Just cracked 40k miles on mine, it really is a fantastic middle ground between sport and daily.
Just around 100HP with all the torque you need to keep your gas mileage and fun up around town but still has a ton of extra speed up top at 11k+ rpm for when you wanna make it scream in the canyons.
I put 20k miles on in my first year of ownership, I’ve ridden plenty of my friends bikes, demo’d plenty more and there’s not a single bike I enjoyed more than this one.
On top of the fun factor it’s stupid easy to service/work on. I regularly see these bikes on FBMP with over 100k+ miles on them because they’re just so goddamn reliable.
It’s literally perfect and the only reason Yamaha doesn’t sell FZ’s anymore is because they know they’d massively outsell their race replicas lol
Just don’t get the FZ6R, that thing was a mistake

Be careful with an FZ6 as a first bike, it can be done but you better make sure you keep yourself well practiced. 100hp to one rear wheel is a lot of power.
>>28760905
>the MT range
The FZ6/FZ1 are sport tourers with bikini fairings that are great for riding long distances. The FZ7/8/9 are all naked bikes baring the same name but not the same spirit.
It’s not lost on me that FZ was inherited from FZR but I think it’s pretty obvious these bikes were special. They look absolutely incredibly compared to the tracer 7/9 and actually deliver a more steerable version of a screaming race bike.

Streetable. Also want to add that they lean more on the race end than their tracer successors. You can’t tell me an MT10 with real wind protection and a 5 gallon tank wouldn’t sell like hotcakes. You can’t walk down the street without seeing an FZ1

Would you be WILLING TO TRAVEL?
Do you have A VAN OR TRAILER?/Can you even drive?
Can you AFFORD multiple sets of TYRES?

That's pretty sick.
I could do sumo track with my dirt bike, would just have to get sumo wheels and tires.
I don't exactly know what's special about sumo wheels, but I know people typically do it for street tires.

>The damper absorbs the deformation and vibration of the bike body during Riding. It offers a superior ride comfort.
>Vehicle-specific vibration damper that suppresses vibration improves ride comfort and handling and is even more effective in touring and long-distance trave

My CB500 (made in thailand) burned so much oil I sold it within 8mo of buying brand new. I feel bad about that, but I think it was happening only at speeds above 130 and the guy I sold it to looked like he'd only do the speed limit in the right lane, so whatever

Man, what happened to Honda? Even JDM top tier Hondas have this issue

>Yes, many owners of the new (2024/2025) Honda CBR600RR, especially European models, report significant oil consumption, with some needing to add a liter every 1000km, which many consider excessive, though Honda suggests some usage is normal, while older models might burn oil due to age, but recent models seem to have a design or emission-related issue affecting oil use.

You get a magazine in the mail each week. Sometimes the stories or articles inside are fun to read. The guy now running it spent a few issues complaining about the prior leadership, and gives updates about where the org is heading, or what current things they're lobbying for - mostly off-road access out west type stuff. Magazine has a lot of motocross type ads and sponsors so dedicates a decent amount of each issue to that, probably older riders' kids race dirt bikes, but still plenty of boomers on baggers reading it, so there's fun stories of olden times.

Does the mt-07 and r7 not drink copious amounts of oil? When yammers drink oil, its bad design. When Honda does it it is for lubrication and longer life of the vehicle.
>>
>>28761738
>The Honda CBR600RR (especially older models) has a reputation for potentially higher oil consumption, with some owners experiencing needing to top up significantly between changes (around 1L/1000km considered normal by Honda), while the Yamaha R7 generally appears to be more efficient, though specific consumption varies with riding style and engine health; the CBR's inline-four design is more prone to burning oil under hard use than the R7's CP2 parallel-twin

Because the DEPARTMENT OF WAR for all nations is being ramped up and as a result all former commodities are being priced in
Its especially noticable within the precious metals market, takes 100oz of silver for one tomahawk missile for example
Now compound that with the uptick in demand for things like drones and other armaments
And generic inflation, robotics and ai servers being sponges for anything tech related or raw materials
We aint never going back bro
2015, gold was like 1700/oz cad
Now its like 5800 shy of 6k
So if my wages were able to buy 2 oz of gold in 2015, and now in a payperiod i cannot afford a single ounce without saving the whole month and aping everything i have; thats some RAMPANT inflation
I think we are on the cusp of hyperinflation, trumps just disguising it because the fed employed him to
Also we are going to war
Tap the ShoomerSign™, its ssbeoy because too much carbon footprinting with more than 120hp :)

10kWh battery should weight around 70kg, that's the weight for cells. Casing can be a structural element of the bike.
With 10kWh battery you already get 1h of highway riding or a few hours of relaxed croooozing, and the bike would be of an average weight, so it's not like it would be some lame obese shit that nobody wants, it's only the matter of price.

I am having alot of trouble finding a new bike to upgrade to. My upgraded Cb500x was a pretty smart buy and tough to beat it's value.

Okay I've been having a lot of fun taking the DR out in the snow, but my fingers STILL get cold too fast.
I think I need to either buy heated gloves or get the like, bar muffs that go around the entire handlebar grip area.
Heated grips aren't enough.

I want a road biased bike. There is no offroading in Eastern MA. the CB1000GT looks up my alley but no USA mention.

You have to get either the cbr600f4i, or the vfr800 worst not gear driven cam edition
Theres no other options, follow the ShoomerSteps™ and claim your victory for great justice

But fr fr no cap wtf baik u lookin to upgrade into?
>>
>>28762578
transalp is pretty road focused
>>
>>28762578

A few options. the tracer 9, tiger sport 800 tiger 900 gt and the cb1000GT. I really like my CB500x. It has a rally raid rear shock. shad panniers and top box, heated grips, puig screen, aux lights, leo vince slip on, center stand. I hate it's first gear its too fucking tall and i have to shift into 2nd almost immediately. Also I like to ride 90mph on the highway and this bike is just too weak for that.
>>
>>28762599
Probs go with the tracer9
1st gear always like that unless you git a leaderbaik or a i4 sporty
>>
>>28762603
the new tracer is kinda bulky up front.
>>
>>28762565
get a gs

when 3 letter agencies want to frame things on certain groups, they whip out fresh flags
the flags are always still creased from being folded in the bags for delivery/rapid deployment
