I relate to the neuroticism being common. I have a lot of hoarding and abuse in my family. We are far from the ocean but I've been to a couple of the great lakes, and the gulf of Mexico. Normal, settled people aren't drawn to that as much as strange people who want adventure, escape, expression, fame, or attention.Maybe with Florida it has to do with the dangerous, Australia-like environment.
