I just just witnessed the kind of public spaghetti dropping I fear when I'm on bike.

It was while filling up my YBR after work. There was a guy on a MT-9 with a colour matched Patronas motoGP replica helmet and leathers. When he went to start it it wouldn't turn over so he went to kickstart it and couldn't so he walked it off the pump at the completely full forecourt and kept trying to start it but couldn't (he eventually did after like 10 minutes). I thought about going over to help but I realised that if I actually succeeded having someone half your age on a 125cc bike kickstart your bike for you would only make things more embarrassing and I might as well give him a gun to shoot himself at that point

MT-09 yes I was confused since I couldn't find a an obvious kickstarter on an MT-09 in pics. Maybe it was another MT like an MT-07 since it had the profile and the goofy coloured wheels.

Ok here's the story for you DBT, pls reply.

So I know a girl, and she knows a guy, who ran over a motorcyclist while being drunk. She keeps saying it wasn't his fault because he didn't know it would happen. He still drives a car without his licence anyway, because he has no choice.
She said he's a nice guy because he has friends who also ride and it was just an accident and he didn't do nufin.
When I told her not to chat with that retard anymore, she said she can't because he's her old friend from school or something like that.
So I told her she's fucking stupid and delusional and drunk drivers are a treat to everyone, including her.
In the 90's her own dad almost lost his life because of a drunk driver. And still she was ok with it no matter what. So she asked me why should she end their friendship it won't change anything and yada yada yada.
I told her it's over for us then and never texted her again. She was kinda sad about it but never tried to stop me or make an agreement. Our mutual friends used to say she liked me and she never had anything with that other guy, but I guess she made her choice.

Should I ask her if she changed her mind now? Or maybe her fucking retard friend died already?

I mean: "tell me who your friends are, and I will tell you what you are", right? BTW: You are my friends guys.

11k miles in 4 years. Cost $1,600. I wrecked it like 4 times. It's been a good bike, but it's not a highway capable dual sporp. Fastest I ever got it was 72, flat road and no wind. I'm like 185. It was never difficult to find parts because they're all universal parts from various websites. I'd buy one again. But hopefully I'll be the owner of an sv650 in 2 weeks.

Going through my bikes history, about two years ago the guy brought the bike in for investigation of an F1 error and the dealer fitted a servo eliminator. What's that all about? God I love it when previous owners keep every fucking reciept.

Depends of your budget, but usually get a used bike that is on good condition around 400cc or less, up to 750cc if its a V-twin cruiser, but I don't think those are good as a starter. Usually either a dual sport or naked is the way to go, depends of how the roads are in your area, and if you're a poorfag or just want a commuting bike, a 125 to 200cc will do and have good mileage per gallon.
Just don't go for a 4 cylinder bike, that a league of its own and you will need some experience to get used to them, a rookie will certainly crash with them instantly vs one with a single cylinder, where usually you will have more trouble getting accustomed to slow speed turns and such.
Try to stick to looking for a jap bike, sometimes you can find the rarities like a woman selling them with very low mileage and maybe a scratch or so, but with very good prices, those usually sell them because they barely ride and/or got scared, also ALWAYS negotiate the price hard and learn some mechanics about the bike you're interested to get. One time I got a Suzuki GSX 150 with around 4K miles for 500usd because the velocimeter needed "replacement", yet it was just a dirty connector, cleaned that up, got a new cheap battery for it just in case, and the bike was good to go, was a good gift for my niece!

I love these little nips like you wouldn't believe. I prefer the 350 of the twins even though they all sound like sewing machines!!
>>
>>27760515
You're half right. The 650 was designed to be a 750 but due to licencing legislation in most markets they down bored it to 650. I did watch the Hitchcock video again for the numbers and they also did a full exhaust change and cam change and it came to 64hp at the wheel ( Power loss is normally 10% from the crank to the wheel so its hp should be around 70ish).
>>
>>27760557
Closest thing for a newbie would be an R15 if you want that look. R3 could work, but you would at least have to do the MSF class first. I would pick a KTM RC 200, heck even maybe a CFMoto 300SRS since they actually make most of KTM stuff, specially the engines, only downside with chink/curry brands is that sometimes you dont find spare parts and resale value goes rock bottom, even if theres cases like a Honda 125 Twister and a Hero bike being the exact fucking same.
>>27760570
Only if you become a high rank criminal, which also applies to "non-shithole" countries too.

Sure, just get a marketable skill and move to a 1st world country. Most of them give tons of concessions if your skin is brown and you're not a criminal. A Poo friend tells me that even living with 3 roommates and surviving off of almost minimum wage + government handouts his qol has improved thousandfold compared to when he lived in Kerala.
>>
>>27760576
It's not! It has big big low down twin power and it's fun to ride, CP2 bikus are the most popular in the world for a reason. And you can chose any biku you like with that engine - from scramblre to ADV - very based. I just wish Yamaha had more bike and never discontinued the R1 and the R6. But I believe in my team, go Team Blue, goooooo!

I'm giving reasonable advice that will assist most people. if you're built different then buy the dream bike immediately and ride. calm down tard. the only part I will call you out on is the insurance thing because noobs buying liter bikes and then totally it in a month is exactly why insurance rates are high. fixing things costs money and the bike won't be original, if it's their dream bike those things might matter to them while they don't to you. but you can't see things from anyone else's perspective or you wouldn't be having an autism fit on 4chan over reasonable advice
>>
>>27760741
Apply quality anti-seize to all exhaust threads and your future maintenance will go easy. Avoid the water shit at most auto stores. Bikes don't get hot enough to require nickel so I mostly use Jet Lube or other thicc copper anti-seize depending which tub is nearest. Fun fact, milk of magnesia is legit jet engine hot section anti-seize (I've read the GEK but failed to take a pic) and works well if nothing else is handy.
>>
>>27760799
Yes, light weight is cool too. A G310 is 180 kgs, a s1000rr is 205kg or so. Light weight is very cool to. R7 is not.
>>
>>27760787
Find a patient lift AKA Hoyer lift on Fecesbook Marketplace. I give 150 for mine (I have two). They're insanely handy for shit like that. If you don't want to wait and can't find one buy a folding engine hoist from Harbor Freight and a four pack of friction-lock tiedown straps (ratchets suck). Hoist bike using straps as soft slings. Everyone needs lifting gear and you just found out why. Lifting by strap is safe and stable vs. jacking which begs for violent smashing of tender motorcycle parts.

180 kg sound heavy for a G310 and sure the R7 is not as lightweight as for eg. a 90's GSX-R 750. But apparently is also a "budget" bike? So they probably skimped on the lightweight aspect.
The s1000rr will probably be too overpowered and heavy for twisties riding and too boring for legal highway speeds - this is my point. I can say the same about the R7, there are better bikes in my opinion.

What is the easiest, most simple, bare bones, motorcycle to maintain.
>>
>>27760225
My best friend from high school had a friend get killed by a serial drunk driver when they were out riding bikes together. Some dude with enough money and local connections to get away with it more than once. It looked like the drunkie was going to get away with it again, so he went to the guy's house, knocked on his door, and shot him dead right there. The cops never had enough evidence to charge him, but several years later he apparently had a literal come-to-Jesus moment and walked into a police station and confessed. He's in for life with no possibility of parole now. I never learned about it until I read the article where he had turned himself in.

Anyone else find themselves getting more skilled and thus riding more and more aggressively and assholish that it kinda scares you? Like today I stopped for a pedestrian at the crosswalk but just swerved past another one just down the street because I couldn't care less and I can just easily just time it and go around them like I do sometimes as a pedestrian.

So there are two general danger zones where people end their own lives through misadventure: inexperience and complacency. You avoided dying during your inexperienced phase and now you are confident, but the caution you learned is starting to slip. You are in danger of entering the complacency danger zone. Just don't forget not to die and you'll be OK.

What's the best bike for someone with a tiny weenie?
>>
>>27761052
>is this legit? I just need to keep going?
if the master cyl isnt purged you will NEVER be able to build line pressure. If the master cyl is purged, its a 5 minute job max to swap fluid.

couldn't find info in that amount of time, but I'm starting to get some feeling back in the lever. seemingly out of nowhere, all I've done is keep going and tapped the line with a screwdriver as suggested elsewhere.

It's a bit difficult for me to get a good before and after going since the pic on the left is the only pic I had of the gloves before wetting but you can see that they clearly dried into the shape of my hands and are pre-curled now
Surprised how well it came out very happy with it

It pissed fuel everywhere for the few seconds it was tipped over on its right side. I could try tipping it left to see if it also spills out that way. It's a 40 year old dual-carb two stroke so idk. No harm in trying I guess

you sure you diddnt pay someone to pop that in for you? why would you suggest he "keep pumping" when he admitted to being on hour 2 of pumping and the entire system is like 200ml
>>
>>27760990

Go for it. My goal is to save up and buy a cheap supermoto next summer as a second bike.

Partly to have something light and fun to beat on. But also want to do cheap cart track days. I'll probably look for an all ready built DRZ SM or something. I have no illusions of getting as good as that video. But I can at least have fun drifting and jumping.
>>
>>27761140
Replacing fork oil is mad work. I would do it once every 5 years probably.

I just got the 997 this year and I can't fit anything else in the garage. My collection is kind of complete, but one bike I'd desperately love to have is a Bimota Tesi 3D or a DB7.

R7 is only 188kg wet
>>
>>27761119
I wish they wouldn't, faggler
>>
>>27760761
By that logic the R7 is a better bike. The SV650S did not come with very good suspension stock, and is functionally identical.
>>
>>27760971
They made these things for 12 years. Aftermarket support is starting to dry up, namely FMF pipes, but you can find pretty much everything else. Aside from the motor, frame, and swingarm, they are very much parts bin bikes from the YZs of the early 2000s, so running gear parts are not at all hard to find. Make sure to use the updated chain slack spec and keep an eye on the chain slider, especially on the bottom of the swingarm.
>>
>>27761261
What issues does a worn swingarm chain slider cause?
>>
>>27761256
Should be 178 imo
>>
>>27761292
Well, when it wears through, the chain is now eating the swingarm instead of the sacrificial slider. Get a Sandman Case Saver ASAP if it doesn't have one, #1 ESSENTIAL modification.

It would be easy if the forks had a drain on the bottom and a filler cap on the top, and took oil in a measurement of mL. But instead you have to take them out, disassemble them, invert them, pump them until the oil comes out, then re-insert the oil using a damn ruler. It takes at least 2 hours and makes a huge mess.

Grease is not anti-seize but is slightly better than nothing. It will run out of exhaust stud threads as they get rather warm.

What kind of anti-seize do you recommend for older jap bikes? Aluminium parts with old plated (?) screws
