The XT250, for what I do with it, is not made to be a mini adventure bike. What you want is a CRF300 or a KLR depending on where you go. The XT250 is really only made for one person to go off-road or short highway stints. Going 1000 miles on one is going to be painful.

It's also way overpriced for what it is unless you find it used. For the price, I would easily get a used KLR, BMW, or even a chink CFMoto adventure bike.
>>
>>28060287
That said I say 'fuck the police' and do it anyway. Let them pass me on the interstate going 65. idgaf. I can imagine with a passenger you may get 55 on a good day.
>>
>>28059675
Don't let our shitposting get you down. It's an excellent bike for thumping around town. It lives in the 55-65 mph range nicely with stock tires.
Never tried two-up on one because the poor little 250cc struggles enough with me on it, and I'm a light 150lb guy. I can say my gear is 80 lbs and you can feel when the bags are full in responsiveness. If you're going to be 95% on-road with 5% off-road may I suggest a 300L Rally? It is the low-seat height adventure bike you're looking for.

When you buy a bike, you're given a little tiny placard with the key's ID on it. Mine was a four digit code that, in the event that I lose the keys, I can call Yamaha up and ask for a new key with the code. And they can send me one.
It even had a place in the manual to fill out the code so it's written down in more than one place.

Vrods are incredibly based, and there is a reason they have a huge following in Australia and New Zealand. There was a time when you could get them here in the states for $2500. If you can snag a clean on for that price, and you take care of it, it will 100% go up in value, even as you put miles on it.

Even at less than $6k it’s a steal, but you definitely want a clean, garaged example. A lot of those bikes were left outside for years once their value dropped, which was only because boomers literally can’t get away from air cooled v-twins.

I’m not familiar with your riding experience but it’s important to remember those v-rods are fast bikes. It’s going to be faster than a sport bike up to damn near 100mph, and it’s going to top out at 160mph. So just keep that in mind.

If you get one, be sure to post it you absolute Chad

Drain the carbs if you can. Stabilizer is mostly kerosene / diesel which forms a thin layer on top of the fuel, which prevents evaporation and prevents oxidation. Unfortunately none of this will get into the carbs, as the fuel is drawn from the bottom of the tank.

Yeah, but don't call it a 'netflix anime'. It is not a Netflix production.
Also there was a serious decline in the quality of Netflix produced anime after 2020. These days the phrase 'netflix anime' is used to describe the dogshit anime produced with the primary intention of satisfying international audiences.

has anybody had experience with bonded titles for motorcycles that were less than legit?

heres my situation
>seller has bike without tags
>says cant register it without the signature of the previous 2 owners
>can't get those signatures due to some unknown reasons
Assuming the VIN is clean, is there any downside to just doing a bonded title for this thing?
>>
I wasn't going to ride today. But then? I did.
>lots of stopping at stop signs without putting my foot down
>braking as late as possible from as fast as possible at the stop signs
>lots of 1st-3rd pulls
>almost low sided messing around in some dirt
>messing around doing as tight of circles as I could
>riding past toll booths
>lots of lane splitting/filtering
>lots of RESPECT
>can't wheelie
>bad body position
>hanging my left foot out while taking left turns still feels weird compared to right turns
>riding like a retard because it's fun

never done a bonded title, but the whole point is that it pays you out if it's ever reported stolen. After a few years, you get a regular title. You could also use DirtLegal, but it's kinda pricey. Also, make sure you talk to them on the phone when you finalize your order. My title was mailed to the wrong zipcode three times and bounced back, but they got it to me in the end.

I only did a little bit of research on bonded titles a while back, but I think it's a one time charge. I could be wrong. Theres a few youtube videos about them. not sure if this covers everything; I watched it a long time ago.
Maybe I'm retarded, but can't you just "fill in" the signature on the title from the previous owner and a bill of sale? Unless it's flagged or something from the current seller trying to register it. title jumping is illegal, but that's gay bureaucracy shit.

If its not turning over it might be the starter, ask him if the solenoid clicks. I just had the original starter on my '83 Innie crap out. Solenoid clicked nice but when I took the starter off it sounded like a spraypaint can when I shook it. Replaced it and she fired right up.

State troopers are the scariest, but in my experience they've always given me the least amount of hassle and usually just tell me to chill out and get lost. Troopers are often chill. Sheriffs are faggots. Little city cops are bigger faggots. Big city cops are too busy dealing with murders and robberies to give a fuck about a speeding crotch rocket.

hello /dbt/
I remember an anon here was going to do a VIN check on a bike that ended up being a scam

but i have come across a new bike and would like osme info
JH2PC3510XM000499
it's a cbr600 f4

very suspicious of the bike since it might be stolen
i ran out of NICS checks so if any other anon can check i'd be grateful

thanks fren
im a little optimistic since they have the title with that vin number
but for all I know the bike itself might have a different VIN so i'll confirm that in person after i meet up

i still dont understand why they want 3 signatures to get the plates, ive never heard of that policy
>>
>>28062362
No problem fren. Every state is different, I don't know why.

>>28062358
Are you still thinking about selling the pasta rocket?
>>
Would it be a bad idea for someone to start wrenching by trying to install a bore-up kit to turn a 250cc into a 300?
>>
>>28062391
Not at all. Just dont forget any steps (you will).

If you havent gotten the bike yet I'd suggest starting with an air cooled engine just because it is one less batch of fluids to deal with.
>>
>>28062397
I'm looking at the CBR250R that the anon linked me above. Should I check forums for instructions? How should I be learning how to disassemble the bike?
>>
I love the Suzuki TU250X more than you guys can even believe. How is it twice as fun as a literbike with 1/4 the displacement and 1/4 the cost?
>>
>>28062386
At the moment, I don't think so. I'm keeping it for an investment. The value just keeps going up and it's becoming a classic. People are starting to have nostalgia for it, I think I can make some money on it when collectors are lusting for it (probably).
>>
>>28062414
Youtube university, my dude. Forums are also a great help. Why this bike to learn wrenching? You could get the CBR and get a gy6 150cc to learn while saving headaces and money. They are all pretty much the same on the inside anyways. You can also kit out a gy6 to 232cc and do nearly the same numbers as the cbr.

Or if you got the money to throw around like that then go nuts on the cbr a single cylinder is great for learning.

Last riding times i had was when i tried finding a gas station in bc for the tennyfrens, those mountain passes were cold as fuck and full of rain
Then i stored my baikus with cousin
Did a few rips around with vfr before i started work again, but i gotta do a bunch of maintenance on the crf450rl: oil and filter change, gotta grt new turj signals or a tail tidy integrated kit because the right side melted from shoombraps, and a cam chain tensioner
Im also due for a fuel filter as per the oem maintenance, wonder how thatll be with the ims tank
Then there is the rear tire, which idk if i want to sacrifice the set to make them studded for winter and just hold off until next year, but if i go do that ill have to get all this shit done at once and no garage or space to do it in currently
And top it all off, my waranty wont cover shit as far as any of those little things go, might be able to squeeze 1500km ~ more out of the rear, but idk if i want to bother for winter

Need to sell my viffer, but all i get is trade offers and no responses after i tell people a price, these peepoo wont even negotiate or low ball me kinda sad
Had a ducatti 848 trade offer but he wanted cash on top it seems
Also have an aprillia dosoduro offer but i dont really see the point of owning a sumo when i have the crf i told him

I need to get living situation figured out bros; world is a fuck and i cant be assed to pay rent or a stupid mortgage if im home for only a week or less at a time on average, wondering if i should find a camper van or trugg to do the mobile motolife, do this temporarily and have the apartment rented out, if i can get this crap and some stability figured out i might be able to prolong some sense of security
Kinda split between truck box camper or toy hauler and a class b motorhome van
Its either figure someyhing out or i might just do the fixes and give both my bikes away to family and fuck off to another adventure far away, civvy life is fake and gay as fuck bros

I'm thinking of selling my fully restored, 40-year-old Honda VF 750C Magna with 20k miles on it. My friends ride enduro and croch rockets, and I don’t want to ride the life out of this beauty. Should I sell it or replace it? I barely rode it this summer, and it just sits in the garage so I'm sad af. I can't keep both. Any advice brahs?
>>
>>28062633
>Should I sell it or replace it?
Keep it and buy a second bike.
>I can't keep both
Yes, you can.
>>
>>28062634
It sucks seeing it just sit in the garage and when I do ride it, I push it hard because it's such a powerhouse for its size and age :(

It's a rare bike in this condition so I don't really want to fuck it up, can't trust myself lol
>>
>best biek

>fast enough, can get you killed
>economical enough you can ride it daily
>reliable and cheap to maintain
>can wheelie, very fun to ride

My Breva 750 could barely go on the highway from Houston to Austin without MAX TEMP. I would suggest a longer toothed boi. I mean it COULD do it but you cant go Niggers in an Altima fast

>From personal experience
It's a 200kg bike, it's not gonna get blown away easy.
It is however a 200kg bike with 43hp, so it starts to show it's limitations at around ~100km/h, so going >130km/h to overtake, you're gonna struggle.
>>
>>28062689
I have it
>>
>>28062703
You can pass at 150kph in 6th, its barely making the cut for passing though
And no you will not be blown around as much at that weight, its a pretty stable ride as is
