My roommate said I can just have this old CB750, I just have to fix it up if I want to even consider riding it. It's been parked in a dry garage for like 10 years and it "ran when parked". It seems like it's in pretty decent shape but there's obvious stuff that needs to be done like tires, brakes, wiring, replacing seals, servicing the forks, etc. but where should I start to just bring the engine back to life?I don't know much about bikes, never even ridden one and I've never had a project vehicle like this before. I've always thought these old CBs were sick and I couldn't be happier that I have one now but it's a bit intimidating to look at at the moment.

I would start by taking the spark plugs out, squirting some oil/ATF into each cylinder and let it sit overnight to let the rings soak. crank it without the sparkplugs in it to get whatevers left of the oil out, it'll smoke for awhile once you do get it running, but its fine.carbs will definitely have to be rebuilt. drain and flush out the gas tank and look inside for rust. if it looks really bad in there por15 sells a gas tank restoration kit

Just pulled my bettery off the tender and it's over 13. Is this normal? I'm trying to decide if I should bring it to the store for testing and possibly get a new ones if it's still under warranty. I'm only concerned about it because after my stator/regulators wires melted and I ghetto spliced the together it wouldnt keep a charge after. If I shut the bike off it couldn't start without a boost. this might sound retarded but do old bikes usually have park lights? i.e having your brake light be always on when your kickstand is down? because the TZR has front and back park lights (an orange bulb in the headlight) activated by the kickstand sensor based on the wiring diagram but a previous owner had snipped them to have a more conventional set up. combined with not having daytime running lights its kind of a weird set up.
