Anyone have any experience with Victoria amps? There’s a Deluxe Reverb clone built by them for sale locally for a good price and I’m tempted. I was looking at a local Mesa Boogie Mark II but I’m not that into high gain distortion style amps and I’m not sure how much I really like it’s clean channel compared to how much I love Fender amp cleans. I’ve been thinking about a hand wired Deluxe Reverb clone for a while and this Victoria seems right up my alley.

>>
>>127991934
I just want a hand wired Deluxe voiced amp that I can have easily serviced every 10-20 years so it’ll last for multiple lifetimes. I like the Fender Reissue amps but those are all PCB printed and when they go out they’re dead, that’ll take a while but when it happens that’s it. Modern hand wired clones made by reputable and experienced companies using quality materials are legit generational amps as long as they get basic upkeep, vintage amps too but there’s more to worry about with aging components. These Victoria amps are $3k new but regularly sub $2k used and this one is a very fair price. I had never heard of Victoria but the guy’s been building amps for 20 years and his work is highly praised
>>
>>127992054
go for it man there's no magic tone wood shit in an amp as long as you have the same circuit and part it's the same thing.

Jazzmaster race checking in. This guitar just keeps getting better, I have to give credit to Fender Mexico, I wouldn’t believe they made guitars this nice if I didn’t own it. Kinda crazy that their high end stuff like the Vinteras don’t match this level of quality. Makes me wonder if it’s the vintage spec they have trouble with or something.

For MIM Fender that is the high end. It’s the most expensive line. I own a few, but I’m saying the quality of my Noventa JM and this limited edish Player Strat are all around nicer than the V1 and V2 Vinteras I own. It may sound like a cope and I’m sure personal preference plays a part, but the Player 1 Strat in this pick is one of the best Strats I’ve ever laid hands on and blows out most MIA Fenders I’ve tried from recent years.

Should I sell my 2016 Camry and use the money to move to and rent a room in Nashville and try to make any living I can playing cover gigs. I can probably only get 10,000 out of it if I’m lucky.
>>
>>128000943
Like I can use part of that money to buy a cheap Mexican tele, a Les Paul and a helix stadium and just walk or take the bus to gigs. Nobody uses amps in Nashville anymore anyway. It’s actually required that you use house pa and in ears in Nashville due to noise ordinances now.
>>
>>128000757
neck carve is a big deal and is entirely personal preference but any guitar can be set up to play like a custom shop guitar, but apples to apples quality will never be there. construction quality barely matters on an electric guitar but it's a big deal on an acoustic, and i'm sure you got an uncommon case where a mim guitar was set up well but there's a certain feel to real hardwood with a nitro finish. it's hard to explain unless you've handled literally thousands of guitars but it's like a fiberglass hammer vs a well-worn oak hammer with a solid fitting head on it, they'll both drive nails but the oak handle will always feel right in the hand

I’m already so fucking broke I had to sell my guitar today to pay my car insurance and I can’t even afford to pay 300 dollars a month in bills. I don’t think it can get much worse than this. I’ve been playing for 30 years and can actually play well enough to cover almost anything and have great toan. There’s just zero opportunity to gig or earn money where I’m at. I’ve been told by several local guys that I have a special touch and sound they haven’t heard from guys around here. I’m not trying to brag I’m just saying I feel like if I’m in a place where musicians actually make money that I could compete with a lot of the higher level guys.
>>
>>128001423
Nashville does not have affordable housing anymore and youll still be looking at ~$300 a gig. The country ship has sailed unless you already have money

They actually have a national database tied to major insurance carriers, I’m with Allstate. And they can see it the instant you get your plate run. If you get tagged by an LPR car you’re fucked. Instant 500 dollar fine, massive insurance rate hikes, points on your license, car towed, also I’m not a nigger and I can’t afford to lose a 13,000 dollar car to a deer. I did what I had to do to pay my insurance.

Maybe I should just sell my car buy the cheapest shitbox I can, use the rest to buy a new helix stadium and new power cab, an inspired by epiphone custom shop les Paul, a used charvel, and try to make something here. Part of the problem is I don’t even have an amp or a way to gig right now even if I wanted to. I had a mesa mark 5 but my back and leg are too fucked to haul that pig up and down my staircase. At least if I had a shitbox I wouldn’t mind driving around these fucked up pot hole fucked streets delivering DoorDash in my spare time. Otherwise I have no idea how I’m gonna afford 6000 dollars in gear so I can actually gig or practice with local bands.

Carmax offer is 9000 dollars. I’ll see what the dealer says on Thursday when I go in for my oil change. If I could get 9-10000 for the car, and I could buy a shitbox for 2-3000 that would give me 7k to buy gear. 2k for guitars and 5k for a stadium / Powercab / in ear wireless pack, wireless guitar pack. That should be enough to practice with anyone or play shows anywhere.
>>
>>128002182
I want the full featured 2500 dollar stadium. I want to be able to just shove one unit in a backpack and maybe grab a 212 cab and a couple guitars and gig. I don’t want other pedals or expression pedals or a board. I have no interest in fussing with a bunch of nerdy stuff I just want to click a preset and play.

I could probably buy a used Gibson for around 2000 or I could get the inspired by epiphone for around 1400. The epiphone will sound better and have more features but idk maybe I should just Gibson.
>>
>>128002008
bro no one wants to listen to your self loathing, we all have problems. if you're gonna do that then hurry up
>>
>>128002199
Why blow your wad in one go? You should stash some of that money and take advantage of 0% interest financing. Guitar center runs promotions for 0% over 4 years regularly and that includes used gear as well. Not judging (I am) but if you're your only guitar to cover bills your first step needs to be changing your relationship with money, not selling a car for 5 figures and immediately spending it.

>>128002442
Yes. You keep doing things until they're easy. Over and over.
>>
>>128002442
yes. you should occasionally slow your playing down to almost nothing, close your eyes and focus on how it feels to move to whatever string your playing and pluck in a way that is effortless and extracts the most tone from the note. it sounds bullshit but it really works. it took me about 3 months of 2+ hour daily practice to get decent accuracy at 100 bpm 16th notes
>>
>>128002442

Speed isn't as important as accuracy. So go SLOW until you can do things accurately. Then and only then speed up.

But also try and do it by feel without using your eyes. Not kidding. I've even practiced in the dark before. At first it seems impossible and you'll mess up a lot. But eventually it clicks and striking the notes accurately just happens. It's not easy to play full songs in the dark but for chord changes and chord progressions it does.

Ever wonder how good guitarists can play by closing their eyes and seeming to be off in their own musical vibe? They just have muscle memory and can visualize their instrument and their fingers by touch...well, this is how you too can start to get that way. It just takes time, effort and practice...and a lot of fucking up.

Idk because I’ll never be able to afford a gigging rig ever again. I’ve never really ever been able to afford one. I have always been disabled and really haven’t had any way to work. I bought the car with an injury settlement used last year when I should have just invested it in pro music gear. I need a rig I can practice on as if it’s live with headphones at home and loud enough to play with a band for practice. If I had that maybe I could actually go out and meet new people and friends and get known in the local music scene. I’m ok with having a shitbox car and being able to pursue something I’m passionate about. They always say pursue your passions and you will eventually find success.
