I will fully concede ergonomics as a limiting factor to your chosen bike. However I will also mention that you can alter quite a few to permit your dimensions.

Different seats, rear sets, suspension being slightly lowered (slightly, not even .2" if that), riding boots/shoes with tall soles, etc.

>>
>>28755374
The geometry and forks are pretty bad it seems. Or at least, not great. I've watched a few vids and I noticed immediately how much the forks decompressed when accelerating. Rear dip is one of the major complaints of the bike, as it happens. It's also a little heavy for what it is and the brakes seem alittle sloppy for a bike like that. Maybe I'm just being nitpicky, though, I haven't test rode one yet
>>
looking to get a bike for track use. Only ever had Cruisers and dual sports. I've ridden a lot of bikes, but those two types are only ones I've ever owned.
There's a KLX300SM and a CBR300R in my area for sale for similar prices and they're in similar condition. Which one would should I get? I feel like I'll be more familiar with the Sumo, but the CBR300R is a more normal sight at a track.
>>
>>28755389
Just add preload I guess. That bike does have a little bit more suspension travel than a supersport so more movement is to be expected

I am a poorfag in a 3rd world country, so I had to buy the cheapest thing available so I bought a Keeway rk150, yes I know it's Chinese, and personally I've never bought anything from the Chinese until I bought this.

I don't know anything about bikes, I don't have a license yet but I already know how to move around the city, my main issue is slow speed maneuvers which are required for the license test in my country.

I want to buy accessories to make it at least somewhat better, but because it's Chinese I can't find anything anywhere, are there any universal parts that fit all bikes? what do you recommend?

Also what type of motorcycle would this be considered, google says it would be a naked bike but it doesn't really look like one.

Air pocket in the piston lever, do alot of tiny squeezes and air will probably unstuck itself. Idk your bike tho so hard to get specfic.
Also try taking off the master clyinder from the handle bar and carefully pump it with the lever from different positions like higher up/slightly tilted/ etc. You could also take the caliper off and hang it lower to do the same thing. However all of this is 10x easier with a vacuum bleeder off a compressor instead of pumping. Still try the tiny squeezes to unwedge the air stuck in the lever piston
>>
>>28756986
if I go buy a hand pumped one will that be easier than heaps of little squeezing - im sick of it

how and why do brazilians do that swerve before they pop-up the wheelie?
it looks like they are bouncing/swerving side to side in time with the stroke of the suspension, then using the rebound to get a little extra lift?

>track
You go from point A to point A. In the end you didn't get anywhere and you wasted all that fuel.

I only ride on real roads where the element of risk of being killed by a cager is prevalent which heightens my sense of enjoyment. No risk, no reward. I didn't win a trophy but I rode with a sense of purpose. A desire to get to a destination unscathed amidst the challenges and tribulations of sharing the road with cager scum.

Track riding is for pussies who can't navigate obstacles and want to stay in their safe space away from the threat of cager brutality.

Real men ride on the road.
Scared little boys ride on the track.

>>
>>28757634
So are you saying track riding is about perfecting apexes? I can understand that. But I still hit apexes on public roads when I can. But I'm not simply trying to extract maximum performance out of my bike to chase lap times. I'm trying to get from point A to point B alive and at great speed. Navigating cagers and trucks and pedestrians that all want me dead. I can' imagine a "close call" or "near miss" situation on a race track and those are the situations that produce an adrenalin spike.
Track riding seems boring to me. The real fun is on the road.

Unfathomably based take, I'd only add that track and road riding are distinctively different. Track is a sterile, controlled enviornment. Whereas the real road is a grimey, unpredictable enviornment.

Real ones will always perfer the exploration of the open road instead of the repetitive, predictable, constant nature of a predetermined track.

Yeah you can get faster on a track but that's only because you're doing the exact same thing over and over and over. Very few of the skills and principles learned on a track translate to real world riding strategy. Not to downgrade or downplay track intensity, but it's the simple truths between a track and the real world.

>scared boys ride the track, real men ride real roads
I could see this, I mean every single track rider larps like a moto gp champion with a Faux sense of superiority always trying to talk down on others to justify their repetitive rides.

Thanks, I wasn’t really thinking about performance, but I’ll definitely get better tires, been watching a lot of videos saying tires are important. I was thinking more about comfort, since I’m basically using it to commute to work, and sometimes I have to travel anywhere from 2 to 4 hours.

My reasoning was, since it’s a Chinese bike and they copy everything, it must be a copy of some existing model that already has accessories that fit. I just don’t know how to check which one it’s based on.

Useful build. I suggest making sure your front fender won't slam your pouch on a hard bump since it's close to doing so.

One very old way to keep those pouches from sagging is insert contents into a section of PVC pipe that fits inside. That can contain your tool roll etc very conveniently. You could even run a paracord loop through the PVC for a convenient soft handle.

I've used the manual vacuum pumps for decades. Plastic is fine. So is hanging clear tubing off a barely cracked open bleed nipple, filling reservoir and letting it sit overnight (also works great on cars and trucks).

If your bike has ABS etc download a service manual or ask fora for specific instructions.

I have had my voltmeter on it on the resistence setting and every wire has 100% resistence.

Also what does the knobbly bit with the red wire do?

>>

>If you drive them like a nonretard they've not going to magically flip upside and kill you.
Sure, that's easy to say if you're in someone's backyard or on some trails that you know and the limits of your machine, but on the road? The place where you're trying to keep up with traffic, avoid other motorists, and deal with regular speeds and ground that a machine with known weight distribution issues wasn't made for? That's asking for trouble. If someone bought one to fuck around on their property with, I'd say be safe. If you're trying to convert one for road use, I'd tell you're retarded.
They also aren't just "boomer stories" these things had genuine safety concerns and that's why no one has attempted to make anything like these since. Can't keep a good idea down, but a bad one like this is left behind for a reason.

Not fucking really. The only issue is kids and retards rode them because you didn't have to balance them like a motorcycle so the barrier to entry was lower.
They were also advertised to kids and retards.
>and that's why no one has attempted to make anything like these since
WRONG AGAIN FAGGOT
No one has attempted to make them since because there was so much media hype over "these 3 wheelers are killing kids!!!!" that laws and stupid boomers have created some borderline superstitious fear that hopping on a 3wheelers = suicide.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_C8z0rFnjk

I'd ridden Honda big reds before. They have a learning curve just like motorcycles and they require skill.
Again the only reason they're banned now is because stupid ass parents were like

Lol no. Not like in anyway that it's dangerous, but Buells are s-sh-shaky bitches. If I let her run on the kickstand on smooth ground she does a little jig and will move inches in minutes. Rattles your hands and balls numb on trips. Even my 15 minutes commute leaves me with a tingle. Oh you know what that puts things in perspective, I don't have ''nice'' gear, I just have the helmet and gloves that came with the bike, the brand is Benelli, but I don't know anything about it.

You're right I should look into that, I looked for jackets and pants but they all seem pretty hot and my country is also very hot, so I'm still looking until I find something that won't boil me alive.

Honda, always, had more Rs, case closed
>>
>>28758336
Not really. I'm a flipper, but when I got the Buell I was left bikeless after selling my Harley and Honda when bike prices were super high and the profit was too good to pass up. I initially bought it to sell. Well, I don't plan on getting rid of it, if those Honda CB1000Fs (for under $12k) do make it to the states I'll be selling it because I don't need the Buell at that point. Doesn't look like they are, so for the time I'm keeping it.
>>28758373
Really? I see them all the time on FB Marketplace in my area. Not as often as some others, but there's always one or two models on there. They're just often priced too high for what they're worth. Over $3k for an XBR12 or Ulysses? No one should or will pay that.

No? Yes? Does it really matter?
Is a Pontiac a Chevy? Is a Husqvarna a KTM?
It's got a big(ish) American V-twin and it doesn't feel like anything like a bigger SV650 or something. It certainly doesn't feel like any Harley I've had. Wouldn't compare it to my 883, Wide Glide, or Street Glide. It doesn't even necessarily feel like my friend's Pan America. It's a remix.

Posted this yesterday, but just acquired a 2000 Honda Shadow 1100cc V twin with 30k miles. According to the previous owner, it has zero compression in one of the cylinders. I'm boiling the battery right now to try and get it to crank over, gonna borrow a compression tester from the local vatozone.

Forgive me for being drunk and retarded, but what's the checklist for dummies in this situation?
>compression test to identify which cylinder is dead
>tear down the head (according to youtube instructions)
>stare at valves that all look okay
>re-assemble
>repeat 3 times and finally send it off to a real mechanic
This is what I'm most afraid of at this point

And once again this fucking stupid mobile phone image orientation data fucks my god damned post over once again. I swear to god I'm going to strangle whatever fucking pencil-necked indian engineer decided to make photo orientation a separate parameter from the fucking angle the camera actually took the photo in the first place.

I've heard Honda bikes of this age are a pain in the ass to work on. Like in some cases you have to drop the engine to check valves because its frame won't let you, while on a Yamaha you can simply lift the tank
>>
>>28758483
>>28758484
Pal, there are forums for this. There's a whole HondaShadow dot Net dedicated to helping shadow owners. One of the fags from here is already on there. You bought yourself a project, don't expect some retards on an Egyptian Sausage Making Forum to be able to help you with a serious mechanical issue.
>>
>>28758486
I hear nuAge Yamahahas come with broken frames and engines that consume oil.

>Very good build quality; praised for innovative designs and often considered more aesthetically appealing or "exciting".

A high number of recalls does not necessarily mean a brand is less safe or reliable; rather, it indicates the manufacturer is being diligent and proactive about addressing potential safety concerns

tbf tta shadows didn't really change much, like most metric cruisers, from the 80s to the late 00s. Plus, Honda V-Twins are kind of a pain compared to their other engine platforms.

I get that, but an 80s shadow is still not the same bike as anons 00' and its still able to be worked on unlike the yamshill lies

You're stupid, the Shadow lineup is old as fuck, anon said the bikes of this age. It looks like a piece of shit by the way, some Yamaha bikes from the 80s look better and this Honda is only 25 years old.
Judging by its condition and a Benz this anon is a thirdie

Honda shills on suicide watch

On a Honda Shadow 1100 you have to drop the engine to check valves.

Honda bikes are fucking weird, almost like Kawasaki bikes. That's why every mechanic only likes to work on Yamahas

Not a thirdie, I got it for free. I live next to the ocean and this bike has been in the salt air for its entire life. In fact I think it was underwater at some point. And that Benz is a diesel with 330k miles on it, I will accept no besmirching of German steel folded 1000 times.

I understand that but I was hoping there'd be a resident autist hiding in these threads that's torn down one of these liquid cooled V twins. I'll go register on the forums.

joke aside, I would like to know if they make fun of Ducati differently now that they have dominated MotoGP for the last few years, or if they make fun of Honda for falling so far behind the competition. It's a shame there are no new translations

that aprila and the vtr have about the same power of any 600cc from the 2010s while being heavier

This instantly tells a country doesn't have the concept of a "light motorcycle", or 125cc. Are 50cc and 125cc purely an European thing?
