>I thought the idea of making an album was primarily to make music. If one is going to make make music, then one should be able to play one's instruments well enough to come up with something that remotely resembles a song. Black Sabbath could......quite well in fact. Led Zepplin, Deep Purple, Van Halen and many other heavy metal/hard rock acts could as well. You can make an angry song and still have it sound like a song. How about CCR's "Fortunate Son" for instance.

>This ain't music.

guy should listen to some nwobhm to get accustomed to chugging before going into thrash
>>
Sanitarium is hauntingly beautiful
The melodic break in Master of Puppets also
Then there's the lush soundscape of Orion
The incredible harmonic precision of the multitracked nylon strings introducing Battery

This album has so many moments of sheer musical beauty it doesn't even need to be pointed out, it's part of the reason why it's one of the most important albums of the last 50 years

No, RTL is excellent but Master surpasses it. It's still their best album.

KeA is better at being young and simple, MoP is better at being mature and complex

it really is fascinating to me how stupid most people are. our entire species has been carried by like the upper 10% of people who are actually smart.

People who say they like RTL and not MOP are posers. They're the same fucking style and virtually the same fucking album, you like one you like the other, which you like more is preference.

agreed
the black album may be the heavy metal thriller, but the songs on the black album aren't quite as good as the songs on this

Add Damage Inc. and Disposable to the list of genius moments. Two of the bands best songs literally ever.
