And with that we have reached the end of our journey going through the music of the 90s. What do you think of the year of our lord 1991? Personally even if there aren't too many masterpieces, I can't help but still love this year. This year is just full of great and interesting releases.1990: >>1229501151992: >>1228039971993: >>1228175951994: >>1228533921995: >>1227857311996: >>1228735851997: >>1228948551998: >>1229151871999: >>122931610
One of those special years
>>122967604underrated Banshee album.
Re-listened some of those records while doing my top and the first Biosphere release still sounds fantastic, definitely give it a listen if you're into minimal Techno and Ambient you won't be disappointed. Overall a slightly better year than 1990 for me , much more eclectic.

very very good yearbottom 2 rows reflect the fact that most of the years best and most innovative music wasn't released on albums, but there are way too many breakbeat and techno classics put on one chart
>>122967604Not so bad a year, not huge to me. I had Artistic Vice on my last chart, but turns out it came out this year.
>Loveless>Spiderland>Laughing Stock>Blue Lines>Gothic>NevermindI was born on a pretty good year.
Something about this year really was special - every quality release has this Autumnal vibe that was never really recaptured.Genuinely think that the 2000s should be looked at next.
Good year
>>122968636Fuck the 2000s
>>122967604Pretty respectable taste overall. Too bad you're probably a chart thread fag.
another sparse year, with out of time in the correct year now. we doing early 2000’s?
>>122968636I do appreciate that autumn basement feel the grunge era had. The back of Green Mind by Dinosaur Jr evokes that album's music more than the front to me. "There never reeeeally is a goood tiiiime...">>122969828That Pavement EP is looking nice
1991 wow>>122967604my 2nd favorite death
>>122970113i was gonna post that carcass album, and i completley forgot about ox bow's existance, really nice
>>122967604Plebs never know. First Allman Brothers Band record in over a decade and first with Warren Haynes was released. OH! WHEN I THINK ABOUT THE OLD DAYS...LORD ITS SEND A CHILL UP AND DOWN MY SPINEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5ygCRR97vw
>>122968875he's also a splatoon idolfag lel
>>122970348that fucker could sing
Mercury Rev - Yerself is Steam
>>122967604didn't we vote on a top 10 albums from each year in the 90s like 4 years ago but it feels like last year because I'm old so my perception of time is fucked up?
what was in the water this year?
>>122968875>>122971543literally what are the problems here?

>>122974306Nirvana is cool when you're 16 maybe, peoples taste evolves
>>122974333>>122974508You have to listen to classical or something to talk like this otherwise it's just hipster jerkoff copium
>>122967604Bump
>>122967604great year
>>122967676>>122977361Indeed.>>122967690You're right I haven't seen that one before. >>122967835Yeah that Biosphere album is pretty good. Doesn't hold a candle to Substrata but that is one of my favorite ambient albums of all time so that's a pretty high bar lol>>122968116You're right, it's a great decade for electronic releases not on albums as well. >>122968636>>122969828You're right. I should've gotten an autumn background for my chart, would've fit even better. I won't be doing anymore of these threads but if someone else will I'll gladly join them. I thought about doing the 80s but the 2000s would be fine too. >>122970113Yeah Human might be in my top 3 Death as well. It is hard to pick, I love all their albums except for the obvious last one. I really don't like that one. >>122973893I need to listen to Earwig.
Why was 1991 so special? There's something about it.
>>122974899based and woodface pilled
>>122978374It was the year that Billboard changed its chart methodology to use digital sales data and airplay trackers instead of just surveying retailers and radio programmers indirectly. It brought a whole new level of mainstream visibility to alt rock, rap and country as those and other formerly ghettoized genres were suddenly discovered to be selling in far greater quantities than once assumed.
>>122967604do early 2000's next
>see 1990 thread>not even a mention of Too Dark Park by Skinny Puppythe nerve to say it is a filler year...
>>122978601If the OP won't make it then somebody else should.
>>122974306Projection
>>1229786012000 and 2001 were cool, 2002 was okay, 2003 getting a lot rougher, 2004 music is dead
bump
>>122981954+1At least that means only 5 more threads
there's like 3 or 4 good albums from this year, not worth making a chart.
Kind of a top heavy year but not as much so as people say, definitely a lot of good stuff
>>122986942Also here is 1990 since I was banned while that thread was active. This year is not so great but I've been delving into it more and more lately trying to find the good shit
>>122986485I pity you
>>122974306you seem as whiny as Kurt
>>122967604buncha random garbage, congrats
