Bruh, compare it to CB300R, CBR250R, Suzuki Gixxer 250 and so on. They all make around 30 to 40 weak horses. Leave KTM out because they don't make bikes that last. You can't compare 2strokes with 4 stroke. At sometime, 2 stroke 500s were allowed to race 4 stroke 1000s on the same track. I do need a new bike, this ones got 25k kms on it.

Here is the race version where they squeezed 50 horses out of the same bike.

its unfair to compare a 2 stroke and a 4 stroke at the same displacement. No amount of fuel injection can change the fact that 2 strokes have twice the power strokes of a 4 stroke. an RD250 learner bike from the dark ages of humanity (the early 1970s) had 25 hp. The TZR-250 which had all the tech that 1980s Japan could devise was factory restricted to 45 hp and could get more like 50-60 easily.

There's also the fact that emissions on old 2Ts are just listed as "yes" while a modern bike has to comply with very strict Euro 5 emissions regs

They're all high school girls, which means at least 16 in Japan, and 16 is the legal age of consent there. 16 was pretty normal in the US until attitudes started changing in the 1950s. As women's lib advanced politically the social acceptability shifted, but here is a recent age of consent map for the US. Ask yourself how hard you want to clutch ypur pearls about cartoon girls when 16 was considered normal for marrying for centuries. You're not an angry feminist are you? Anyone know how much a shop (and what kind of shop) would make 2 blanking plates for these P.A.I.R system ports?
They bolt to the engine (just under the exhaust).
It would literally just be a ~2mm steel plate with two holes for the bolts to block off the hole in the engine.

I’m a sport touring/ adv guy but I’m getting into off roading since my kids are way too young to ride on the street. Had a fun afternoon with my boys at a rail trail that allows dirt bikes and atvs. It was a nice easy intro into off roading for them and the first time they’ve been off the property on their bikes. I grew up too close to a major city so off roading wasn’t an option.

Went up mount washington. It was piss easy to ride up and down. Literally just used engine braking the whole way down. I have Gotten almost 6000 miles since I got this in October. It would probably be at least double if I had not busted my knee in January on my E-bike and took until May to ride again. I want to do more cross country stuff. I'm just waiting on my luggage, but ShadUSA sucks and I had to just order the shad58x top box from an ebay seller in Europe. I want to upgrade to the s1000xr since I just don't do any offroad as I live in boston.

What bike should I collect next, and why? I'm thinking about something plush because none of my bikes are really couchlike. So maybe an Indian Chief. I also have room for a modern supersport, and I'd like to be the first guy on the block with an R9. Another thing that piques my interest is a trail 125.

It's cool, low maintenaince, and sounds wonderful.
Oh, and torque, Murica, and that picture has a semi-custom build bike. Titan was a pretty good brand, and it has dual disks up front+ nice chrome wheels.
Something like that with an evo engine can be found for 5-8k, or you can get a twin cam(newer) for a similar price.

It's like all bikes, ride one and see. I don't like adv bikes, even though I have a 34.5in inseam so I can somewhat handle them height wise. Just found it too squishy, reminded me of SUV's, and my scooter that I had.
Also didn't like the engine.

Someone may not like sportbikes due to position, or nakeds due to wind blast.

No western bulbs fit anywhere in the Izh, rear bulbs maybe.
I had to swap the whole headlight pan for a gella whatever it was again that had a H4 socket, it fits perfectly in soviet bikes, only difference being that the Hella light is flat faced while soviets are convex.

As for the bulbs, you cut a piece of copper pipe to size, flare out one end and put a regular western bulb inside, the copper pipe is like a shell for the light.
That's at least Ural people did to get old G424 generators to charge as they need the idiot light for excitement to start charging.

For the clutches, I just mixed and matched a stack of ok condition ones from old spare disks I had and threw them in.
One of them has a cracked tooth and one is snapped, but they still grip so I don't give a shit.
I'm currently trying to get metallic clutch plates instead of this plastic bullshit.

BA9s fits at least to the speedometer light bulb socket. I have changed the rear light sockets to western type.

Thanks, I have to make the bulb.

I thought there was just something with the semi-automatic clutch. I needed to place washers between the right engine cover and the clutch operating lever assembly to get the clutch work since the clutch adjusting screw wasn't long enough to reach the clutch operating rod.

If you think Toyota Corolla and VW Passat look good, then R7 looks good. R7 is the equivalent of rolling boxy white refrigerator.
>>
>>27774454
Oh you mean the headlights, I thought you meant the charge and neutral lights which are these small tube lights.
Also doesn't help that the Izh till 4th series was 6V.
Headlights had some P code, I have this faint memory of them being P18 or P20 something, they're tractor lights sold for tractor buckets. 6V to boot, the Philips Duplo if memory serves "fits", but it's not a perfect fit.
Specifically the BA9s should have that copper pipe contraption to fit the original holder, at least in the Urals. Previous owner had completely gutted the headlight of mine so I made my own bulb holders.

And yeah, for some reason my semi-automatic clutch stopped working, I think it's because the washers under the shifter selector ratchet are worn or missing, so the whole shaft has a lot of play, thus not reaching the auto-clutch lever in the dynamo/chain cover.
I might have to check the cover too as I've noticed that some of them have a shorter "bridge" for the mechanism, so it doesn't reach the rod when used in semi auto, only when you use the clutch handle.

>>

I meant the charge and neutral lights but as you told nothing fits, I started from those lights that fit. The original headlight is FG-38G.

Originally there should only be one thin washer made of seal material between the semi-automatic clutch ratchet and the engine block. According to the book, the semi-automatic clutch should be adjusted first and then the hand lever. In my case, the clutch operating wire was too long to work without the washers in the dynamo cover. I think the adjustment screw was warn out, since roughly 1mm washers were enough to fix both the semi-auto and the hand clutch at the same time.

Bro, do you ask your sister/mom to buy hairspray for you? How does it work? Also, how long is the hairspray effective for?

They do, and getting out of your leathers becomes a dozen times easier.

>INT650 any good?
I love it, but it doesn't have performance or ergonomics like modern bikes. It's objectively outclassed for every task by one of my other bikes. I find myself not riding it very much compared to the other bikes even though I have a strong emotional attachment to it, and I love the look, feel, and sound. It's very comfortable and relaxed for short trips and I usually hop on it when I feel like mixing things up. I feel bad for not riding it enough though, I want to sell it because I think it feels sad to not get enough exercise. One thing I like about it is that everywhere you park it, you're guaranteed to get old timers coming out and talking to you.

The mesh cools somewhat but when I stop at the lights I heat up and then I sweat and don't cool enough after light turns green. Do you have a Dainese Tech Dry LS? Think it would help in this situation?

Brehs, I have to compare my scoot to my baiku. I can ride my scoot pretty irresponsibly, it turns like no other, the bar input it so less. If I have to perform the same maneuvers on my sport bike, I feel like I'm hooning and being a nuisance on the road. Also, I can't hamfist my sport bike which sucks. The bike is just better at most things, but I miss the scoots agility sometimes.

I spoke about scoots, hairspray, compression shorts and shaving in the same thread. I don't like where this is going.

I'm buying a motorcycle for touring and road riding and tested a Bandit last week, it was fucking amazing. But I'm kind of wary because it's a 12 year old bike. Last couple of days I tested some new bikes I can get for a similar price like the Mt03, kawa vulcan, z650, RE interceptor. Honda didn't have the cb650 available and the triumphs and bmws are a lot more expensive. But none of them made me feel like the bandit. I felt like a cyborg, like a demigod hurling forward with the roar of the four cylinders and the heat of the engine on my legs and just the smoothness of the pull and the sheer weight and size of the bike is just imposing and I was laughing like the joker all the time. Am I stupid for buying this bike? Should I get a reasonable new one instead? P

that's the fun of a smol bike/scooter. Genuinely I don't think even a fireblade could match the sense of insane speed and impending death I had at barely 16 head down on a 2 stroke scooter with tiny tiny wheels trying to slipstream and pass a bunch of Amazon trucks on a 50 mph speed limit road.

Also I feel what you say about preferring lightweight bikes since weigh 50kg with 0 muscle so I really feel the difference between 120kg bike and a 180kg one.

I'm starting to think that Harleys are very suited to high speed chases even less so than the sport touring bikes other countries use.

When did Harley start losing out to Japanese bikes? I saw a video that mentioned the 60s but I assumed would be like British bikes where 60s Japanese bikes were more reliable but didn't have any SEXO appeal to draw away customers leading to BSA and Norton to get complacent.

Then in the 70s just as industrial strife was fucking Triumph etc. hard those sandal wearing goldfish tenders started putting affordable cruise missiles on sale to the general public like the Z1000, RD400, 750 triple etc. and suddenly all those ton up british bikes look one of those 1920s motorbikes like the Brough Superior
>>
>>27775077
Heh, dumb truck driver didn't realize all he had to do was drive across any of those fields and the motorcycle couldn't have continued pursuit
>>
>>27775150

not to mention Japanese bikes in the 70s also completely cornered the market in scooters and 250cc bikes leading to customers buying Japanese first and probably continuing that trend.
>>
>>27775150
I think probably the UJMs being cheaper, then developing into absolute screaming speed machines. So probably the 70s.
