What is this shit? I found it on Amazon. What's this useful for? You can't attach strings to it, there's no headstock, but there's no special nut which lets you fix the strings for a headless option.

this goes for the SG or any other guitar. dial in your neck pickup sound first, then use your bridge tone pickup to adjust to taste. if you prioritize your bridge pickup with the tone maxed, your neck will probably get muddy
>>
>>129719092
>use your bridge tone pickup
i had a stroke, bridge pickup tone knob
>>
>>129718793
Ever heard of a thing called “tape” retard?
>>
>dial in middle position
>never leave unless i have to
>>
before outright buying a new pickup you should at least fiddle with your pickup height. the new pickup might be just as muddy because the pickup height isn't where you want it
>>
unless you have a squier or an epiphone (or worse), stock pickups are perfectly adequate
>>
for less than the cost of a new pickup, you could buy a string gauge and a screw driver, which you will enjoy much more

Thoughts on a 1980s made in Japan Squier Strat? Red body with no pickguard from the factory, two humbuckers, regular Strat tremolo, one switch one volume one tone, medium jumbo frets on a rosewood fret board, black headstock, $450 local. Aren’t Japan Squiers from the 80s supposed to be pretty good?

I have an 80s MIJ Squier Bullet and it's made out of plywood.... It's kind of shit overall desu but the neck is really nice, just as good as other MIJ fenders from that era. MIJ squiers seem like the thing that poorfags severely overrate and over the years it has given them undeserved value and reputation. I would save for something better honestly.

I do like how the metal zone sounds out of my amp but it's a little much for the di recordings, what should i replace the metal zone and the hyperfuzz with? I kind of want to make my board all BOSS in the future. might want one of these>>129720363 or an OD-3. I have an os-2 and a bd-2 but neither is in use.

I just can't get a satisfying mix with my backing tracks. It sounds kinda bad and not immersive when I'm playing along to it. I just want to feel like I have a band. Here's for example Youth of the Nation by POD.

Remove all the plugins, adjust the levels, then add eq to each track (use a neve 3 band or similar), then compression (Fairchild for percussion, la2a for piano/melodic instruments, 1176 for guitar). Very simple. If you can’t get a good mix with levels, basic eq, and basic compression, you don’t know what you’re doing.
>>
>>129720807
Oh yeah and pan everything obviously do that when you’re adjusting the levels. To reiterate, 3 step process:

1. Levels/panning
2. Eq
3. Compression.

Then if you wanna get groovy throw some tape emulation on your master.

sounds to me like to vocals and your guitar are both competing for lead. what you are playing is not appropriate for lead. mix your guitar WAY down so it sits behind the vocals. this isn't a good backing track if you want your playing to be the focus

>>
>>129720829
>>129720807
But I just have a guitar, drums, bass and vocals, so adjusting the levels should be easy. For my guitar, I add a high pass filter above 150Hz, I don't really EQ the other tracks, since they shouldn't compete that much. I only have compression on my guitar sometimes.

>>129721023
I'm gonna give it a try.
>you want your playing to be the focus
Not really. I just want it to sound like I'm playing along an actual band. I've learned to accept that it can't sound like the album recordings. But sometimes it doesn't even sound like a live recording.
>>
>>129721233
Taiwan white knobs don't compare to the black and green label nip ones though. If we talking strictly waza, CE1 and CE2 both better than waza chorus.

if you are going for the bd-2 get the angry driver instead. You get the bd2 plus an extra jhs pedal in one

also he plays keys now he couldn't escape the pentatonic boxes no matter how hard he practiced so he moved instruments and is now playing the pentatonic boxes on keys instead.

Nta but I was looking at cheap Jacksons to replace my dying Strat, and ended up picking up the Jet Streamliner model with 2 twin six pickups. It's a fantastic guitar but very bluesy. The only thing I can complain about is the bridge, not a fan of Gibson styles. I was thinking of replacing the bridge pickup with something more suited to metal and keep the neck pickup so I can swap for cleaner tones. Am I on to something or does that sound like a terrible idea? A cheap Jackson would cost similar to a new pickup but don't want to hoarde too many guitars.
I'll probably get roasted for this but I have an Ibanez Gio and the stock pickups in that are pretty close to what I'm looking for. Might have lucked out but it's been a really solid guitar with no issues, whereas my Strat has a new problem every time I pick it up.

Gretsches are cool but I need something with a 25.5 scale and flatter radius. 24 frets would also be preferred. I'm looking at the Ibanez s521 at the moment though I'm also eyeing the rgs in that price range too. Whichever is more comfortable while standing is the one I'd go for.

My acoustic is too loud to practice on. It'll blow the windows out because it's a Yamaha with ARE (acoustic resonance enhancement) on the tonewood. My semi-hollow on the other hand has much lower action, better fret access and can be played at all hours, it speaks but doesn't shout.

The detective pushed through the door of his private office, the hinges giving a tired groan like they’d seen too much and said too little. The room greeted him the way it always did dim, stale, and thick with yesterday’s regrets. Waiting on his desk was a neat spread of fresh trouble: case files, loose leads, and the kind of paperwork that never brought good news. His secretary had been in already efficient as ever, leaving the mess organized just enough to look respectable.
He shrugged off his coat and let it hang wherever it pleased, then drifted over to the desk like a man with nowhere better to be. The city’s noise seeped in through the blinds in thin, tired stripes. He poured himself a finger of good bourbon too good for a night like this and let it sit on his tongue a moment before swallowing. A cigar followed, lit slow and deliberate, the ember glowing like a warning he wasn’t planning to heed.
He flipped open the first file, eyes scanning, mind already piecing together the angles. Another case, another story that didn’t want to be told. Smoke curled into the lamplight, bourbon warmed his chest, and somewhere between the lines of ink and paper, the night started whispering its secrets.

grease is an anti wear lubricant not a friction modifier. just replace your nut with a self lubricating tusq if your guitar has that much instability
>>
>>129729849
Just a little binding when tuning, slots already seem wide enough. Damn I heard that you could use that grease in a pinch. Well sheeeit guess I'm just gonna order the big bends nut sauce and wait a couple days to put these strings on

this shit works. I use it on every guitar whether it needs it or not. you get the pinging nut binding sound, put this shit on. it's like 10 dollars and the tube i have i've had since 2021. don't be a dumbass

>>129729976
you could buy hexagonal boron nitride, it’s basically graphite but white. I prefer dry lubricants for things that don’t have a very hard service life because they have lower drag. if it’s was something like an axle in a car you’d use a liquid lubricant for the longer service life and just deal with the increased resistance
