I don't really get heated grips, the bit that gets cold is the outside, not the inside of my hand. Does the heat make it all the way through?

I was riding in just leather gloves last winter and it works alright for short trips, but this time I bought liner gloves at my local Decathlon and I have hand guards now, so I'm hoping it will be better, but it's still barely cold enough for long johns, so I can't test yet. Fucking global warming, it's already October.
>>
>>28051719
>Fucking global warming
kek
>>
>>28051719
I've found that there isn't one solution to cold hands. having handguards, heated grips and decent wind blocking/insolated gloves is the trifecta of a comfortable ride. at least for your hands
>>
Well it's time for another pineapple express, west coast anons. The rain started this morning in coastal BC+WA so you California anons are probably next. Have your rain gear handy.

>>28051719
The part that gets cold is your fingers (luv me carbon knuckles) and your fingers touch the grips through your gloves, so yeah, straight convection. The palm contact heats up the arterial blood going in to the fingers too.

I was 26 when I got my first gf, prior to her I was a highly insecure incel who made getting a gf my northstar and thought that everything would change. having her was a nightmare to my finances, my time, my resources, and my emotions (she was an anxious wreck that would dump all her feelings on me to process them for her). I was sickened to discover that having a gf didnt make me any happier, she's gone now and im indifferent to getting another one, though i do feel weird being an unmarried guy in my friend groups where 90% of the men are married.

OG Multistrada was genuinely ugly, and aged even worse. Spindly bottom, bubbly top, stupid split fairing, it's a disproportionate mess even before you look at details.
999 is hated by people who are wrong. The only bad thing about its design is the rear light solution, that part really is an afterthought and it just hangs off the exhaust like a ballsack. Without the light and license plate the rear is amazing, and the front is one of the best among all motorcycles. The only bike that I can think of that looks better overall is MV Agusta F4, but even it looks a bit dated in current day due to its headlight.
>but
Post a bike that looks better. All its contemporaries are ugly blobs, and all bikes from the last decade are ANGERY and overdesigned.

disagree all you want i have learnt to love all its lines and the details, no other bike has an aluminium frame like this or such well integrated turn signals into the rear, nope certainly not the k5.
Also Aprilia knocked it out of the park with all their color schemes around that time and this one is the best.

HP = (torque * 5252)/RPM. Bike engines, even big cruiser ones, don't make THAT MUCH torque, so they have to get most of their hp from revving high. Big Vtwins don't rev that high. 109 wheel-horsepower is pretty damn good, that's very fast on the street.

The Vstrom is the bike no one wants to buy, but a lot of people SHOULD buy. My dream build would be to get a raising link, exhaust, tube, suspension tune, and a 17" front wheel built/widen the rear wheel on a first gen and basically have a comfier KTM SMT that would be dead reliable.

Walk around in the boots and actively try to flex the fuck out of your ankles/toes in them, they need to be broken in. Brake pedal feel will never be great but shifter action becomes immediate because the boot is such a huge fucking sledgehammer. Get it adjusted right and learn to hook your foot out/under the shifter and you can bang clutchless upshifts with no effort all day.

>Starting with the TD1 in 1962, Yamaha Motor Co. became the only maker to consistently supply a production GP racer even after Japanese manufacturers' factory motorsports teams left the World GP circuit in 1969. Included among their racing bikes was the Yamaha GP, a machine loved by private riders throughout Japan and around the world, and one that nurtured many an excellent rider. The designation for Yamaha's production racer was changed to TZ in 1973 with the TZ250 and TZ350, which exchanged the TD3 and TR3's air-cooled engines for liquid-cooled units. These two racers are especially noteworthy for sharing the same basics as the street model and for being easily obtainable.

The 1976 TZ250 was given a Monocross suspension and the 1979 model a wide loop frame, while the crankcase was the same as the DX250 and RD250. Yamaha then aimed at further improving the potential of this line by outfitting the TZ250 with a specially-designed engine and exhaust device in 1981, an aluminium frame in 1986, and an exhaust that shot straight out the rear in '88.

>Eventually, the parallel-twin engine configuration was replaced by a v-twin. The 2000 version then adopted the sand-cast crankcase from the YZR replica works bike and returned the 56 x 50.7mm bore and stroke to a square 54 x 54.5mm configuration, another first since the 1981 model. In 2003, the TZ250 carried on the basics of the 2000 model while changing the exhaust from a slide-valve to a drum-type design similar to that used in the YZR. This improvement has also been firmly sustained in successive models.

Torque in the 6,000 to 7,000 r.p.m. range is fat and flexible and connects smoothly with the power band at over 9,000 r.p.m. The mid- to high-range is strong as well—as Yamaha bikes are prone to be—and runs easily up to 13,000 r.p.m., with no sluggish feeling even then, to make you feel like its reached its ceiling. The frame is basically identical to the 1996 model, with superior longitudinal stiffness and a high sense of stability during cornering—especially when entering under heavy braking—making it easy to accurately remain on the desired line.

They have all the poor build quality and strange design you would expect from "made in India," and most of them are underpowered small bikes for the domestic Indian market. Dealers for companies who sell both will openly laugh at the poobikes and direct you to real bikes if you have money.

That's what makes it useful for evening out ugly sand cast surfaces. You can follow up with brass if want. Brushing polished surfaces is of course retarded.

Brushing is to even out textured surfaces, buffing is to polish smooth surfaces.

Same price, same mileage, same condition; would you buy a Street Triple 675 or a speed triple 1050? In fact the speeds are cheaper around here. Insurance rates are nearly identical. Not that many twisties where I live but it's Kansas either. I usually go for 2hrs rides once/twice a week, 2 track days per year.

What is a BMW F650? Is it BMWs version of the KLR?
>>
>>28053617
All the F bikes are Rotax pee twins. The F GS bikes are surprisingly decent ADVs for people who don't want the big boxer GS.

How'd you recover it?

>>28053634
pretty sure the 650 is a single
>>
>>28053646
There were both singles and twins in different years. Right now BMW's only singles are the 310cc jeet bikes.

Wear eye protection anon. Those harbor freight brushes shed bristles fast.
Ones from Lowe's cost a little more but last longer.

Sometimes there's a reason why the person selling the bike has chosen to 'undercut' the market.
When I was looking for my first bike I saw a 2019 CBR300r for $1200.
>had a title on 2nd owner
>no damaged fairings
>fully stock
>engine sounded healthy
Turns out it got title hopped during covid and DMV wanted it title-bonded or have the 2nd owner (not the guy currently selling it) request a replacement title and sign it over again.

Looks pretty bleak for the price, especially next to the new CB1000, cheaper and more powerful and similarly equipped for the SP version.
Fuck yamaha.
