Hotwing told me the best way to keep your bike looking nice is to give it a wipedown with a microfiber and some instant detail after every ride to keep it shiny.
I've been keeping up with it and beyond keeping the bike clean it also keeps me aware of maintenance items as well as giving me a better connection with the bike because I actually feel like I'm doing it justice unlike R3

little bit of a masochist, when I got into the accident with the R3 I got roadrash on my wrist and pouring iodine on it everyday was fun
same with the body roadrash I had on my tummy up to my ribs, also used to skate a lot and had a lot of fun crashing, I skinned my hand pretty bad a few times but couldn't stop laughing. Would probably be into a stunt riding if I had a better job, practicing stupid tricks in a parking lot with other randos seems fun if I had a helmet on

For R3/FZ6 anon:

>I wanted to ask as a follow up, will the steel wool not leave a huge circular scratch path from where I was using it? Would metal polish still be advised?
Triple zero steel wool will not scratch chrome if you can believe it. It's the best thing to polish and clean chrome up with. I polished the bumpers on my '68 Chrysler using tin foil first then steel wool. You can use metal polish to finish it off if you want but often times it's not necessary. Can you post a picture of what you're doing it on?
>Did you drag wrist and mirror too?
I did >_•_<

>Not really lending it to him, the title is fully in his name and he has his own insurance on it. If he were to try and part it out for money I wouldn't stop him, but he's really close to me like a brother so he tends to have my best interest in mind.
Which as of right now would be to keep the R3 alive as long as possible to spite its history, we both wanna see how long it can go for because the engine is in really good quality for what it's been put through
You're a very good friend then, hopefully it can be many people's learner shit bike.

If those are the stock carbs you're going to have a bad time trying to get them to run efficiently with the pod filters
The stock keihen cv carbs need an air box with neutral air in order to feed correctly. The air coming from the pods will be too turbulent to be effective. Also the non stock exhaust will only rob power from this engine. The cb350 is more desirable than the 360

Cb350 is going to be a better bike than the 360.
The 360 came with a front disc brake.
If you're going to get a 4cyl vintage Honda, get a 750. Or a 550 over a 500
The flow chart should be
Cb350/sl350>cb350f>cb360
Cb750>cb500>cb500

Cb350f is a 4-cylinder 350 but I recommend sticking to a twin. Easier to work on and lighter.
Earlier 350s had a "fat cam" which let it rev up to 10.5k

The 500 came out before the 550 and weighed a lot, after a few years they bored it out to 550. Cb550 has a better trans than the 500

just wear some long johns, a neck gaiter, and a wind blocking layer. anything colder use hand warmers in boots and heated grips. congrats now you can ride year round pussy.
>>
I'm looking at options for my motorcycle wardrobe. Context, euro in process of getting his license. Will probably start on a road bike, but the adv/offroad beckons me.

Removable waterproof liners seem weird since large parts of the garment get wet that way.
Fancier water proofs are expensive or are great for sweatmaxxing when it gets warm.
Don't feel like buying both sporty gear and adv gear later on.
Want at least AA and lvl2 armor.

So far the "best" approach seems to be to get a decent AA base layer with armor inserts than can act as a stand alone piece. That way hot weather is covered.
You can wear w/e gear on top that the situation or style requires, protection is already taken care of.
When you get wet everything will dry faster because it's not one thicc garment with 5 layers.

Any suggestions?
Thanks for reading my autistic blog.

I don't even drive the cage on ice, I'm not from up north. but with the methods I mentioned before I've been able to withstand enjoyable rides below freezing

i need to pull it for 8m to back the birb back into my cucktent, its okay but with a garage like yours i would prefer to ride it in and out the garage. busa is quite low and you can rest the weight against your leg but that slope of yours would anoy me hard. how are you doing it with your current bike?

Not him but I'm not a fan of it either. It's just too basic a color. It's uninteresting or noteworthy. Compare the Yamaha blue to this red the did. The red has a luxuriousness and sophistication that makes their blue seem like something a child would choose.
>>
>>28022227
Based. I have a 250, love it. I've been thinking about my 'next bike', and I'm really thinking I'll just get a 300 at some point. I don't ride on highways a lot and I basically just want a bike for cruising around dirt roads, back roads, and trails. So the CRF is just perfect for that. Might consider a DRZ400. I don't really want a heavier bike because I want something I can drag out of a ditch if I do something stupid.

It's funny how much a color can influence how I feel about a bike. I usually don't give much of a shit as far as cars, but if I don't like the color of a bike I'm 100% out. I'm not big on that blue, either. I thought about buying a Versys X 300, but when I went into the dealer they only had this weird green with blood red accents, looks weird irl, I just wasn't feeling it at all.

I just ate shit in the rain.
>ridin on the storm for no reason
>wheels feeling like ice skates
>think "you're riding like a pussy, you probably have grip it's just in your head"
>on next right-hand curve (thankfully) lean too much and eat shit all accross the oncoming lane
>roadrash on my leg a bunch of plastic blown to bits, but rideable
The biggest pain is in my wallet and pride

NC... Scl500 or nx500, if honda or anyone made a sub 8k vtwin I would buy it but I am stuck with only ptwin options with yams and honda. I would rather have a thumper with more power but the xr650 is too tall.

Had a slide for the time today after 3 years of riding. 20mph on gravel, I feel like such a loser yet I dont know what I could have done to avoid it. I've been on gravel before and although I'm not certain I don't think I was braking or downshifting. Bent brake lever, cracked mirror, bent bar end and scrapes on fairings and exhaust. Don't know what else I should check for damage; it was braking fine and kept in straight line on the (very slow) way home. Definitely buying and wearing riding pants now, if I had faster my kneecap would have shattered.
Fuck bike was basically new despite being almost 10yo :( I used to think I was an above average rider but now idk...
>>
>>28022305
A few years ago. If you're referring to the guy who rides off the edge of the road I think the opposite happened. He froze and didn't lean because he was afraid of losing grip in the same way that I did.
>>
>>28022349
>I used to think I was an above average rider but now idk...
consider that if you knew how to do skids and wheelies this wouldnt have happened. you would have probably just drifted and it would have been cool as fuck especially if girls were around but based on your description you were going slow and not doing anything remotely cool.
>>
>>28022353
I know how to do both skids and wheelies, I had a supermoto before current bike. I just had no feeling of sliding or anything really, bike just fell asleep on me instantly.

Seconded. I already stored my bike for winter. It's already below zero in the mornings. Soon it will snow and with good luck next time I might be riding it's already end of march.

At least driving in winter is fun.
