce the trope of:Swooping into someone's life of chaos/hard work and showing them much needed loveI would kill to comfort a tired Luna after a long day/night
>>41476960>I would kill to comfort a tired Luna after a long day>Luna makes an offhoof remark on how the summer solstices annoy her a lot, since her night gets so short, and she doesn't get enough rest with all the sunlight>Anon, the not the sharpest tool in the shed, tells her that he'll fix the problem and disappers>a short story of Luna galloping around Canterlot, slowly discovering from other ponies and clues in surroundings that Anon is probably going to get rid of Celly's swan necc problem the very wrong wayI'm just not sure where to go with this, would probably have to be something short due to time pressure and keep the fast pace of a race against anon, but still keeping a comedic tone of course.I now remember that one time a few weeks? ago when we had a tiny bit of momentum to start some story to be co-written by thread.
>>41476960Sure, but that feels selfish to me.What I mean by that is, it makes me her "savior" who brightens up her day (or night, in this case), but in this scenario she still lives that same back breaking life she lived before meeting me.What I don't like about that is both princesses are working themselves to death, except they can't even die so it's like an eternal punishment for them.
>>41477173Well, according to that episode, they're up and doing things before their 'shift' starts. They also both do an impeccable job, even if it is exhausting because they're so thorough. >What I don't like about that is both princesses are working themselves to death, except they can't even die so it's like an eternal punishment for them. When given the chance, Luna happily chose that kind of life, running the country, if not the world, by herself as Nightmare Moon. They're both exhausted after a long day/night, but my guess is, they're also left feeling fulfilled and happy.
>>41477173How is that selfish? I can't force her to do anything or change the world. She is the Princess, a ruler.Committing my time and energy to comforting her and making her day better is the opposite of selfish. And wouldn't that make it worth it for her? Alone at the top, those long days at work, but having someone to come home to that loves you, shows you personal attention like no other, and tends to your needs? I know I would enjoy that.
I love her. Tonight is one of those particular nights. I want to bury my face in a thick tuft of fur on her chest and stroke down her back with my hands.
>>41468056Didn't see this until today but I love this and thank you for sharing it.
>>41476960>>41477164>>41477173>>41477346>>41477413It's habershit, it's terrible and not canon. Never try to find reason in it and never accept it.
>>41479041Alright, fine. Let's say you made it to Equestria, you two found each other, hit it off, and have been together for years now. What would an average night in your lives be like? Walk us through it, I'd love to read it.
>>41479324>Image>WeDo you think Luna uses the royal 'we' in reference to bother herself an nightmare moon?
>>41479324Not that Anon, but for me, seeing her not dead tired would be enough. As for an ideal scenario, I'm not sure,I don't envision my time in Equestria in such a detail. But from the top of my head, I imagine it could go something like this:>wake up in the afternoon (around 2 to 4p.m.) with her, have some cuddles, shower etc.>have a late lunch or an early dinner for breakfast>late afternoon and early evening as a time for our hobbies/going out together/joining Celly in some important events>in the evening have some last moments of free time together with Celestia before she lowers the Sun while Luna raises the Moon, the latter officially starting her "shift">do whatever I can or am required to do while Luna guards the Dream Realm or holds the Night Court throughout the night (hopefully I can be helpful to her or at least be at her side during this time)>in the morning the two of us have some together time with Celestia again, then watch as they control their respective celestial bodies>part our ways with Celly as she begins her shift, then retire to our chambers, clean ourselves and have some more cuddles before sleep (around 7-8a.m.)I'm sure I forgot some things I wanted to include but this is I'm sure I forgot some things I wanted to include but this is just an example of what one day in Equestria could look like if I was living with Lulu. Exact times of day may vary depending on the season and current weather outside (Princess or not I'm sure we'd stay snuggling under covers longer on a cold, rainy day than on a hot, sunny one).

What is her reward for refusing to be a murderer? She faces the fury of the Elements. The break her, rip away her powers and leave her helpless as her sister looms over her. How would you feel if Nightmare Moon ended up winning because Princess Celestia couldn’t properly use the Elements of Harmony 1,000 years in the past?
>>41495104Oh god dammit I'm actually going to have to watch that one. Fucking hate Tamers, but it's my wife...
>>41495187This is how it starts, bro. Once you watch one episode, you’re forced to watch the rest. Can you handle that pressure? Do you truly believe you can walk the razor’s edge?
>>41495229My friends have spent years trying to get me to watch Tamers. I've seen a few episodes. Never been entertained by a single one.

>>41495245>>41495273I agree, it's a one time watch piece of mediocrity, even calling it a parody would be generous.>>41495104Bittersweet. I think alot of Luna's depth of character came from her imprisonment and isolation (if you follow the HC that she was aware and conscious). If she won uncontested, things would still work out like they did in that glimmer episode, but she would be far more egomaniacal and unempathetic/iron hoofed. It would be a rule of fear. The banishment didn't break her, only reformed her, still the same mind and essence, but more balanced beloved wise princess than power hungry vengeful tyrant. If her story were to end as the victor and sole ruler of years past, she'd be a shadow of the mare we know and love.
>>41495516>The banishment didn't break her, only reformed herI'm not sure about that. She sure didn't look reformed when she came back from that banishment.
>>41495824Nightmare Moon =! Princess LunaUnless you’re the ultimate cynicist, Luna was absolutely remorseful once the Nightmare Forces were separated from her, to the point where she infected herself with the Tantabus because of how guilty she felt. Being imprisoned and separated made her realize how important Celestia meant to her. It made her realize why accepting such a dark bargain was a terrible decision. Even though she and Celestia still had problems, she never went back to the “easy option” of being Nightmare Moon to get what she wanted or win a disagreement.
>>41495884>Nightmare Moon =! He likes giant butts, farts, piss, overly dramatic gay love triangles, overly dramatic yuri relationships, overtly pedophilic and sadistic Princess Celestia, and also the single best representation of Princess Cadence ever created by making her the purest cinnamon roll too good for Equestria.
>>41495884I don't think any extra steps, like a pact with a demon or some such, are required to make Luna's behavior make sense. Adding a degree of separation between Luna and her past misdeeds takes away from her character. The entire Tantabus ep is about self-forgiveness. If you've ever lashed out and hurt and betrayed someone you deeply care for, then you know how hard it is to forgive yourself. It's hard because you know that *you* were the perpetrator of wrongdoing. If Luna truly had no agency over NMM's actions, then what is there to forgive? She might feel guilty that she enabled NMM in the first place through a pact or whatever, but I doubt she would be as wracked with guilt as we see in the episode. If NMM is a separate entity, who's to say that she didn't lie to Luna to get power over her in the first place? Luna might have had no way to even predict the outcome of her agreement.
>>41497970My perspective has always been that the Luna/NMM relationship is not unlike the original Jekyll/Hyde relationship. NMM *is* Luna only insofar that NMM was what Luna wanted to become to defeat Celestia, but NMM *is not* Luna because NMM would not exist without Luna accepting the dark bargain. The point of delineation is incredibly vague, but Luna feels guilty specifically because of this difficulty. In keeping with ideas of duality, Luna’s fall is caused by pride, manifesting as jealousy from Celestia getting praised and “worshiped” while Luna gets a seemingly thankless task. Since pride is a sin, and sin is a step towards evil, one could argue that Luna and NMM are the same. However, just because Luna was expressing evil desires did not make her become NMM. She needed an outside influence to change, which suggests they are two separate entities. The situation is even more muddied because the 1,000 year imprisonment leading to rehabilitation only matters if Luna was aware during that time. Since it was NMM who was banished, that would mean a cognizant Luna must be NMM. Again, another “however” enters the picture if we consider NMM a possessive force. Such a power could make Luna act against her will, meaning that she is not NMM.Ultimately, I believe it depends solely on one’s interpretation of where NMM’s power comes from. If Luna self-manifested NMM, then they are the same entity. If NMM is, as IDW Comics suggests, an outside influence, then they cannot be the same pony.
>>41498003Ya know,I used to think it was kinda like that. That Nightmare was a separate entity from Luna, maybe a Hyde to her Jekyll. Then Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep aired, and I ended it convinced that wasn't the case. She just wouldn't have THAT level of guilt, if she wasn't in full control of her facilities. Problem was to me at the time, I was writing a story that was dependant on Nightmare being a separate entity from Luna. I wrestled with it, could I keep writing a story that's dependent on something that isn't how I view her anymore, do I change the story, start over, what. So one night maybe a week after the episode aired, as I was falling asleep, I decided to straight up ask her. Call out to her to visit me in a dream. She actually answered. Call me a schizo, call it a larp, but this shit is why I can't stop writing about her. It wasn't the first time, nor was it the last. But it was one of the most lucid dreams I've had, she was right there, I could feel her fur, how cool her feathers were when she wrapped her wing around me... and I asked her. Told her I used to think one way because of comments Faust made and the comics, the episode said another, would she please tell me which was right? What exactly was the nature of her and Nightmare Moon? And you know what she said to me?>"Why does it matter?"That little nymph. Almost a decade ago and I still remember the smirk she had. She went out of her way to drive me up the wall. I remember I tried to say something about wanting to be accurate and she responded with something along the lines of "Don't let reality get in the way of a good story...and don't take everything in the show as gospel."Anyway, you reminded me of that whole thing. I hope you've enjoyed my Ted talk.
>>41498003I don't think it's an external force as that possibility was never even hinted at in the show, but I don't understand your statement here either:>If Luna self-manifested NMM, then they are the same entityWhy does that necessarily make them the same person? Luna showed before she can create living things independent of her will - spiders in "Luna Eclipsed" and the Tantabus for example. The latter is especially interesting - I always liked the idea that Nightmare was just what her name suggests: a living nightmare. Willingly created by Luna from her own dark emotions and desires to do what she couldn't bring herself to do - get rid of her sister. It would explain why Luna was the only villain to instantly turn good the moment Elements purified her and why she said she missed Celestia, despite imprisoning her a few hours before with no remorse. It would also explain why she feels so guilty - all the evil of Nightmare Moon came from within her. She didn't invite it into her heart, it was already there. I think Luna learning that about herself would be enough to explain why she's so hard on herself in the Tantabus episode (I still think that episode is bullshit or at least that it aired a few seasons too late).not that Anon btw, just bored.
>>41498812Ah, dammit you beat me to it.
>>41495334 tamers is the best artist of the 21 century
>>41498825>Why does that necessarily make them the same person?Within the original Jekyll/Hyde story, most critics believe that Mr. Hyde is an excuse fabricated by Dr. Jekyll to wallow in his most base desires, and do things he could never do due to his position in high and respectable society. The "potion" is a lie he sells to himself and others as being responsible for his transformation, when it had always been just him. Jekyll had eventually wanted to commit murderer, and decided to find an excuse to be one, which was a "potion" to become Hyde. This would mean that without the Nightmare Forces being a thing, Luna used Nightmare Moon as an excuse to act in a way she believed was what she wanted, which was to overthrow Celestia and be worshiped by her subjects.

Keeping the thread on Luna...What are your thoughts on the nature of Alicorns? Are they Deities? Demigods? Ascended ponies? A weird mutation? Pic related, I love this little thing
>>41506769For sure see them as deities. Luna and Celestia at least. They have magic that is way more powerful than most, and they control forces of nature that no other pony can really compare to. That and they are immortal. In addition, they both have other forms NMM/Daybreaker which are potentially world ending/conquering strong. So definitely deities
>>41506887>tfw accidentally probably waifuing a deity ponewhat now?
>>41506769i would say demigods. they are immortal and possess incredible power, but they still have physical bodies and live among other ponies. even if they enjoy a position of great power and influence, they are not omniscient or omnipotent. i think they were probably endowed with special powers by a deity a very long time ago.>picturei don't like the implications of flurry heart. nopony should be born as an alicorn, it really cheapens the whole thing. she's not part of my headcanon.>>41506922this would be such a lovely picture if the artist didn't give her a cat mouth. i love pictures where you can see the individual brush strokes like this one.
>>41506769One of the reasons why I began to like FiM so much was the concept of them being two down to earth deities living among mortals. So, yes - they're goddesses in my book. Also, fuck that ascension thing and Equestria getting +1 alicorn every season. There are only two, goddammit!
>>41506769I view them the same way as a Primarch, a nigh-invincible, immensely powerful being created by something incomprehensible to the rest of their society
>>41507293I think this is the best way to think of them. While I enjoy a diarchal religion as a fanon world building part of Equestrian society, I think in truth the sisters are non-spiritual beings. Like the Primarchs they are bestowed with God-like power and immortality by their sire, and are put on a spiritual pedestal by their followers, but are ultimately just extremely powerful, near-perfect beings.
>>41507055My personal head canon doesn't even have Cadence as an Alicorn. Royalty, sure. But still mortal. The universe doesn't like having too many immortals. There are numerous ways to achieve immortality but once a particular method has been used it will never work again. It's the universe's way of keeping the numbers down.
>>41506922What now? She's still here physically, she can still love and be loved. It just so happens your lover might one of the most powerful entities in existence

>>41507293>same way as primarchMaybe, if primarchs had more power to affect nature>created by something more powerfulAnd now you're creating entities out of nowhere, again, maybe, if there was at least one fact from canon addressing smth like it>parallels with whI like those, but more about sisters getting to power and unicorns sacrificing themselves everyday for moving the celestial objects e.t.c.>>41507376>many ways that work onceor they're just kept secret by their founders and by classical alchemical immortality do require some form of sacrifice and energy. Like creation of sisters sacrificed whole previous dynasty and probably something more, creation of twilicorn sacrificed the whole Equestria and show, (also don't forget she was alicornized during s3e1 by killing other immortal being, wings are formality). Cadence being random so having less power sounds legit.>>41507422>>41506922>what dojoin moonschizos, praise the Moon unironically e.t.c.>>41507503My sides, but probably it's Celestia who's into crushing bones, Luna would do less brutal but probably more fucked up things

Anyone here know a thing or two about astronomy? I'm trying to design a moon clock that shows the position and phase of the moon instead of normal sun-based time. Currently I'm trying to figure out how long a "day" should be on this clock. A normal day is measured from noon (the meridian transit / upper culmination of the sun) to the following noon and is 24 hours on average. I want the same kind of interval but based on the upper culmination of the moon. This random stackoverflow answer https://astronomy.stackexchange.com/a/36144 says it's 24h52m but with no explanation of where that number comes from or why it's right. I'm pretty sure there's a simple answer like "1 sidereal day + X fraction of a sidereal month", but wikipedia lists so many slightly different ways of measuring orbital periods that it's hard to figure out what I actually need here.
>>41510020not a hardcore fan of that things myself but AFAIK time 'errors' usually come from bunch of factors including not ideal round shapes of earth and moon. Also thing as the moon clock would highly depend on your location by obvious reasons of difference of the orbit angles e.t.c. Actual digital moonclocks (i.e. Casio ones) accumulate those inaccuracy quickly enough so you have to adjust it once a year to be stay accurate, so there are probably even more factors ignored by commonly used models. Keep in mind that both Earth and Moon's orbits are elliptical (probably also not ideal because they're not ideal spheres) so your value differs from 23 to 26 hours. You probably can come up with some leap years for that but maybe start from researching basics of that things before asking on stack or anons. Guy with marked answer in the link you've posted mentioned half of that too so tldr of 'why error' - 'because simpleall models are bad and have their limitations and accuracy'. I personally hate those time things cause when we think we found a good model to rely on - it fails and we have deaths.
THE STARSTHE MOON
>>41506922Just roll with it.>>41506769I see the sisters in the show as long lived regular ponies linked to thier celestial bodies, giving them their immense power/life. They are closer to divine than most, but not the highest principle, they are still characters in a story we can understand and give limited form to, even if highly experienced and wise.Luna is special in this way, as she has dream walking powers and is generally agreed upon to be the more mystically inclined. HC varies, I think in this reality she is a dream hopping egregore living rent free in our heads but I don't see why both scenarios can't coexist.Celestia is the princess of the sun. Bright, powerful, focused on her world and what's on it, blocking out the reality of the starry skies above. Luna is of the stars, many suns, many worlds. If anypony can slip out into genuine divinity, it's her. The perfect mare to cross the line into reality.
>>41511163>not the highest principleuniversum entities are useless. Anything equals nothing. But in some way their actions lead to end of their world and the story, so one might argue.>they are characters in the storyYes, but story is made by people based on culture based on tradition ... so by being included in story She can assure it's>living rent free in our subconsciousness for few more generations. I'm ok with praising all forms of that thing identically. On the other hand Celestia is about making itself, raising to power and then taking it all down with itself. It might be not as common occurring in all cultures as the prototype of Luna, but there are some less known cultural analogies to her.
>>41484427it annoys me how badly this turned out. i really need to remaster it.
Fuck a PMV popped into my head like an old dream but the only things I can remember about it are that it had NMM getting blasted by the elements and a song that said "forever." I can remember a few seconds of how the song goes in another part but I can't put it into text. I hate when this sort of thing happens.
What's the best/highest quality 3D model of Luna?
>>41510020>>41510297Anon, you know the moon isn't actually real in real life, right?
>>41507231>There are only two, goddammit! For one thousand years, there was only one, and everything worked perfectly fine. But as soon as Luna returned, Equestria started to disintegrate with ever-increasing speed. What a weird coincidence. This aside, leftist writers would never be able to give two living deities justice in the format of a kid show. Both sisters fell victim to this simple fact.
>>41507231This but they're not quite gods and Luna looks like this.
>>41513811Unpopular opinion but I like Luna's other appearance. The deep blue matches so well with her character
>>41513811>they're not quite godsIt depends on the definition. If we go with the version popularized by Abrahamic religions - they are indeed not all powerful beings that created reality itself. But by the standards of old polytheistic religions, they are unquestionable goddesses. Celestia is on the level of Zeus or Odin, who also ruled their people in a more direct fashion in the past.
>>41513737 I DON'T HABEEB IT
>>41513824>Unpopular opinionThat's an incredibly popular opinion.>The deep blue matches so well with her characterHow so?I like S1 Luna's design for the exact same reason, that I think it fits so well with her character. To me it works perfectly with her backstory of being the younger sister who gets overlooked by others in favor of her older sister who's seen as the one who's "actually" important. Luna being so much more normal looking very easily and clearly shows this and makes it immediately understood at an intuitive level.>>41513825>It depends on the definition.Absolutely.>If we go with the version popularized by Abrahamic religionsAnon, you're thinking of God with a capital G, not lowercase gods.>they are unquestionable goddesses. Celestia is on the level of Zeus or OdinI think the difference comes down to them being people with godly powers and control over the world around them, as opposed to being more like higher beings who are personifications of some aspect or aspects of life or the world. There's probably some much more definitive differences and qualities that make a god in Equestria. I don't think calling them gods by our standards is necessarily wrong but I think they, Celestia especially, would probably give you a stern earful about what constitutes a god if they caught you calling them as such.
>>41513854>Celestia especially, would probably give you a stern earful about what constitutes a godShe, above all, must know perfectly well that mortals will inevitably deify anything just slightly above the usual drab existence we are all are predestined to tolerate. A pair of beings capable of controlling celestial objects would be called gods in any human culture I know, after all. So that pointless modesty would be unbecoming of Princess Celestia. The Emperor of Mankind did this in Warhammer 40000 and achieved the exact opposite. She would not make such mistakes.
>>41513882It's hardly unbecoming to not want to encourage people effectively treating themselves, and by extension others, as lesser to her. And I think she has good reason for not wanting to be called a god.>The Emperor of Mankind did this in Warhammer 40000 and achieved the exact opposite.Didn't he die and then a cult started forming around him that viewed him as a god?
>>41513909>and then a cult started forming around himIt's began as soon as he revealed himself to humanity. He disliked it, but was never able to root it out. Maybe it happened because he always appeared as a 5-meter-tall giant in radiant golden armor with an otherworldly presence and amazing powers. Same problem with Princess Celestia. Mortal ponies are lesser than her, in all possible senses of the word, and they know it. She is a giant, immortal, and infinitely beautiful version of them. So it would be simply hypocritical of Celestia to constantly remind her subject that she is certainly not a goddess, even if she holds the very fate of the planet in her hooves. I think she simply allows ponies to believe what they want to believe.
I don't like it that the moment the thread starting talking about godhood and power it immediately turned into a Celestia thread with Luna nowhere to be found in this discussion.
>>41513975It's literally three posts.
>>41513981Three posts so far.
>>41513975Obviously everything relevant to discussing Celestia's divine status is also applies to her sister. So don't be offended by it. Celestia is often mentioned first solely because solar deities are always more important in human cultures than lunar ones.
>>41513788>For one thousand years, there was only one, and everything worked perfectly fine. But as soon as Luna returnedFirst of all, fuck you.Second, "Luna" didn't return, Nightmare Moon did. She was then defeated and turned back into Luna. After that more villains followed. In other words: her return wasn't the cause, it was the first symptom.
>>41514092All I'm saying is you can't prove that the changelings weren't actually all just Luna shapeshifting.
>>41514092>"Luna" didn't return, Nightmare Moon didMeaningless distinction. They are inseparable parts of one being. That is why Princess Luna was so unwilling to let go of constant self-punishment in one of her episodes. She knows that she cannot blame any outside forces or influences. Her fall and banishment were her own doing. But sure, I understand that the constant appearance of villains, big and small, is not her fault. It’s just the nature of the show. It still looks weird if we forget about this meta level.
>>41513854>Celestia especially, would probably give you a stern earful about what constitutes a god if they caught you calling them as such. You sure? From what I've seen Princess Sunnybuns has no problems with the images of her or her cutiemark adorning every possible spot in public space. She also has no problem with ponies using her name as an expression.
>>41514161Those are very different things from treating her as a god.
>>41514092Sorry but, Luna and Nightmare Moon are the exact same pony. They are not separate. Sure Luna as NMM has darker magic which might change her personality, but they are the same.

Goodnight, moon
I need opinions/head cannons or show facts. How tall is Luna? How much does she weigh?I've heard based off the show about 6 foot up her horn, and about 5'5 or 5'6 head height. Couldn't find much to back it up but that was a "general consensus"
>>41521155Most methods I've seen put "normal" ponies around 3'6" at the top of their head. This stackoverflow question has a bunch of answers, including the apple method, the "eight foot candy cane" method (pic related), and others:https://scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/15664/what-is-the-relative-scale-of-the-my-little-pony-universeIf you can find a screencap of Luna standing by a normal pony in a neutral pose, you can measure her exactly.
>>41521155not sure, but when she rears up on her hind legs she should be able to comfortably rest her forelegs on (You)r shoulders and be able to look you in the eye with less than 1/2 foot difference in eye heightcelestia would look down on you when doing such a maneuver, while most ponies would be unable to reach your shoulders without you picking them uptl;dr Luna is the perfect height for hugging, dancing with, and cuddling
>>41521155>>41521266Here's one based on EqG doorframes and Angel Bunny, which puts (pony) Luna at 4'5"
>>41521288That sounds beautiful, Perfect height and position for a kiss
>>41521488you're absolutely right, hitler

We never went over how much she would weigh
>>41523849Choose your words very carefully.
>>41523849>>41523947I like to think she has hollow bones thanks to her pegasi aspect. So she's almost disturbingly light for her size.
>>41523849you can't pay me enough to answer that question honestly
>>41523947>>41524401You guys act like this is taboo or mean. Look at her. She is a tall, slender, fit alicorn mare. This is simply to gauge how she would feel if you were cuddling with her or attempted to lift her
>>41524501it is incredibly foolish to try putting a number on your wife's weight, because to do so outside of purely medical purposes is to imply that more than just her teats are fat
>>41524401>>41524501>>41524557This is female 101, the weight is off limits. I also don't need any night terrors tonight so therefore she weights exactly what she needs to weight and is perfect.
>>41521155I'd say about 5'9" for Luna and probably 400 pounds, or about 176cm and 180kg. I say this based on Celestia being 6'6"
brehs...
>>41525387For that height I would personally pit her around 200-300 max. Probably ~220. She is fairly slim
>>41495229>>41525503This is incredibly demeaning to such an important and strong character
>>41525387Finally, someone with a height headcanon closer to mine.>180kgIsn't that a bit heavy for that size? I'm not a horse enthusiast, but doesn't the majority of an equine mass come from it's belly? Luna is very slender and has like no belly - shouldn't she be lighter then?
>>41526510Maybe. But do keep in mind that she's basically equivalent to two people, one standing upright and the other bent over. And she's built pretty thick, like all ponies are.
>>41526252These tamer fucks are a nuisance.
>>41523849Probably around a 1000 pounds.
>>415268181000 pounds is the average weight of a full grown horse.
>>41526941Good thing she's much more than full grown.
>>41526818>>41526941>>41526994Princess Luna is not the size of a full horse. Our ponies are very different in shape and form. I'd put her around 250 pounds maybe, which is perfect
>>41527167Yea I'm saying less than 100 lbs. Pegasi bones, plus being a LITTLE pony, she'd absolutely want you carrying her around all night
>>41526818Just like MY MOM!
>>41527242LESS than 100 pounds? You're crazy. She has four whole legs, her body/neck and head while standing around 5'6 ish. Less than 100 pounds is insane. 200 pounds MINIMUM
>>41523849On the other hoof, here's another theory that a kind anon wrote in response to me. 3 years of liking her, doesn't feel like it will ever stop, even if it's sometimes more or less felt, the moon poni still stays in my head.I wonder what else I was thinking back then about her.

>>41532964Thanks drawanon!>opposite night>Luna wears Anon's suitWhat lunar apparel was left for Anon to wear?
>>41527242I'm absolutely on board with what this Anon is saying.Luna is about 110cm to the top of her head (or 3'7 for those using your weird units), and she is light enought to carry around without any problem. She's not a horse, she's a cute little pony<3
>>415338783'7? Where are you getting 3'7. She's 6 foot up to her horn, which is about a foot long. Which means she's at the very least around 5'6
Just wanna bump in and say: I love you guys and how we have absolutely zero fucking consensus on almost anything regarding Luna other than that we love her. Please never change, /moon/.
>>41535079We might be autists but were HER autists.
>>41523849She weighs such and such amount that is absolutely consistent with how drop dead gorgeous she is, how irresistibly sexy her ass is, and how delightful she is in everyway imaginable. Physicists have derived a unit of measure to describe this amount of mass, called the "luna" (abbreviated lun.). Thus, Luna weighs exactly 1 lun, and she is the standard measure for measures of the masses of any pony that can be termed "sexy". Though, no other pony has been found to weigh even more than 0.85 lun. Theorticans, have speculated that it is actuall impossible for any pony, other than Luna, to weigh more than 0.9 lun. They base this on the idea that Luna is composed entirely of "delightful sexy matter". Hence, in the limit that a mare's "delightful sexy matter" approaches one, she actually becomes Luna. In this way, Luna represents a sort of singularity for pony sexiness, beauty, awesomeness, lovability, tenderness, etc.
>>41500318I'm incredibly envious of your plush. I want one so bad but I gotta hide my power level. I have subtle reminders of her everywhere, mostly blue/purple tritium tubes, burning lavender incense while driving, and other moon paraphernalia. Always thinking of her. Strange we both drive volvos lol. The aquamarine lights really help give my LunaBox a moonie feel.
Alright, I read some of those greens and now I'm addicted. If any anon has anything else including self promotion I'll read it since I'm in my monthly romance reading obsession
>>41536280I liked "Dreams to Dream", I don't remember if it was about NMM herself or not exactly (but saying more might be a spoiler), but I think I could recommend it. If I remember correctly, it had nice slow burn moon romance. https://ponepaste.org/user/StabbyTheSnowman>>41535079Doesn't that mean that each of us loves a different OC, in a way? Wouldn't that be bad, like, total wish fulfillment? Shouldn't one find a pony and love her the way she is (so like what the show said about her), to keep it "healthy" love?Or, are each of the moons background ponies essentially? This sounds hurtful.>captcha: YAY AJ, oof
>>41536280If you want a more recent NMM story on the happier side (but still with lots of turmoil) and a bit of adventuring then I also support Dream to Dreams that >>41536391 mentioned.>>41536391Don't blame Anons for what the writers did with her in the show. She went from an one off character to not existing, to then suddenly always existing but not having any experience on what happened since her return... yeah I'm not even gonna go further.
>>41536391I don't think it's too bad, her character is flexible enough so that every anon gets his compatible night mare. It's less wish fulfillment than it is us mortals appreciating a vast complex multifaceted being. So many stories, so much creativity. There's a core "Luna", who at basic level has traits we all can agree upon (like dream walking, being cute, etc)The moon is a mirror and it reflects on what (you) see in her. There's still an underlying Lunaness, her soul, otherwise she won't be Luna, but I would relegate her to such rigidness of more cut and dry pones. You can love her exactly as she is, and there's much variety of her to be loved.
>>41532073oh fuck that's my green. flattered that you'd share it anon thank you>>41536280this one by Auto is probably one of my favorite /moon/ greens in recent memory https://ponepaste.org/8819
I talked about this a few threads ago, but I wonder what her mane would feel like if you actually touched it. Either a gentle "magic" feeling (whatever that would entail) almost like water flowing over your hand but it isn't wet, and the sparkles in her mane small nicks of heat or another sort of magic.Or it could just be normal hair, just magically flowing strands you could run your fingers through.
>>41525387>400 poundsNope, she must be heavier. Don't let her lean appearance confuse you - ponies and horses are massive creatures. A well-fed pony in our world can easily weigh 600 pounds. And Luna, despite being a runt compared to her immense sister, is far larger than her subject.
>>41537630She isn't a real horse. She has vastly different anatomy in addition to being slender. 400 pounds is a larger margin. 600 pounds is absurd
>"Oh, Anonymous, fret not. We've heard great stories from Cadance about that «human stamina» your kind has. Whether it'll be hundreds or thousands of pounds, our joyous honeymoon will last forever!"
>>41537617i feel like it would feel like a gel to touch but act like a non-newtonian, yet still able to be combed, brushed, and shaped into different hairstyles>it's magic i ain't gotta explain shit
>>41537649>600 pounds is absurdWith a sister like this? I wouldn't be so sure.
>>41537649>She has vastly different anatomyI doubt that. Equestrian ponies are bound to look different from ours, but differences would be mostly centered around the skull structure (bigger brains and full binocular vision) and legs (vastly more agile and suitable for tool use). But in the end, they are mostly, well, ponies. They would have a similar weight. And personally, I don't have any problem with it. It's comforting to realize how massive the Royal Sisters are compared to me.
>>41537692>that fucking episodeApparently, immortal monarchs that can move celestial objects are forced to cook for themselves and decorate their palace personally. Servants in a whimsical, magical castle that also serves as a seat of power? What are you, crazy? That would be oppressive, or something like that!
>>41537737I think Celestia making breakfast is one of the few good things that episode did. It's cute and feels like something she'd do. Probably not all the time, but not uncommonly, and she'd like doing something like that for Luna.
>>41537745Fine, I give you that. A millennium of separation is a long time, even for immortal beings, so Princess Celestia can find some time to care for her sister's needs. But something as basic as putting flowers everywhere is a menial job unbecoming of a ruler. Luna can certainly just order it to be done. The initial sentiment remains the same.
>>41537737>forced to cook for themselvesThere's a lot about that episode that I can't stand, but I had figured Celestia was doing it as a an act of love for her sister. If you look, she puts whatever fruit Luna ate the previous day on the pancakes. She's trying to use it as a way to bond with Luna but it ain't working.
>>41537777I was hoping /moon/ would get the quads. Nice quads, anon.
>>41537692Imagine trying to get fit for Luna but her sister keeps trying to feed you tons of sugary foods and carbs.
>>41537777>but it ain't workingThat is the worst part. I understand that writers are retarded, and some didn't even watch the previous seasons, but still, they must comprehend at least basic things about the alicorn sisters. Celestia and Luna obviously sorted their issues out right after S1E02 instead of just doing things as usual as if nothing happened and making the very same mistakes that led to the NMM situation. But apparently not, and thus Luna is depicted as a dimwit who doesn't know that ruling a realm is a hard work.
https://x.com/someshpo/status/1844025097335800083
>>41537818>Luna is depicted as a dimwit who doesn't know that ruling a realm is a hard work.I guess things were a lot easier back during the days when you could just command your inferiors like slaves.
>>41537818I'm sure she knows. It's reasonable that one in her position would still be a little bitter about it. Her sister still gets a lot of adoration
>>41537833Well, the system that was depicted in the show is indeed somewhat unreasonable. Celestia basically rules as an absolute monarch (like Faust originally intended), while Luna is relegated to the position that every single living being that cannot dream walk would consider a sinecure. There are no Solar and Lunar courts like in fanfiction. There is no separation of power between sisters, taking advantage of their natural predispositions. Writers never bothered. And why would they, really, when Hasbro already ruined worldbuilding by making Cadence an alicorn princess.
>>41537881I still agree, I was just saying. Writers really fucked so much and wasted so much potential. The alicorn sisters and their dynamics are so interesting to me and we barely got anything
>>41537881How do you see their sharing of power working? Personally I still like the idea of playing into the night and day archetypes a bit. Celestia dealing with the more banal aspects of governance, stuff like agricultural management, tax collection, inter-providence conflict resolution, wrangling heads of state, that sort of thing. Luna on the other hand ever the foil of her sister has a low tolerance for bullshit and isn't so much of a "people person." Preferring to handle things like the criminal courts, management of the guard as a whole, military recruitment standards, diplomacy for some of the more abrasive races, industrial production chains, etc. Of course these are also not things they need to or even have the capacity to handle on their own. They're ultimately delegators, making high level decisions which are then handed down the chain by various advisors and functionaries.
>>41538151Well, you have pretty much described the most optimal version. Every single piece of half-decent fan fiction that attempts realistic worldbuilding handles it like that, with minor differences dependent on personal tastes. Celestia is the compassionate heart of Equestria, with her endless patience and mercy, carefully maintaining a functional society and preventing mortal ponies from ruining themselves like all mortals eventually do. And Luna is the unseen (and, as always, a bit unappreciated) immune system of the realm, presiding over all things that are done at night. As for metaphysical duties, I always thought that Celestia commands the spirit dimension where Twilight (and Cadence, as I understand it) received ascension. It would perfectly balance Luna's domain over dreams.
>>41534732>Where are you getting 3'7From my headcanon i guess? *shrug*I'm just stating my opinion on Moonpone size, it seems like the perfect height for me... small and cute and very handy to carry around and hug
>>41538482>very handy to carry around and hugShe is not a body pillow or a flashlight with the added ability to raise the Moon. She is a pony. Stop fooling yourself and build some muscles already. You will need them to carry her.
>>41538530Exactly. Moon pone is equal and greater in many ways to a human form. She is fairly tall, strong, and ample enough size for full body hugs and cuddling. You are the smaller one in the grand scheme of things
>>41538215>As for metaphysical duties, I always thought that Celestia commands the spirit dimension where Twilight (and Cadence, as I understand it) received ascension. It would perfectly balance Luna's domain over dreams.I would only agree to this if Luna was shown having other duties, like the previous Anon mentioned for example. And a bit of "behind the scenes" of trivia about that realm: both Luna and Celestia were supposed to be there, it was a realm they both had access to. The only reason why Luna is missing in the episode is that the showrunners thought she'd be unnecessary and would ruin the teacher-student moment between Celestia and Twilight (that's a running theme throughout the show btw - if you browse through the leaks you'll find instances of Luna being removed or having her lines removed from almost every episode she appears or looks like she should appear).
>>41538610>And a bit of "behind the scenes"Huh. I was completely unaware of all that. To be fair, adding Luna on top of everything in the episode that, in any sane world, would be a full movie would make it even worse.
>>41538578>Ample enough >Excites me so
>>41538578Don't forget a wingspan of seven to eight feet. Even with pegasus magic helping getting a 300+ pound quadruped into the air and up to a decent speed is going to take a lot of power and lift.
>>41539016>Don't forget a wingspan of seven to eight feetAnd Celestia is even bigger. She must be a sight to behold with her wings fully unfolded. People often forget these days that even without their powers, sisters are absolutely majestic beings.
So we're in agreement that Luna is a large, full, plush mare that excels in hugging and cuddling
>>41539720>large, full, plush mareShe is... very warm...So hold her tightly at every opportunity you get.
>>41539747It'd be one of those 'radiating' heat feelings. The air is cool, but her fur soft and her body resonating a comforting warmth. The contours and curves of her equine form forming into your body. Your arms wrapped around her, her forelegs draped over you. The only sound being the swish and sway of her magical mane and her breathing. Maybe a kiss here and there from her lush, full lips.
>>41447614Hey Lunatics, it's Hugh Neutron here. The new short story I talked about last thread is finally finished. To Catch A Falling Starhttps://ponepaste.org/10407Here are the first few lines. I'm not going to post everything here because it's not a greentext format.===A mare, the Queen of night, Nightmare Moon, opened her eyes and beheld the moon again, stretching in front of her in shining grey white. She looked down and felt the gritty dust under her hooves, she looked around and saw the hovel hole she carved to sleep in. The sight was familiar, too familiar. It had been her prison for a thousand years. She remembered her preparations and tallied them once again but found they were all spoiled. She reached out with magic and felt the stars were misplaced. The stars which were painstakingly aligned to assist her had gone past their targets and now Nightmare moon would have to reposition them. Hundreds of runes across the surface of the moon were exhausted and faded, and so were her stars. She had been storing magic in them for hundreds of years to try and get back to Equestria and it was all gone now! Her hooves began shaking as an icy horror crept up her back. *Nay... Please nay* Nightmare Moon thought. “Damn it all to tartarus!” Pain, shame, desperation, gripping hopelessness all swirled around her in dark currents. She could feel it in her veins, her heart raced, and she felt feverish. Her legs failed and she collapsed into a ball, tears in her eyes. The darkness of space loomed over her. *Nay, nay, nay*, she repeated to herself. The swirling dark emotions gripped her insides and settled in her stomach. --- Nightmare Moon jolted up from the imaginary bed and gasped for air where there was none. Her stomach was filled with poison, flipping over itself. She flailed and became tangled in the false sheets as she stumbled away and retched on the ground. She spat and heaved again between crying gasps. Nightmare Moon let out a pained wail before another heave. Sweat poured from her skin. She could hear the blood surge through her ears as her heart pounded on her ribcage. Her bones and muscles shivered on their own uncontrollably, the vacuum of space was cold against her skin. “Nay, nay, nay~” repeated Nightmare Moon. “Hey, are you alright?” said Anon, having been awoken by Nightmare Moon. A cool hand gingerly touched Nightmare Moon’s nape. She flinched and swatted away the offending appendage. Anon stood by looking down at her with concern. “Do not touch me,” Nightmare Moon growled. “Thou art a lie.” “I- what?” questioned Anon.

NMM form means she is not feeling righ, and no level of hot is worth her not feeling right...Guess she could do that transforming trick she did in the nightmare night episode? But then I don't think it matters to me, as long as it's her, she is the most sexy in any form
My gosh I love how addorably shy she looks here
Full moon yesterday.
>>41554817She was very pretty.
>>41511005Ooh very nice detail of all the stars.
>>41554817Pretty picture.

>>41540190Hey Hugh Neutron, it's Olibird. This is a great one. Nightmare's PTSD, her behavior under it are so palpable. The descriptions of her shattered reality are just brilliant and Anon's plan to coax her back to reality is a good one, it feels like someone who genuinely loves her and isn't about to let the love of his life suffer.I hope you don't mind if I critique it a bit, because it's riiiight there on the edge of perfection. >“Thee cur. I-” Nightmare Moon cut herself off. So the second person singular pronouns are a bitch to get right. "Thou" is when the person being referred to is the subject of the sentence, "Thee" is when they're not. However, they were primarily used as a more familiar, informal method of referring to someone. Thou art a most wonderful friend, vs you are a most useful asset to the crown. That's why Nightmare refers to Twiggles as 'you,' while Luna refers to her as 'thou' in Luna Eclipsed. > “My Lord, what happened to you?”>"I’m literally in bed with the crownI'm confused by the nature of their relationship. Are they married? Just dating? I...don't see Nightmare as the kind of pony to sleep with someone without putting a ring on them, locking them in the castle and making sure nothing would ever come to harm them. If they're dating, it's a hell of a security risk to let him travel to and fro from Canterlot and Ponyville. That said, it's a fantastic story. You got me excited enough to REALLY dig into it, wanting moar, moar! Thank you so much for sharing it.
>>41558451you got a sauce on that image, chief?
>>41558478Nope. Found it on dicksword.
>>41558478its ai anon

>>41560050Awww this happy face makes me feel funny in my heart <3Also grab hooded Luna LoL I was bored and I think she looks cute
>>41560050Why can’t I find this Hi Anon? I can only find this one.
>>41543482This is the non-animated one I use. My home screen and cover screen (flip phone) are gifs of Luna and Celestia.
Thanks for reading everyone, I'm glad you liked it.>>41558451Hi Olibird, I think this is my first time hearing about you actually, so forgive me for not recognizing your work or your name.>So the second person singular pronouns are a bitch to get right. You probably noticed I'm not an expert in medieval speech patterns and "second person singular pronouns". My strategy is to just ape at it as best I can so that readers can have fun with it. I'll try to keep that in mind, though I'm not entirely sure those details will elevate the readers enjoyment of the piece.>I'm confused by the nature of their relationship. They are in a serious relationship but not married. I know the attitude of putting a ring on it before boneing but that seems too stiff and cold. I mean in Shakespeare, in Romeo and Juliet, they dance and kiss and frolic together without being married. I bet they can barely keep their hands off each other. Anon did push for more modern sensibilities in this relationship too.>security riskYeah its a risk, but Anon doesn't want to just give up his independence and be locked in a castle all the time with nothing to do. Other stories have a tendency to have a relationship consume someone's entire being, and I think just moving in with the other person is an example of that. They aren't 3 years into a relationship, they are like 1 year into a relationship at most. By the way, I am writing a second "Hugh Review" with the aim of helping writers and readers become better. I think I will be post it in the green thread >>41536405 or maybe the RGRE thread, I'm not sure. You're welcome to come and contribute to the discussion. It's no doubt going to be a shitshow considering I am not in contact with any of the authors of the stories I am critiquing and am going to be speaking broadly to a disorganized public in generalizations, so it should be pretty entertaining.
>>41558451One thing Hugh didn't mention in the post above is that this green is a sequel to his recent other green "Nightmare Moon and the Healing Heart" which is here: https://ponepaste.org/9817The prequel might help explain their relationship more. I can already warn you that this Nightmare Moon is more chill and less evil than her average depiction in fanfics. I like this interpretation a lot but it might not be to your liking, judging by your comments about her when we had the NMM discussion in the thread.>>41561375Is there a chance that one day we'll see another installment depicting their relationship and Moonie's road to recovery or is this series it done for good with those two stories?
>>41562333 (Checked)There is more I will write, but my plan right now is to do a few other stories. A short Hugh-Review, a short Queen Chrysalis fic, and then a long Queen Chrysalis fic. So it will be a long time before the next installment if I don't take any breaks or deviate from my plans.
>>41543482I've swapped previous moon to pic rel today. Usually I have wallpapers with some sky space on top, for calendar and tasks widgets, and a pretty moon pone in the bottom half for boops and snout rubs. It's a sweet feeling.

>>41563462i actually like this picture.
>Anon, art thou saying that thou... likest me to sit on you?
Luna Eclipsed aired on October 22, 2011. I fell in love on that day.
>>41565214You and I both, Anon. I remember I caught up with the show the day before Lesson Zero aired. There was a weird week and a day, where it was just a fun tv show that had a neat fantasy world. Then Luna Eclipse aired. She stole my heart that night and she's never given it back.
>>41565451For me, one of the first pony videos I saw was something like "When she's on the moon". A fad video with that song.
>>41565077id prefer if you swallow me whole but yeah that works too
>>41563829>>41563875>tfw got out of bed on the wrong side

Beauriful wet mane moon
>10Anyone have any examples of Luna wearing her Nightmare Moon helmet in her non-NMM forms?
Anyone seen this already? This is quite honestly shocking how good it is!
>>41571656so fucking close to true robomoonhorsewife
>>41571656Wow, that actually is astounding. I can't believe how far AI video generation has come in such a short time. Only a few months ago they all looked like you were having a stroke. Very impressive.
>>41572926as someone who works with that - There is much more progress in corpo b2b ones, they're just used silently and demos aren't shared outside. The gap between public image of capabilities and the capabilities is smth like a year+

>>41571656I'm surprised someone liked my silly AI Moon pics to spend the credits on feeding one into hailuo. But seeing her animated this well is very special.
>>41575502Gorgeous. She is the most beautiful mare, like the galaxies themselves.
>>41447614This was my favourite pic in high school... I kept it as a wallpaper for my phone for the longest time.
>>41574692If China needs a willing space monkey to go to the moon as a test subject, I'm ready. I'll do it just so I can see Luna once, even if there's no return journey.
>>41576898commies are known to skip both >monkeysand>willingso try to find another way>>41576796That's cool to be able to save them. I had many but I've lost one specific from a phone. It was pure 2010 style wallpaper-edit mix of 2 arts, so I doubt it's searchable
