But if you count ambient sections built around a drone note, a lot of bands have done that. since this is the KC general i'll post this herei just found out something that was bothering my autism for a long time.whenever i hear Starless (the central park '74 version) theres something that bothers me deeply and it's the fact that when the violin solo comes you dont hear a fucking violin at all and that kind of ruins a bit the monster the band was building up.for a time i thought that something stupid happened with the violin sound on that particular song or that maybe since the only recording available comes from a cassette bootleg the recorder couldnt capture the violin at all during that part of the song... but it turns out it was something delivered. I found out about it hearing the piece of shit version of Starless the band made available on the first disc of "the great deceiver" and when the violin solo is about to come... nothing. Only a small solo on the keyboard that kinda feels like the other members of the band wanted to ridicule Cross by making him play a solo on an instrument he doest master.the point is what the fuck we're they thinking, the violin solo (when everything else before was played right) is the point where you feel the song is crushing your bones from the intensity being presented and they fucking butchered it, on their final performance, on propuse.
