If you look at the insides of the two plates, you can see how torn up they got while I was working on it.

After the constant current power supply, I think its something like 0.05amps per square inch, Mix a bunch of distilled water with a jug of replacement car battery acid and let it anodize until the voltage changes a little. If its anodized too long then the surface becomes uneven and looks super crappy.After the anodizing, can dunk it in a bucket of dye for the color. Slowly dunk it and slowly pull it out to get a faded look, can do similar with multiple colors or use a spray bottle before dunking to get a splash look. Lots of neat little things to do to get a cool looking anodize.then finally seal the anodize by boiling it in water for a while. 10 minutes or so.

Once the front plate is on, the hand goes on the end of that arbor, so ultimately the motor controls the position of the hand. The gear ratios are all 1:1, so the angle of the motor corresponds directly to the angle of the arbor.
