Itchy boots new bike is fucking sweet. Rebuilt entirely from frame with new spare parts from the 80s-90s, redundant electrical with double redundant electric+kickstart ignition, origional suspension fully rebuilt and lowered, 340lbs/155kg with 40hp., 20-22L gas capacity. Basically a dakar bike but built for reliability

I know something about a moment of inertia. Since the 21" rim and tire would be thinner and lighter than 17" rim and tire in this case, the moment of inertia could stay almost same as the original. I have a rear tire on the front rim since there was only one size in stock at the time I last bought new tires. I didn't find the exact mass of the existing tire online but the chart says that the 21" tire could weight half of that 17" tire.

White zx6r bro, you asked about exhaust for your 636.

Full system will give you more horsepower, will be louder, and will require a tune. I use the mail in ECU tuning service from 2 wheel dyno works. You can either get the de-catted headers or hollow out the cat on your stock headers and and unclip the cables for the exhaust valve. The 2024 636 was fucked with emissions, so that might be the way to go. Or you can just get a slip on and call it a day. You can typically, depending on the slipon and how the exhaust is sectioned up on you bike, put a slipon and see how you like. Then do full headers and a tune later if you want. Some bikes you can hollow out the cat and unclip the exhaust valve cables to disable the flow valve.

With two wheel dyno works tune, you will also need to block off the PAIR valve system. It's basically the secondary air injection system. It's on the valve covers. You just take the hoses off and put rubber caps over the ends, or buy the block off plates.

1. so much plastic for a bike that had an msrp of like $14k
2. factory bolts and hardware rusting after living in states that barely gets rain
3. front calipers are built like shit and need a rebuild after like 15k miles (the pistons don't retract all the way and drag)
4. the clutch is loud as fuck and sounds like rod knock
5. ABS is ancient and slow
6. oil magically spitting up into the airbox
7. weak ahh fork seals leaking after a very gentle 15k~ miles (no slamming into curbs, ditches, potholes, harsh wheelie drops)
it's comfy I guess. the 1000s didn't even get cruise control until 2020 and the 650 doesn't have it. "touring bike" btw, might as well get an Aprilia caponord

A soft tire is for riding on hard terrain and a hard tire is for riding on soft terrain. On a smooth mx track the ground is going to give when you hit the throttle so you want the tire knobs to be rigid. If you take that sam hard rubber to rocky terrain the knobs will shear off

Yes, you’re exactly right but there is also the element of self control or lack there of. I had poor self control so going to McDonald’s and being handed predetermined portions with relatively consistent calorie counts was the key for me. If I made food at home I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from eating a little extra in every meal or grabbing a small snack that I shouldn’t have had.

Tubeless on a tube wheel is fucking hell
>>

Damn, Tenny stronk indeed. They seem to be very durable off road but still nice to rip around on the roads.
If it's already been bent once, it might be prone to cracking. A torch might help prevent that, but you'll probably have to pull the cage off for that to not torch the bike
My buddy crashed his CBR 600 the track recently and absolutely twisted the rear subframe but somehow managed to get it straight again with a torch.

nah. what are you trying to prove, and who are you trying to prove it to
>>

Some dualsport tires are INSANELY fucking stiff and you need them really warm, and a lot of lube, and preferably a machine. I've got changing nice soft 17" track tires down pretty easy now, 4 spoons/irons is borderline cheating.

>>28026376
Pol Tarres is that you?
>>
could one, hypothetically, install a batwing cowl on a dirt/enduro bike
>>
Shit I'm too sore after riding. I need a gym membership.
>>
idk i just can't take dirt bikes seriously
comically thin seats
cheapo plastic looking fairings
dinky little thumper engines
they're just toys
>>
>>28026543
All bikes are toys.
>>
>>28026549
nope
>>
>>28026543
I commute on my toy and I love it.

Yeah, they are. Toys or race bikes. Bare minimum needed to go fast and jump. Plastic fairings to take abuse and get going again with no damage.
>>
>>28026543
aren't fairings all made of plastic one way or another
>>
>>28026535
just ride more and your body will adjust. or fix your ergos/seat. I can easily ride 650 miles in a day with minimal soreness on a comfy bike. 1100 miles in 15 hours with simply a recovery day after.
Or you're just old.

Why yes, I can replace all of my fairings for 130 bucks total. How did you know?
>>
why does it feel like Yamaha is the rich guy brand and Kawasaki is for the poors
>>
>>28026600
because you don't see the $30,000 supercharged bikes in Kawi's lineup
>>
>>28026408
I appreciate Dunlop for making tyres for every purpose for every size but.
The GPR300 is famously skiddish on its side anon. Ari Henning tested it years ago
>>
>>28025679
Here used bikes are basically a 6yo bike with 20 to 30k km that barely costs 2000€ less than a new bike without all the baggage those carry.
>>
It's almost summer and I've noticed all the fun bikes have gone up 50% in value at least.
Found this for defent price though. Looks fun.
>>
is a bike having no windshield too noticeable on the freeways?
I'm not sure on which version of the SV650 to get, the S or the N model
i dont want my arms falling off if i decide to commute on it on the free way and wish i had some fairings to break up the wind
>>
>>28026754
Is that a brembo master?
>>
>>28026778
Depends on how hard you ride and how far. If you're just chilling at legal speeds or riding for less than an hour at a time then yeah nakeds are fine. Aero matters gradually more on long rides, and really suddenly above 80mph. The one naked bike I have ever questioned why it even exists is the ZH2. Going 150 on a naked bike would just hurt.

I kind of miss that classic bike style. Have thought many times about selling my 125 and daily ride a classic again but the 125 is so convenient that hardly anything beats it and will be a downgrade.

Thought getting a sport tourer would make me stop wanting a sportbike but now I want one even more, pushing it to limiter and feeling how high it can rev is addicting

Yeah, using plastic to hide the steel tube and give the appearance of a twin spar aluminium frame is so tasteful.
Sure, it's a nice looking bike, but it's well overpriced for what it is. It is by no means a great set of wheels.

Not that good at riding, mostly first and second gear rev limiter just getting on the highway, I just like the feeling of looking down and seeing I’ve still got 3K to go on the limiter
>>28026907
I figured it’d make sense, something that’s a lot more tame and less peaky so the adrenaline isn’t as addicting but still capable and enjoyable on the highway

Seating position matters too. 85 on a husky 701 feels fine, 85 on a yamaha bolt is aids.
