Which bike screams “bisexual midlife crisis”?
>>
>>27984597
Follow it to the letter if you want to but in my experience as long as you’re not pinging it off the redline immediately after starting (you shouldn’t do that period) and change the break-in oil when you’re supposed to it’ll be fine.

I rode mine mildish for the first 150mi
150-250 fairly normal
250-600 normal with bursts of hard but no redline
After the break in oil is out go hard that’s the main thing you want to get that stuff out as it will have metal in it
Some guys say go hard from the start
Some stick to mfr recommendations
I took middle route
Hi vary your revs you’ll be fine

>>27984597
A lot of the manual procedures don't make sense, honestly. I didn't read it for my zx14, but the dealership just told me don't cruise at more than half throttle for the first 300 miles, then don't cruise at more than 2/3 throttle for the next 300 miles. Then change the oil. I did that.
Generally speaking, I like to follow the rules of "drive/ride it mid, and get on it for a short burst occasionally". That's what I did for my zx14. It's got almost 8k on it now and it's doing good.
I personally feel like babying it in break in is not good, but beating the fuck out of it like gixxerbrah (don't listen to him) says is bad. You want all the different metal parts to seat into each other and it needs a little bit of aggressive input to do that. It also has special break in oil from the factory, so going too hard in the beginning can cause more break in wear than needed.

I'm having a problem with a dealer. The problem is that they have a bike I want, at a price I want, I cannot stand dealing or talking with them for more than like 10 minutes because of the dealership manipulation they try to do to upsell the bigger bikes. how the fuck do I fix this? This is a huge corporate powersports dealer doing this, btw. Not a mom and pop shop. If they were just straightforward the first time, I would have bought the bike already.

How do I cope with the fact I'll NEVER ride super good. In some of the videos I see of people riding like they can do wheelies and 0 point turns and skids and shit. I will never be able to do it. If I fall I will literally break everything in my body (weak bones, genetic condition, in b4 choccy milk). I feel like when you're that good at being a bike you literally can't crash but if you're not that good you are destined to crash.

Day one of testing with a manual pressure gauge went well. If the light ends up flashing on its own, that tells me for sure it's an electrical issue, because the pressure switch is not even on the bike right now. It had pressure all through the 3rd and 4th this morning, but I had the light covered up. The light actually will flash for an FI code as well. I didn't know that until I looked at the wiring diagram this morning. I had left the air pair valve out last night so I covered up the light because of the FI code. I reconnected the pair valve. No flashing light now. So I'll need to look for an FI message on cluster as well if the light flashes, but I don't think it ever gave the FI message before.
I did a wiggle test on the harness tonight and couldn't get the light to flash.

It's okay anon, we all have to learn and it takes time.
Today it was the first time I got my front wheel up, I could only do it once, it's a 125cc and doesn't have much power. I have been riding for years and I have seen a kid that wasn't even legally allowed to ride on the road pop the front on a similar 125.
You don't have to be a pro, or be competitive. You can just... have fun you know?

He should ride it, but some bikes can idle on 3 cylinders and run 4 under load.
But I think you might be able to hear it idling on 3 by sound and feel if it's running on 4 due to the power loss.

Also visually check if the rims aren't bent.

How do I know if my clutch plates need replacing? My shifting is kinda fine (except neutral has been hard to find) but the mechanic changed my oil (did some work on the engine) and said the oil that I put in was already gray after 1000km, and that it was the metal from the clutch plates, and I need to replace them quite soon. I told him my clutch plates are very new, and he says maybe I should open up the crankcase and see...

Took the windscreen off my CB650R and the handling is instantly better. I didn't realize how much it was fucking with the steering since it mounts directly to the fork and catches wind rather than mounting to the body of the bike like on an actually faired motorcycle. And without it I'll probably ride safer since with more wind I'll go slower. I think I'll keep it off.

genuinely retarded, 77 southbound narrows to a 3-laner at most points which is disastrous for an in-out major city highway
277 loop is also a death wish, which you have to get on to get anywhere
485 is just generally a wreck but is in better shape than both, still not great though
used to commute into uptown for a job and literally every day there was a lethal wreck on 77. made me swear off interstates surrounding the area permanently.

It commonly has the Rotax which is considered a beast but may have the Loncin built Rotax which is considered a bit worse. It’s great imo, I used to own a f650gs. But I understand few people want a 650 single - there are cheaper 700 twins for a smoother ride, and smaller singles for better dirt performance and less weight.

So they’re no-so-fun on the highway because vibration and no windshield, they’re pretty fun off road but a bit heavier than you’d want. Don’t know your market but $6k seems pretty expensive tho, I bought my f650gs for €2500

You go in you let them try to upsell you wasting multiple hours of their day sitting you on all their inventory just to go back to the bike you actually want. Then asking only for the warranties that you actually care about if at all. They will also really try to upsell equipment.

Hey anons, got my first bike. Please excuse the hideous L plates, I'm planning on doing my full licence next year when I have more time.
How often are you supposed to clean/re-lube the chain? I cleaned the chain on my pushbike every couple weeks when I was commuting on it, is it similar for a motorbike?

>remove the front fender

jeeez what? Then it wouldnt even be a Supermoto anymore.

I think the overall design is pretty cluttered and the lines arent very balanced if you look at it from that angle. The KTM group Sumos got a very clean upside down triangle going on and less random plastic parts interrupting the flow of things.
Although the Hyper looks more expensive (which it is)
>>
>>27985433
If you are looking at entry level brands like icon and joe rocket their prices don't change much wherever you are for their low end stuff. If you are in Japan mid budgets can be a bit cheaper and especially domestic top end stuff especially with arai anymore with helmets. Assuming you are american, if you are looking for good you want a budget of $200-$300 for domestic japanese but the brands are different. You don't really see much elf, konmine, rs taichi, and a few others. But honestly sites like webike japan sells most the things without markup so you can kindoff shop around on weird lesser known brands to the west on there.
>>
>>27985448
I just like no front fender fairing.
>Then it wouldnt even be a Supermoto anymore
Still is and on street it doesn't serve the same purpose anymore so it is dead weight to me. Suspension and riding positions make it a super moto more than fairings.

Actual dash cams are expensive, bulky, the footage is not stabilized and low quality especially at night when I ride the most.

What DJI is that? I don't care much about 4k and I looked at the Action 1 but the low FOV kind of sucks for my use case.

I need advice on new tyres. Pretty much the only thing I'm looking for is building lean confidence. Don't care how long they last or how many different surfaces they're suitable for. So, I looking for tyres that i) have an aggresive V shape, so you can get pulled and lean as much as possible before losing traction, and ii) also have a lot of grip (normal sunny day roads) so I won't start slipping if I don't lean perfectly, for twisties not for the track.

Currently I'm looking at Supercorsa SP V4 or Power 6 (the latter supposedly don't grip as much and don't have as much of an aggresive profile as the supercorsas)

My day of hypertardation is over.
698 is an awesome bike for doing sumo things.
As soon as you have to ride in a straight line at constant speed you realize that it is a sumo built to do sumo things.
When you ride on a cobblestone/brick road even at the softest suspension settings you realize that it is a supermoto with supermoto suspension, built for sharp cornering.
It's a well-behaved steed, and riding it feels as smooth as a ride on a galloping steed.

I no longer want a 698.

What scoot model? you might get away with just servicing the front suspension and chaning out the oil. Don't think it would normally be bottoming out from the factory unless you're a 300lb orangutan.

Take breaks. I leave very early in the morning while it's still dark so I arrive when it's still light which is much nicer when tired. I'd take the VFR and in future mod one of them for more comfort. The VFR has the HP so that would be my preference but I've done much longer trips on worse.

>>27986281
Use a sponge or plastic baster to slurp the master cylinder then you'll have far less to bleed.

>>27986045
Because it makes them a bit more useful on dirt roads. Great machines, I've had an R60 with a 900 engine (straight bolt in and the 60 came with a kicker) and an R65 (which really needs more displacement but those swap as easily). I sold them since I rode my FXR much more.

>ankle brace is gouged to fuck on my right boot and not my left just because the part that sticks out the furthest on it happens to sit at the exact spot the top brake master bolt sticks out
The amount of things that had to be designed this exact way for this to happen is kind of funny. Like any other size of boot and it wouldn't even happen.

My 23 cb500x needs more power and stability at higher speeds. Should I replace it with the tracer 9 gt plus. The cb500x can go on the highway but for not terribly long or fast or far. You can go 80 or even 90 but not for long before you feel the need to go back down to 65. After 60 the MPG plummets. If I ever want to go cross country I need to really mod this bike or getter something bigger, but I lose the nimbleness and agility.
>>
>>27986111
Look at S23s too.
>>
>>27986432
put a windscreen on it before you swap bikes. just a little forkmount flyscreen can make a huge difference

> After 60 the MPG plummets
My dude I upgraded from a '19 500x to a t7, and it's a noticable dip in economy. A tracer 9 is gonna be much worse on fuel.
Consider a Africa twin the old 1000 model it's decent on fuel for it's size, comfy and doesn't lack power.
>>
>>27986152
That's an "artifact" from the 2007 FPS, "S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl."
>>
>>27986432
Faster shooms = less fuel economy thats how it works
Cb500x is the middle of everything except weight by about 50-100lbs comparitively
If you want to go comfy speeds for long straihhtways, probably want a cruiser but dont expect much more performance gains
Vfr800 is also an option i guess, buy mine it has new tires
>>
>>27986432
How about NC750(X), maybe the most economical motorcycle with a bit more horse and torque than the 500.

I added a wind screen extender to the stock screen. It helps with the wind but I think it messes with the aerodynamics. I went and bought a puig screen as I think a one piece will allow better aerodynamics over the extender. Hopefully it helps make the bike feel more stable and makes me need a little less engine power to overcome the bad aerodynamics.

Bros, I NEED a new helmet. Shoei fits me the best, but there are a ton of helmets on closeout right now (revzilla/cyclegear). Would it be stupid for me to get a long oval fitting helmet? I'm looking at an LS2 challenger. Any others I should consider? I don't need coms or any fancy stuff. Also might get an MX helmet. What MX helmets should I be looking at?

Was pretty keen on only getting the long low speed style sliders which probably would have been worse in the case of the crash so I’m kinda glad I didn’t get them until after lol
Besides, fairings are just really expensive sliders (:
