I paid $200 genius. With the original speaker cabinet, three shitty practice amps and a box of cables, i’m not exactly rich and I’m not like most suckers, I prowl for deals, I’ve got sensors like a platypus or a hammerhead shark, my deal sensors.

And so far I have been playing acoustic, my 1971 Martin 000-18 that I paid $100 for >:3

Now I just got to wait for a worthy electric guitar to fall into my hands, maybe I’ll get impatient and save up for one though.

Forgive me for using the seller’s shitty picture.

i played the bass here on my fender. everything else i played also on my keyboard using vsts. i should really learn how to mix cause i think a lot of the things are too loud but idk how to get it right besides turning things up or down.
>>
>>129254771
it starts with the musician actually balancing their eq before recording.
>>
I want a butterscotch telecaster
>>
>>129254832
i have no idea how to do that. i just hit record and play. how did u learn
>>
>>129251984
Brother if you have $220 to spend for a pre recorded online course, just go out and find a teacher for in person lessons.
>>
>>129254869
on your amp. balance your settings, mid, treble, bass, ect. no idea on the keyboard. Its a balancing act and one of the hardest things to do for bands. The part they dont tell you.
>>
>>129254886
$220 will get you like two months in person, not a year
>>
>>129254891
in person lessons are miles better than online. You can probably learn more self teaching with random youtube videos or seeing a irl player than doing online courses.
>>
lessons are a scam you are still doing all the learning on your own, just figure out what you want to play and look at free shit.
>>
>>129254891
Even then, you won't fully grasp everything you're taught in those 2 months. You can spend weeks or even months after a lesson or two before what you learn really clicks. If your income is so limited, take lessons sparingly. You can even be upfront with your teacher so they can accommodate you by gearing you up with exercises and resources to practice on your own time.
>>
>>129254928
speak for yourself, i've already mastered what I learned in my previous lesson and expanded beyond it by the time my next lesson rolls around
>>
>>129254771
I actually like it. bring the percussion down a tad and add some mids back into the bass
>>
>>129254928
Yep. Need a teacher. Worse case scenario you buy Rick Beato's courshe when it's $100
>>
>>129255014
or just self teach. Some of the greatest guitarists were self taught. Requires talent though which i admit not everyone who plays possesses. Imagine what the old players would have been if they got spoiled with youtube.
>>
>>129254989

>Imagine what the old players would have been if they got spoiled with youtube
Hasn't YouTube and social media as a whole create the bed room musician meme? Self taught players back then may not have had as much resources, but that forced them to interact with their local community if they wanted to get anywhere. Now it's the norm to stare at a screen and grind away without developing alongside other musicians. For jam culture, I feel like that's hindered musicianship more than anything.
>>
>>129255030
I'm self taught. Wish I had Rick Beato's course back and some of these modern youtubers in the 80s. I read a few books from the library, but that is it.

Who the hell do you think you are? Your a no talent. You wanna be a journalist? Go to a local news channel and write. I graduated middle of my class a full sail university online. 2.5 gpa at University of Arizona woman's studies. Just because you got that little iPad doesn't mean you can write. Your glib. And I've earned my right to say that. Ok? I walked Gary Busey onstage at redrocks comedy festival 1996. And related tangent:

A 50w amp with a cab sim is ideal. It doesn't make sense to use a low-wattage amp for playing at home, and a different high-wattage amp for rehearsal and shows. You'd have to have completely different settings on all your shit and it will sound completely different. A cab sim lets you at least approximate what your amp is going to sound like live.
>>
>>129259465
They’d be so light and happy if she’d come around but I freaked her out.
>>
>>129260243
there’s no one size fits all amp for every venue. At some point you will need a second device probably a modeler or preamp pedal for running into a pa or practice
>>
https://voca.ro/19ZHaKtSk6Fp
>>
>>129260398
That's what the attenuator is for. If the venue is too small, knock it down. If the venue is too big, you can afford to buy another amp.
>>
>>129260471
was this supposed to disprove the point that your amp is sized correctly and now it sounds worse than the same circuit in a smaller wattage because of the attenuator which also costs the same as a smaller amp

Buying a different amp to play in a smaller venue is retarded. Attenuating the amp, keeping all your same settings and same gear, is a better trade off than using an entirely different amp and fucking your sound that way. If you think attenuating is shit, then you need to have a better alternative.
>>
>>129260614
Thanks. Found this amp at a pawn shop knowing absolutely nothing about it, they didn't know it was a tube amp so I got it for a crazy price. (they thought it was broken because they weren't letting it warm up. Seriously it only takes like 30 seconds, but they were just clicking it on and when it wasn't making any sound clicking it off)
>>129260625
Thanks based BBA. I used to have a huge pedal board when I was a teenager, but I threw together this tiny one on purpose to limit myself. Limitation breeds creativity, and hiding behind pedals only mimics creativity. Each one has a specific use, too, though I'm still wondering if it's even worth it to use the compressor.
>>129260655
The Blues Driver isn't much of an OD, desu, it gives crunch for my "clean" tone, and the Super Overdrive adds the real OD overtop of it. Look up the two of them together - they're designed to work in tandem, and they work really well.
It's a classic combo and people've been using it since the 90s. The Pillows use that combo a ton, and they may not be the most talented or technical guitarists, but they're my guilty pleasure.
>>
>>129260689

they're guitar idols of mine. they're more songwriters than virtuoso players but they're really well composed
>>
>>129260689

>>
>>129260765

>>
>>129260794
maybe, but from what I know the people that run tubescreamers into oranges are metalheads that are trying to tame their low end. i don't know what the tubescreamer is doing in this case but if it sounds good it sounds good i guess

The Pillows are basically defined by the Blues Driver. I think the muff and tube screamer get limited use during solos and particular riffs
