So is rosewood the best wood for guitars or is it something else?
>>
>>129774617
I’m assuming you’re talking about electric guitars since this is the Luddite general, in which case wood doesn’t matter outside of weight and strength
>>
when the classic vibes first came out they were about $500 australian. i thought that was expensive for a squier at the time. now they are $850. the jaguars are $999

also keep in mind that i bought a brand new MIM fender blacktop strat for $600 including shipping from the US around 2011 when AUD was stronger than USD

COVID ruined everything

Half steps and major 7ths are more dissonant than tritones?
>>
>>129775107
technically (mathematically) yes but they don’t feel as bad because your brain is already anticipating the resolution. also dissonance decreases overall as you move farther away from the true root so if you play the Bb in the same octave as C it will sound more dissonant than the D but if you play it an octave higher while keeping the D in the same octave it should feel much less dissonant perhaps even less so than the D
>>
>>129775119
btw to see true dissonance play the notes together. R/Maj7 always sounds worse than R/Tritone. if you play them separately it’s not as noticeable for reasons

Trombone is a good instrument to learn on, though I miss hugging a big brass euphonium/baritone horn.

I love when guitarists are like, “where’s the G on x string?”. It’s like, ni/gg/a, where on this long tube as long as your arm is ANYTHING?! And you have to buzz your lips and your lips blow out after 30 mins.
>muh little fingeeessss owiieeee
MY FACE IS LITERALLY VIBRATING AND THE AIR I BREATHE HAS TO BE RATIONED
>wahhhhh i cant alternate pick
You have to do alternating tonguing exercises - “tuga duga” for 16th notes, triplets are like “tugada”
>muh warm up exercises
You literally have to warm up the instrument for it to play in tune. Now march in step and memorize 15 minutes of music and all calls.
>uoure giddamn right I’d stare at those sweet colorguard cheeks up ahead of us

>>129775322
Agreed, and your face gets really red because you have to exhale excess air while maintaining obscene air pressure.

When I switched to bass guitar to play in jazz ensembles, it was a relief. I literally got a bass in June and was doing walking bass by August. Comparatively for guitarists, try singing all the triplets notes on this banger of a tune (starts at :40, right channel):

First lesson over was really helpful. Teacher was able to re write the duster tab for me so I could have an easier time with it. Also gave me some shapes to practice. For the major and minor scale I originally was using the shape I saw on the guitar scale website. However he said that way is gay and learning this way was better. Thankfully it's just the shape I use on bass already so nothing really to learn there. I do need to learn my pentatonic scales though.

Here’s a more direct and cleaner version:

The comment “oh this guy is far gone” doesn’t actually prove anything—it’s just a dismissive reaction with no real argument behind it. It avoids engaging with the topic and instead shuts down discussion.

ChatGPT is a tool designed to be useful in practical ways. It can explain complex ideas in simpler terms, help structure thoughts, assist with writing, and provide quick access to general knowledge. It’s especially helpful for breaking down topics, checking understanding, or exploring different viewpoints without needing to search through multiple sources.

Its value isn’t about replacing thinking—it’s about supporting it. When used properly, it helps people learn faster, communicate more clearly, and work through problems more efficiently. Writing it off entirely ignores those uses and doesn’t really address what the tool actually does.

When did I say roommates? I rent houses by myself because I like to rip guitar solos at 3am and smoke weed in my kitchen.

Money gives you freedom, but I’m just getting out of limbo after setting up a lawsuit for uninhabitable conditions (hence the hotels, which I’m seeking full reimbursement and there’s a potential jury trial due to landlord’s actions).

I had to sell some instruments that would die in my storage unit (baglama saz, oud, Aria 12-string), but it’s just onward to arthoes. After I confirm the home inspection by the main county within the shitty city I lived in, then I can head East town by town to purchase my down payment via FHA for my New England arthoe harem.
